Lovely stay here including a meal in the restaurant. The apartment-hotel is in a central location and has free parking across the street. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed linen and towels were a high standard. The kitchen area was well equipped as well. The meal in the restaurant was superb and would highly recommend it but booking in advance is advisable. The team did an excellent job, and very friendly too- we would definitely return.

Had a beer in here when a storm came through. We didn't eat but the Sunday roasts that were coming out of the kitchen looked amazing!. Staff were very chatty which was nice

Back in May we visited the Fanny Talbot for dinner on our 10th anniversary. The food was absolutly wonderful and the staff were amazing. The highlight for us was that they had written us a little card for our special event. It was a really nice touch. Can't recommend highly enough.

My husband and l visited here on Tuesday 3rd September. We chose the tasting menu, absolutely fabulous. Compliments to the chef, and thank you to the staff for very good service.

The best place to eat in Barmouth. Staff and service are excellent.

We popped in for a couple of drinks yesterday afternoon. Very very reasonable priced drinks. A large Merlot was £7.50 and was excellent quality. My local boozer a Marstons pub charges £9.50 for inferior wine! The young man who served us was very polite, very mindful and very smart too! The toilets are unbelievable!! Spotless!! Didn't stay here but if service and toilets are anything to go by I definitely will!! Rest of staff lovely too.

Our first time here and it didn’t disappoint. One of the best places to eat in Barmouth. Not your typical pub grub, excellent presentation, local produce and of course tasty food. This is one not to be missed.

Came and Enjoyed some great food followed by a couple pints! Great atmosphere and a lovely restaurant area! Staff were very friendly and happy to help! Will be back!

This isn’t my first visit to the Talbot, & it certainly won’t be my last. Something was missing last time, which I couldn’t quite put my finger on.. that was until another patron commented on the outdoor lighting. I had an overwhelming feeling which hadn’t been felt since I took my toddler through South Downs nursery grotto for £7 (Only paid for him as I didn’t want a present) Nothing beats late summer pints under a few fairy lights, and when I say a few, I mean thousands. Probably 2 to 4 at a guess, stopped counting due to last orders. Bravo Talbot and whoever is in charge of the outdoor scenery & lighting. Back soon.

Excellent food & service. Fully recommend for tasty, all homemade I think! We had ribs, calamari & beef dish all starters were extremely filling and full of flavour. We also had a go at the legendary hot hot hot wings. Not for the faint hearted! Will be back very soon and trying maybe a Sunday lunch which is also recommended by friends.

All rooms have a kitchenette with basic facilities. Lovely views and very friendly staff. Food is fantastic. The hotel has a carpark but you have to ring them to get them to open the barrier

Brilliant location in Barmouth. The room was very cosy, very clean and beautifully presented. The attention to detail throughout the room and dinner was fantastic! All the employees were brilliant and so helpful, giving great suggestions for things to do and their personalities shone through!

Did not stay here but ate in the restaurant. Wow, fantastic food and great service.

If we could put 6 stars for service we would. Savannah is the best host we've ever had. After showing us to our lovely room, she asked what brought us to Barmouth, we explained that it was our 6 year wedding anniversary. Savannah promised us a nice table for our restaurant reservation. When seared, we found a lovely hand written card congratulating us on our anniversary. We were also provided complimentary drinks. The food was incredible. Night two I popped to the bar and asked about dessert. Despite orders being finished for the evening she made it happen and offered to bring it to the room. The whole experience was 5* but Savannah made it so special. She mentioned that she loves her job, and it really shines through in her interaction with guests. I hope Fanny Talbot realise how lucky they are to have such a star player on their team.

Superb rooms in a great location within Barmouth centre,great staff and private car park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the attention to detail was noted!

Lovely pub however how can you justify nearly £4.00 £ For a blackcurrant and soda pint Felt totally riiped off even the bar lady agreed will not be returning to this pub at these prices shame on you talbot cuckfield

Had a lovely lunch on the Terrace, the food was amazing and the staff were first class. Highly recommend a visit. Dog friendly they even got a gravy bone

Fabulous food in a relaxed but smart environment with excellent service

Overpriced unappealing and highly pretentious with no substance. Example: were told to allow a Beaujolais 3 minutes to 'develop' after it was opened. Utter nonsense. The food was in a similar vein. Cheap and basic masqueradeing as haute cuisine.

The food is exquisitely presented and of the highest quality. The combination of taste and texture was first class. The service was faultless with no lack of attention but no intrusion either. Highly recommended.

Exquisite food served at this establishment. We booked a table for 2 for Lunch. The level of skill from this Chef is just completely on another level . I refuse to believe there is a better place to eat in the entire area and i have been coming to this location for around 30 years. We tried the small platter of Confit Pork which was absolutely sublime. Followed by 2 large platters of Lamb Rump and Welsh Black Steak . You didn't even need a knife to cut through the meat it was that tender. The black garlic was an absolute taste sensation. The fresh herbs in the sauces were an absolute delight. Nothing less than sensational. We heard neighbouring tables talking about their food and their thoughts were perfectly aligned with ours. We would 100% recommend coming here if it is quality that you are after. We are very much looking forward to returning . Service was great and please keep hold of this Chef .

