Awful stay Staff were not available unless you searched for them shouting which happened one evening when a new guest arrived and walked around shouting “hello!” down the corridors at 9pm No one available for breakfast so had to find a staff member who provided out of date milk and cold toast. Rooms cold and mouldy Ceiling leaking Dirty linen

I visited this inn years ago and it was a great village inn/pub. This visit for two nights was very disappointing. I really don’t think the term Hotel applies. There was only a continental breakfast offered. No other food or any bar so it is in fact a B & B establishment. I had previously requested a ground floor room as I have mobility issues. This had not been noted and after a bit of pondering a ground floor room was found. It was rather tired and neglected but for two nights I could manage. Coming back in the evening after a very demanding day I would have liked food available which in a hotel would normally be on offer and a quiet night watching TV. No food and a broken TV. The sad thing is that the staff were very kind and helpful, helping me with my luggage across the busy road to the car park. There is virtually no parking adjacent to the premises.

The door had broken glass and boarded up and the bedroom had a broken glass window which was sellotaped up. It was cheap for a reason. Lesson learned on our part

Where to start,! Good bits were the room & bathroom were a good size with a comfortable bed and plenty of hot water and storage. The cons were many, no hot breakfast, towel rail missing, no plug for the bath - in bits on the windowsill, room was not serviced the whole week, awful traffic noise., but we survived. The place is in need of some basic DIY.

I decided to book a romantic overnight stay for my new partner, we are both retired. Along with our 2 dogs, a small Jack Russell and a Golden Retriever (assistance dog). On arrival we got an additional fee for the dogs!!!! NOT EXPECTING as I had told them on booking. The room 9, big as requested, bathroom needs updating, cobwebs above the bed area. NO HEATING till 6pm - it was bloody freezing - electric heater given - hopeless in a big room.Tea & Coffee or kettle??? No where, asked about restaurant - closedown for refurbishment??? Bar facilities - NOPE none of this exists!!! We opted for an early dinner in Bicester - 2nd place as the first destination didn’t take dogs. We stayed up till 10pm the heating was still cold, no adjustments on the room stat, set to a max of 15c this and 4 radiators just luke warm & the electric heater. Off to bed. What with all the late arrivals till past 2.30am & the road noise we didn’t get much sleep. In the morning the room was bloody freezing cold!!!! A case of try the hot water!!!!!!! Nope there wasn’t any. Breakfast, Well complimentary breakfast?? Tinned fruits, cereal and milk, tea & coffee. We gave that one a miss. Opted for a full English breakfast in Brackley. Then on drawing the curtains!!!! Hey presto the tea & coffee facility!!!!! Hidden. Would we stay again???? Thanks but No thanks

Stayed one night with my missus and 2 kids (yeah, they are our kids). The room was ok although on closer inspection the decor is getting a bit tired. Speaking of tired, the bed was clean and very comfortable. Got a real nice night's sleep. Even though the hotel is situated between two roads it is a nice and quiet location with good parking. The breakfast was simple. Toast and cereals with a selection of hot and cold drinks. Simple but adequate. The whole building itself has seen better days and could do with a refurb. But, hey, it's served it's purpose quite well and we'd probably use it again. As the saying goes, cheap and cheerful.

This was a really good place to stay, a very spacious room. It is several miles outside of Bicester on the B430 where it crosses the B4030. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The rooms come with freebies, and as many supplies as you will need for hot drinks. Very good value for the area of the UK this is located. There is a pub downstairs. During rush-hours the noise of traffic in the room is a little on the heavy side, but during the evenings and night no problems at all - very quiet. This is good for both leisure and business travel.

We had issues with mobile internet and wifi connectivity in the room, the separate hot and cold water taps in the sink, although classic and charming to look at isn't really helpful, a mixer tap should be the norm. Bathroom indeed looked tired. Other than that, decor is cool, road noise is barely noticeable in the room. I am happy to sleep here again.

Cosy place as a converted barn or farm but room is fairly dark and depressing for winter. Lights are none existent and a small window doesn't help with dark decor. Barely get mobile signal here and WiFi was not working during our overnight stay. Bathroom is basic and old. Electric shower is hot and powerful but sounds like a plane taking off. Not soundproof at all from upstairs. We got woken up to someone going to the loo in middle of the night and coming down the stairs in the morning. 1 night was OK, connectivity is a big issue here. For Bicester village it's close by but I'd rather be at Premier Inn next time. We didn't buy breakfast at £13.95 so can't comment. We didn't anticipate arriving so late from travels, but guy was available for keys so we appreciated that at 11:30pm. No paperwork to fill in on arrival or departure which is also good. Car park across the road also good.

