The White Hart in Horsham

Very quaint old fashioned pub in picturesque location. Food was great and reasonably priced. The staff were exceptional. Special shout out to Jodie and Jamie. Handled a busy period well. Also - saw a kingfisher from the bridge outside. So all round an amazing experience.

It would be a nice location had it not been torrential rain. The pub is very small, memu very limited but what we had was average.

The staff are friendly, but the menu is very restricted and not as shown online. A lot of money needs to be spent on the premises but it's for sale, so unlikely to happen.

This used to be a lovely place but is now AWFUL, poor menu , filthy tables, poor food, awful service and the smell of toilets outside is disgusting. A lovely venue ruined by poor owners. Don’t go there.

Unwelcoming staff and unfriendly service outside. Tables left dirty. Parking very unpractical and small. Nice setting and nice view but not worth it. We left without eating so cannot comment on the food- won’t be back to try

This has got to be the worst Ploughman’s I have ever had! The pork pie was disgusting and the bread was thin cheap white processed sliced bread , griddled a bit! Come on, how dare you and charge £16.00. Never again. The only good thing was the person serving, she was good.

I stopped here last night on my own (Monday 29th April 2024) in my campervan. It was a last minute stop. The guys could not have been more helpful and kind. I had no food on board as this was a last minute thing. The kitchen was closed on a Monday. They still cooked for me. I was so impressed with just how kind they were. The food was superb. Service was amazing. Highly recommend. Thankyou so much from me & my two dogs.

Excellent dog friendly pub, food was amazing and the staff are brilliant- my wife saw some rums and the staff talked her through them and let her have a little sample- will def be returning to this little gem 10/10

The Best roast dinner I have had in a very long time. Lots of vegetables. Staff were excellent as was the Manager. If I lived nearer I would go every Sunday .

Wonderful setting with plenty of seating inside and outside. The Sunday roast was very good, lovely tender beef. The staff were friendly and helpful with Jamie the owner serving and suggesting.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal on Weds. March 13 at The White Hart. The appetizer was delicious and elegantly presented. Both mains were fantastic. The accompanying bottle of wine from a local vineyard perfected the meal. We have been coming to this pub since we moved to the area in 2021. The summertime is always nice with the riverside dining options. The food never disappoints year around and the Sunday roasts are always great. Keep up the good work!

The best Sunday lunch ever. Being in hospitality myself I want a top quality Sunday roast when I eat out and this pub delivers every time. Good quality meat perfectly cooked, vegetables imaginative and plentiful Service friendly and efficient. We will be back soon

A lovely pub down by the River. Just had a fantastic Sunday Lunch which, in my opinion, is the best in the area..Beautifully tender beef and a multitude of vegetables all cooked to perfection. Pork and Chicken roasts were also available. The homemade Chocolate ice cream was like eating the best iced chocolate truffle, according to my wife,

If you're ever passing pop in! Me and my partner went here for lunch and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, roaring fire and a great lunch menu. We went for the fish finger sandwich and the chicken and bacon ones (we shared half each 😉). The bread was chard a little to add flavour, and the chips seasoned to perfection. There were little twists in the sandwich (like the chicken one having a little mushroom pate smeared inside). All in all a great little place with lovely people and food!!

We eat in Pulborough establishments alot. The chefs are skilled consummate professionals and their presentation and attention to detail is outstanding. Service and follow up during dining is polite and unimposing. Thank you White Hart for a perfect dining experience.

Having been lucky enough to have visited this lovely pub before I went to day with my friend.I hadn’t booked but got a lovely welcome and had great seats by the fire.Lovely staff member. We both had the fish finger sandwich which was cooked beautifully the bread was so tasty and the Side salad that went with it was really lovely to.If you haven’t visited please do give it a try.Lovely local treasure.

Delicious roast this Sunday. We had the roast pork and roast beef. Both cooked to our liking and served with very good vegetable dishes on side. We both had deserts, Black Forest cheesecake and rhubarb and custard Eton mess. Both really lovely.

Upon arrival and walking up the steps inside to order drinks; I asked the assumed "operations director" if they are serving drinks and food as the place looked rather derelict and previously open areas were closed with no signage. The gentleman confirmed they are serving food and drinks. I head to the bar and ordered drinks for myself and family (4drinks). The "operations director"quickly approaches me to let me know they need the table back in 45minutes after seeing my family and friends sitting outside apparently due to bookings inside and outside. I asked the gentleman again if he was sure it was fully booked and confirmed again it is. More and more couples and groups arrived without children and he was happy to serve them with no bookings. I feel this pub is clearly not family friendly even if you have well mannered children. Shame used to be nice !

