Overpriced food, small portions, poor quality, and we were left waiting long periods despite being extremely quiet with very few customers!!! We will not be returning!

I had lovely evening with my team members. However, the woman who looked like a scene out of Harry Potter decided it was fair to scream us out The door when a work colleague asked her for her wand. I was left distraught. The potential is exponential, however, the leading figure in this bar was a flipsnot.

Nice atmosphere, with cosy fire. Staff friendly but drinks & food extremely expensive (nearly £18.00 for a beer & Prosecco) & small food portions. It’s a shame but would not attend this pub again.

Very pretty exterior and plenty of parking. Inside it's vast. Had booked a table so introduced ourselves at the bar and shown our table. Server said she'd be 'right back' to take our drinks order. 5 minutes later...... nothing. Husband goes to the bar No-one behind it. Husband then picks up a menu and wine list. We wait. Eventually we get food and drinks. Compared to our Fuller's local on the banks of the Thames this place is expensive. Location good. Food adequate. Service poor.

I tend to avoid this pub as find it not well managed and overpriced. Was in watching the Euros as being heavily advertised. A great large TV adorns the covered outside area and lots of space to sit. However no amplified sound so nobody could hear the game. Watch at home with your friends and save money Oh and they ran out of Guinness at the start of the night. Get a pub manger in as opposed to an administrator in to actually run this place like a pub

A memorably rude, surly waitress works at The Links who obviously dislikes customers. A large group was dining so unable to order until 7pm. I asked this particular waitress very nicely if we could order food literally a few minutes prior and she replied “Well it’s NOT 7 o’clock yet. Is it !!?” and stomped off. I went to the till to order the food and told the manager what had happened. He said I should not be disrespectful. I only asked if I could order food 😯😯😯. He then said I could not order until 740pm. We upped sticks and left. Major customer staff training needs to happen. Steer well clear.

A group of us went for dinner this evening. I think we ended up tipping twice. First, there was something on the receipt about a service charge of 12.5% - fine. However, then, when we went up to pay on the card machine, we were all offered the option to tip. I did say to the waitress 'I thought tip was included in the bill' but she didn't answer so I pressed 10%. When we got outside, we discussed it and everyone said they had tipped. One of the ladies got the receipt out and saw there was a service charge of 12.5% already factored into the bill. We did feel this soured our evening and we won't be returning - asking for two tips came across as greedy. On the upside, the food was nice (though nothing special). The decor was lovely. The loud band did mean that we struggled to hear each other, so left the restaurant a lot earlier than we had anticipated!

I was visiting the area and made a sudden stop at this pub. I brought my dog in for a Sunday lunch. I was immediately served at the bar by someone experienced and seated in the snug. I ordered lamb roast a dish I haven't had in a long time. The lamb fell off the bone, Yorkshire pudding was perfect, and a nice selection of vegetables. I wasn't overly keen on the potatoes and preferred a nice crunch. I was served a well-kept London Pride. I didn't have to wait, and the pub wasn't surprisingly that busy. I believe the cook was Josh, and I requested at the bar to extend my thanks. I then continued home a happy full person with a happy dog!

Unfriendly pub. Staff seem more interested in looking after their interests than their customers. We were told that we shouldn’t sit in restaurant area as staff were laying tables for following day. I was tasked with finding a pub in East Hampshire for a family get together that was dog friendly, baby friendly and served vegetarian pizza - not easy but the Links Tavern could offer all three. We were made very welcome, including the dog, and the food was excellent. We all enjoyed our mains two of which were from the specials menu. The small puddings were an excellent option as well. Parking was easy too in the large car park. We are already planning our next visit.

We enjoyed a great lunch here last weekend. Comfortable surroundings, warm and hospitable staff and good food choices. Two of us had starters for lunch as a sandwich plus chips is just too much. We endless wish pubs would stop over-feeding and provide an option please not to have fried add-ons. We could, of course, leave them but no one should be wasting food. Despite this annoyance I’ve still given 5 stars as we enjoyed our food and the visit. Maybe they’ll read this an listen.

