I was looking forward to visiting this place but I was disappointed. I got a bad vibe about it probably because the staff, although not rude, were just not that friendly. I had a good pour over coffee but my wife had Banana bread and it was £6 for a very small portion.

This is one of two locations in Witney, the other being on the Burford road which we frequent. Prices have increased and menu offerings are limited as of late, otherwise still a very good spot

I went to a place called The Edge in Witney and really like their coffee. They told me to visit UE as they supply it to them. I went there for a box of ground coffee and was greeted like young kid on his first day in the army. The girl working there was rude and shouty. No idea why, it's only a coffee shop!

We used to pop into this shop for lunch on a Saturday - but no more. I ask for, and expected, a toasted ham and cheese sandwich - what I received were two luke warm pieces of bread while the filling was made up of unused pizza topping. Slimy ham and mozzarella cheese that was barely melted - and no sign of the bread being buttered. It was disgusting. When we mentioned this to the waitress she couldn't have cared less.

Excellent coffee first of all, real coffee! We have been a Number 1 fans of UE since they opened on the High in Witney a few years ago and I wouldn’t choose to go anywhere else, I especially love going out off the Burford Road to UE to get away & relax in a lovely ambience. The choice and quality of the food whether it be cakes, breakfast, lunch, Pizza take away is beyond excellent - everything is freshly made and it is all irresistible! The staff are always so accommodating & friendly, professional and efficient. I always buy our coffee from UE now, there is nothing that beats it! They also sell some lovely other produce - Cinnamon Buns are a favourite!

The bosses/owners are very unpleasant and rude. I hadn’t heard great things about them anyway during the pandemic regarding their behaviour, but after an unpleasant trip to the shop myself I can happily say I will not be returning. I must clarify that the actual café staff were lovely. I later found out the rude individual was the boss. Much better businesses in Witney to support!!

Ordered two Pepperoni Take away pizzas, were ready for collection bang on time. They tasted amazing, were piping hot and the chilli added a nice kick to them too.

Even during lockdown, the UE crew have managed to keep their fantastic enterprise going . I visited yesterday for coffee and cake. Each customer is warmly greeted and made to feel very welcome. Service is both friendly and efficient and the cappuccino I drank was served at the perfect temperature, unlike some of the bigger and better-known chains. The coffee tastes smooth and delicious, the cake succulent - I had orange and lemon polenta with pistachios - and they serve a glass of water on the side, just as you would expect in Italy, except you're in Witney! I'd also recommend picking up a free loyalty card which gives you money off and points to collect - a really helpful incentive. I visit at least once every month, usually at the weekends. I took the opportunity since I am on half-term. Go, go again and spread the word!

Upstart staff - more interested in their friends that were littering the downstairs area entertaining them. Over microwaved dry sausage roll & coffee £8+ no toilet and definitely no service - plenty of other options nearby

Beautiful, quirky cafe in the heart of Witney. Staff are super friendly and make the perfect cup of coffee every time. Never been disappointed. Best coffee for miles - and the choice of cakes, fresh, unique and delicious. Once you’ve experienced one of their two cafes in Witney you won’t go anywhere else.

Perfect spot for a rich smooth Flat White. Comfy chairs and congenial surroundings, plus friendly staff makes this the best coffee shop in Witney.

This was a good place to stop for a coffee, tea or cake. For me the best part of this visit was the coffee. It had a rich and delicious flavour. There is a charming seating area upstairs and we enjoyed sitting at the window and watching the crowd go by. There was a small range of croissants, cakes and sausage rolls. Each of these were well made, however there is not a large selection of food. In summary, good to stop for a hot drink and quick bite

This small but perfectly formed cafe was our choice yesterday afternoon for a long overdue catch up over coffee and cake. Both were delicious and the cafe feels like a welcome change from a the big brands. Good to see an independent making their mark - we will definitely return.

I have been calling into UE for several years, the coffe is brilliant when certain baristas are working but only average with others, I do like the relaxed atmosphere and the friendly staff, just a couple are not brilliant at making coffee, their other locations are much more reliable

Oh dear .... my absolute favourite coffee roasters wouldn’t allow my small well behaved terrier inTheir other shop at the other end of town welcomes my pup with open arms ... and usually a water bowl!I had my elderly mother with me and didn’t want to martch her down the street but no! He couldn’t come in because they have carpet!? Cant fault their coffee but you lost 5 drinks plus cake to Starbucks ... C’mon UE dogs live in houses with carpets .... insert sad face here

The second branch of UE Coffee Roasters in Witney town centre (the other cafe can be found further down the High Street). The interior is small, but cosy with beautiful decor & a seating area upstairs. Their coffee is wood-roasted in small batches at their nearby roastery & is a firm favourite amongst my family - it always tastes very smooth & rich. They have a small selection of cakes & pastries available on the counter, as well as dairy-free milks (including soy milk & oat milk). You can also buy bags of their coffee beans (whole or ground) to take away, as well as a selection of different Jeeves & Jericho tea.

Service was good and the coffee average. Where Costa Chipping Norton exceeds all expectation is in the grubbiness of the furniture. All of the soft furnishing looks like it has been a recent victim of incontinence. I would have sat on a chair but fear I might have caught the plague off it. Burn it all!

A great Costa Coffee! The staff are hardworking, friendly, and keep the place spotlessly clean. It’s refreshing to see such a positive and hands-on store manager. Even though it’s a busy location, the service is always top-notch. I’m also loving the autumn drinks on the menu right now!

Great fish finger sandwich and lovely bar staff. Discovered I’d lost my wedding ring a couple of hours after leaving the pub, we went back to check if I’d dropped it there…and the member of staff was amazing and put rubber gloves on and went through the bin in the loos and found it!! What a super star - I’m so grateful! We will definitely return - thank you so much!

Went later than normal lunch so wasn't so packed and sat in the undercover corridoor just outside the giftshop entrance. It was quite cold out in the courtyard and indoors seemed a bit chaotic with lots of staff clearing tables and kids running around. The ordering line blocks the view of the cakes so you need to be in the line to see them, but it moves so slowly and you can't get a good look at everything all at once which made me bounce between decisions a lot. The location of the clean trays didn't make sense and I had to leave my spot in the line to pick one up. Others in the queue didn't mind though so I was able to jump back in, but not before another couple hijacked my empty space to get the till operator to fix their order which had something wrong with it, leaving me standing there a little awkwardly holding an empty tray for a while. With my poor eyesight I couldn't make out the small writing on the menu which was way back behind the till and everything turned out to be quite pricey but that was expected. Ordered a carrot and walnut cake, sausage roll, and a latte. My coffee was excellent, though I had to stand there with a loaded tray waiting for it as it was the slowest moving part of the process with only a single barista and machine. The susage roll was still hot and really tasty, and the cake was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful.
