Excellent. Great food and great staff.

One of the best and most picturesque pubs in the UK. Jane & Janet, the Landladies, are absolute diamonds. They hosted my beloved grandmother’s wake and their food and hospitality made a difficult day joyful. Everything is homemade by Jane - succulent fennel sausage rolls, feta & mint frittatas, individual Victoria sponge cakes, all delightful & delicious. We’ve also been for dinner and love their Mediterranean G&Ts. The cricket green out the front could not be more quintessentially English, yet their garden out the back is also full of colour and flowers. You will be spoilt for choice on all fronts. A must X

Perfect village pub with wide variety of options for adults and children and the most amazing lazy beer garden, will be returning again just for the roast and wonderful service from Jane and Janet ❤️

Lovely friendly staff with well looked after ales and ciders

Been here a few times over the last year and it's always been very good. Bit mixed on the last visit though and might be a while before we're back to be honest. Portions seemed smaller, I'm sure the pie and chips used to come with at least something on the side (or even some gravy) but now need to order veg etc. as a side. Apparently the gravy is in the pie (a new one on me) but it was quite dry, especially with dry chips (and vinegar/ketchup etc. hardly goes with a pie). Overall, food was pretty good (deserts always are here) just not a great deal of it and those in our group who had the pies were underwhelmed.

This is a lovely pub for sitting outside and having a drink however the food is very poor. But like I said a lovely pub for a drink in the sun.

We visited the Victory Inn today. The food was good, but the landlady was very disrespectful to the bar staff and customers. I've never known front-of-house rudeness like this. She didn't care who heard her or what she said. I told the bar staff you don't have to stand for that type of behaviour! The bar staff were lovely and would revisit only for that reason, with an Industry that's trying to get back on its feet I am shocked that the landlady would behave in such a way.

We went at 7pm so no food but a cold drink outside was very welcome.

Lovely small country pub. We are from London and came to visit friends. Have a lovely sunny afternoon dining alfresco and food was lovely.

Went there with my son for a lunch break after work. Staff very friendly and my son loved the food. We will come back on Thursday 🤟❤️🤟

Classic British country pub, great food options even for kids. Very welcoming.

What a fabulous Sunday lunch experience today. A truly friendly welcoming reception and service by all the team. We both had roast beef served with proper Yorkshire puddings, real gravy( which definitely contained the meat juices!) roast potatoes and a separate dish of fresh cauliflower, carrots and green beans. Everything is home cooked and delicious. As for the puddings…,sticky toffee pudding and peach crumble which we devoured! My only regret is that we’ve not stopped here before today. We will be back! Also a good selection of non alcoholic beers, lagers and cider. Thanks to you all. We won’t be eating else for the rest of the day!!!!!

Wonderful selection of food at reasonable prices

Great Home-cooked food at very reasonable prices. I love eating here, it's relaxed and authentic. I have friends who come from afar to go the Victory too! Always very welcoming.

Awful experience. Waited over 45 minutes for food (we ordered 5 Roasts) had to ask how long it would be only to find out our order had been forgotten about and was being prepared now. After this conversation we were told that some of our food didn’t go through the till so wouldn’t be served to us. After waiting even longer we then got our food but it was not enjoyable and they served us 1 bowl of veg to feed 5 people. The food was not good. Told the manager about it and she was rude and obnoxious and questioned my complaint and made some rude remarks whilst at the table. My daughter then went up and tried to sort the situation out but was met with a lot of animosity and was barged out the way by the manager. We said we were not paying for the food as none of it was touched but did offer to pay for the drinks but was told we didn’t have too (the only positive about the meal) Excuses were made about the chef falling unwell but we were not made aware of this nor did we get any type of apology from any members of staff. Safe to say we will not be returning.

We called in here for dinner and a drink one evening and were greeted with the most delightful and hospitable reception from the staff. What a wonderful popular and quaint local pub! The quality of the food was exceptional with a diverse and tempting variety of daily specials, making the decision of what to order difficult, but we were more than happy with our choice. We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal and will without a doubt be back very soon.

It's just a lovely place. Food, well Sunday lunch. Is always very good. All my visits were for Sunday lunch.