We’ve been here a few times over the years with mixed but this visit was excellent. Before Ohin and his team took the reins food quality was variable and service painfully slow. This time the food was delicious and service was very good and attentive. The lovely weather and the view from the riverside terrace were the icing on the cake. (No we didn’t have cake because the main was just enough) but if we had I know it would have been just as tasty. We booked on the spot to come back for what we have been told is a legendary Sunday lunch. Thanks for a lovely lunch!

Very nice personable staff. Delicious food, we had sharing platters which were excellent and delicious. Sat outside which was very pleasant and the owner was very nice and helpful and went out of his way to make us feel welcome.

A lovely surprise after canoeing with Pulborough Paddles. Lunch outside on the river - thoroughly recommend the fish platter and the ploughman’s. Wine and coffee went down well. Lovely people serving and nothing was too much bother.

My husband and I passed the pub and thought the surrounding views were so pretty, we booked that day. Staff were very attentive considering the heat and they had to traipse from pub to veranda with meals. Our very good host was Sarah. Couldn't fault the food, although no pork and the beef was about to run out, but it was 3pm on a Sunday. My only quibble would be attention to detail. Themu veranda area could have done with a good clean, including spider webs. If the trees had been cut (not sure if allowed?) Then a captivating view of the River Arun and Bridge. There was I think only one toilet! And the sanitary bin was overfull, should have been checked and could have been better. On the whole very pleasant but could be a 10 instead of an 8.

Just popped in on the off chance and pleasantly surprised. Booking would be essential in the summer as the waterside location is popular. Visited with friends for Sunday lunch . Quaint pub in picturesque location overlooking the River Arun and ancient Stopham Bridge. We sat outside with a wonderful view of weekend kayakers passing serenely by . Very relaxing ambience as we ate our delicious home cooked food . The Sunday roasts are a speciality of the house and my husband’s roast pork was truly special . My sea bream with crayfish risotto was sublime. The staff were all welcoming. friendly and efficient . We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the White Hart and will certainly be back . Go there ... you won’t be disappointed !

In a previous review I said how the White Hart was your traditional English Pub that you want. Nothing fancy or pretentious - instead honest and good value.Our visit today left us delighted.The new management haven't washed away the past but are building on it. I hadn't had my mask (was driven there by my Father and I'd left all my spares behind) but one of the staff members didn't hesitate and provided me with one.

We visited the White Hart for lunch on Sunday to celebrate 2 family members birthdays. The location is beautiful and the food was delicious, especially the dessert special - tarte tatin which was very light and tasty. We all had the roast and two members of the party had the vegetarian roast option which they said was delicious. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us on that day so we couldn't make the most of the outside location, which is beautiful, and I can imagine will be very popular on better weather days. The people that run the restaurant are lovely and very welcoming and the staff are efficient. We definitely recommend this establishment.

Admittedly a more expensive wine but £13 a glass? To use an ancient English saying,'Methinks you are taking the piss'. Can't afford you, bye bye.

We were on a break for a few days in Sussex and decided on The White Hart for Sunday lunch. Already a great location sitting next to the river and Stopham Bridge we had one of the best Sunday lunches in a very long time. The beef from the Goodwood Estate was exquisite and beautifully cooked. Thought twice about posting a review as I wanted to keep this our secret in case it gets too busy! The owners are from Goa and delightful - warm and welcoming. We shall return! If we can get a table.

Me and a couple of friends caught up over a couple of beers and decided to have some food all we all went for there bacon Brie burger and it was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Nice cosy atmosphere in the pub and lovely friendly staff, would definitely go back there!

This is a brilliant family-run pub with an amazing selection of food and drink to complement the view. It's a must visit if you are local or just passing through. I had the ham hock to start which was delicious and the burger was probably one of the best I've ever had. That was just the lunch menu. Can't wait to come back for a la carte at dinner time.

We spent a very pleasent evening as a couple and both had the fish specials which were superb. The next evening the family joined us so we sampled the burgers and fish and chips all were very acceptable the specials were superb again The service was wonderfully friendly I would highly recommend this pub. We booked a table for Saturday lunch , the location next to the river with views of the old bridge are idyllic , the service was very good and the waitress told us they had taken over the establishment within the last two week , Three of us had the fish of the day from the specials board which was very nice served with a selection of vegetables , they have a good wine list and even offered cocktails one of our group had the Expresso Martini .

Basic food for an expensive price, very small spirit measures (just showed the bottle to the glass) and slow service. Beautiful location.
