The tall guy serving at bar needs to get some personality skills. Didn’t speak, only ordered 2 teas, but obviously didn’t like the prospect of carrying them to the front tables outside as gen I asked. Even more less enjoyed organising a toll receipt and almost threw it on the bar. Still don’t know if he can understand or speak English. However the young lady delivering teapot, coffee, milk etc was most pleasant. He probably just having a bad day, though he later came out to sit with a friend on a table near to us. JUST NEEDS reminding oh his duties!! I wasn’t loud abrasive or unpleasant, quite the opposite.

Yesterday we had a 'special birthday' lunch for 14 guests. The meal was very good and Noosh who looked after us was exceptional making sure all went smoothly. We had an area set aside from the main restaurant and it worked so well to have our own space for celebrating. All the guests thought it was perfect and a great success. Thank you,

We had several people staying over a 3 week period and the service and facilities are amazing and made us all feel very welcome. Food was fantastic and beer garden to the front of the property with the sun on it early evening was a great way to relax and enjoy after a hard days work.

Came here for a family celebration dinner and had a great experience here. Seamless from booking till payment. Accommodated large group without problems (pre booked) and our food arrived as ordered (pre-ordered). Our dedicated waited was tentative, friendly and always at hand. Lovely gastro pub. We stayed for a night. Rooms were nice but the pub downstairs is lovely. We only had breakfast which was very nice but the evening meals look lovely too. Nice friendly staff. Very reasonably priced too for room with breakfast.

Delicious food, beautifully presented and very promptly served. It can get very hot so ask for table away from real log fires

I’ve been here a few times recently and the service is never great, the guy that served us on this occasion was friendly but seemed a bit flustered, other staff also appeared stressed and over stretched. A few items were missing off our dishes and there were no apologies they just said ‘ oh ok, ill get that for you ‘ as if we were asking for something extra. Overall the food is ok but the service lacks any enthusiasm. The staff all look like they would rather be anywhere else but there. It’s a real shame as it could be a great place.

We had the bottomless bubbles brunch in one of the Moet Domes and it was just brilliant! The service was excellent, the food was very tasty and the cocktails were delicious! I would recommend anyone to do the brunch. Ryan looked after us and made sure we weren’t forgotten about outside!

Lovely fire burning ,great decor ,fab food and service

After an amazing Christmas day in 2023, we thought we would re book for this year but such a disapointment. Starter was cold, main was sent back 3 times and all they did was stick it under the heater to bring it back out. No you told us when we are ready for the main it will take 15 minutes, not 15 seconds and lumpy gravy is never acceptable. Desert was just odd, ice cold poached pear which was expected to be warm. Very let down this year except for the lovely service by Vlad. He was polite, understanding and very attentive.

Truly disappointing. I had the ordinary cheeseburger as £21.95 for a “dirty” burger just seemed too much. The burger was cooked to with an inch of its live, had more a texture and feel of cardboard. Then it was heavily over seasoned with black pepper, something that was also said about some squid we ordered. The chips had far too much salt on them and weren’t really crispy. My wife had fish and chips which was also a disappointment, chips not fluffy and fish that was, well just ok. A great shame as bar area and snug area were very cosy and an enjoyable place to have a drink and catch up with family.

1st time visiting. Greeting not great but just seemed inexperienced. Lack of staff uniform or even wearing the same colour spoilt the experience. Food excellent. Would go again.

This Pub/hotel should be absolutely buzzing. Stunning historic building (dating back to Henry VIII in a lovely area but there is something missing. Decent stay in an ok room (other family members complained of creaking floorboards from adjacent rooms) Radiators were on full blast, so needed attention. Breakfast was adequate and prompt. Parking good.

The food was excellent, very tasty, well presented and all orders were correct. The ambience was nice, although some tables were a bit noisy, but that happens! We were a party of 8 and everyone commented on how good the food was. Will definitely be returning!

I came with an elderly friend with mobility and disability issues. I initially requested and hoped we would be given a table far end of the pub where we had some space to move and I was able to sit next to her because of my friends hearing issues as well as speech issues that is not easily understood after suffering from a stroke (we previously had this spot). . Also, that end of the pub, it would be less busy and noisy, including not having staff brush by against us constantly when needing to attend other customers. Instead, we were placed on a tiny small table right towards the middle of the pub where it was extremely noisy being in the next to three/3 large tables/groups. I could not move closer to help and hear my friend as then we would be blocking the staff who would come past to attend other diners. My friend and I saw a couple of tables that were empty for majority of our stay and asked staff if we could move. I am appalled that they could not consider or help us in any way. This almost 87 year old lady was disappointed to say the least. No one showed enough care to consider her situation when it came to space and her disabilities. We came late unfortunately but I called to let them know, due to my friend’s situation and felt we may have been “punished”, as we were surprised by what we were given. I felt her situation was not taken seriously or into account in order to enjoy our experience. Extremely disappointed.