The tricky thing about the Victory is deciding what to have. Classic pub menu with some great specials and pies that never disappoint. The service is always friendly and the beer always good. I'm not much of a dessert/sweet person but this place would test anyone's willpower - amazing desserts. Only gripe is that the tapas for one is nowhere near as good as the sharing tapas for two (not a half portion of the latter and just not as good). Been here for dinners and lunches and will be back again soon.

Fantastic place. Cosy and clean and full of country pub feel. Booked for Xmas Dinner on Xmas eve and can not wait.

This is the most welcoming pub I've been to. All members of staff are so friendly! We come here with my son and all the staff are happy to talk to him and make a fuss. The food and drink range is excellent.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Staff very quick to offer alternatives to fussy eaters. Food incredible. Visited Sunday lunchtime so Sunday roasts were ordered for most, but regular food still available and very good. Staff knew all beers and could describe all fully to help a decision. Staff appeared to give every customer special attention.

Visited tonight (Saturday) and had a great time. It was curry night and the curries were delicious! The lady serving (I assume the landlady) was friendly and warm and made us feel very welcome. Have already recommended The Victory to my in-laws - we will definitely come back.

Excellent service as normal. The starter of tapas to share was hot and tasty and filling. Mains of small fish and chips was plenty for the wife. My beef vindaloo was too mild for my liking, but there was plenty. Neither of us needed a desert, with three beers and an appletise a very pleasant lunch was had Go and enjoy

Sunday Roast. I took my mum today for a lovely dinner. We had the roast pork/crackling/stuffing/ roast potatoes. Served with delicious parsnips, carrots & kale. Absolutely delicious. No room for dessert, unfortunately ! Service by friendly efficient ladies. Thank you. We will be returning.

Discovered almost by accident but so glad we found it! Squeezed us in for Sunday lunch, a vegetable curry for one of us and fish and chips for me. Clearly home cooked, good portions and sensible prices. Cosy fire to sit near, and nice view from the outside seating. Welcoming and efficient service. Was very busy but didn’t feel packed, easy to park.

What a great experience, We were accommodated on a busy New Year’s Day when the pub was busy with a large party and the welcome ,service and food was superb. My Wife ,Daughter and granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you so much for your amazing hospitality, very much appreciated !

What an absolute pleasure to pop into a real proper country pub, a warm welcome awaits from Sophie and Nikki ❤️ (the dream team) and a lovely fire 🔥 from the well tended log burner. Sadly the Guinness lorry had broken down so had to try the ale to wash down a really tasty tapas lunch, 🫒 🥔 🍤 🥖 🍽️ Will definitely be back, lots of other dishes on the menu to try and love the easy going atmosphere here, great place to chill out.

Stopped into this local pub on the way to Brighton. It was amazing! The seasoned fries were perfect and the burger was lovely. Totally recommend to anyone nearby. Lovely staff and a very homely feel. There was a log-burner to keep us warm as well which was nice on a cold day.

Absolutely fantastic. We could not have been made to feel more welcome on what was probably their busiest weekend of the year, the London to Brighton veteran car run. We were offered a cancellation for lunch on the Sunday following our visit on the Saturday. The village was packed to the gunnells and the pub were happy and allowed access to their loos for the general public. The lunches on both days were fantastic value and served promptly from very friendly enthusiastic staff. They really made our weekend perfect. Had an outside bar from early doors serving coffee and breakfast baps too.

Hadn't been here for a while and quality and service were as I remembered. Best to book as it continues to be a popular place to eat. Note not open Monday-Wednesday. Came with friends from abroad who had to get to Gatwick and this pub is perfectly located for the 15 minute journey (not on the flight path!) Great location in pretty village. Plenty of parking

Here with two friends. Harvey’s was excellent, staff were really helpful, food was amazing - fish ‘n’ chips, pie and a brilliant value 5oz bavette. Tough to fault. Small tip, eating in the bar area much more fun than the dining room.

Great service from the whole team and amazing food!! The vegan dishes they had on offer for the other half were a hit! Highly recommend visiting!!

