I went to the Beefeater kidlington for drinks lovely evening after work. Went in and ordered a drink the young guy behind the bar was very grumpy and rude and very very unwelcoming . The couple on the next table said the same and they wont ever go back and they should get 'happy staff'. No i know jobs can get boring but when you are in that job u need to smile and not be so off and rude . i emailed them to say about this and i have had no response i will never go there again !!!! AVOID

From arriving to leaving, the service was brilliant. Had breakfast here one day before we visited The Game Fair, cleaned food delicious, staff attentive, very enjoyable.

Took my son for his 21st Birthday with the rest of the family. Thought we would have a nice meal out. The manager was the most ignorant man I have ever spoken to in my life and was extremely rude. There was one guy in the kitchen who if he walked any slower he would be walking backwards. We had a table booked at 7.00 p.m. and were still waiting for mains at 8.30 p.m. There were two other tables in there so they were far from busy! Absolutely appalling. In fact the only decent members of staff was the guy behind the bar and the guy waiting our table. Disgusting. Avoid at all costs.

I've used the Beefeater Restaurant chain for many years, and whilst basic fare, there is a varies choice of menu, and the prices are reasonable, and they often do meal deals, so good value and competitive also. We again visited the Kidlington Beefeater as we were staying at the Premier Inn, next door. It was fairly busy, and the restaurant Manager was helpful and courteous when we arrived. However what really impressed us ( apart from the meal) was our waiter, Conner. A young man, who was extremely attentive to our needs, efficient quick and very polite, with a friendly smile at all times. As I have stated the restaurant was quite busy, but I noticed that he was equally good with the other tables, and was really working hard there. I do believe that this kind of attitude towards customers, should be noticed by Management, and perhaps rewarded. I do hope they manage to retain him, as people like him are hard to get, and though the meal was good, the added attentive service made it more enjoyable. Many Thanks

Mid afternoon meal so minimum staff . Although friendly, the service was really slow and the coffees never arrived. There were only 3 tables taken but we still waited some time for plates to be cleared and next course to be ordered. Drinks sat on bar for 15 minutes before arriving at the table. A shame, because the food was good

Food and service was good, but rather shocked to be told at 9.15pm, its last orders, we are closing at 9.30pm. I would estimate that there was at least 30 people in there drinking. Website states, closes at 11pm, obviously staff wanted to go home early, well who wants to work late on Fridays.

Stayed at the premier inn attached, so gave it a try, the staff we met were lovely, helpful and polite. The restaurant was clean, seemed fairly new, but the food was not brilliant , starter served cold, not nice when it was chips with cheese (referred to as loaded skins for some strange reason). The other starter I always like, super crunchy wings with hot sauce. The fish in the fish and chips came in soggy batter and was greyish in colour, not appealing, had a burger, just a burger and it was nothing to write home about. Was told by the staff that the restaurant would close soon to make more room for bedrooms, perhaps that’s why restaurants associated with premier inns seem to be dropping their standards🤔🤔

Obviously mass cooked food is not 5 star, but it was hot and good quality for the price. 1 adult breakfast 2 kids eat free. My kids love it!

Came here for lunch today with my partner and son. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food wassuprisengly really good and so was the service! It was also good to see that the chef had great hygiene. Would definitely come back again.

Rudeness from the staff straight from the off. The concierge told me I was a bit too early for my table. Nine minutes too early. I commented that it was only nine minutes. He asked if there was a problem and if there was I could go elsewhere as he’s really busy. I almost laughed at his rude approach. He asked if I had had a bad day. Absolutely off the scale. I hope my food isn’t tampered with.

I witnessed a male staff member leave the toilet (a sit down job) and walk straight to the kitchen without washing their hands. The staff member immediately picked up the cutlery container to put it out for breakfast. Should I eat my pre-paid breakfast tomorrow morning?

Extremely slow and poor service, waited 45 mins between main and having to ask for desert menu. In the end we decided to leave after having waiting an hour between corses with 2 small children. With only us, and 2 other tables in the restaurant to serve I felt this was unacceptable.

