Probably the worst eating experience I have ever had . Food cold, staff uninterested and tables filthy . 1 star is too good for this particular place. Avoid

My friend dragged me across town to this pub and it was closed for refurbishment. The pub is great but he is a tinker

We eat here fairly regularly, sometimes just two or three of us, up to as many as 12 on occasion. The food is consistently good. The beef is always fairly rare meaning it is soft & tasty, the turkey is moist and there is gammon (can't comment on that, who chooses gammon!). The portion given to you is very generous! Fresh roast potatoes and parsnips, plus a variety of other fresh vegetables, including peas sometimes much to my husband's delight! The cauliflower cheese is a great favourite of ours! Admittedly the outlook isn't very inspiring, but at £10.50 the food wins us over every time. My only negative comments would be that it is very dark in there and I would prefer more light to eat by, and the knives are really not sharp enough to cut rare beef with! A steak knife option would be appreciated. Won't stop me visiting though!

Visited on a Sunday around 2.30pm, thinking of having a roast dinner. It is above Wetherspoon, in a very large room but there were few patrons and no atmosphere. There appeared to be three meats, no lamb and the usual vegetables. We stayed for a drink but did not feel comfortable so moved on.

The pub is a little tired, staff are really nice. Pool cues could do with a upgrade. Good place for chilling out with mates.

Not a usual haunt of mine, but had occasion to visit for Sunday lunch. It is a large bar/seating area that I imagine could get very noisy if busy. TV’s playing behind the bar and a pool table for use by those who want it. Not the best of outside views with its position, even with a window seat you can only look over the new Travel Lodge, that aside however the service was friendly. The carvery meat selection was gammon and turkey, (the beef was still in the oven apparently). Even though it didn’t look turkey shaped, the turkey was moist and tender. There was a selection of parsnips, carrots, peas and cauliflower cheese for vegetables, and roast potatoes, also sweet potatoes. We were very early to eat after they opened therefore the vegetables were very hot, so hopefully they get replaced regularly during the lunch sitting. On the whole the lunch was fine and no complaints. Would I visit again as my own preference, no and that is because of my own view of these large cavernous places with no atmosphere.

The witch is a lovely pub with good food and great staff. I celebrated my birthday there recently. Everyone was very welcoming and patient, with 17 of us procrastinating over what to have. There were some nice vegan options for myself and my partner and everyone enjoyed there meals. 5 stars 🌟

My coffee experience failed at the first hurdle. £4.95 for a flat white. A coffee that could be "enjoyed" over looking a dusty car park, or from a hard looking interior with no atmosphere whatsoever. This is just nonsense. From two previous experiences I had looked forward to sitting on the balcony overlooking the vineyard. What a let down. I believe it is a legal requirement for traders to display prices. Then is none on show for consumers to make an informed decision.

Popped in here for a bacon and sausage baguette. Was very disappointed in the baguette. I expected more in it for the money I paid. Which with a coke was over 7 pound and all I got was 1 sausage and one and a bit rasher of bacon. Not value for money in my opinion.

Just paid £4.40 for a pint of apple juice poured straight from the carton. When enquired further I was told in a one word answer inflation from the bar keep. After a second look at the menu apple juice doesn't have a price nor labeled on the menu. Just make sure you enquire the price before ordering anything.

Excellent pizza and desserts, really good menu and specials, light and airy and friendly service. I drunkenly wrote a review for the Plough on TripAdvisor about 10 years ago, stating they serve the best pizza I've ever had in the UK which was a pretty bold statement, however the pizza is very very good, with quality ingredients and beautifully cooked.