We saw the previous review and thought we would check this pub out for ourselves, all I can say is they must have visited on an off day, still no excuse. We gad excellent service and the food was very good. Will definitely go back.

Excellent Sunday lunch with really attentive staff and good food options.

I had eaten here in March when visiting Barmouth on a walking break and enjoyed it so much I brought 5 friends to Barmouth on motorbikes for the weekend specifically so we could eat here. Savanagh and the other staff are first class and the food is outstanding. Savannagh remembered me from my previous visit which was nice. What I like about it is there's nothing pretentious about the place like some fine dining restaurants I've been to. I've been coming to Barmouth now for a few years and it has improved greatly over recent years with some lovely places to eat and drink. With the opening of the Fanny Talbot it has just elevated what is available there. I shall be returning again soon.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Can't recommend them enough. The room had heating/Aircon and a kitchenette and bonus they have some dog friendly rooms. Great town center location and only 10 mins walk from the beach. Parking just across the road. A jewel.

I've given plenty of five star reviews over the years, but this venue really needs something beyond that. This has to be amongst the best of the best. We both had the tasting menu and it was exceptional, truly amazing eating experience. Staff equally added to the whole experience. Truly a real treat.

What a wonderful place; from the moment you step inside and see the gleamingly clean glasses hanging above the bar area, the sparkle of the beautiful decor tiles, fabulous wallpapered ceilings and sumptuous seating you just know this is going to be a class act. The staff are exemplary in their attentiveness and the way they make you feel special without being over the top. Then there is the food which let’s face it is so important because you could be sitting in 5 star luxury eating 3 star offerings and just because it looks good doesn’t always mean it’s going to taste good. Well I can honestly say that in the 40 odd years I have been dining out I have never had anything as close to the perfection I had last night - it was simply divine and not a single aspect from the wine to the desert disappointed. The whole experience was very impressive and enjoyable and made more so by the very friendly staff. We had a great double birthday celebration and look forward to visiting again very soon indeed!!! Wow! We had a superb lunch there on a wet and windy Wednesday in January. The food here is top notch. Excellent flavours presented beautifully, with a menu that made it hard to choose as there were so many yummy choices. I’ve told all my friends and even though it’s two hours away from us it’s well worth the journey - plus you get a walk on the beautiful Barmouth beach to work up an appetite. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a restaurant. Just wow. I am French and come from the catering industry. Did three years training in a catering school, worked for 10 years in restaurants and 7 years as a butler. I am highly critical when it comes to restaurants and cooking. First I love the setting but the food here is just incredible. We just had lunch but it was just amazing. Cooking to perfection. Flavours that make you close your eyes. The chef i heard was a finalist in Master Chef the professionals. Well , I might start chasing those finalists around the country if that is the standard. Do not miss it.

My 1st visit after this old building had been closed and derderelict fir many years. They have done a fantastic job of the bar and restaurant with a lovely front terrace outside too. Very attentive and friendly staff. The perfect place for a celebration meal as we did for my brothers 70th. I would say this is now the finest restaurant in Barmouth and there is some great competition. The ginger pudding is probably the best dessert I have ever had anywhere

This was the best restaurant food I've had, so much care and attention to flavours, textures and presentation. The staff were all wonderful, personable and very attentive. The restaurant itself was cosy and decorated nicely. I could not fault it at all. If we're ever back in Barmouth, we'll definitely revisit! Totally worth the price!

Wow. Did not expect to find a Michelin style restaurant in Barmouth. Excellent food and great service. A bit pricey but what you would expect from type of restaurant. Well done. Would highly recommend it.

Stayed for 2 nights in a very well-appointed room, thankfully air conditioned as it was during the early September heatwave. We ate spectacularly from a well executed, value for money, fine dining menu. (£55) Barmouth is a revelation, yes bits of it are “kiss me quick” but there are plenty of really good places to eat. We ate at the tiny but excellent Bistro Bermo and had a great lunch at NorBar, just outside of town.

I/we love this place, stayed a few times now and whether I’m travelling alone (I feel safe) or with the hubby. The service is amazing rooms are clean and comfortable . A special shout out to Joe he goes out of his way to ensure you get the best experience whether it’s a management expectation or not … indoors outdoors his presence is apparent his manners are exceptional…. Management material that man 100%. Note to owners he is an asset to your company don’t let him go 👌🏻 Food is amazing I/we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else now 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This place is incredible! We were here on our honeymoon and had it recommended. From the off, the staff were so welcoming! Food and service were impeccable- we can’t recommend enough! Joe and Luke couldn’t have been more hospitable- they made our night!

Pricing very misleading, no mention of vat or service charges on the menu board. This added £16.00 to our bill. £10.00 tax £6.00 service charge.

Generally good food, but an "odd" mix-up with our bill was dealt with in a fairly strange way. Somewhat soured an otherwise pleasant experience.

Food was faultless course after course..service was fantastic and a beautiful setting to dine in...it exceeded my expectations and I had high ones to begin with.