We found this Beefeater restaurant a few weeks ago. That time we had a very pleasant Sunday lunch there but it was crowded and noisy on that day. Finding ourselves once again in Kidlington today, and not having had lunch, we decided to try the same venue again, hoping it would be less busy and quieter. We hadn't booked and walked in to an almost deserted restaurant. We were immediately shown a table for two, given menus, and the waiter returned a few minutes later for our drinks order. We ordered starters of soup and breaded mushrooms. Both dishes were excellent and arrived quickly. My Wife had a main course of steak & ale pie with chunky chips. I had the rack of ribs with chips and a honey & mustard sauce. I'd had the ribs before in a Beefeater. This time I found them a little too chargrilled but they were still edible. The portions were very large. It is the first time, when dining out, that neither of us had room for a dessert. As we ate the restaurant filled up and, by the time we paid the bill, it was about one third full. There were two groups having birthday meals and one, with several children, was a bit noisy. Not the restaurant's fault. Overall the food was OK and the service attentive. Much better than at another Beefeater we've recently visited. We will be returning to the Kidlington branch in the future.

It was absolutely amazing. Even tho there was only 1 chef and numerous rude customers, the staff were incredible, always smiling and helpful, and running the floor and bar like true professionals. Called in for lunch on Saturday, was looked after by Shannon, very good, she dealt with our whole order, taking slight changes to main course orders and communicating with the chef, drinks and coffee 😁. The 3 main courses we chose we're all very good, we had gammon steak, ribeye and the crisps chicken 🐔 burger 🍔 3 very happy adults.

Good food and excellent service

This is a really nice restaurant. The staff were really friendly and the food came reasonably quick. The only reason I am giving four stars rather than 5 is that there was some chewing gum stuck under the table which is not very pleasant on a table that you are going to eat a meal at. Apart from that it was very clean and tidy, the food was warm and delicious. Would definitely come here again.

Staff extremely rude and surly. Don't be surprised if you're ignored when you wait to be shown to a table. They give the distinct impression they would rather not have any customers. Good luck with that business plan.

Went out for Christmas day lunch, just for a change. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing and well cooked. Our servers, were Sam and Lauren, who where absolutely fantastic and even though they where busy with others they assisted our table with true professionalism and I hope beefeater gave there staff a good bonus

Family of 4. Christmas lunch. Very enjoyable. Food hot and plentiful - nicely cooked. Drinks reasonably priced. Very well looked after by 2 waitresses.. not rushed. Definitely return next year.

Fantastic visit! We had a lovely meal here. The staff were all so hard working and very attentive. The restaurant was packed but the staff were running about to ensure that food waits and the taking of orders wasn’t too long. The food was boiling hot and delicious. The portions were massive too, which is quite unusual, judging by the beefeaters I’ve been to! The restaurant itself is very well laid out and didn’t feel all squashed in either. Would definitely return!

Myself and 3 family members booked for Christmas lunch. Upon arrival we were met with enthusiastic and friendly staff, the food was wonderful and the service stayed consistently brilliant throughout the duration of time we spent. The manager was very engaged with all of the tables and made sure we were satisfied with our service. I will be returning and informing friends and other family members of the wonderful experience.

We have twice booked this restaurant for lunch and twice have been told they couldn’t provide lunch as they had no staff. We won’t be attempting to eat there again. Meanwhile The Jolly Boatman up the road was warm, friendly and the food was excellent and good value

Went for Sunday lunch 2 adults and 2 children Booked on line and wanted Sunday lunch Was told no Sunday lunch was available Ordered off the main menu My wife ordered salmon off the Christmas menu A very strange mix ,salmon and a puff pastry case plonked on the side and with stone cold veg and Luke warm chips . I ordered a full rack of ribs , ribs very cold and so were a the chips , sent it back ! Children's meals were rubbish dry burger a few cold chips and some raw veg sticks . Do yourself a favour and stay well away.

