A lovely local feel, great food with superb portions and fairly priced . Staff are friendly and accommodating. Service is always on point. Our new favourite for Sunday lunch

After along walk we ended up in the witch, staff are fantastic and the food was amazing, dog friendly and sorry about the extremely muddy boots

Update 2024: was always a nice place. Now even better with new management making it a proper pub again. Good atmosphere, good ales, good staff. Friendly helpful service. Couple of nice ales. G&T or 3 went down well too. Seating out in the garden (either under the large marquee or out-out on the grass). The team were helpful organising a leaving party in the garden a few months back. Very accommodating.

Celebrated my 50th birthday with my children here. It was booked at very late notice but the management team And staff went out to their way to make it a special birthday. The service is brilliant and the food was also top-notch. Will definitely come back..

The witch is a lovely pub with good food and great staff. I celebrated my birthday there recently. Everyone was very welcoming and patient, with 17 of us procrastinating over what to have. There were some nice vegan options for myself and my partner and everyone enjoyed there meals. 5 stars 🌟

The Witch Inn, well id say that their roast is possibly the biggest and best in sussex you couldn't fault one thing very good sized portions . I'll definitely be back

Really enjoyable lunch at this lovely pub in Lindfield. Great burger , super chips, friendly staff and really good value. The bill was lower than expected and that never happens! Well worth a visit.

The Witch Inn is now a drinking house so if you are looking for a well cooked lunch/dinner with a varied menu go elsewhere. If a burger and chips is what you are after perhaps they could manage although the chips that were served to us with an awful piece of fish were absolutely tasteless. Perhaps it was the chefs night off.

Good guiness, service with a smile, friendly staff and a nice feel to the place

Our first time visiting after a long walk. We sat in the garden and had a great burger with amazing chunky chips! Looking forward to booking a table and eating inside.

Sadly - our experience was shocking, the new waiting staff didn't ask us to try the wine or even open the bottle the food was so bad, I hate complaining but I couldn't not say anything. I ordered the burger when it came it was the size of a child/canapé burger. If my husband had been put this in front of him he would of laughed, I asked for no side salad and got 5 chips, the burger was so over done the cheese has disapeared! I asked for a replacement and told it would take 20 mins (we were the only people in there eating!) it took 25 mins to re-cook a burger. They offered us a glass of wine, great we thought nice gesture for it to then be added to the final bill. Over all it was shocking! Starter was a heated up frozen spring roll, I think its under new management ! We defo will not be eating there again ! This place could be a gold mine !

Love this pub, four of us and our dog turned up on 20th April and the drink, food and deserts were all great! I would like to add that the staff and manager are all fantastic here and we will definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

Nice pub. Went on Sunday, roast was a bit disappointing, would have liked a bit more for £20+. Starter was nice though.

Had a lovely evening at The Witch. Family 50th birthday for 8 of us and we were very well looked after. The Witch was chosen as it was local to some family members and it was a great Pub choice. All the classics with the food, and some great beer/drinks. The only gripe and this might have been my fault in not making myself clear.....i asked for my tonic not to be poured in my gin ( only because i like to pour myself after a period of settling in the glass) but it came up all in one. I was taught to serve the tonic next to the gin and allow the customer to pour. But the food, atmosphere, serving was all of a great pub standard. Thank you Witch in giving us a great eveing.

I know we all had a great time, and to say it’s the first time we’ve ordered food, the shared platters and chips were a big success! The beers and food were delicious as always, the Dads were all able to get some well deserved down time, with lots of good banter and laughs had, and as always a lovely atmosphere, with such friendly staff. Great food and beer selection helpful staff

Staff were lovely and very friendly but just found it very expensive with small portions. I have the roast beef which was nice but nothing special and was left hungry after, could have done with more veg, potatoes and parsnips especially for £20. I had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was lovely, but again felt overpriced for what it was. Overall felt like the portion size was a massive let down as the quality didn't match the price.

Friendly staff, good food, huge portions.

Although the food, wines and beers are still excellent, I was not as blown away by the experience as on previous occasions. The place was empty (20:00, Wed night) and therefore lacked any atmosphere. The waitress was keen to get our food order asap as I guess the cook wanted to go home. Service was excellent but it seemed very expensive

Service was great, the staff were well organised, attentive and made sure we were happy throughout the entire night. Food was very nice too, came quickly and was hot. Would love to try the rest of the menu out!

Firstly the service and welcome was brilliant. Our son who has additional needs would only eat his own packed food. When enquiring with this request Sophie said it was absolutely fine and when we arrived she made a point of asking our son what he was having. The food was excellent and I would say the chips with our Halloumi fries were the best. There were a couple of vegetarian options. The seating was spacious and being in the bar you had all the atmosphere too. Plenty of choice in wine and beer. We would highly recommend this place where nothing it seems is too much trouble. Truly excellent 👌

Just had Sunday lunch but it's was tasty and freshly cooked. Staff were friendly and attentive. Has a lovely beer garden at the back of the pub if it's a nice day....

We were a party of 4, celebrating a birthday. We had a lovely evening, the food was excellent and we were very well looked after. 2 of our party were partially deaf which was explained beforehand and we were placed in the snug table where the background noise is reduced as the restaurant was busy. We shall certainly be returning.

Great pub and friendly staff. The back garden area also allows dogs and everyone is friendly.

