Seated quickly on arrival. We were given menus, drinks ordered and main courses ordered - Sunday roast for both of us. Dinners arrived promptly, a very average meal. We finished our meal, we waited for our plates to be cleared away for a good 25 minutes which is a lot longer than it should have taken. Other tables also were waiting for their plates to be cleared, very annoying when one of the waitress was chatting to a customer/friend of hers for a good 15/20mins. We ordered dessert and another drink. The drink ordered never arrived, it was on the bill when it arrived. When pointed out to the lady who gave us the bill, the drink and service charge were both removed. Definitely would not go back in a hurry

Came across this beautiful pub when we were down south for a party and decided to go for some lunch. There was great parking and the outside had plenty of seating. We went in and were greeted by a very polite young lady. She showed us to our table and explained that a few things were missing from the menu. This didn’t affect us. There was still plenty to choose from. We had gourmet cheese burgers & chips, tempura cauliflower and chocolate mousse. The food was all delicious and well priced. Everywhere was nice and clean and looked stunning. The toilets were nice and clean too. Thank you very much for a very nice lunch.

When the cheese pot is bigger than the potato... Used to love the veggie menu at this place, including things like battered halloumi. However not much to excite on there any more given the prices. Working down the road, so needed food to keep me going. But I'll be honest the jacket potato that arrived was one of the smallest and saddest I've seen. For nearly £9 this seems abit much to say the least! Real shame as I was excited to eat here again Faithfully David

Turned away for dinner at 6:30, and then on another occasion on Sunday at 2:30, asked for just chips instead to give our kids a snack but was refused. The pub has so much potential to be great, but unfortunately the lack of attentiveness and awareness for patrons who want to use this local falls short. When we have eaten there in the past, the food is standard and pretty expensive for what it is. The location is gorgeous, and interior is beautiful, just wish it could serve the community it’s in better. Also, from what I have seen, the owner is pretty argumentative when leaving bad reviews, just shows what kind of attitude they have towards feedback.

So hoping for our local to improve sadly it has not. Witnessed 3 separate couples coming in for food between 7:15 - 7:45pm on a Friday evening - all were turned away as the restaurant had no bookings and had turned all the ovens off , this did not stop the chef remaining at the bar drinking until 9pm when his shift finished! More insultingly to fill the gap of missing food we were charged £3:25 for an £0.80p packet of cheese and onion crisps - outrageous - we will not be back again! How can you expect to survive with such outrageous service!

I booked a table for 4 people last night at 7pm. We weren’t particularly warmly welcomed but were seated at a nice table. We were given food menus but no drinks menu. About 10 minutes later when asked for drinks order I said we didn’t have a drinks menu. One was then grabbed off a nearby table and the waitress disappeared for another 10 minutes. Gave our drinks order and then our food order. Drinks came fairly promptly we then waited for our food (and waited and waited and waited). When we asked what was happening with our food order we were told by mistake it hadn’t been put through to the kitchen. By this time it was an hour since we arrived. I understand mistakes happen but at least do something to make the situation better by offering free drinks or some nibbles (olives, bread etc.). After enquiring again when our food was coming we were told it would arrive soon. We finally got it at 8.30pm. The food was OK but nothing out of the ordinary. When the bill arrived they had taken nothing off it to account for the bad experience we had. It was only when we asked was one of the meals taken off. I was embarrassed as we had friends with us who don’t live in the area. It is such a shame as this is the only pub we can walk to so is our ‘local’. We won’t be returning

We don’t go out for Sunday lunch very often and was looking forward to a great Sunday roast. The menu variety was good, but we were disappointed with the lack of finish to the meal. We had whitebait to start which had no garnish of lemon ( which it needed). And the toasted bread with oil and vinegar was disappointing for £6. We had roast beef and pork and the meats were very good, however the advertised homemade gravy did not deliver and the one bowl of veg which was 2 types of cabbage and swede was disappointing especially for £21 per meal. We were offered more veg and the Yorkshire pudding we great. I’d say the most upsetting part of the meal was the additional charge of £5 for a side of cauliflower cheese. We ordered 2 for a family of four which was only just enough, so as nice as the meal was it left us with a bitter after taste. This was not a bad experience but it did feel that corners were being cut to gain a profit. We will not be going back again in the near future.