Went to choose festive menu to be told that at 6pm on the second Saturday in December that they had run out of turkey. Bar was pretty much dry. And staff really didn't seem to care less. Would have been zero if that was possible on here

We ate here whilst staying next door at the Premier Inn. We were served by the charming and efficient Maddie, who looked after us brilliantly. The food was spot on, with us opting for steaks for our mains. They were cooked by Chef Jake. Honestly...

Had to wait over 30 minutes for a table even though there were plenty empty tables available. We weren’t given a menu for over 20 minutes while staff just stood around talking. When food eventually arrived it was Luke warm. Other people had to wait...

Very slow service Food wasn't hot as had been waiting I think sometime on the hot plate Tried to go there again another night as staying in the hotel next door to be told something about not enough staff so weren't allowing anymore customers in. Nightmare when have a toddler so had elsewhere. From reading reviews under new management but doesn't appear to have fixed the negative reviews. Such a shame as it was decorated nicely inside & all beefeaters are normally great

We cannot speak highly enough of Charlie. She was amazing all throughout and made it such a lovely experience, she even went out of her way to make our dessert (her debut!) which was also amazing. She is an asset to the restaurant. What a lovely girl! Thank you Charlie! :)

Grat food, friendly staff, good price too

Very slow service, noisy, orders sometimes forgotten or wrong. This place is always short staffed.

We went for lunch. They do a lunch time menu that is good value for money. As it was half term it did get busy .Charlie our waitress was very good and serve us well. We had a comfortable booth and was a pleasant experience.

AreaManager / head office REALLY need to look at these reviews and sort this place out. Very average, hit and miss, always things missing on plate. Temperature of food not always ok....some items not even warm (icy/ freezing) most of the staff dont seem bothered. Real shame as will lose a lot of business with this attitude. Have had times when meal is quite nice but standards dropping and is risky to come here as to whether will get a decent meal/atomosphere/staff.

Lunch with friends at Beefeater. We had the lunchtime menu which is good value. I had the gammon and apple Betty which was very tasty. Our waitress Charlie was very efficient and friendly.

After a ruined birthday meal at the site in Buckingham - we decided to give Beefeater another chance yesterday (Tues 16th Oct 23), and booked a table online for 18:15. I had also put some notes in relation to a table request. My wife and I arrived at exactly 18:15 and waited for what seemed an eternity. The restaurant seemed steady for a Tuesday night, couple of large tables, but not heavily busy in my eyes. The lady in front of us was approached and said she wished to book for Xmas Day. The colleague (who was wearing a blue and white pattern shirt - not the same uniform as the others) - went off to get someone else. He returned with a gent in a black chefs jacket and he took over. The colleague in the shirt then asked how he could help. I advised we had a booking and our name. He just said how many people (not referring to the booking). He went to sit us down and mumbled something as he walked off, just dumping the menus on the table. No finesse or "wow" After about 10 minutes a waiter came over and asked what we wanted. We ordered drinks and when these were delivered we ordered our food. We were sat close to the "pass" in the kitchen. Whilst we waited we saw food sitting for too long before any waiters picked up. The guy who had seated us walked past the areas several times, yet rather than take food out just ignored it. He was seen going in and out of the kitchen, talking to the chefs and eventually making a dessert and singing happy birthday to a guest (while all the food was still sat waiting to be collected) As we continued to wait for our starters, my wife noticed the chef (the same one who helped the lady with the Xmas booking), picking up salad with his bare hands and placing it on plates. Furthermore, another chef had netting on his long tied up hair and beard, but lots of his hair was still exposed. I turned round and saw the same chef that my wife had mentioned, handling not only the salad, but also other food items and not washing his hands or wearing gloves. Our starter arrived (it had been sat on the hot plate for around 10-12 minutes), the potato skins were warm at best, the goujons were the same - in total from ordering it was almost 35 minutes to get our two starters. Not acceptable at all given it was ready and was just sat on the pass. I happened to turn around and while we waited for our mains, watched the chef in the black jacket. I saw him picking up salad, just like my wife did, with his bare hands. My wife said if her food came over with salad on the side, she was going to send it back and ask for fresh that had not been handled by the chefs bare hands. What happened next though, totally shocked us both. The same chef handled some more salad, and then placed something else on the plate in addition to the green stuff, again with bare hands. He then poured what looked like beans/sauce on the plate, and then LICKED HIS FINGERS - TWICE. He then continued to handle other food. I immediately went to our waiter, as we now both felt sick. I told the waiter to cancel our main courses and explained what had happened. He said sorry and wandered off. I went back to our table and got my coat, my wife and I went towards the exit. I asked the waiter if I could speak to the manager. He asked me which chef had licked his fingers. I pointed and to my disgust was told he was the MANAGER!!!!! The gent in the shirt though (white and blue pattern) was another manager. I told him what had happened and he just mumbled something, no real apology or concern - said "we will have a word" and said we could leave! Needless to say, another poor visit when in fact this should have been the visit to restore our faith in Beefeater. If anything it has done quite the opposite. Emailed head office and advised that contact will take longer than usual due to lots of other communications from other customers - says it all really AVOID !!!

