We booked the table last minute really on a Saturday night for 8pm. We arrived at 8:12 and we were the only people in there which I thought was a real shame. After apologising for being late we were told that the kitchen was about to close in quite an aggressive manner. As a newly reopened place that was empty it wasn’t the welcome we thought we would get. Again, another person in our party was told on the way in that the kitchen was about to close, by that point it was a bit awkward. Anyway, we got on with the evening and to summarise the food was quite impressive. The fish was slightly overcooked but the people who had the duck special really enjoyed their mains and so did the person who had the beef pie. The service got better throughout the evening but it will always stick in my mind the start to the evening. Sussex has some amazing pubs and places have to really stick out for people to be repeat customers.

We were lucky to get a table at one of the supper club evenings and it was wonderful. The atmosphere was great - homely, cosy and chic at the same time 😊 The food was perfect. I don’t think I’ve ever had better lamb before! We had a few courses and it was delicious. It was a relaxed and perfect evening. Service was great. We all had a wonderful time. Thank you for such a perfect evening!

Brilliant! Loved this 'olde mouldy' pub. Dan was a great barkeep and made excellent suggestions based on my taste (DARK). Word the street is it is owned by the patrons like a club or something and I have to say I was treated like one of the family and had a most excellent time hanging out having a few and talking Shte with the other patrons. My only regret is finding this place on my second to last night in East Grinstead. Next time I'll be visiting multiple times.

Stopped in for breakfast recently, place is a bit scruffy and not the cheapest in the ara but quality of food (especially bacon and sausage) very much make up for that! Really friendly staff and nice vibe here as well. First time here, won't be the last.

There are Cafes and there are great cafes. This one without doubt falls into the latter category. My wife and I new of it’s existence for some time but had not yet visited. Then came the day when we were out for a walk and it came on to rain and we took shelter in this nearby cafe.It was nearly teatime anyway so we indulged our selves in a nice pot of tea and some really nice scones baked on the premises. We both agreed that coupled with good service that this was one of the best cafes we had been to.Highly recommended.

I always enjoy the experience of dining at the Gravetye Manor. I last went a year ago and was very much looking forward to my return visit. They have changed the experience by introducing some taster courses in between you chosen meal from the set menu, for the month or season. What a brilliant addition ! A wonderful meal. I enjoyed every course.

We had just visited a local garden, they have a cafe but only serve cake, which we did not want, so we decided to stop off in Haywards Heath and find a cafe for a light lunch. We both had a cheese scone, which were enormous compared to the ones we have had elsewhere, and a pot of tea. The staff were very polite and helpful, all the tables inside were full, so we sat outside, which was not a problem as although November it was not a cold day. We will be using the Bay Tree next time we are in Haywards Heath.
