Such good service and good, as soon as we arrived all of the stuff couldn’t have done more for us. All of the bar staff, so pleasant, so friendly and helpful. Sienna and Holly were lovely. Love it as a local! Tapas and a bottle of wine, perfect Friday night!

It was a celebration of our friends birthday, 6 of us attended . They have certain promotions available on food each day today Thursday 20th March 2025 was steak and a drink . All of us had various steaks ranging from fillet to ribeye .The staff Becks ,Lucy and Sienna were very attentive and obliging The food was delicious and so were the range of beers and wines and spirits This is our third visit including Sunday Lunch The prices were very reasonable

Best pub locally for sure. Nice front beer garden in the sun, ok selection of drinks on tap and staff friendly. I always feel like they don't know what to do with the old and dated-style seating and tables they adopted from the old pub. Also, frustrating how it's so hard for pubs in Hersham to get away from the chav / builder / dirty vibe when so many young professionals have moved out from London to the area. Was really hoping when it changed ownership a year or two ago that they'd gut it and refurb to the likes of pubs found in Esher, Weybridge or Claygate etc.

Absolutely disgusting food, vegetables uncooked, roast potatoes not cooked, the girl serving had chewing gum in her mouth. When the food arrived it was cold, steak raw. We complained were told no money off the food we left uneaten, as a good will can offer a drink. No apology, had to wait three quarters of an hour to get out table cleared. Desert, the spoons were dirty and thrown on the table. People behind also complained. Would not eat their again. Get staff not kids to serve and ones that have manners.Nearly £100, spent and who asks for payment before food is delivered. All our meals were different and all disgusting. Would not recommend this place for eating, customer service bad.

I booked a space for a party and paid £200 deposit. The day before the party, the manager called and cancelled, because they had forgotten they had another event. Six weeks after paying my deposit, they have still not paid it back, despite repeated requests.

Come into the pub often, know I’ll get a good pint when I am served by friendly bar staff. Hannah has always been lovely and very attentive.

Came here for the day with Bear the dog and we had a lovely time. Becks was accommodating and was an excellent host. Becks even rushed outside as I'd forgotten my bag. Very kind. Superb value for money. Would certainly recommend.

We came for lunch and all enjoyed our food alot. 50% off mains between 12 and 3pm mid week. We had chicken schnitzel, The big George burger and the prawn and chorizo kebab. We were met and served by Becks who was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend

I came for lunch with my mum and grandpa and we got the 12pm-3pm mid-week lunch deal. Three mains, three drinks, and a side for £46! We all loved the food: prawns, chicken schnitzel, burgers, cauliflower bites. Becks served us and was really helpful with the menu and efficient serving us. Definitely recommend!

I have waited weeks before leaving a negative review but my experience has sadly been appalling. I made a Christmas Day Booking through their online booking form at the end of October and paid a £30 deposit. I then received multiple confirmation emails. A week later I received a call informing me that this booking shouldn’t have been accepted as the Pub was full on Christmas Day for some time. Given the inconvenience this caused and the delay in informing me, the apology was fairly minimal. I was told my deposit would be refunded. A couple of weeks past and I still hadn’t had my deposit refunded. I sent an email which was ignored. I called multiple times, once being told to ring back when they’re less busy which is encouraging to know that returning deposits for unfulfilled bookings, after several weeks, is not seen as a priority. I then called up again today, over 3 weeks since the promise of my refunded deposit, to be greeted by a disinterested staff member who said the manager won’t be in for several days and that she’ll get them to phone me when they return. Hopefully this review will finally see my refund processed before having to take further action. *Deposit has now been refunded.

What a great find! We saw the listing in the Good Beer Guide and decided to pop along this lunchtime. Fantastic range of beers at reasonable prices, nice ambiance, and lovely service from Becks. We didn’t plan to eat, but got tempted by the menu (great to see some different items like kebabs and warm salads on a pub menu) - both our meals were very tasty, with large portions and great value too, especially on the lunchtime deal. We will definitely be going back soon.

Great pub. First time visiting. Bar staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Very busy due to the event that was on. Service was very quick. Food was great. Music and atmosphere was incredible. Definitely will return for the next soul event.

I came in for a Sunday roast dinner visiting my Grandmother, she doesn't get visitors too often so figured to take her out for a treat. Atmosphere seemed chaotic, staff seemed rushed but I guess that is to be expected on a Sunday afternoon. Strike one, I enquired about the sharer roasts only to find that there were none left. I found this to be a real shame, though credit to the chef the normal roast was still very good (-2 stars for lack of food availability). Strike two came with our first drinks - I have been told via friends and other reviews that the pints here are good. Against the recommendations, the pints were coming out flat - and upon asking was told that the barrel had recently been changed and that a lot of the stuff is gotten through. Puzzling... Strike three came when I noticed the staff cleaning glasses manually in the bar sink, and the flat pints finally make sense. It's 2024, you will lose business if you do not keep up with the times.

We organised a party at The Royal George (about 25 of us). Steve and his colleagues were so helpful and accommodating. They catered to all of our needs and were present throughout the function in case we had any requests or issues. We had the dining area booked out, so we had that area exclusively, and were able to order drinks from there instead of the main bar. We chose a food package which was fantastic - great value, lots of options and more than enough to go round! We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a venue to have a party. Many thanks Steve and team.

I took my two kids to the Royal George for lunch in the week. The service was great (becks served us), the music was fun and the food was fabulous. The half price weekday lunch menu was excellent value.

Disappointing experience. Food average and service average. Been at least a dozen times before for Sunday lunch/dinner and all great but this time was a fail. The ambience and staff was unwelcoming and almost unfriendly, except for one bar maid who was great. May be they had a bad day.

A nice traditional style pub. A good choice of food. Good sized portions for both kids and adults. Food was pleasingly tasty. The 2 ladies serving us ( a group of 4 adults and 3 kids), Lucy and Sienna were both lovely and accommodating.

A large looking pub that I think shrinks a bit on the inside, which I think gives it a nicer feel. Lots of outdoor seating in the front and the back and wheelchairs should have very little problems getting around this place - loads of room. The staff were lovely and happy to have a chat, giving us little snippets of information on the local area. The Guinness was excellent as was the Harvey's Sussex Best.

Lovely Sunday lunch, well cooked and big portions. Kids also well catered for with colouring and pens provided. A very pleasant Sunday lunch.

My two children and I went in for lunch during the week . It had good reviews, and we weren't disappointed. We had a Kids menu pizza, which they kindly took off the basil, the bbq chicken wings just fell off the bone and the fish and chips was great! The server , Becks , was also great. We will go back again .

Me and my Family love The Royal George and it's my default choice for Lunch or Dinner. Sunday Roasts are excellent here too.. All the staff are amazing especially today with Becks & Lucy. Also Steve and the other bar staff too... We always feel welcome here at The George. My Springer Luna loves it inside or outside and she gets a bowl of water and treats too. Highly recommend this Pub to anyone.