I visited this pub, yesterday, with my extended family, to celebrate Mother's Day....for the second year in a row. The choice was heavily influenced by my Mother who asked if we could go again having enjoyed it so much last year. I have to commend the team on all aspects of the visit, it was superb in every way. There are other comments here about expensive starters, and yes, £15 for a baked camembert may seem expensive, but it was amongst the best I have tasted (and it is one of my favourite starters), and easily enough for 3 to share. We also had whitebait and olives as a mixture of starters and they were all excellent. One of my daughters is an olive addict and commented on how good they were here. Then the main courses arrived. Several of us chose the roast beef and, again, it was superb. We had a mix of preferred cooking styles in our group (from rare to well done) and although it is largely cooked the same, the team did everything they could to please us all. The roast potatoes were superb, the Yorkshire puddings enormous, and the mixture of side veg also plentiful....we also asked for more gravy and condiments and they were brought quickly and with no question at all. I suspect we would have been brought more veg had we needed it, but we did not. There were also burgers chosen by the children who were very pleased with their choices (and they can be fussy!). We then had a good mix of puddings, the white chocolate parfait in my case, which was delicious. The raspberry ripple ice cream/sorbet was the perfect accompaniment to offer some contrast to a luxuriously indulgent parfait. Congratulations to Ruth (I think, the owner, who I remembered from last year) and her team. If this is a new (management) venture, then you should be proud of your team (front and back of house). The service was very swift and friendly and offered top recommendations when asked for. I wish you continued success and hope to be back next Mother's Day, if not before!

We have visited the snow drop on a few occasions as we meet friends who live nearby and have always had an enjoyable meal in a nice well kept restaurant however on visiting on Sunday we where seated in an Annex area around the corner of the bar next to an outside door which was cold and very close to other diners which I don’t want to listen to there conversation nor I’m sure them ours whilst the main part of the restaurant appeared to be unused witch was a shame as it was nice and warm around that side when we looked at the limited menu we decided against a starter as the choice was limited plus I think fifteen pounds for a starter is somewhat overpriced we all decided on roast beef which on previous visits has always been lovely tender beef but on this occasion it was tuff stringy frankly not nice at all none of the four of us ate it witch rather spoiled the meal and asked the waitress to convey our dissatisfaction to the chef nothing was acknowledged but on requesting the bill we noticed that only two roast beef had been charged for witch was a nice gesture but nothing was mentioned re the deduction or the fact that the meal was somewhat ruined we do appreciate that times are difficult at the moment for business particularly the catering industry but overcrowding in a small area resulting in customers not being comfortable and quality of food are most important in these difficult times as that’s what keeps the customers coming back we unfortunately will not for a while

THE best Sunday roast I've had in a while! The beef isn't overcooked (it's pink in the middle!), the selection of veggie accompaniments are perfectly selected and prepared, and the presentation and flavours are just wonderful. We love the Snowdrop. It is a gorgeous pub, pretty and the food has always been great. My parents looked after my children this weekend so I suggested the Snowdrop for Sunday lunch. Having previously been great quality food and great value for money I was really disappointed to hear that that the portion sizes were much smaller and they were all left still feeling hungry. A table of 4 was given 1 small dish of veg between them and had to request another. They said the service was great and they were given another dish but the Sunday Lunch meat and potatoes were small and the the pork very fatty. This has always been our go to but with 2 growing boys we will have to go elsewhere.

Been to Snowdrop Inn many times. Today was awful. Food and waiter was fine. It was empty today, but the food was awfully slow coming out. I can understand it is New Year’s Eve and staff are on holiday. We ordered off the childrens menu for our 2 year old granddaughter. No apple juice and no tomato pasta. So we had no choice but to have the cheese pasta, which she did not like, know one’s fault. Out of a matter of principle I explained nicely that our grandddaughter did not have a drink or desert (watching the people dining near us wait for over 30 minutes for their desert, put us off ordering). We were informed the management said no discount on a £11 meal. Customer service is all important. As I say we have spent hundreds at this restaurant, and the service and food have been second to none. For the sake of a couple of pounds and poor management customer service. 2 stars. It is the principle, you should not pay for anything you have not received. Poor Management today.

This was second visit to this place and what a contrast, Appalling is the only word to apply to this place. Got there on time and greeted by a sullen person who didn’t even speak to us then vanished, after 15 minutes went to find someone to take our order and it was not busy, ordered and 35 minutes later my wife meal turns up and something that neither of us had ordered. My beer battered fish and chips was obviously hidden in the ratatouille. Told them to forget it after they said they only had an expensive large piece, my wife’s corn on the cob still frozen in the middle, not even an offer of reduction on the bill, will never go back here again

The Snowdrop have done a lovely refurbishment updating the bar and restaurant, but the food was very disappointing. Portions were small and unappetising as well as pricey. The ratatouille lasagne had no pasta…just veg and a gloopy sauce. Fish & chip portions were about half size of that served in other pubs with a small portion of chips and peas. Ice cream portion was very small. By contrast the children’s burger was adult size. Service was OK.

