There was life before the Prince of Wales chicken kyiv and there is life now. . . We went today to the Prince of Wales pub following a visit to Hampton Court Palace, a pub we have been to many times over the years as we are local to the area. The atmosphere, as usual was lovely, the staff were friendly and we found a little table to settle down at. We both ordered the chicken kyiv. We don’t normally get the same meal but it sounded great. And we were not disappointed! What a delicious lunch! We enjoyed the food so much, we couldn’t believe how lovely it was. A beautiful breaded chicken breast with a fresh garlic filling, creamy leek sauce and crispy French fries. Wow. It was beautiful. We felt compelled to write this review because we wanted to give them the praise they deserve for such wonderful food. Well done Prince of Wales!

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at the Prince of Wales Pub on Bridge Street in Hampton Court, and what an experience it was! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our family of five enjoyed a delicious meal, with fish and chips for me, the pie of the day for my husband, and burgers for the rest of the family. Every dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor – the fish was crispy, the pie hearty, and the burgers juicy! What really made our evening special was the exceptional service we received, especially from Samantha. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her warmth and professionalism truly stood out, and she made our visit that much more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a great meal in a cozy setting with top-notch service, I can’t recommend the Prince of Wales Pub enough. We’ll definitely be back!

We booked for Father’s Day several weeks ago and had to secure the booking with a deposit. When we arrived we found out the food was a 1.5 hour wait and waited to be served for 20 minutes but then gave up. I appreciate it is a busy day but do not know why they would over book or offer food to tables who had not made a booking if they did not have the staff. This frustration was coupled with the disgraceful price of a bottle of cider - £8.05!!

Had to ask for glasses for the water. Asked for 2 bass waited an age, then called the waiter to ask what was taking so long, was then told bass had run out, as was the salmon. Only fish was haddock, when that arrived the meal wasn’t very hot or appetising. The two fish and chips had the smallest portions of mushy peas, I think I’ve ever seen and the fish was In a really heavy batter. When asked about the replacement meals we said we were disappointed about the meal and also the amount of time we’d had to wait. They apologised profusely and removed the price of the two meals from the bill. We arrived at 18.10 and left at 20.20. The bill was £212 for five, after they had reduced the bill.

A nice pub over a number of levels with a sizeable beer garden out the back - some of which is covered. The staff were pleasant, but there was only one barman working when we arrived, so it was a but of a wait initially. Didn't eat, but the Sunday roasts looked HUGE!! There was quite a bit of space to walk around and I didn't think it felt like you were continually bumping into chairs, tables or people. The Guinness was excellent and the Moon Dance was nice if a little too cool for my friends taste.

Prices unclear on Menu so before ordering a meal for myself and friend we ordered a sausage roll for my husband who only wanted snack to give us idea of price and quality. Family of 10 visited early on a Saturday lunch time for a birthday meal. The mains took just under a whopping 2 hours to arrive, which seeing that we were amongst the first tables to order was a tad surprising. The Manager came over to offer the standard apology but to sod all effect. All in, pretty rubbish especially when no discount was offered. If you are going to offer a service , but fail to deliver and still expect a full payment. Expect this type of review. Food wise, the starters are interesting and I really enjoyed my chicken liver, but the mains really lack any effort. A restaurant chain feels the safer choice.

Although it was a busy day, I think the wait for drinks was way longer than it should be. We waited for an hour for 8 drinks (pints, nothing fancy). We didnt mind waiting but one hour was too much. Chips were ok as expected, however everything else was pretty bad for the price. Curry sauce tasted like thai green curry paste, very odd. Dry grainy mushy peas, sour tasting tartare sauce. Guinness was being poured in a rush with half the pint coming back as head. Not great considering how much money was spent.

We started out with a bowl of soup which hit the spot! Then, roast hake. Portion size was huge! My wife had lemonade while I enjoyed the pint of Moondance in a proper old school ale glass. They were luke warm. The turkey main course was disappointing. The veg and stuffing were cold and the turkey was very dry. The potatoes were lovely. The cheesecake was good but my pavlova was overly sweet and very dry, no cream or ice cream offered. Our bottle of Merlot hit the spot. Overall, it was only ok and we certainly won't repeat the experience next year. Rather overpriced especially with the 12.5% service charge.

Nice locals boozer. Went there as part of a 3-pub crawl around the town. Beer in good condition. Doorway to other bar has 'mind your head' sign on one side, but not the other. Be warned! My mate completely forgot about it and banged his head returning!