We ate at this restaurant for dinner as well as a couple of breakfasts and were not disappointed. There was a big group of us for dinner and they set up their breakfast area for us with one communal table. The choice of starters, entree’s and deserts were large and they were well prepared and cooked as well as presented. With 14 of us we ordered across the spectrum and what was great was that people were offering each other a taste of theirs as well as the restaurant’s way of accommodating a lot of different dietary needs (gluten, lactose, carb, vegetarian) without making the recipients feel different or awkward. This carried onto having gluten free breads for breakfast. This little coaching inn looks like it might just be a small stop on the way to Oxford, it is more than that. Go, try it, enjoy....

Nice room and as others have said redecorating is very much needed in lots of areas especially the bar and eating area as it let's this lovely hotel /pub down . I know redecorating is on going and the bathrooms are on the list of to do could I suggest the toilet roll holder is put beside the loo rather than behind ,not good when you have back problems. Ment to say before we left light bulb needs replacing in the dressing room also when redecorating a bit more attention to the finish as very shoddy in the room we were in , but maybe this room is waiting to be done . These comments are to help for the future, and also a word in younger members of staff about language didn't bother me but might offend some. Having said all this we did have a lovely stay thank you.

Extremely noisy, it’s directly on a very busy main road, the road and cars are passing about 8 feet from your window. Single glazing on the windows which don’t shut tightly, means the noise levels are as though you’re sleeping on the road. After a long drive I looked forward to a good nights sleep, but I did not sleep at all. No heating in the room at night, very thin duvet, single glazed windows, and 0 C outside, so I froze all night too. Did not sleep at all last night. I am working a 15 hour day today, so I’m unhappy about that. <br/> External door to where the rooms are doesn’t lock (the lock is broken), and the lock on the room door is also broken, so it doesn’t feel particular secure either. Grungey carpet and walls in the corridors and stairs in the units with rooms. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7am...went down at 7:10 and all the doors to the hotel were locked and all the lights off. Waited outside for another 5 minutes before someone came to open the door to all the guests that were waiting to go in for breakfast, the chap that opened the door looked like he’d just gotten out of bed, and didn’t even greet people as he opened the door 15 minutes late. Breakfast is a typical greasy slap up job, once I saw that I decided against it. I booked for two nights but I want to leave immediately and will not be returning.

If you stay within 25 mile radius of Bicester this is the place to stay. The building itself is an 800 year old stone building but this does not stop you having all the mod cons of WiFi but it is coupled with the quaint old English architecture of a breath taking building 5 stars if there was 6 this place would get it. Greeting upon arrival was non-existent. We may as well have been invisible and there were not many people in there at all. Eventually, after some effort, we got some attention and were shown to our table. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The chairs were awful, old, worn, filling to seats coming out etc (see photo), the table needed cleaning (I did it myself) and food etc on the floor (and not just under this table) and menus dirty. Everything about it was simply YUK !!!! The actual table service once sat down was fine (to be fair the 'restaurant' was fairly empty so it should have been good) and, surprisingly, the food itself was fine for what it was (it’s a Sizzling pub so you know roughly what to expect and it won’t be fine dining, Gastro pub or anything remotely like that). Salt pots were ALL badly clogged up – we tried several from different tables and they were all the same so we took the top off and hand poured. We cleaned our own cutlery !!! Cheap & cheerful – unfortunately without the cheerful. Would I go here again ? No. Not based on this experience. It’s a Sizzling pub so no high expectations anyway but it should at least have been clean and welcoming. Which it absolutely was not.

Friday evening pizza night. The service was excellent, friendly and very efficient. Pizza and garlic bread fabulous and the beer, really well kept (as always). Definitely worth a visit to this busy local. A proper pub.

Lovely greeting by Robyn who seated and served us through the night, very helpful and pleasant! Food was great, we had a sharing platter and the pork & apple bon bon was my favourite but the chilli chicken and chorizo were equally as delicious. The skewers looked amazing, I had the seabass and the portion was really good with wonderful crispy potatoes, soft fish, prawns, tenderstem brocolli, peas and broad beans in a light delicate sauce. Dessert was a banoffee bun and this was epic, choux pastry filled with banana creme patisserie, served with crispy caramel topped banana, caramel sauce and refreshing ice cream. Excellent food and service, wonderful night and experience!