We live locally and visited the Snow Drop on Friday 1st December 2023 at 7pm, made a reservation for a table for two in advance. We were given a table by the bar in a draft , i wasn't impressed by the dogs in the bar area, i asked to move to another table but we were abruptly refused. My chair was wobbly and felt unsafe but I manged to change for an unused one from another table. We both orderd the Gourmet Beef Burger served in a brioche bun , chips and corn on the cob at an over charged price of £16:95. The burgers were over cooked and not in a brioche bun as advertised, but just in a bread roll. We found the whole experience from the Snow Drop staff rude and unhelpful and made us feel unwelcome and as if they were doing us a favour. We will not be returning.

My wife and I brought family members who were visiting for the weekend here as we wanted to take them to a nice place, with nice food. Unfortunately, we were left extremely disappointed and disheartened at our experience. One person ordered Prosecco which was flat - we didn’t mention this at the time but now wish we had. The food took over an hour to arrive. One meal was ordered with a side, said side didn’t arrive until after everyone had finished eating. The other three meals were burgers, one was missing toppings inside the burger, one was burnt (literally black) and all three’s chips were cold and stodgy. Even without these issues, all food was just underwhelming and tasteless. We mentioned all issues to the waitress who took one of the meals and sides off of the bill. Even with this reduction, the cost of the bill was still way more than we thought the food was worth. I’ve never felt so awkward in a restaurant in my life, and just wanted to leave. I think it goes without saying that we won’t ever go back.

Would avoid! FOOD POISIONING Myself, my husband and 2 friends all had the pork dish and within 24-36 hours all suffered severe stomach cramps, diarrhoea, vomiting, body aches and pains. It was reported to Nick Miller, the director, who had an appalling attitude. He didn't even believe that we had visited the restaurant on Saturday, disputed what we ate and point blank refused to acknowledge that the food poisoning came from his restaurant. There is no other possible explanation as to where this has come from as we met our friends at the snowdrop and then went our separate ways. I am breastfeeding and it has caused a lot of anxiety surrounding this. We spent a lot of money to come away unsatisfied and severely unwell. I have reported this to the food environmental agency and will not be returning and would strongly advise you not to eat here.

Our first visit under the new ownership. We were pleased to see the pub was pretty well full, well done. A couple of constructive criticisms. Because it was full, the dinning area was very very noisy to the point we had difficulty hearing normal conversation. The provision of curtains to the windows would help absorb the sound making the atmosphere much more pleasant. The dessert my wife had was the Mango and Passion fruit Parfait. Very tasty she said but it was frozen rock solid and it took a good 15 minutes scrapping the surface to eat it. Overall the food and the pub was good. However the level of noise was such that we would not return unless improvements are made to mitigate the level of noise at busy times thereby making the whole experience much more pleasant.

I was hoping to enjoy my rib eye steak at £25.95, but it wasn’t worth the price it was underwhelming, under seasoned, with a tomato , peas and a few chips on the side😞 The grilled lamb steak on roasted sweet potatoes and peas was colourful but the pomegranate seeds was a step too far! We only tried the Snowdrop because we could not find another venue with such an extensive Gluten-free availability at short notice. WOW! Were we impressed! The service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. I had what was probably the best mixed grill I ever had and I mean quality!! My wife had the snapper dish and it was equally amazing. We will certainly be returning to the Snowdrop. It is a little off the beaten track and rather hidden, yet it is less than 10 minutes from Haywards Heath Railway Station - around £12 by Taxi! Thoroughly recommend it!

After many pleasant lunches, dinners and Sunday roasts what a disappointing experience last a night’s supper was. Service was indifferent - not greeted or thanked when leaving. No comment was made for unfinished food when plates were cleared. Staff more interested in discussing bench’s outside. Liver was a thick cut swimming in a partly congealed sauce with very el dente vegetables. Gammon was thin slices of ham more suitable for a sandwich. Eaton mess was a described as summer berries - tasted like defrosted mixed summer berry mix - strawberries were mush. The crumble and custard was good - just a pity the other 5 courses weren’t - we were a party of three. Didn’t stay for coffee as not sure we wanted to be in a restaurant where dogs are allowed inside with other diners. Disappointed as have always recommended the Snowdrop in the past and thanked the staff.

