Server forgot my cake. By the time I realised this my husband had finished his coffee so I decided to get my money back rather than extend our time here. Server felt the need to explain again and again how busy she'd been, denying she's forgotten my cake. Had she simply taken it on the chin and apologised profusely all would have been fine; I had been watching her and seen her serve a customer, clear one table (whilst ignoring all the others), go out the back and get some bowls, have a laugh with a customer, have a drink of water, lean on the counter and look around. Clearly I was forgotten. The coffee here is good and when I've had cake here before it was yummy but this member of staff needs some serious instruction on customer service and I have to say I wouldn't want to be working alongside her as she appeared sloppy and lazy. Won't be rushing back.

Having been to Out of Office for years, you can always rely on them for a great coffee and a nice place to meet with friends or work.

A very well presented cafe in the heart of Newport Pagnell. I dropped in for a coffee and cake and was not disappointed. It looked to be a “better” type of establishment from the outside and so it is. My cappuccino was good, not too large and not plenty strong enough without being overpowering. Likewise the spiced fruit cake. The decor was modern and almost industrial style but the flooring would take some getting used to. In fact, it made me feel quite dizzy. At least, I think it was the flooring. See picture.

I was served by El and Jimmy - both absolitely fantastic at their jobs. With everyone who came in they were engaging, polite and their energy was a pleasure to be around. I had a wonderful coffee and a smartie cookie and spent a good two hours in there working. Fantastic coffee house and a pleasure to visit.

The take away coffee was poor quality and lack any flavour. This was coupled with the £2.90 price tag for a cappuccino the size of an espresso cup.Never again.

We're not local and we've visited in the past and had a lovely and welcoming experience with a nice guy who I believe to be the owner. We shared a passionate talk on coffee experiences and tastes. Upon visiting most recently, the manners of the blonde lady serving couldn't have been more different. Very rude and confrontational towards me. A failure to even look up and engage, and then very rude with her response when I placed my order. All in all, a very unpleasant experience there.

My daughter suggested that we visit this coffee venue in Newport Pagnell, and did not know what to expect. This is a lovely and cosy coffee shop. Enjoyed our time here, and now will try their other venues.

This coffee shop has definitely become one of my favourite spots in MK area. The atmosphere here is so relaxed and the coffee, sandwiches and cakes just lovely. So very fresh. Service by the staff is good and nobody keeps bugging you. Lovely position in centre of Newport Pagnell so easy to get to and never a problem with parking. Love it. Keep it up.

We came for a Sunday roast which was absolutely delicious. Very generous serving and usually I avoid turkey as it’ can be so dry but it was super moist. Beef striploin was also great. Buzzy atmosphere too and made a nice change from going to a pub for lunch. They serve great coffee, cakes and host monthly events (like the roast lunch pop up). Great idea to partner with other local business people too.Staff are friendly and there was plenty of space for the buggy.

I've mixed emotions about Out of Office. The Good;• Lovely Team working there• The CoffeeThe Not So Good:• No dogs. I mean what coffee shop doesn't allow dogs in? • Very odd loyalty app. Requires you to 'check in' then you need to ask and confirm to be sure it worked.• High Prices.• Not the freshest pastries or cookies. Bought in and sold at hugely inflated prices. £2.75 for a single biscuit!Verdict:A bit of a strange place. When their only rival is a rubbish Costa there is no inventive to up the game hence my comments. Would this place last in London in this format. Not five minutes!Would I recommend it: Begrudgingly yes as there are no viable alternatives in this small village. Will I return: Yes for now.For more reviews you can follow me on Instagram @DansBites

Today I visited this delightful little coffee house in Olney, when I found out my usual haunt, Gabriella's was closed for the day. Been here many a time just to look around but have never ordered anything until now. Coffees are a little strong, which is bad news if you like milkier coffees, but they do the usual cappuccino and lattes on the menu and they also offer an excellent range of vegetarian/vegan sandwiches. My personal favourite is their Affogato ('drowned' in Italian language) - i.e. a scoop of ice cream with a dash of espresso to pour over on the side. I recommend that. The dark green wood panelling decor and style of seating reminds me of a railway station waiting room. Not that that's a bad thing. Best of all they sell speciality read and equipment for coffee machines. I bought some decent coffee filter papers here that didn't break up when the coffee was poured through them, they were strong. Yep, I'm coming here again.

Called in for a drink and a snack. Real tea, not tea bags! and help on how to prepare it. Nicely presents toasted sandwiches and one can get gluten free too! Clean and tidy, pleasant, helpful staff who bring your order to the table.

This place has very comfy seats, excellent coffee and very friendly staff. The lux interior is super cool and I love to pop in here. Reasonably priced too. A lot of people miss that they have a variety of toasted sandwiches available (which you can also takeaway wrapped in grease proof paper). The menu for this is on a tiny free standing blackboard which I think is often overlooked. Can recommend the lovely vegetarian chickpea option!

We visited here recently for their monthly afternoon tea special and it was lovely! Really amazing cakes by T.Sweetmap. Great to see this local coffeeshop doing cool things like this :). The payment process at the end was a little annoying as their card machine wasn’t very reliable. Otherwise, great experience!

Tap water: great! Everything else: the service in Out of Office is always lovely, and the staff are welcoming. The coffee is great and well-made. The toasties are good (sometimes a little over-toasted so your mouth might hurt after) and the cakes are delicious too.

This place is a warm and welcoming environment with fantastic staff especially Ariani who was outstanding in her job and very knowledgeable and pleasant, lager wise I would say it is one of the cheapest pubs in the area and the lager is nice

Been going for years as have many family members who would be turning in their graves! Awful spanish omelette (a slice of) served up today for £10.95. Surprised it was the last one but perhaps the other slices were sold last week? On the plus side after mentioning this we were only charged £5 for the lettuce and pot of coleslaw! Such a shame as used to be so good. Coffee was good however! Save yourself a trip and instead head into Olney to the pancake parlour, better food, service and value.
