I have to praise all the staff in the cafe, the service was excellent as was the food, the portions were very good, I would have no hesitation in recommending them. I will certainly go back again, Thank you to all the staff

My husband and I popped in for coffee and cake. We were served by the lovely Elysia, who went above & beyond to make our time there special. The cakes were delicious. We'll be going back. Great customer service. Thank you.

Lovely atmosphere, great cheese scone and marvellous coffee. Staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Varied seating and lovely place to be in the middle of the bookshop.

If you want to vomit and feel ill all day go here! No hygiene at all, they serve rotten, gone off sour drinks at top prices. I purchased an matcha drink that once I got on the train I noticed was completely off and mouldy with bits of spoiled milk churning around with mould. Unfortunately I drank some before noticing, vomit inducing taste, felt so ill all day! Vile place. They do not respond to complaints either.

Good space, and decent staff but poor/expensive food. Breakfast was OK for our large group of golfers, however a lunch tuna sandwich was so thin of filling I had to complain - for £7.50 was a rip off. everything else about the bar was pretty good, although did close quite early. Suspect other food pricing not great either

As a member this golf club thay cannot do enough to make my visits a joy. They are friendly and welcoming to me and my guests. The breakfast was excellent value and perfect. Ignore any poor reviews and make this a place to visit.

Not worth the money, I wanted to treat myself as I was working a very long day, ordered my favourite Chai tea latte, and an almond croissant. There were some people in front of me, and 4 people behind the counter, it was about 1/2 before closing time Sunday afternoon. I went an waited for my tea and had the croissant, two people were obviously cleaning and tidying up, only actually preparing the orders, which one was apparently a very big order of cold drinks. I thought I would enjoy the croissant while I waited, it turned out to be utterly dry and not nice and no almond filling inside. I had two mouthful and put it in the bin, I waited for my tea and waited for my, there were still only one person making the orders, so I left with a very bad taste of not being serviced, as there was still 4 people behind the counter, but not 4 people service the customers. Priorities looked very off.

We received a leaflet through our office door andthought it would be a good idea to try it out one lunch time, and we made a good choice. They offered free delivery, and although had to wait a while for delivery (We'll put it down to the lunch rush) , the food was very good and my collegues agree that we will definately be order from here again. Very polite and very apologetic about the delay. And for a take away delivery, the food was very well presented too.

We visited on a Saturday and were greeted by a lovely lady who couldn't have been nicer. The fryers weren't working, but we could order baguettes. We had a lovely big pot of tea for two and she was very obliging in making a bacon baguette for my son. Having returned on our last day of holiday 2 days later for lunch, we couldn't have had a more different experience. We were greeted in a rude and offhand manner, told they 'didnt do' bacon baguettes, although she managed (!) and having taken a food order to had to ask if we could order drinks...she literally huffed at us for asking!! This lady is definitely in the wrong job and is going to cost the owners a lot of business. As a result I wouldn't recommend. Even more worryingly, when asked to complete track and trace, my details from the first visit 2 days earlier was still there and the date had been crossed out and changed!! I will be livid if I am contacted as a result of visiting here as they are not recording the data correctly.

I decided to have a quick lunch in Coffee#1 in Banbury today while I was in town running errands. I often visit here with my Border Collie Puppy as it's great for socialisation training but today I was on my own. On arrival I noticed that there was only one person behind the counter, I was the only person in the queue until I started to place my order and then three other customers arrived. I ordered a panini and a decaf oat milk cappuccino. My drink was served once the other people in the queue had placed their order (which made sense) and then the server proceeded to make our drinks. I was given a number for my table and I found a seat and sat down. Some fifteen (15) minutes later I still hadn't received my panini and I saw my server venturing outside of the cafe. I went back and spoke to the 'new' person behind the counter, informing him that I was still waiting for my panini. He investigated and noted that my order was still on the clip at the back of the counter. He told me he would get it to me shortly! The server's name was Luke (the new server) and I have to say he managed keep my faith in Coffee#1. He apologised when he brought my sandwich to the table and said he would have offered me the opportunity to speak to the manager, except that the individual who first served me, and di not action my ticket WAS the manager. He hadn't conducted a handover which would have incorporated any outstanding orders! This is very basic. Luke apologised again and offered me a free coffee to make up for my wait. He was courteous and pleasant and managed the situation splendidly. Thank you Luke, you were a superstar! So plaudits to Luke but a big thumbs down for the manager. I believe it is important to give feedback when things go wrong, but note I have also included the things that went right, for balance. Thank you Susan Portman

Dissapointing that charging conections not working. Don't seat at the back unless you don't need to recharge phone/laptop. Unfortunately couldn't work as planned after paying £££ for bruch

called in for a coffee whilst at the christmas market & saw the long queue at the counter but lots of staff serving so no long wait.A rarity in a Costa for me so well done York

Quality ingredients making a varied menu along with hospitable staff make for a pleasant visit. I would advise anyone visiting to either take up sign-language or lip-reading as the acoustics made the atmosphere very poor! It was so noisy, normal conversation was not possible. The fitment of noise reduction equipment would be most beneficial.
