The Easington in Cherwell

Friday 18/10/24. Came in for a drink with a colleague and Andrew the duty manager had amazing service. Top lad.

Having a dietary problem I know I can be catered for at The Easington, but it also caters for the "burger brigade" too! Only negative. The toilets could do with a good clean/upgrade!

Pretty poor roast meal , choice of two meats , gammon very very fatty , chicken , very small drum stick no breast tasted weird. Veg undercooked, roast potatoes ok, stuffing with bacon wrapped , both undercooked and tasted cheap! Staff not at all welcoming , “have you booked “ as soon as we walked in . Then left us standing at the bar wondering what next ? Disappointed with what I spent and received , £40 for two people isn’t bad but the quality was very very poor. Cheap produced meals . Won’t return .

Staff were lovely & very accommodating dogs in the first area only, but that's fine we hadn't booked as my friend & I only decided 30 mins before it was early & the meals were quick & delicious plus the Bottle of Wine went down nicely aswell. The Menu had good choice plus it's nice to have a good Pub only 10mins walk away 👍 We had 3 courses & a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc so we found it all very good value.

Hi all, unfortunately I haven't spent much time in the pub itself but what I have seen regarding service, atmosphere and food I can easily say... if you are in Banbury, please don't miss this one. I did, don't be me.

Food and service were great especially using the chain app. Very quiet, no background music at the time of visit. A couple of item not available.

Big rear garden, plenty of seating. Good range of beers at reasonable prices. Not tried the food yet. The pub is not a place you would take someone for a romantic date. Plenty of parking.

Was in there today the food was horrible. I ordered a pint and when it was finished noticed dirt stuck to the bottom of the glass told them bout it and answer was they couldn't do notting about it. I'll never use this pub again to dirty

We visited The Easington as Banbury is about half way between where I live, and where my family live. It can be hard to find a place to accommodate two vegans and two large dogs but The Easington ticked all of our boxes and we were seated in a lovely chalet in the garden area. The food arrived quickly, and it was very well priced. There was something for everyone in our party and we were given water for our dogs. We used a mixture of bar and app to table service and experienced no issues with either. Staff were very attentive and made sure that we were well taken care of. I would definitely recommend The Easington to others and we will look to return at our next family gathering. We experienced no issues with our visit and the pace of the experience was perfect. Highlights for us were the seating area outside, the staff, and the cheesecake. As two vegans we have tried a lot of vegan cheesecakes and this was one of the best we had. Please pass on this feedback to your staff, they have provided us with an outstanding service and would like for their efforts to be recognised by Ember Inns.

Popped into the Easington for a cheeky Saturday tea & received excellent service from Nathan & the team. Food was tasty & served quickly, good value for money.

We enjoyed a superb vegetarian English breakfast at The Easington. The meal was beautifully prepared, with a delightful variety of fresh, flavorful ingredients. The portion sizes were generous and every item was cooked to perfection. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for a delicious and satisfying vegetarian breakfast experience!

Visited as a group several times, when visiting the local area. Always a place we will return to due to the excellent food, service. Comfortabale, welcoming atmospere. Highly recommended and will return again.

Having ordered the surf and turf thought it would be an enjoyable choice. Dreadful will not be returning.

First time visiting and very disappointed... Waited ages for food, the kids eat for £1 is a con... We were told we're better off just paying... Kids starters came out, adults hadn't ordered starters but we had to sit for ages... Just bring kids starters out with mains all in one go.... We ended up in the pub for 2.5 hours... Dreadful

Can't really comment on the food as didn't feel the welcome enough to stay. Use Ember inns (mainly the Foley arms in Stourbridge) as they are dog friendly and are willing to sit anywhere in line with pub guidelines on this. Had a lovely welcome from the bar where we asked where we could go with the dog, but sadly that where it ended. The girl got our dog a water bowl and this was much apricated. Whilst choosing our food another staff member come over and said dogs aren't allowed there but in a disapproving tone. We were willing to move but the only table that is dog friendly is right by the door. It would appear Ember inns have changed their policy on dogs. Have since been back to the ember inns in Stourbridge and had no problems.

Lovely atmosphere always, great service and lovely helpful staff. Izzy and Nathan served me today and most times I'm here. Both so happy and chatty, the staff make the atmosphere incredible!!

Standard of food not good has gone down hill ordered burger came with one very small piece of lettuce no onions no sauce really disappointing will be going else where in future shame as it use to be pretty good

I visit here for lunch when I am visiting Banbury to see my mum, who is in a nursing home. Never had any issues, staff are always pleasant and the food is good.

Great pub , with the usual pub fayre! Food was hot & tasty , they are really hot on their food allergen awareness. Nice atmosphere! Would recommend!

Haven’t been for a while as previously it was just ok pub grub but I booked dinner with the family last minute on Sunday and so glad we did. Staff were lovely and attentive but not too much. The whole family absolutely loved the food and it was served and presented perfectly. Takes alot to impress my people but this certainly did. Thank you and you most definitely will see us again soon.

The food was lovely, especially the beef ribs. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Having just moved to the area, we were pleased to discover that this is our local pub. We will definitely be frequent visitors.

Booked for a family of 4 and the bar man asked us to sit at table 2 in the corner. A very rude female worker came up and shouted we should not be sat there and to move. Several people looked at us and I felt so embarrassed. A couple of men commented as a joke ‘you can’t be sitting there you know’. When we moved there was no apology just her still telling us how wrong we was to be sitting there. I asked her to stop as it’s embarrassing me and she said she doesn’t care as she has been called in on her day off! We got up and left, we went somewhere much more friendly (which wasn’t hard to find)!

