I’ve been going to this cafe on and off for 10 years. I have to say my experience has gone downhill since Covid. My recent visit has been very disappointing . I ordered a Spinach and Mushroom Quiche with salads. First of all, the Quiche was still frozen in the middle. Secondly, I didn’t even have time to argue because my daughter has been stung by a wasp. Totally understood this is normal in warm weather but the Cafe’s reaction has been shocking. I went to the counter to ask for some ice. It took at least 5 mins for the waiter to get it despite I can see a bag of ice lying on the table with 1 waitress standing next to it chatting to another lady. I asked can someone just give me the ice as my daughter is crying in pain. I was told someone has gone to get first aid and they can’t “just give me the ice”. After another 5 mins, the first aid has finally showed up. After asking what happened, his words are: oh…..I’m afraid there is not much I can do. I said can you grab me some ice please? It is at that point we finally got the ice!!! I washed my daughter’s wound with some soapy water after a quick google on what to do. I’m not a fully qualified first aid by no means. The cafe has an outside sitting area and wasp sting would be very common. Pleas train your staff on what to do or get some wasps trap like Polhill did. Very disappointing and I would have to end my visit after 10 years. Service standard has gone down too. Most of them look like they don’t want to work there and have a terrible attitude.

They charge £10.95 for a Cornish pasty. When we realised once it was put through the till, we asked what I came with for that price…side salad and slaw! It was dry and awful! Really overpriced for a cafe in a garden centre!

The cafe is fine when you finally get there. But, reminiscent of an airport departure lounge, you have to follow a winding path through furniture, barbecues, and sundry other items for sale before you then exit into the outdoors before finally getting to the cafe. On arrival, staff are very friendly and it appears very clean and welcoming.

Rude jobs worth waitress who was spraying tables with mounds of spray like a whole bottle could hardly breathe everyone sneezing from the over load of spray. Was Advised by rude waitress due to Covid regulations they have to use a mammoth amount of spray. They seat you all together in a small area when there is plenty of spaces at the back of the cafe. Waitress decided to tell our children off for standing up then proceeded to talk about us to other staff members. Waited half an hour for our coffees & well over priced. I advised we wouldn’t come back & waitress replied GOOD... Certainly wouldn’t go back absolutely terrible service all round over priced as well.

It’s a great little cafe for cake and a coffee. Does do other food but the choice is limited. I recommend it.

Went for the nature trail and followed up with lunch in the Blueberry cafe with a group of friends and their kids. The main issue here is the ridiculous understaffing and a lack of management. There were mostly teenagers on staff with half wandering around like they'd forgotten where they were and the other half desperately trying to pick up the slack. Over 20 minutes we queued to be served only to then be told there would be a wait on food. I figured if the place was full then fair enough but less than half the seats were filled. The only reason this review has got two stars instead of one is the sterling work of the young lady on the till at 13:00 on Sunday 3rd Nov. She was only a young girl but the only one keeping the chaos in some order. Promote her or pay her a lot of money because without her you will be closed in a week! The food arrived luke warm and in very small portions considering the price. I did not have the time or the energy to queue up to complain. You need . More than one till. . A manager coordinating the team. . Some extreme staff training. . A review of your menus and either your portions or your pricing. . And someone to remind the other half of your staff what customer service is. Not impressed and (as is obvious from this review) I do NOT recommend.

Located towards the rear of the garden centre, it is quite light and airey. A fairly small main menu with daily specials also available. Seating is a little on the basic side, the food, both in quantity and taste, is very good. Staff are also very friendly/helpful.

Never used to visit because they used to serve Costa Coffee which is OK if you like drinking out of a bucket. Had family light lunch. Decent portion, quick service by attentive pleasant staff. Will return.

This is the cafe / restaurant in Coolings garden centre (there are two Coolings garden centres about a mile apart - both have a cafe. This is the one on Knockholt road, not the one on Rushmore Hill). The restaurant is comfortable and bright and there is a small area with a couple of sofas if you fancy lounging. Food is ordered at a counter and it is brought to your table. On this visit we just had a drink but the food looked good. The staff are friendly and quick to clean up the tables when customers leave which is nice. Plenty of parking space too.

The cafe/restaurant in Coolings garden centre is a great place to bring children - it is child friendly, with play area, tables, sofas, high chairs etc. Somewhere where if kids make a bit of noise it is tolerated and blends in... In addition they have children's lunch packs and the food for adults is good too!