A real little gem of a pub. We found this place online so had no idea what it would be like but it was great. Lovely staff and delicious food would definitely recommend trying it

We had fish and chips and ribs and chips with pistachio cake and panacotta and rhubarb crumble for dessert. The chips were excellent as was the fish although the portion size of the fish was a little small. It looked like half of the meal rather than the full fish. The ribs were good but not amazing. The desserts were the real disappointment, the pistachio cake was a little bland although the panna cotta was very nice. The rhubarb crumble was mediocre. Service was good rapid and friendly but when we said the crumble was not too good (after being asked how the dessert was) the waiter said he wouldn’t tell the chef which suggests the chef may be a little defensive about his preparation? Still all things considered a good experience if a little pricey.

A good English public house with Fabulous food, very friendly helpful staff all at a reasonable price. I live in london but we have considered driving out just for the food!

This pub restaurant is a real gem.It is a special food experience. There is a beautiful mix of art on the walls. The dinner menu is brilliant. Highly recommend the prawns or fishcakes as a starter. There is no carpark, but this shouldn't be seen as a negative due to the exceptional quality of the service, and food means that it didn't seem to matter.

We enjoyed this pub, a very nice welcoming and friendly team. Professional set-up, nice garden and very good food. We kept it simple on this visit, charcuterie boards and burgers, but it was a good choice ! Other hi-lights, dog friendly, good parking and just a stroll from the historic high street.

6 for Sunday lunch. This was my second visit and again I was disappointed that my food was not hot enough. The food was tasty but not enough vegetables per serving. Those of us who had beef had virtually finished our meal before the mustard, salt and pepper arrived (basics). Suggest when an order for a roast is made the condiments are brought to the table before the food arrives. Ok but not great. Could be great with a bit more effort.

Fantastic lunch with the family. This is a classic English country pub with the most amazing food. I had the fish and chips which was so tasty. The rest of the family had roasts - beef and chicken - and everyone was very impressed. The atmosphere in the pub was really good - warm and lively, and the staff were super friendly and efficient. VERY highly recommended.

We love this little pub. Nice to sit around the bar and chat with the lovely staff. Good local beers, and a super garden lots of sunny spots! Gets busy at weekend food service times as small so worth booking if you want to eat - we’ve missed out a couple of times as we forgot!

Visited here with friends for a pub lunch and were very impressed with the quality of the food. I can definitely recommend the ribs which were plentiful and very tasty.

Had a lovely meal here on Saturday night. Pork belly was delicious! Not over priced and the service was friendly, timely and we did not feel rushed at any point. Great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend.

Nice pub, nice staff and nice food. We went on a Sunday and had the Sunday roast. It was nicely (home) made and beautifully presented...at nudging £20 you'd be expecting something special. Starter and deserts very good too. Service tailed off towards the end of the meal as the place got busy. Recommended but parking not that easy.

Truly exceptional. Friendly welcome, clean, well presented. Good selection on the menu. Food was presented beautifully, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Two clean plates. A little pricey but you get what you pay for!

We have eaten at the Witch Inn a few times as it’s at the end of our road and we are never disappointed. I had the Asian beef to start and the Pork belly for main and both were delicious. Will definitely be returning again and again!

The Witch was a great find for an amazing Sunday roast. Food was next level. We were in a family group, and we all enjoyed our lunch. I had a perfect pork belly, with crackling. It was one of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time. Great atmosphere and lovely staff. Would highly recommend.

We went to the Witch yesterday for a family lunch and it was the best experience. Most of us chose the beef roast lunch which was beautifully cooked and melt in the mouth. Five star roast without a doubt. Can also recommend the sticky toffee pudding! Great family atmosphere here. Lovely wines too and great service from Sophie and her team. We will be back!

Few lovely ales, plenty of room. Tad expensive, but that’s the London effect.

Went for a Christmas corporate event, food fairly average probably as catering for 60 people simultaneously.

Food was nice, lacked a bit of flair and was a little on the pricy side for a pub.

Drove all the way here from brighton to meet with friends and they’re closed despite saying open on Google.

Nice little pub with beer garden, clean environment and decor; very friendly and approachable staff. Good menu selection although could improve on Lacto free options on the deserts rather than the stock "sorbet." Food quality was generally good, let down a bit, roast lamb dinner was luke warm and not hot enough when delivered. Roast lamb meat was probably the rarest I've come across, I like my steaks like that but lamb needs a bit more than raw to enjoy the flavour.

French influence, with pub classics and a la carte menu, including great starters, very good fish, venison, duck and beef. Very well run restaurent and a relaxed cool vibe. My local in Lindfield. Reservation required at weekends, dog friendly.

First time we have eaten here since well before Covid struck. Food was outstanding, offered very fair value and the staff added to the welcoming atmosphere.

I've had a lot of roast porks in my 46 years on this planet and I can safely say this is BY FAR the best crackling I've ever tasted! Everything else was great too, the staff, the venue, the garden. Highly recommend.

My first pub outing this year and The Witch did not disappoint. The staff were still super friendly and genuinely nice and helpful. I had Deep Fried Halloumi and Chips with delicious little side dishes of smoked hummus and babaganush. My friend had the deep fried fish and chips and asked for veg rather than chips and was given a lovely selection of fresh veg. As a non drinker they offered an excellent beer and Seedlip. It was excellent value for money. We’re very fortunate to have The Witch within walking distance and looking forward to returning very soon.