This is a really great traditional pub. Always a warm welcome from very friendly landlady and her staff. We visit as often as we can and would recommend it without hesitation. We’ll kept beers and a good menu which changes through the year. Meals are always tasty, hot and served with a smile. Very dog friendly, nice clean bowls of water always available

The victory is a fantastic pub. They always have the nicest food not to mention The decorations on the outside. Theirs also a playground and a massive green to play football on. And parking is very easy.

I went today for lunch. Service excellent. Plenty to choose from the menu & specials. Mum had ham eggs x2! & chips. I had smoked mackerel with spinach & potato salad. Delicious & so well presented, every mouth full tasted of all the ingredients . We will definitely be returning as not only delicious but good value for money. Thank you

I have visited this pub many times over the last 10 years or more & it never fails to disappoint. From the minute you walk through the door you are greater by friendly staff. It has a lovely ambience. The food is amazing best fish & chips ever!! Lovely setting. The little garden out the back is shaded & very pretty. Wish we lived nearer as it wound definently be our local.

Picturesque view over the village cricket green on a sunny day paired with an accommodating friendly team(10 of us not booked) and a thoughtful homemade menu. 10 empty plates and a desire to return is the best testament. Lovely for family meal. Quick service and good food

Nice sunny day so we went out for a lovely lunch at the Victory. Olives and bread to start following a cracking Ploughman’s served with blue cheese, ham and Brie plus a tasty fish chips.

The efforts this pub makes repeatedly to welcome and be friendly and then to serve efficiently their delicious food can not be overstated. This village is very lucky to have such a pub nearby and my car group is very grateful to go there 4 or 5 times a year. Would be more often if we could! Excellent place I love returning to.

Very nice old village pub. A couple of ales, one of which was Harvey's Best Bitter, very well kept. The food looked good, although we didn't have any.

Superb food and staff. Alternatives offered to unwanted food (e.g. salad or extra protein instead of bread with the ploughman's.). Menu good selection. Good choice of drinks too. Staff made you feel very welcome and you didn't feel like they were rushing away to serve anyone else. Highly recommend!

Once again the service was outstanding, professional and fun; the food was just brilliant with only empty plates left after each course! Hats off to the entire team at the Victory for their effortless attitude to their hardwork keeping the customers happy and very well fed!

Because the restaurant was a dog friendly I’ve decided to celebrate my 55th birthday with my family and dog there. I booked one particular table a week earlier but when arrived my table was given to the owners close friends. Very disappointed. The saddest experience ever. I didn’t expect such disrespect. All of my guests felt like a second hand people. If you are not local please don’t go there. You’d be treated with huge disrespect directly by the restorant owners!

We visit the Victory very regularly with both family and friends and I have been meaning to post a review. I just love this wonderful pub in Sussex. The menu is delic and changes regularly. The food is cooked fresh on site and is always good. Finally but definitely not least, the staff are terrific- so keen to ensure customers have a really good experience. I can’t praise them enough!

The Team catered for my Wife's 70th Birthday with a Lunch Session where we (and our 40+ secret guests) had the whole Pub from 1230-1630! The Food; Drinks; Service and Staff Demeanour where outstanding 💢💯 So thank you sincerely Team Victory! Would I use this Pub again? Yes without a doubt 😁

On the day it was very busy but service was very fast with plenty of staff on hand.

Excellent all round, quality, location, atmosphere and the service was brilliant, a real country pub with good menu too. Hadn't been for a couple of years but will be back soon.

Lovely staff, basic pub grub. Stopped here after a walk around the area for a cider and a burger.

Impromptu birthday meal last evening. Food we had was superb and cooked very nicely- and l am fussy! Changes accommodated without issue. Staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonable priced menu too - will definitely return to the Victory Inn.

Traditional pub with a land lady that understands the cellar, if it's beer your after this s is the place. If you're after swanky, pretty cocktail style fare, go elsewhere and leave real pubs to those the appreciate them!

We visited today and sat in the the garden at the front watching the cricket. We were made to feel so welcome at the bar and the food we ordered was perfect, a very nice way to spend a Saturday lunchtime - thank you !