Went with our walking group, 14 of us. I had preorderd the ORIENTAL BROTH from the main menu. A small bowl of bits of greenery(unrecognisable), minute bits of something vegetable, several pieces of oyster mushroom, all swimming in very salty and over spiced liquid, mostly watery soy sauce. This dish was well overpriced for what it was. I was disappointed with the meal; there was not enough substance to it to call it a main dish, it was more like a starter. Some rice noodles would have improved it I think. No staff came to see if we were happy with our meals, nor were we asked if desserts and coffee were wanted. They missed the chance to trade up.

Very disappointed. We have previously had some very good food here but not this time. There was no steak and they had also inexplicably run out of mashed potato. This was replaced by the supposedly three times fried chips which were clearly nothing of the sort - soggy oven chips.I had the special starter of tempura king prawns - no tempura batter in sight and just plunked on a smear of mayonnaise. Minimal garnish and no dipping sauce. Think these were straight out of the freezer two. My salmon main course was supposed to have an olive salsa. In fact it was sitting on a large number of both green and black olives which completely obscured the taste of the salmon. My brother had a chicken Kiev which was huge and also seemed to be straight from the freezer as did the beer battered haddock I see they are advertising for a chef - they need one!!All the staff, who seem very young, were lovely hence we left a tip. However the food is not worth it at the moment.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat and a drink with my partner after a game of golf next door. Staff are friendly, food served promptly and tasted great. Special of sea bass and aubergine salad. Will return when we play here again in the new year.

It was so nice to see our local booming last Sunday. We don’t often go out for Sunday roasts as expectations are too high however, the Links produced a delicious and homely Sunday roast. We always have a great laugh with the staff, so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend for all occasions.

We decided to drop by for an early dinner after taking our Labrador for a country walk, we had previously visited for Sunday dinner which was amazing so decided to try the weekly menu. We had a great reception from the team, everyone was happy to see us and made a great fuss of Harvey, Dan made us feel at home and provided some great recommendations. We had the burger which was delicious along with some great chips. Sadly we couldn't manage dessert however we will return to try again, many thanks for a fantastic meal, thoroughly recommend to all. Great meal, fantastic food and lovely beer!!!

Lovely pub, excellent beer, good welcoming and efficient staff but ……….. run out of Pinot Grigio & Chilean Sauv Blanc. Starter of topped bruschetta - good ingredients but one small thin slice of bruschetta is pretty mean for £6.50. The Slow braised feather blade of beef was tough and chewy - my understanding of such meat is that it is soft and tender. We so want to support our local establishments after all the tough times they’ve had but you’ve got to do better than this.

Lovely interior and excellent service but how can a pub of this calibre not have 3 of the wines we wanted, what a sin. I can understand the restaurant running out of some dishes on a busy day late on but at 7.30 they had run out of 3 dishes, chicken kiev, braised beef and trout. The menu is not that big so to have this many dishes off the menu, left very little choice. The fish and chips were nice and a good size. They really let themselves down on poor stock management as it had everything else going for it. All the very young waiters were excellent and a lovely venue, what a shame.

Came in on Monday Night, greeted by all the staff as we found ourselves a table. Lovely and welcoming! We sat in the Bar and was told about all the menus! So much to choose from; main menu and so many specials! I jumped right for a Chicken Kiev. I saw one go to the table next to us, they went with chips, but with the creamy sauce that comes with it, stick with the mash 10/10!It was perfect, and was such a great homemade pub classic! My brother went with the Trout Gnocchi dish off the specials. Came out so beautifully presented, such a lovely plate of food, which my brother throughly enjoyed! My Dad went for the Pie of the Day: Steak and London Pride (which I love that it is made with a Fullers Ale given it’s a Fullers pub, a lovely touch) he did go for the chips, and they were some of the best pub chips I have ever had! Triple Cooked Chips are the only way to go now! All the Links Staff were wonderful, and the atmosphere was fabulous. It was great seeing the manager working too! He was very polite and accommodating. We did notice a table next to us being difficult and unreasonable. You only ever see negative reviews, so here is a genuinely, true and honest great Review for The Links!! Well done guys and we will be returning very soon!!