Good quality food enjoyed by all in our party. Only one ale on offer, which wasn't expected, but Jess (the ale) didn't disappoint! Wife and son said pudding (chocolate brownie with cookie dough ice-cream) was fab too. Front of the pub looks like it would be very appealing on a sunny afternoon. 🌞

First time for me at The Snowdrop. I had lunch with a friend and we both had caesar salad with chicken from the small plates menu. The chicken was beautifully tender and the salad was just the right size. The staff were lovely. The only thing I would say, is the wine is quite expensive by the glass (£12.00), however I chose to have a glass anyway knowing how much it was and very nice it was. I would go back again.

Stopped here for a pint whilst cycling from London to Brighton. Highly recommend you do the same! Cutest little local pub, great beer choice and the food smelled great too. Friendly staff!

Delightful location, delicious food(generous portions) and good variety on menu. Friendly service and not exorbitant prices. Only missed 5✨for atmosphere because strangely quiet (am sure due to many away on holiday!) will definitely return!

We chose this restaurant because the menu catered for vegan and gluten-free customers. The waitress greeted us with the main glute and vegan dish was off the menu, with an indifferent shrug. Our daughter chose two starters instead. The lamb was tough, the pork was dry and the waitress service was at best, OK. A disappointing evening.

Nice atmosphere for a drink and the waiting staff were really nice. The food seemed overpriced for what it was. (a can of beans mixed with a can of tomatoes isn't a cassoulet). I'd recommend visiting and definitely go back.

Limited for ales but as a fan of badger, beer is good. Food is good but, tries a bit hard to justify the cost. What I have had was tasty but a bit overpriced for what it was. You can't fault the service from the staff. Personally, could be so much better by focusing on being a local, there aren't many around. I have upped a star from previous visit. Update on 09 August 2023, Badger ales have gone. Disappointed as was nice to have a Hall and Woodhouse in the area. Pint of Exmoor Gold was tried, it was ok but not spectacular. Couldn't see any dog treats on the bar or by the door as previous visits. Hours still limited so check but between 12 and 1930hrs daily you should be good.

Well worth seeking out the Snowdrop Inn. Good food in a pleasant environment. They seem to have cleverly balanced the issues of quality, quantity and price. It is not cheap, yet does not feel expensive for what you get. Some of the staff are good at eye contact and smiling, other could learn from their colleagues.

Booked a specific table for my daughters birthday over 2 weeks ago ..for evening meal tonight. When we arrived we were told that the table was already booked, presumably subsequently by another party and offered one smaller table next to diners with a middle size dog ..near bar. As locals we have dined several times previously and found the food was good. We do not expect to eat an evening meal near dog(s) or to have our table booking overthrown for another booking. The young female manageress made no attempt to sort the situation out and consequently we were left feeling annoyed and disappointed and gave our trade elsewhere locally…..which was excellent……sorry we won’t be back to the Snowdrop inn!

Okay venue, staff very pleasant, food beautifully cooked and presented just no wow or surprises here. At £100 + per head including wine and drinks just expected something a tiny bit better compared to other similar offerings at venues locally (Penmaenuchaf, Portmeirion or Plas Dinas, which all offer more theatre, for example) . Not disappointed at all with what we had, just not amazing. Should not have to ask for knives or side plates for the cheese board. No serving spoons provided for the veg etc. Had to remind staff about drinks ordered. It was not as if they were busy.

Booked a table for a special occasion when our family was visiting us. We previously had a few decent visits to the place. It was Monday night and the place was not busy at all. We got our drinks and then the waiting began....if 5 tables were occupied in the place, I am overestimating. Literally no food was coming out of the kitchen. I finished my glass of wine and I m not a quick drinker and still nothing. I enquired about our orders and were told that our table is next. It took an hour to finally get our dishes, which were rather small. The buttermilk fried chicken was tasty and juicy but I got a tablespoon of coleslaw with it. Someone else ordered the steak and I have never in my life seen such a small piece of meat. Nasi Goreng was decent. It was also a Monday night special and our orders created a lot of confusion what counted as special and what not...the waitress was kind and tried to rectify the hiccups.

We had just visited a local garden, they have a cafe but only serve cake, which we did not want, so we decided to stop off in Haywards Heath and find a cafe for a light lunch. We both had a cheese scone, which were enormous compared to the ones we have had elsewhere, and a pot of tea. The staff were very polite and helpful, all the tables inside were full, so we sat outside, which was not a problem as although November it was not a cold day. We will be using the Bay Tree next time we are in Haywards Heath.
