Molly was superb looking after us during a very busy Sunday lunch period. Nothing was too much to ask. The Hotel Manager was marvellous stepping in to cope with huge numbers of people turning up on a sunny day. Food was excellent 11 out of 10!

Amazing pub with great staff and delicious food. We came as a table of eight for Dinner, with one having an allergy. They have a tablet that you can select allergens and it provides you with items on the menu you can eat, which is brilliant. The food is lovely with lots of options. Shout out to Jess, who was amazing throughout our stay!! We have already booked again for a family birthday meal in December. P.S Is the Shepherds Pie with Lamb coming back on the menu? :)

A lovely evening spent at the Firecrest! The staff were so amazing and attentive. We had my elderly mother with us so they found us a table which meant she didn’t need to walk to far and the manager just appeared with the key to use the ‘easy access’ toilet without being asked. The food was great along with the service! It was my first time of visiting the Firecrest and I was really impressed. Thank you to the manager, I believe her name was Amanda, who went above and beyond whilst being discreet!

Over from Melbourne for Christmas staying for 10 days. Our first night has been great, even with jet lag. The manager is extremely helpful, warm, funny, and so are his staff. Our food was so yummy, quick, and well cooked. Would highly recommend for an evening, or pop in after a walk around the Punchbowl for soup, sanga, or full main meal. We had live acoustics passing in the corner, which made it very cosy.

I had the lamb rump and my partner had the buttermilk chicken burger, both were superb, my lamb was pink and juicy and absolutely superb. The staff here are so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, they even made a fuss of our dog, with off cuts of beef as a special treat. Highly recommend 😊

Went here for a friend’s birthday party. Lovely friendly staff. Good menu choice. They were very busy but our order was taken promptly and we didn’t have to wait long for the food. We were a party of 10 yet all the food came out together and was hot and well presented. A good time was had by all. Would definitely go here again.

Roast was tough, dry and chewy. Between us, we had pork belly, chicken, beef and lamb. All of us was tough/dry. Roast Potatoes had been pre cooked and sat under heat lamp and were dry and flavourless. Yorkshire’s dry and chewy. So disappointing. Very flavourless too, really lack of seasoning. It never used to be like this. Starters, and the Kids meals were good (fish and chips/burgers). On a plus side, the table service was good. Play area is great, especially the climbing trees in the bushes. Desserts and drinks all good. If we went back; we would definitely not order a roast dinner.

This establishment really needs to improve its staff training. The food was good, but the lack of awareness of allergies could have dire consequences. Suggestions to improve: Lost orders: a numbering system and board in the kitchen where orders are recorded and marked as completed would avoid this. Customer service/communication: when our order did not arrive, we asked a waiter what was happening. They said that they would get back to us but didn't. (We eventually had to go directly to the serving area to chase the order up.) Likewise, when we asked a member of staff about a refund, they said they would get back to us but didn't. Staff training in the need for good communication would avoid this. The most concerning part was that two of our meals were wrong, including a vegetarian being served a dish with meat in it, which was not evident until it was cut into. I spoke to the manager about this. They were understanding about the other issues, but did not seem to understand the implications of incorrect food being served to people. They said that staff in the kitchen have had training on allergies. This is not enough. Waiters also need to know that giving someone the wrong food could be fatal. This needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency and whether the staff are permanent or temporary/seasonal is irrelevant. The food was good when it was finally sorted and the venue is nice, so I hope that the staff training is addressed.
