Planning permission was eventually received for conversion of the pub into residential units - and work has now commenced on the car park. A great pity - as this pub has played a large part in the lives of the local Reigate Hill community for many decades, and now has gone forever.

A Christmas gathering for ten. Very disappointing turkey meal, small portion and dry turkey, although starter and dessert was ok. In spite of pre-ordering one dessert was unavailable. No napkins or condiments on the table, no wine list offered and service from main server was unfriendly and unprofessional. She informed us at 10.00pm she was closing at 10.30pm. No Christmas spirit or atmosphere. Would not recommend

Went with family for wife’s birthday. She had a brilliant Beef Bourgignon at The Pack Horse recently so was pleased to see it on the menu here. What a disappointment! Overcooked chewy beef. She sent it back - no apology but a-replacement meal offered. She had fish & chips. Fish nice but batter below par. Chips lovely. I had turkey which was nice if a bit small. Son pleased with his linguine. Grandsons had hotdogs. No complaints but not good value at at £8 worth £5 at most for small kid’s portion. Good beer. Will be sticking to Pack Horse in future not back to Pack Saddle

Had a fantastic day at The Sovereigns music festival, great atmosphere on the day, great fun for all family, bouncy castle, face painting for the grand children and absolutely fabulous music. It's a great community pub, all funds raised this year for Dementia Emma's House, a lot of work gone into organising and so well done. Thanks Sovereigns for a great day, will be looking forward to next year.

Excellent early evening meal, sat at a table by an open fire, simple menu with something to suit most peoples taste (greater choice at lunch time). Good choice of ales available. Excellent service run by the same family since 1970, no pub chain corporate image, no piped music, run like pubs used to be, will be going back for certain.

I end up in Spoons a lot due to work and have to give respect to the staff in this one. Even though they always seem understaffed they soldier on and take everything in their stride. It's a rowdy crowd as well. Always very professional and polite. Big up the crew especially ed and kat

The staff definitely make this place so special, cannot fault the fantastic service we received by all three of the staff in the restaurant who were attentive, friendly and professional, nothing seemed like too much trouble. They were all extremely customer focused. The big negative for us was we were in Birmingham for our anniversary and booked this place for dinner, even though it was an hour and a half drive, due to the amazing reviews about the steaks they serve. We checked the website before hand and it stated that it was festive menu only on the date we were attending, giving a link to the menu which was full of steak options. When we arrived at the restaurant we questioned the festive menu we were given and the gentleman told us it was an error and should have been removed from the website. We contemplated driving somewhere else but we stayed as trying to find somewhere else in Buckingham at 7.30pm on a Saturday evening would have been a pain. The food was really good, very tasty and well presented. A good evening all round, just slightly tainted because we wanted steak and were misinformed by the website.
