Great service and a really good pizza. Not a huge variety of toppings but a fantastic pizza base. Well done! Several families in there too, so clearly family-friendly.

Had a nice meal, with work colleagues celebrating a Birthday. We got our Food quickly . This was a Wednesday evening, just after 530pm, but for a table of some 12 to 14 people I think we did well. Everyone got their food in good order and it was quite well organised in general. The food is good , I had a Chilli with Rice which I enjoyed . The only tiny point I may make is that for the price of the meal I felt we possibly pay a little bit too much than I'd have liked. However, I cannot fault the Team at the Restaurant

Another amazing visit for lunch with friends. Gravtye is a perfect blend of classic charm and modern sophistication. The restaurant has a light floral garden decor, which overlooks the gardens. Making it perfect backdrop to enjoy the exceptional food. The dishes are imaginative . Each bite was a celebration of flavor, with fresh, vibrant produce and carefully chosen elements that created a beautiful balance on the plate. The food is presented with artful design, almost too beautiful to eat — though of course, we did ! The staff are attentive, professional, and impeccably presented, ensuring everything is seamless and enjoyable. They are knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. They made us feel truly cared for throughout our time there. Cant wait to return!

Disappointing food and slow service

A lovely friendly little cafe with good coffee and lovely cakes

Lovely food as always and Cheryl who looked after us was very attentive and took our food and drink orders quickly and asked checked in with us during our meal. The restaurant is always clean and the salad bar is always looking fresh and topped up.

Expensive so so portions quality not up to prices.. Didnt rate the starter or fish dish. Used to be better a few years ago Had better better food elsewhere sometimes at standard pub prices or similar prices. Not terrible I guess but not worth the price seems overrated. Had much better food in Brighton and London even Sussex

Whilst the venue was lovely and atmosphere great the food was lacking on this occasion and not up to standard. We were a group of 6 celebrating a birthday and were expecting great things, alas this was not so, some of the dishes on the menu were not available. My crab scotch egg was very small and not worth £10.95 neither were some of the other starters, the seasonal green veg was just a mixture of shredded greens, mostly carrot, the pork dish was accompanied by the same shredded carrot in a small cabbage but that wasn’t explained to me when I ordered the additional veg side dish. The sea bream and lamb were ok but the accompanying veg let the dish down. The coffee machine was apparently broken so no cappuccino The waitress was very bubbly and efficient and did apologise for the failings. In all not the best experience…..

We stayed overnight. Accommodation basic but adequate and warm enough despite the cold weather. A good selection of reasonably priced pub classics for dinner. Friendly and relaxed vibe. Breakfast fine except the absence of hot milk meant that the coffee was either too strong or only lukewarm.

Having not visited the Crown in over 10 years plus, we booked for a Sunday evening for the 6 of us all having their Xmas Menu. We didn't know what to expect and we were so happy we booked here. It really did exceed our expectations. Lovely and warm upon entering and very inviting. Staff were excellent despite being rushed off their feet. They had many tables to attend to, but they did it with warmth and grace. Moving on to the food, all courses were excellent, served timely, and came out to the table nice and hot. Xmas menu excellent value. We all had different items, and we all cleared our plates. Really enjoyed the evening. Definitely return sooner rather than later. Thank you to the staff who were working under pressure on a very busy Xmas period.

Always great service and a lovely genuine country atmosphere. No fuss, open fire, locals and dogs, good food and wine. Very reasonable.

I always tend to trust a restaurant or cafe when you can see into the food preparation area and watch your meal being prepared. Add good quality ingredients, friendly service and a small but varied menu and you’ve got a great little lunch spot.

Visited with family for Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere, service and the food was fantastic. A very enjoyable Sunday lunch with some bubbly!