7 adults and 2 kids out for dinner / birthday ended up on 2 tables . The orders were taken , then 25 mins later one of the orders is declared. Unable . No 1/2 rack of ribs available so a new order was sorted . About 20 mins on anther order went the same way . The orders eventually started to get delivered . The fries on a burger meal were cold where they had been standing for most of the time . The mixed grill turned up minus eggs and onion rings . In the meanwhile they tried to deliver a full rack of ribs . One order , a ribeye steak was never delivered . All the time the staff were full of apologies but were doing nothing to help . We ordered drinks during this fiasco but they only came after two of our party had got up and left . This was the absolute worst advert for Beefeater and believe you me I think none of us will ever frequent one of their establishments ever again . I gave all 1 star only because there was no minus option .

After seeing mixed reviews we booked not expecting alot .We were mistaken .The staff were great took my GF very seriously giving a seperate menu .Food was delicious ,gammon and burger cooked to perfection.Atmosphere was lovely ,busy yet we could still have a great conversation...

The customer service is second to none I used to train customer service skills And I can say the attention to detail is what' makes the difference and both the manager And Robyn our server couldn't be more professional Plus the food is extremely good...

Only 4 start point was bacon. If it was slightly crispy or slightly smoked it would have been 5*. It was unfortunately floppy and lacking any taste. Everything else was superb.

Staying in the Premier Inn adjacent, we thought we would try the Beefeater as options are limited nearby. I wish we had not bothered. Very busy and had to wait a little, but that was OK. The starts we had were very nice and hot....

The worst beef eater I have been in, stops servicing food at 20.45 some times no one in the kitchen to cook anything come on guys get your act together.

Sunday lunch portions are amazing and the meat was excellent. Service was poor as they seemed understaffed . The only let down was the vegetables. Rock hard parsnips that I couldn't even cut . And the roast potatoes were hard . That was the only let down

Dreadful food, chaotic slow service. Beef pie devoid of beef, served with mashed potato that comprised a single lump. Food was visible on the service hatch for typically 15 minutes or more before the waiting staff picked it up. To be avoided.

I have never been so dissatisfied with a meal. The server didn’t bring all the food out together so some got sent back so we could eat together and didn’t even bother giving steak knife

I rarely give a bad review but the food was awful. Under cooked and overpriced, if it was available. No tartar sauce, the cheesecake was very nice but came with a different topping. The poor servers were very polite but spent the whole evening apologising to customers. They even burned the last waffle!!

The most unbelievably awful service. If we didn’t have pre paid meals I wouldn’t eat here in a million years. First time in here took 4 hours and many things were wrong with the orders but we didn’t bother asking because we’d given up
