Poplar Farm in Test Valley

I visited on Saturday around lunchtime and we were served by Megan V. She was so helpful and unbelievably patient with my elderly grandparents even in a busy environment she took her time to listen to them talking about the good old days! Couldn’t fault her, although we haven’t always had the best experiences here with staff members I couldn’t fault our service Megan went above and beyond!

Tracy was amazing, great service, nice bants, service was A class. Will definitely be back. The food was also very lovely.

Always a wonderful time at the Poplar farm. We walk for bar snacks and a pint. Lovely atmosphere highly recommend!! Thanks to Tracey on the bar who’s always welcoming and positive :)

Food and service is here is absolutely brilliant! It is becoming a regular, so nice. Tracey is absolutely amazing, very friendly and welcoming and is an amazing server. Me and my partner couldn’t stop smiling when she said we are her fav couple!

Regularly meet with friends at this pub and it’s always fantastic. Food is always hot and fresh, and always a good selection of beers and wine. Tucked away in the corner by the fire for a relaxing evening. Dining room side seems to always be very busy when I have visited so would probably book if you are wanting a little more formal dining than the pub side.

Welcoming atmosphere. Great service and excellent food. We had the lamb Shank and Ribeye Steak both are very tasty . Will certainly visit again

Had a lovely evening for a couple of drinks with my family to celebrate an 18th birthday! Tia from the Bar served us she was so friendly and such a lovely person , fab customer service and amazing drinks! definitely recommend ☺️

We visited on Friday night for a Christmas meal, we arrived early and were served for a pre meal drink by warm & friendly staff. The meal was very good, we went for a mix of the festive menu and regular menu. The choice was very good, the food was nicely presented and packed with flavour The Venison pie , Steak and burgers all went down well. Kitchen accommodated some requirements excellently ,all topped of with friendly and cheerful waitress Jay who made our evening very enjoyable. Would recommend and will be returning. Happy Christmas to all the front and back of house staff👍🎅

Due to weather conditions we had to have a substitute works Xmas do, so we decided to start our local festivities off at The Polar. They were able to accommodate us at short notice. We were also able to chose between the normal and festive menus to cater to everyone’s preferences. All our food was incredible! The staff, as always, were polite and friendly and the service was amazing, nothing was too much bother, but big shoutouts to Megan, Andrew & Michael! Can also highly recommend the Raspberry Mojitos too! Will definitely being going back to try something new from their menu! Merry Christmas!

Had our team Christmas lunch, about a dozen of us. The service was great and, as always, the pub was bright and clean, a lovely place to be. Sadly, there was no christmas atmosphere. No crackers, no pigs in blankets, no christmas music. TBF, the food served was great and I do recommend the PF, just not for Christmas.

Amazing pub with great staff and delicious food. We came as a table of eight for Dinner, with one having an allergy. They have a tablet that you can select allergens and it provides you with items on the menu you can eat, which is brilliant. The food is lovely with lots of options. Shout out to Jess, who was amazing throughout our stay!! We have already booked again for a family birthday meal in December. P.S Is the Shepherds Pie with Lamb coming back on the menu? :)

I come along to this pub every Tuesday to meet friends for knit and natter, but every first Tuesday of the month is also quiz night. We always join in and sometimes do well but always have a great evening. Atmosphere is lovely, cheesy chips are a particular favourite and dogs are particularly well catered for.

Very nice 3 course meal on a Tuesday and joined in the pub quiz! Maisey gave us great service and the food was up to standard. Very nice experience!

Came for the Quiz. Great fun with our friends having a laugh with drinks. Tracy is such a great hostess and the team is really attentive.

It's a wonderful place and very festive. The atmosphere makes it feel like home and the food is absolutely amazing and friendly service.

Came in for a roast and wow I was impressed. Had the trio and I have never had a roast like it. Came with all the trimmings and was piping hot and extremely delicious! Thank you to all the chefs! Service also worth 5 stars! Maisy looked after us super well. The young man hosting was also a delight. Can’t wait for next week

Firstly this pub has a amazingly warm and friendly atmosphere, secondly the choice of food is excellent, and of a high standard, thirdly the staff are really very friendly, in our case Tracey looked after us and was the cherry on the cake, as far as I'm concerned. Highly recommend a visit.

Very long wait on food, and the food that did arrive was nothing short of awful. We have been several times in the past, but this is the third time under the current management that we have had a poor experience. We’ll certainly not be trying a fourth time. They really need to do something with their chefs as they will be the death of this business. Staff stood around chatting amongst each other uninterested in the customers experience. Just a very poor birthday meal out.

This is a great place for a bit of food. Love the look, feels comfortable and welcoming helpful staff. We had a great server by the name of Jess. Helped us, along with the chef cater for a difficult allergy with no fuss. We look forward to returning.

Me and my husband visited this pub for the first time today. It was very cosy and I loved the wooden beams with fairy lights. Tracy was very welcoming and attentive. The food was amazing! We both had the calamari to start and it was probably the best batter we have ever had. My husband had the burger and I had the sea bass which was equally as nice. The reason for taking off a star is because of the cleanliness of the women toilets, although Tracy sorted it out quickly it was still unacceptable.

Amazing service, quiet and perfect for families, we came with our young babies and were offered a quiet area to sit. Food was great and our waitress Tracey was super friendly too which made for a great evening out. Recommend

Attempted to go for a drink with my father on Friday evening. Waited 5 minutes at the bar then the bar lady said she would get to us, suggesting we should sit down in the bar area. We were ignored from then on despite more people arriving and being served. We walked out after just shy of 15 minutes.
