Came here for breakfast this morning. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. The full English breakfast though was over priced and very disappointing. I was told they were having maintenance work in the kitchen so was told food will be served on bamboo plate and tea will be in paper cup. I said that's fine. When it arrived all the food was piled on one plate! The scrambled egg was tasteless there was no seasoning and the sausages were grizzly (not the first time I've had breakfast there and had grizzly sausages) . The rest of it was ok but I felt like I was eating part of the bamboo plate as it came away whilst I was eating it which put me off. Would of been better with 2 paper plates. They also charged me for pot off tea when I had to have it in the take out cup. Price for 1 person was £14.50 which is absolutely ridiculous! Especially when it wasn't great. Garden centre is lovely and so are the staff I come here regularly but the cafe was a let down and very over priced!

We ordered Sunday lunches, it came as 2 plated meals, nothing wrong with that, however the place was not busy and we ordered at 230pm and the food came just after 305, it was cold so we Sent it back and when it was re presented it was at best Luke warm, the meats were overcooked and dry, the broccoli was soft and mushy, the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and looked like it might even be bought in rather than home made but can't confirm that, all in all it was the worst Sunday lunch we have ever had and for a place that came with such a high reputation it failed on all counts, we will never eat there again.

Awful lunch. I ordered a ploughman’s sandwich, the bread was like hovis bread, was supposed to be lovely brown bloomer bread? The cheese was all sweaty in the bread as well, looked like it had been left out and partially melted, really put me off. The pasta salad had a hair on it. The food has really gone down hill here. Used to be really good. Paninis used to be cooked, portions used to be generous. Really disappointed- shall go elsewhere from now on. Slow on the tills. Could be so efficient. It is not hard to make a good panini or sandwich. With decent bread when you are paying £9 a sandwich, you expect a good standard. Not impressed.

Afternoon tea was amazing great value for 20.95. This includes tea or coffee and also unlimited soft drinks not just your run of the mill coke or lemonade but really nice small bottles of various flavours. Sandwiches were really good and scones were still warm. Cakes were excellent. Takeaway boxes if required. Have had numerous Afternoon teas and this ranked amongst the best.

I had the blue diamond club sandwich 😞 which came with three slices of bread and minimal filling and one slice of bacon. Spoke to chef and shrugs his shoulders and says that all I'm aloud to put in. It came with 7 chunky chips which were nice and a bucket load of coleslaw which was vile. For the price £12.95 it was very poor. I hope my review will be considered and adjustments to the filling will be rectified for customer satisfaction. It has put me off eating here again which is a shame as rest of the facilities are very good.

This was a pitstop lunch. We always seek out Blue Diamonds as they are always well managed. This one was no exception, with clearly well-motivated staff working hard at a busy lunchtime. It's a huge improvement on the system when W**vale ran it years ago. And yet ... 1) I had a coronation chicken which was the weirdest I have ever tried. I left most of it. 2) The system is you stand in a long, slow, queue to get to the single operational till. You discuss what you want with your other half. One of you then has to go and find a table so as to quote the table number at the till. The seating area is very large, and we ended up using texts to confirm table number and meal preference. There was plenty of time to do this -- did I mention the queue was long and slow? Eventually we were seated, and much later our coffees came. The food part arrived considerably later, and the coffee was long since finished. I would have liked a second coffee to wash the food down, but I did not dare start the queue process again. In any case the coffee would have arrived after an eternity. Friendly suggestion: consider operating a second till. Get more staff on food prep.

A large well stocked garden centre, with a lovely gift area, food area etc. very dog friendly. Lovely selection of cakes in the coffee lounge area with separate seating area for dog owners, although you are sitting in the main walkway, so this could be improved with some screening. The biggest negative were the unfriendly and unhelpful staff standing around talking in the coffee shop whilst two others were rushed off their feet. The garden centre is supplemented by independent retail shops like Lakeland, pets corner, etc who were all very welcoming and dog friendly. A good afternoon out and shopping experience. Could do with a couple of dog waste bins though.

I ordered fish, chips and mushy peas. The batter on the fish was over done and rock solid. Frozen chips just warmed up certainly not gourmet. 2 dessert spoons of mushy peas miserable quantity. I asked the manager for a sharp knife to cut the fish with which they don't have. The meal was replaced which was equally as poor which I left. For the price I paid it was rubbish. Must do better, plenty of room for improvement. The tills by the dresses were closed so had to queue up behind a coach load of passengers. More staff required during this busy time. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Sunday lunch at the restaurant was somewhat disappointing, especially for the price. We ate garlic chicken and thyme roast supreme on a Sunday afternoon for £15.95. The serving was rather small for a roast and wasn’t particularly well presented. The chicken was extremely dry and the potatoes were partly blackened inside, so not very appetising! Would expect far higher quality produce for the cost and whilst not considered to be a restaurant per se, I’d expect a much better standard of faire! Shame that the quality appears to have dropped at this establishment. They could do far better!

