Pausa Coffee Shop in Milton Keynes

I like this coffee shop. Today I was served by Jody and she made my experience extra special. Jody goes that extra mile with her customer commitment, I appreciated her today. Great place to visit and bril food. Not bad prices either

£3.50 for an excellent cream tea, any time of the day. fruit scone, butter, cream and jam with Americano coffee. Good range of cakes and pastries too. Bright modern and spacious seating area.

Been coming here for years but stopped because the service became poor. But since rosie has been running the cafe its been fantastic and a pleasure to come back to. She is polite and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. The new lady jade working there is also very friendly and chatty.

Shocked to see how overpriced and unhygienic this cafe is. It shouldn't really be open to the public until they have had a major clean of the seating area and trained the staff. There's no other options to eat in the area so we popped in as it seemed like a quick option. A small toastie costs nearly £6, which is ridiculous, but we decided to get some as we needed a quick bite. There was only one customer in front but serving them took around 20 mins. There was one person serving but she was too busy talking to her colleague about how she's not trained to serve or prepare food, she has no experience using the coffee machine and how she can't wait to go home. Her colleague was also saying inappropriate things about other staff members, all in front of me and the customer in front. There was no apology for making us wait over 20 mins to get served. The lady serving wasn't wearing gloves and handling food with her hands. The tables and floor were filthy, like they hadn't been cleaned in months. Cutlery was all stained and there were no napkins. Toastie itself was ok but definitely not worth the price and lack of hygiene. There is 0 atmosphere in this cafe and staff need thorough training on basic customer service and hygiene. I am horrified this cafe is allowed to operate. I will never return.

Whats happened to this once great cafe.? Years ago it was unbelievable for a store cafe. They had a great manager and staff. They were so welcoming and helpful. Most importantly for a cafe was spotless.. Unfortunately you get none of this now. Apart from the lovely little girl who usually serves. Who trys her best. As for the lady with the earpiece who cooks and serves the food. Please at least try to crack a smile pet.. She Is so unwelcoming, she makes you feel so uncomfortable. Now about the lack of cleaning. The place is shocking..! Dirty tables full of the remains of the last customers. Then there is the stains on the seats.What that all about ? Absolutely disgusting.. Basically the whole cafe area is a health risk because of the lack of cleaning. We used to love popping in there for something to drink and eat. But never again, there is so many better places to do so..

So so so slow, not even busy and took nearly 20 mins to get served with three in the queue, one of Saturday girls seemed to want to spend more time grandstanding than actually working. Ordered bacon bap, she then decided she would go off and restock the butter. Had finished our coffees and were ready to leave, this after already asking on progress it arrived. Total time including waiting in queue over 40 mins. Tables cluttered with uncollected crockery.

Service wasn’t great . The young Girl who served us at tills didn’t say anything after we had waited alone at the till for 3 minutes to be served. No please no Thankyou. Also the young girl who cooked our food and brought it to our table Wasn’t very happy at all. She seemed rushed and had no time for any manners or even to acknowledge the people she was serving to. The food was undercooked . It’s was very quiet when we arrived and had to clear our own table and clean it as not one clean table to be seen.

Very friendly staff bright and clean and made covid safe, lovely to browse around. Will visit again.

I come here regularly with my friend. We usually have a panini and cold drink. Service is good, restaurant is clean and tidy and usually very peaceful.

On arrival, the biggest problem was finding a clear table. The vast majority of them were piled high with used crockery but we found one with only two dirty cups so settled there after relocating the cups. Food selection was ok but the one girl behind the counter was trying to do 3 things at once and must be complimented over keeping a cheerful and friendly attitude despite the pressures. There was one member of staff 'in the kitchen area' but she seemed happier standing looking out rather than helping. Settled on cold food (sandwiches and a piece of cake) as it was quicker and after payment, sat down to enjoy. Observation is an amazing trait. The staff member in the kitchen came out with a tray - great we thought, tables getting cleared at last! No such luck. She spent about 5 minutes going back and forth between the kitchen and tables picking out Teapots???? Trays were left full of debris, cups, saucers etc. but eventually every teapot that had been in the restaurant area had been moved back but trays still littered the area. What recruitment policy this company follows needs improving as they clearly don't end up with staff who use common sense or managers that can train it into them. About 20 minutes after we had arrived, eventually another member of staff had arrived and the clearup commenced - noticeably without any tables being wiped clean. Think my visits to this particular Pausa will become even more infrequent than they had been following previous visits.