Amazing food and the best service you could ask for but, the restaurant felt cramped, it was incredibly noisy and surprisingly, they don't take AMEX.

We were booked in for dinner which was a set menu. We had drinks first and then we were shown to our table by Luke for whom nothing was too much trouble (like sharing the playlist with me!) The food and wine was incredible as was the service. To top off a fantastic evening we got to meet and chat with chef Owen who took the time after his busy shift to come out at my request 😀. Thankyou all so much for a wonderful experience. We will definitely return.

We popped in for lunch 07/03/2023. Was met by a friendly young lady with a smile. Very welcoming and helpful. I had the fish cake. Which was fine for me as a lunch but if your looking for something substantial order some sides as it is just a fish crack a lightly poached egg on a bed of spinach. Very tasty. Wife had the salmon salad with avocado. This was filling for a salad. Lovely ambience. Will definitely go again.

Had a lovely lunchtime meal & drinks last week., we could even take our dog in. Could not fault the staff. The menu was different to other places in Barmouth and not expensive, I hope this does not change too much with the arrival of a new chef.

A beautiful bar recently refurbished. Friendly staff. We didn’t eat, only had drinks but the food being served looked lovely! The toilets are very smart and clean. We shall definitely return for meals soon.

Delicious, friendly, easy. We booked for 8pm but arrived very early n they accommodated us with a smile. Service unfussy, quick and friendly. Good, varied menu. Fish n Chip treat excellent! Not fine dining, rather "pubby", but restaurant service and waiting - and front of house staff were great (despite the ongoing Covid precautions nonsense).We sat inside as it was cool but the tented area for anyone bold - or nervous - enough looked cosy. Didn’t hit the spot !Was really looking forward to my first pub visit after lockdown but it didn’t quite do it.The menus been revamped a tough and I totally get it’s been a tough time fir everyone.However £15 for a burger I expected more it’s looks good but don’t hit the spot.

I love going to a Deli to browse and select different delicacies to take home and enjoy, so the joy of finding a Deli with so many scrumptious delights on offer and staff that are so friendly and helpful, is wonderful.All produce is locally sourced and some products made by the owners themselves.The biggest challenge is not to buy everything on one visit! Will look forward to my next visit.

I would just like to say what a wonderful day we had Christmas Day at the Talbot. Dean and his staff were amazing! The food was delicious and we couldn’t fault any of it. The service and hospitality were second to none. With Christmas being difficult this year, Dean and his staff made it a Christmas to remember. We felt totally covid safe and will 100% be going there next Christmas!

My wife and I visited for a quick lunchtime meal and drink.We sat inside in front of the lovely open fire, there is also outside seating available with heating should you need to meet outdoors to comply with tier 2 restrictions.Friendly and welcoming staff and excellent Pizzas .So glad we dropped in and could support this super hostelry.Thank you for your hospitality.

We arranged a surprise 70th birthday dinner for my mother in law, with just 3 tables made up of 14 close friends and family. We had private use of The Hayloft upstairs. Dean and Julie were very accommodating allowing us to create a bespoke menu for the evening. The meal was absolutely delicious and faultless. The portions were generous and we couldn’t have wished for better. The staff were amazing and despite the restrictions imposed due to the COVID pandemic, we had the best night ever. The staff ensured everything was perfect and did everything to ensure we had a good night. I can’t thank them enough.I would thoroughly recommend The Talbot. You won’t be disappointed.

Came here with new friends to the village, and pre-ordered Sunday Roast. The roasts were so tasty and the portions were huge! The doggy dinners were a lovely touch after our walk and there was nothing left on all plates and bowls!Thanks you so much Dean, Julie, Anna and the team.

Excellent food and top service! We visited this pub in Cuckfield for the first time last night (as an alternative from our lovely local the Cock Inn in Wivelsfield Green and as our daughter was down from Oxford) having researched places to eat in the area. From the moment we walked in the service was faultless with several members of staff checking if we were being looked after. Very safe and secure COVID-19 arrangements and a lovely table. Table service was prompt but not intrusive. The choice of food was very good and the meals were very good. The girls had enormous haddock in beer batter and chips - very tasty fish indeed! I had two perfectly cooked sea bream fillets in a wonderful creamy mussels sauce and indulged myself with rough skin fries which were heavenly! Whilst not being rushed in any way the bill was provided promptly and without fuss and staff checked regularly to make sure we were ok for drinks and enjoying ourselves (which we were!). Our first visit but certainly not our last!

Brilliant Sunday Roast with excellent staff and nice chilled vibe! Cuckfield is also a wonderful little village to wonder around to walk off the roast.

A local pub with fantastic service from Matt. Seated quickly and our drinks order taken and made within minutes. Served by Matt, welcoming, polite and friendly which is why I will continue to return. Good food but best service I've had in a very long time.

Food was very good at the Talbot and very reasonably price -I will not rate it as 5 star as, despite of having a table booked, the lady insisted for us to sit on a high table with high chair with my wife pregnant of 5 months..., we then had to insist to go upstairs where the room was with plenty of tables available..