Breakfast with Santa was an absolute shambles! We arrive at dead on 8.30am, were one of the first families to sit down at the 'communal'(!!) U shaped table - yes, you have to share with other families! A poorly printed piece of colouring and crayons were laid out for each child, and some weird clear baubles for the children to fill with scraps of rubbish! At 9.15am, we were still waiting for a drink or some food... despite being asked twice if we would like some squash and hot drinks. Food finally arrived, and compared to the family next to us, we didnt all have bacon, black pudding or hash browns... in the end, we divided up what we did have between us and the kids. Tea and coffee arrived, from a teapot on the table by the door - stone cold! The staff (elves) were trying their best, but were completely overwhelmed! One member of staff apparently wasnt 'trusted' to pour hot drinks! One staff member repeatedly apologised to us, saying that she was very sorry that the whole breakfast had been a disaster! She even admitted that the coffee was disgusting and that they should stop serving it! Apparently 6 staff hadn't turned up to work! (The normal excuse). Finally, 'Santa' read a story (poorly) and handed out presents to the patiently waiting children. My 4yr old recieved a lovely gift - but suited for a 2/3 yr old - it was a 12 piece puzzle set!! All in all - we paid £59 for 2 adults and 2 children for breakfast and it was an absolute rip off! Never ever again, would I waste my money booking here. We were so disappointed and were not the only people who felt this way.

Don’t know where to start. Maybe I should title this review….Greed. Firstly the main shop literally everything is over priced. All I heard were people saying the same thing. Picking items up looking at the price and putting it straight back down. Just a thought price things at a more realistic price you may actually sell more !. The restaurant is a waste of time and money. One poor chap working in the tea and coffee area …no wonder our drinks turned up mildly warm. Food so over priced for standard food you could get from a food van at the side of the road. I have had enough of companies jumping on the over price band wagon.

Came here with the family to walk around the shops and get a bite to eat. Clearly a lot of thought goes into the shop stock, layout and feel of the place, and it's quite nice. What I don't understand is the complete lack of quality of the restaurant and the so-called 'food'. Firstly it can get very busy so that should be a red flag for those even considering eating here as the service is slow to put it mildly. Secondly, it has a large conservatory area straddled alongside it which had a strange urine smell about it and a compete lack of aesthetic appeal. Then when the food did eventually arrive you quickly realise you've been completely ripped off. The expensive burger was tasteless (one of the worst I've had in recent memory), the chips were under-cooked, and the baked potatoes seem like they've been microwaved. So stop ripping your customers off with this disgusting excuse for a restaurant. Hopefully you'll read this and take note but you have to make some drastic decisions here because it won't last at this rate. Fresh ingredients, an experienced chef, well trained staff & a bit of attention to detail. That's all it takes, it's not rocket science.

Used to have a reasonable selection which was still pricey for basic garden centre food, but ok if you were at the garden centre or using the children’s soft play for convenience. They have changed the menu and is now very expensive for basic food. You could for example get a sausage roll and two salads for £7.95 this now costs £12.90. Soup was £4.95 and is now £6.95. Generally everything has gone up my inflation++++ since the summer. There are far better cafes, restaurants, pubs locally with much more atmosphere and better quality food. They have also, I suspect deliberately left the old menu on the website so it looks cheaper if you look beforehand

My wife and I went to look at the Christmas decorations and decide to have a cream tea that was advertised on a display board by customer service. You have to order at the till after you have found a table, glancing out over the restaurant from the till it looked like it might be difficult to find a table without the mess from previous customers, they didn't seem to be being cleared. We found a clean table and ordered two cream teas, one savoury, one normal. We waited 20-30 mins and no sign of the food. Cream teas are basically a snack and should be readily available? I went to the counter and asked if it would be ready soon, the person behind the counter searched the tickets and found ours, it seemed like our order hadn't been started yet. A few minutes later two teas arrived with no scones, I said that we had ordered cream teas and the person went away. In a few minutes one scone was deliver but without the cream, my wife went to the counter and someone went to the kitchen and sorted her some cream. When it was delivered I asked where the second savoury scone was and the lady went to the kitchen again (which seemed miles away) and came back with my cheese scone, however, without the cheese and chilli jam. That came after the next trek to the kitchen. In summary, you go to a place like this on a Sunday afternoon to relax, however, with the rubbish on the tables and the trouble trying to get our food I felt more stressed than a day at work. I could see lots of people chasing up their orders at the counter probably feeling the same . The staff were polite, they were desperately under staffed because people hadn't turned up for work that day, however, hospitality is their reason for being, if staff are not turning up they are employing the wrong staff. Its no excuse, I will never go back to that restaurant.

