The best restaurants serving British food in Elmbridge South East

Just tried out the new menu at the Hare yesterday. It was fantastic. There are a new array of starters which are delicious and it was hard to pick which ones to have. Each and every one I had was delicious and well presented. I also tried out the new dessert. It was the pavlova. If you like meringue you won’t be disappointed. Their lunch menu is really reasonable too if you want to pop in with friends. I would definitely recommend a visit to see what’s on offer.

Popped in for a lunchtime pint while paddling up the river Wey on a quiet sunny day. Perfect! Loads of outdoor space. 4 cask ales on tap and all the other stuff. Exactly what was required.

Generally, this feedback is more about the hotel.& SPA. We had a spa & lunch booking not cheap at all. But the lunch was VERY limited, and most things cost extra ( it's not the same as last time we visited). A sandwich choice with crisps, not much else, no frills, no starter, no puds, no drink....pretty poor. And the spa!! While the facilities were good as it's been modernised. And the massage was great.. a super lady very relaxing. BUT the staff and service elsewhere were slapdash and careless. No planning or forethought had gone into our booking. When we booked our 50 mins massages for 2 of us and asked for them spaced out after our lunch, not as soon as we arrived after lunch. Well, they did just that booked us in immediately after eating. The young desk staff and apparent Customer Service Manager didn't care. Just repeated themselves parrot fashion instead of offering customer service. Brooklands Spa has gone downhill in terms of service. And I will advise people to avoid it at all costs. Even if you get a deal. Young, inexperienced staff manage your booking and apparent people steal products!! So they need your credit card before you begin. It's more like visiting Croydon than Weybridge. A sad decline of what used to be a pleasant place once upon a time.

On a horrid rainy New Year's Day I went into Eight with three friends for my birthday. Daniel & his team were absolutely lovely & made me feel special & really spoilt me. The food was delicious & the customer service outstanding. Thank you for a lovely time & a happy new year to you all.

This tea van in located in a layby in Portsmouth Road Cobham. It is a good stop off point for a hot beverage and snack. Food was fine and met the hygiene regulations.

Had Sunday lunch outside - mostly it was OK but not special. Food was OK but the cheese course was very bad value - one 5cm pieces of cheese that was clearly dried up on one side but charged at £13, was poor. When we sent it back it returned 60 seconds later clearly having had that side cut off. Overall it’s an OK place but probably not worth repeating

Tired from walking the palace we were welcomed in by a very kind staff and had an outstanding meal. Would highly recommend.

Family of six visited for Sunday lunch. Nice vibe in pub which was busy. Staff welcoming, friendly & helpful. We had Lamb shank which was huge! Pork belly which my mother in law loved and roast beef where the only gripe was that there wasn’t enough! A good test of roast dinner is always the quality of the roast potatoes and they were really good, crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy in the inside, yum! Will definitely return!

Great little pub with good food

I have stayed at the hotel so can't rate the rooms but have visited the bar. The 1664 was spot on, well done!

Sunday lunch menu is limited for vegan options. I ordered the carrot and cashew nut roast, and it was really unpleasant, in my opinion. It tasted of an overriding sweet taste, almost like mint jelly. Although it didn't have mint jelly in it, I assume it may have been the carrot. There was no texture to the nut roast, and you could squash it with a fork. I did speak to the manager on our way out but he didn't seem that interested.

Great staff - thank you Maia! And also the young man from the bar who let us taste a selection of wines before choosing. Fantastic roast beef - if the kitchen can make the roast potatoes crispy it would be 10/10. But perfectly cooked beef, lashings of gravy, vegetables were delicious, home cooked Yorkshires- well done , delicious.