We opted for The Links for our first family gathering (16 people!) post lockdown. The staff couldn’t have been anymore helpful; nothing was too much trouble. The whole process was smooth and easy, as large groups can be so stressful to arrange. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Please read this, even if it's the only one review you do read!!!My wife and I decided to try The Links Tavern for a quick main course and drink. To be honest the booking worked fine and we arrived, as planned, at 7pm to a rather quiet pub. It had been a couple of years since we'd been there for the obvious reasons and upon asked to sit down, our first waitress then arrived to say that we had to order drinks and food at the bar. We had a quick look at the menu and was then approached 30 seconds later by another member of staff, subsequently the Manager, for our order of drinks. The beer and wine arrived quickly..... no issues there then! Our food order was then taken and my wife had decided on the Chicken Kiev with spinach, oyster mushrooms and bacon, with triple cooked chips ordered to replace the mash. I decided on a burger with an additional streaky bacon addition with the aforementioned triple cooked chips. Order was taken efficiently and we sat back to enjoy our refreshments.Aftyer 10 mins or so, the food arrived and my wife and I were surpised to see some sort of sauce beneath the Kiev. We both wondered where the mushrooms and spinach were hiding and, upon further investigation, low and behold some resemblance of spinach, although minute, was hiding within the sauce! But, who had ordered the sauce???As for my burger...... it was acceptable although the extra portion of streaky bacon would have been better if it had been cooked a little more. What really got my goat was the "triple cooked chips"..... soft, firm on the inside.... one thing there were not was triple cooked! As per usual we werte approached by another member of staff to ask if everything was as expected.... to which we politely expllained that things wern't. He did what was exoected and apologised and said he would call over his manager....... for which we were appreciative and then started our wait... and wait.... and you guessed it... our wait. No manager! After 10 mins of waiting we both decided thatit was time to give in on the food and I stood to go the the bar and find someone. a chap was engrossed in his till or something else at the end of the bar but eventually saw me, came across and asked if he could assist? I said I was waiting for a visit from the manager, to be told he was the manager and that he did not want to come across whilst we were eating!! But he came and saw the uneaten Kiev plate and the chips on mine. We explained that the Kiev was inedible to be told that he'd sold 4 already that evening and could therefore not accept that we were correct in our feelings. I believed that this level of customer care was already severely lacking, but I then proceeded to ask how triple cooked chips were prepared..... In short, I was not impressed with his style of management or acknowlegment of his and the pubs bad service. His idea of a customer focussed, level of management response was to take off my wifes food off the bill and apologise for "us not being satisfied with the service"Let me be clear, I was not expecting Egon Ronay service or cuisine, I was not checking for Michelin Stars and I was not dining in the Fat duck or Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons. I was in a pub in Hampsire and only expected food as described on the menu.... to which I didn't get and when mentioning this to the staff was told that they weere sorry it did not meet my expectation. The venue is great, the location is good, the beer was perfect.....if only the food had matched the menu and the level of service from the manager had been as desired. What a real Shame!

We went for one of the midweek roast events and what a disappointment it was. There was a very lukewarm welcome when we arrived and we were directed to the table with a point of the finger. The food was served quickly and just plonked in front of us. There was no asking what we’d pre-ordered so two of us got the wrong meals. This was rectified when we told them. It was hot but was very mediocre. I think my lamb died of old age. I couldn’t cut it, it was that tough. The potatoes were OK, the peas were peas that had once been frozen, carrots overcooked, the gravy was like water, the parsnips were OK and the saving grace was the cheese sauce on the cauliflower/brocolli. The Apple crumble was nice but again just plonked in front of us. The custard was lumpy. How much was all of this? It was a whopping £25 a head without so much as a jug of water on the table. It was daylight robbery. We wont be back.

No longer a pub - it was closed down months ago and has been undergoing a lot of construction work. There is local talk of it having been purchased some type of medical conglomerate.

Outstanding first class service, absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Harry went above and beyond and we were and are really grateful especially given the reason for our stay. When needing a room in Petersfield, we have no reason not to stay here again, 100% satisfaction guaranteed. Thank you to all the staff that worked during our stay xx