We arrived with our dog, as we knew they are allowed and also knew there is a specific eating area where they are welcomed too. When you arrive you can’t go straight into the building, you have to turn to the right and end up walking through a food area where we weren’t sure if the dog was allowed, but as it is the only way in we went through anyway. We had a stroll around the various retail areas and garden centre, but it’s all a bit of a jumbled mess with no cohesive layout. We decided to stop for a cup of tea and a bite to eat and eventually found the dog friendly area after asking a member of staff. Again you have to walk through the general eating area, so we didn’t think this was the right way, but apparently it is. When we go there it was really warm inside (it was a bright, sunny day) so we decided to sit outside, however this turned out not to be possible as many tables hadn’t been cleared and there were wasps flying around everywhere. There were 100’s of them, simply because of the large amount of food waste on the tables. We decided not to stay and took our custom elsewhere.

Having been here many times before, we ordered lunch and waited in anticipation of some tasty food arriving. Shortly after we had ordered, the first lunch arrived with one waitress, one drink followed with another waitress. A third person delivered two further lunches and then a fourth person delivered the final drink. What a palaver! Four servers to deliver three lunches and two drinks, taking over four or five minutes. One person chose teriyaki chicken with two side salads and said it was really good. One person had tuna nicoise salad and the other had chicken nicoise. Sadly both of these salads were poor, boring and tasteless. New potatoes were rock hard, indeed raw in the centre. Green beans had been defrosted but not cooked at all and were limp and chewy. the bowls each of these salads were served in made them really difficult to eat from. The chicken was absolutely tasteless. Really disappointing, especially as the restaurant area was very quiet, hardly any customers at all. I wonder what is going wrong here as previously it has been much better.

I was looking forward to my first visit to the restaurant for breakfast with my family. Things started well, as a young man showed us to a table and explained we can order on an app, as advertised on the table sticker, or await table service. As my baby son was near his lunchtime, I decided to use the app for the order, and made payment. After a further 5 minutes, a young lady approached to take our order. She seemed confused when I explained we had ordered on the app, but after checking, reassured us everything had gone through. We waited. And waited. The place wasn't busy, and I noticed plenty of other tables being serviced with their order. After 25 minutes waiting I asked a waiter to investigate why we hadn't received anything. After a further 10 minutes, the young lady came to explain they had lost our order and breakfast was finished. They could only now take a new order for lunch. We were all ravenous by this time and so got a refund (cash as they card machine wasn't working) and left for home. There was no offer of voucher etc to apologise.I was astounded by the all round experience, of the worst customer service for some years. Avoid at all costs.

Met my 4 year old here late this afternoon after not seeing her for 8 weeks due to the current situation. Before lockdown, I would pick her up from nursery and bring her here once every two weeks to go into the play centre. For obvious reasons it was shut and instead I treated her to a milkshake, cake and sweets at the Kipling Patisserie. Staff were really helpful and even went to get the strawberry milkshake made that she really wanted. It made her very happy, so thank you. I also grabbed myself some bits from the market for my dinner and just had a very tasty Sheppard's pie at home! Looking forward to when the Eat & Play centre opens again

Ok, it's a niche headline (seriously, how good can a garden centre be?!) but Bicester Garden Centre takes it to a new level. Part of the Blue Diamond group, the centre sits up on the growing retail area that's set up around Bicester Village. So what's so special? Well, for a start, how many garden centres have their own gin bar? Bicester Avenue does. How many garden centre cafes have designer cakes that make Patisserie Valerie quake in its boots? Bicester Avenue does. How many garden Centres have their own sweet shop? Bicester Avenue does. And then we reach the restaurant. It's delicious. Not the cheapest, but also not your average garden centre food. I ordered the salmon salad. Tou get a choice of two salads (I chose garden and the watermelon, cucumber & feta) It was so fresh. Mama and Papa Bear ordered quiche salad and a baguette and they were equally well presented and delicious.Well worth a visit, even if it's not your local centre and means a bit of a journey. Top stuff guys.

Cafe staff were not wearing any PPE, not distancing from customers. Multiple staff members serving each table. Lady bringing food on trolley was holding up the dish and speaking over it! As for table service, what is the point if you have separate staff for each Job, so 4 separate staff attending our table and none of them distancing. We waited around 45 mins to order, had to ask to pay after 1 hr+. No regard for customer or staff safety during COVID-19 pandemic. If you want to stay safe, stay away!