Unexpected gem. Great food, lovely servers, down to earth pub. Good value for money. A good range of food on the menu. Served quickly not too quickly so freshly cooked. Recommend the rainbow lasagne

Food was good and served in good time. Surroundings were typical of a modern pub. Only one criticism: there was a selection of different teas but no decaff tea!

The staff were extremely friendly and despite being very busy the food arrived in good time. There are a couple of fairly loud fruit machines near to the dining area which are not conducive to a dining atmosphere. The girl who served us was exceptional and does deserve praise

Its been my local from way back in the 70s. When I was underage lol. Seen many changes. It's always clean and reasonable prices. Though like many other establishments I don't like paying before a meal.

We booked for 11 people on a busy bank holiday Monday. Pre ordered and all the food was right, and was lovely. We had lots of children with us and staff were great with our (slighlty) noisy kids. Everything was perfect start to finish. Would highly recommend thank you

Disappointing and underwhelming. Bar staff and waiting staff were the only positive aspects of the venue. The manager was miserable and unwelcoming. Food was barely edible. Toilets were disgusting. Avoid!!

A lovely, cheap pub with a great classic pub grub menu. Our family often use the easington for birthdays and celebrations as the service is always fabulous. Special shoutout to Nathan who remembers our dietary requirements and drinks orders from our previous visits!

Popped in for a spot of lunch. I had the open steak sandwich. The steak was cooked as requested and the peppercorn sauce was excellent. Good service. I like the order at table App.

This is our local pub. We come some Friday evenings and have to say that Bryonie who often serves us at the bar is so friendly and wonderful. She’s an invaluable member to the team. Thank you Easington.

Fab food based pub. Easy to order. Food always arrives quickly and exceeds expectations: great value, all the pub classics, generous portion sizing, and good quality. Friendly, professional and super swift service. Classic English pub vibes and perfect atmosphere. Comfy seats, plenty of varied indoor seating, excellent outdoor area. Today I arrived just as they were opening- and everything was wonderful. Such attention to detail! Whatever day or time, whoever you’re with, it’s a winner.

I went to the Easington for a birthday meal, and it was extremely nice! Our server was Christina and she was very nice and polite. The food was very nice and arrived quickly, being hot too. I would recommend this place for the atmosphere and food, overall a good price for 5 people including starters and deserts

we came in for sunday lunch today, we were greated by the manager and served by a young girl - both of them were lovely and looked after us very well. the food was really nice and we left feeling very impressed by the whole experience. we will definitely be returning and would recommend.

My wife had Hunters Chicken but it didn’t have the source on the chicken and when I asked about it, we had a very puzzled look. She went off to find out and after about 5 mins she came back with a little pot of BBQ source that was cold. Hunter’s chicken is meant to be cooked with it on.

Excellent service, incredible food and friendly and warming environment. The staff were so polite and helpful when I asked questions or even when I had something wrong with my food there took it back straight away to solve my problem.

Food was extremely disappointing. The Gobi curry left me feeling robbed and hungry. I'm not a big portion eater but the portion size was tiny for a vegetable curry, and it was just a small pot of curry and some boiled rice. No chutney, no poppadom or naan. It was like a 69p ready meal from a supermarket. And we had to send my husband's back as his was even smaller. The cost of ingredients for this meal are literally pennies so there is no excuse for it being such a meagre portion with no accompaniments whatsoever. I ended up putting mayonnaise on it to make the pile of dry rice edible. I was also annoyed when the person taking the order asked me if I wanted to buy extra naan so I asked if it comes with naan and she said yes so I declined buying "extra" naan and the plate came out with no naan and half empty so i had to go back and order the naan and wait for them. So not a positive experience at all and I wouldn't recommend this establishment. The table waitress was lovely though.

We got served by a lad called Aaron, been really down in the dumps about my dog dying so me and my partner came to the pub to cheer ourselves up. Aaron was a lively character and cracked some jokes the service was quick and he was very kind and now we feel a lot better. Goodbye firecracker you’ll be missed

Great friendly staff. They give out of their way to help. As I am in a wheelchair they bring drinks to the table for me. Always book a table, even for drinks, as it gets busy. Food is always good and worth the price.

Only went in for a cheeky pint after a chat with Nathan rom the bar staff I decided to have some food and to say came fast and hot and tasty I recommen this pub bryonie who severd me on the bar was very friendly and good product knowledge and help me to decide my drink All in all great experience will be back 🙌

I use this as my local pub and I have never had a bad experience here. The food is always on point and the bar staff are always happy to help. Amber and Nathan always quick to get your orders processed

Arrived around half 6 for dinner, not very busy honestly it was very quiet,we placed our order very quickly, 2 rump steaks and two plates of kids food, after 25 minutes a waiter came over to tell us that they only had 1 rump steak available, so we swapped it for a sirloin steak, then we waited another 25 minutes before our mains arrived, even after asking how much longer our food was gonna be (2 hungry, bored children). When food eventually arrived, both steaks, were very over charred , to the point of being burned, steaks was ment to be medium rare but was borderline rare, some points of the steak was raw.(tip to the cook from a chef, you're char grill is too hot) peppercorn sauce was spilt, and the rest of the food on the plate was cold, but honestly we was both too hungry to complain at the time. Just wanted to leave at that point. Just overall poor quality, honestly felt sorry for the foh staff, making the best of a bad situation, considering how quiet it was. Won't be returning.

that was mums 61st birthday party 2nd March 24. the servers where Izzy,Maddie,Nathan and Aaron they where great. I made a mistake with the online order on the booking but they was brilliant at sorting that. Food was great as always. They even brought the cake out for us. very attentive and had patience with us while the order got changed so many times. Never even complain when they brought food out that was pre ordered then changed. A very great bunch of people.

Most friendly eating place, great food and well kept beer with many guest beers. Prices excellent and although a busy night got served quickly with a friendly response. Can really recommend this place.