I usually have a toastie when my friend and I have a rest after shopping here. The side salad is always fresh, crisp and chilled. My friend enjoys an Earl grey tea and she says this is one of the few places they offer her fresh lemon slices with her tea. Staff are very friendly too.

I have used this coffee shop a number of times. Never been brilliant but compared to this visit, all the others were 5 star. Joining a small queue, my wife took ages to get to the till, One sandwich handed over for toasting, two pots of tea ordered and a sandwich and cookie completed the order. 5 staff on duty (4 males, 1 female). Not particularly busy, one would have thought 5 staff could easily cope but it took over 15 minutes for the sandwich to be toasted and dressed with a pretty sad looking salad. By which time my wife had finished her food and we had emptied two pots of tea. My toastie was delivered to our table without any cutlery (which was happening to everyone) and we had to go back to the till point to obtain knife and fork as none was readily available. Whilst waiting on the food, we noticed loads of tables being left until groaning under the weight of previous diners crockery and rubbish. When staff did appear to clear them, only the female was sanitizing them, the males simply removed the laden trays and any debris or liquid drops, remained for the next occupier to swipe onto the floor. The food when it did arrive, was OK but frankly should never have taken that length of time and having done so, perhaps an apology would have been in order. At least my request for the teapot to be filled with hot water was done without question. All in all, a very disappointing visit and one which was out of character.

We have frequently had lunch here for the past two years when we visit MK as apart from the centre which is too busy for us we struggle to find nice cafe type restaurants for lunch. Therefore we return to Dunelm which is a disaster as I cannot resist buying something in the shop. :-) We sometimes have our 3 year old grandson with us and the children’s lunch is reasonable and he loves this ‘treat’. Quite a few times we have visited it is very busy, the staff that work there are excellent friendly, helpful and do their best but table are often not cleared and service extremely slow as there seems to be not enough staff. I hope Pausa coffe management read this as they have a little goldmine there which could be so much better and make more profit. Please improve rather than people get frustrated and stop going resulting in a run down cafe as apposed to an excellent one.

Had a bacon roll with coffee for £3.20. Great food in a bright open environment, much better since the refurb. Will definitely make this a regular

Dunelm is my favourite shop and I love going there. The one is Winterhill has recently had an amazing refurbishment including the café, thank goodness! Stopped last week and had a delicious coffee but no cake thanks to the New Year resolution. The café space is now bright and cheerful with good lighting instead of the previous gloomy red creations. The shop is full of beautiful stuff of all descriptions and the staff always go above and beyond to be helpful. Brilliant! I think I should have a few shares as I shop there a lot!

My sis and I called in here when shopping on a Saturday. It is a lovely coffee shop/cafe with excellent staff who have great character and make the dining experience totally enjoyable. A varied offering of sweet and savoury from bacon sandwich to jacket potato with prawns and then afternoon cream teas. The coffee shop is popular even without obvious advertising and I think there should be more people serving/taking orders and one person doing drinks. It's fine when it's quieter but i noticed a queue building up very quickly due to understaffing although they all working very hard I'm sure they could employ a couple of Saturday girls to help out? I've given 5 stars as really is a lovely place with excellent food and drink which is very good value for money but they do need to take on more staff and have one person just for drink orders to speed things up at busy periods to avoid long queues. Definitely recommend a visit and will be coming back again!

Esta pausa que ofrece es justo lo que esperas de Dunelm pero el personal en este son un poco mejor que la mayoría.La chica detrás del mostrador era hablador, pero no demasiado, aquellos de entregar la comida era educado, amable y eficiente.En resumen, una visita muy agradable, que era un poco mejor que muchos de los otros Pausa que he visitado.

Always good for hot drinks ans snacks. Staff helpful and good place to recover when shopping in the store or even nearby stores

Found this lovely small coffee shop in Dunelm. Not very well advertised but most enjoyable. Great staff, quiet atmosphere, good food on display and service smashing. Just made the morning shopping experience even better. Very much recommend a visit to relax with a good brew and some calm time:)

Another coffee shop that insists on it's customers feeling like they are sat in the arctic to enjoy a quick break, I don't know why this is. Even with the heat wave this week I'm sure they don't need freezing cold air blasting out over people.