Went here for lunch with a friend at 13.00. Beginning of the week so it was dead. Just the way I like it because I’m no good with crowds. I wasn’t aware of this of course but it worked out well. Much later there were two other tables for afternoon tea. Our lunch was really good. What was impeccable was the service from the gentlemen working the restaurant. I didn’t get his name but he was absolutely awesome. Courteous. Polite. Friendly. Attentive when needed to be. Proper 5 star service. The meal was made all the more enjoyable because of him. I really should’ve got his name so management can be informed that he is their star employee during our experience there. Ok the hotel and grounds itself. The grounds need a bit more love. Even in winter. The entrance… trees lit aren’t symmetrical. The left side was unlit. So it’s not pleasing to look at. But that’s just aesthetic. It was lovely over all though with a bit more tender loving care. Inside, it’s fine enough. It’s not pretentious let’s. Would I come back? Absolutely! Food and service were top notch.

My friends and I had a delicious dinner. The restaurant was very welcoming and friendly I would like to say thanks to Awelina and Tomek for the amazing service. If you want to have a great day and a delicious food I truly recommend this place .

I visited yesterday, and while my burger was decent, I have serious concerns about the kids' menu. My daughter, who usually loves sausage and mash, barely ate her meal, which was unusual. Before leaving, I tried it myself and discovered the sausage was clearly not fresh, likely reheated, and the mash had a crust beneath the excessive gravy, tasting far from acceptable. This is not the first disappointment, but it will be the last. Food quality has consistently let us down, and I urge management to investigate and improve, especially for children's meals.

This place has changed from what I knew. It's a better version of it. It's beautiful and peaceful in the morning up there, love it.

Looks like it has recently had a refurb. Very comfortable and nice decor. Had dinner and the service was very prompt. Food was pretty good. I had the burger which was ok. The onion rings were great. I had booked two rooms for my team to stay overnight and they both said the rooms are lovely and they had a great sleep and breakfast was delicious.

The best steak sandwich we’ve ever had! The steak was cooked perfectly and their beef dripping is to die for! Lots to choose on menu. Relaxing atmosphere, especially next to their open fire. Great place

The staff have a good knowledge of food allergens. I had the creme Brulé with tea, as it is gluten-free. Scones with clotted cream and jam would be lovely, though, especially gluten-free scones as well. It would be lovely to sit outside and have cream tea on a sunny day

Management works hard but the staff extremely disappointing. They have been let down and could really go so far with their hospitality.

We visited Oatlands chaser last night for drinks and dinner, and had an absolutely wonderful time! Nush, who looked after us, made the evening extra special with her attentive and friendly service. From start to finish, she made sure everything was perfect, and we felt truly taken care of. The drinks were fantastic, and the dinner was delicious, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the overall experience was top-notch. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend this place for a great night out.

Visited on a Friday evening with a group of friends and our children. This place has such a lovely warm and cosy atmosphere, with an open fire, comfy armchairs and friendly staff. It was very busy, so clearly a popular place, yet it's spacious and there are lots of private corners. We found a table in one of these and had a little area all to ourselves. The food is varied and delicious, so something for everyone, and the prices are reasonable. Despite being busy the staff were on hand and accommodating. A special shout out to the lovely lady, Agnes, who was particularly attentive to our group - 5* customer service!

I love the Oatlands Chaser. It’s my local. It’s perfect for a family dinner, mums night out or even a spot of breakfast with a lovely coffee. The staff are so friendly and make you feel at home the moment you walk in the door. I love this place.

Went at lunch time with group of five. Not too busy and so nice and relaxed. Food was very good. Chose from the lunch menu which provided good value.

A Saturday booking. We booked a lunchtime table for 10 people including 2 toddlers and 2 babies in highchairs. The waiter service was awful. My granddaughter and mother in law had a glass bottle of juice fall off the waiters tray onto my granddaughters chair wetting her best dress and chair. Also they were serving drinks over the heads of the babies, not around them. They also served alcoholic drinks to people who asked for non alcoholic drinks as they were driving. The clearing of our table was not done quickly. They forgot 2 coffees and we had to ask for them. No apology or meal discount was given to us. I have a large gathering booked in for next Saturday and I am thinking about cancelling it. On saying all of that it was a shame because the food was very good. Congratulations to the chef, sorry that front of house let you down.

It's a beautiful Inn, the bar and restaurant are beautifully decorated. The food both at breakfast and dinner was delicious and the staff were all so welcoming and incredibly helpful. We really couldn't fault our stay. The room was perfect for a family stay, clean and with a great tv, tea and coffee facilities. There is nothing we would have changed.

Lovely food, lovely service, not a single thing I could ever complain about! Just take a look of the picture of their pizzas and spreads! My kids love it and so do we, couldn’t be happier and luckier with our local pub!

Lovely pub. Big dining and outdoor area. Menu has the right balance of upmarket food and pizzas and burgers for the kids. Loved the decor and the service was great.

Had a fantastic meal here for my sisters wedding Reception Food was high quality and a perfect portion size. I’ve been to high end restaurants in London and The Chaser is as good. Price was very reasonable for high quality food. Drinks especially the cocktails were nice. They were extremely good regarding any allergies etc. would definitely visit again
