Wheatsheaf Hotel in Runnymede

Molly was superb looking after us during a very busy Sunday lunch period. Nothing was too much to ask. The Hotel Manager was marvellous stepping in to cope with huge numbers of people turning up on a sunny day. Food was excellent 11 out of 10!

Had sunday lunch at Wheatsheaf Virginia where Leica looked after us beautifully. Friendly and helpful and quick service. Couldnt ask for more

As someone that specialises in helping businesses to drive performance through their Customer Experience, I feel qualified to say that this hotel/restaurant is fantastic. Superb location, great look and feel (recently refurbed) but as always, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference…hand written welcome note, great corporate comms throughout my customer journey, but the best bit of all, Alison manning the coffee machine in the morning! Never heard of Chef & Brewer prior to this stay but would highly recommend. 👍

Food good, service good and our waitress Leica was amazing. Absolutely loved the refurbishment would highly recommend the WheatSheaf Chrf and Brewer to friends and family, you can bring your dog too which is a great bonus.

Very comfortable bedroom with a great bathroom. I was treated to great hospitality. Anna was a lovely host. They have recently gone through a refurbishment and the decor and ambiance are exceptional.

Service was extremely slow and food was dry and overcooked. I don’t know if it has something to do with the fact they’ve recently reopened but I won’t be returning.

Went for a meal with the girllies and it was a brilliant night shared lots of laughs and my Waitress Alison was extremely helpful and had lovely service

Had such a lovely day out with my boyfriend here. Perfect spot with amazing food, not to mention the kind and lovely staff. And especially Leica who was our waitress she was so polite and welcoming to us, we couldn’t of asked for a better day out!

i visited for mothers day with my two kids and unfortunately the delay to the food service was really poor. it was meant to be a special meal and we were constantly distracted by the long delay in clearing our plates and delivery of food. We had the set menu and in the end we left without two deserts as we had onward commitments.

A brilliant night out for Mum’s birthday, a special mention to our waitress Grace who was very attentive and helped to make it a special evening.

Great pub to visit on a Sunday after a stroll. Excellent roast dinners served. Young staff are very attentive. Especially Grace she’s so helpful and does a great job at making your visit pleasant.

We had not been here for ages. Stopped visiting as service and food had deteriorated. But on this visit everything was perfect. The staff Louise, Jonathan, and Callum were charming quick and very polite. The food was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. We could not fault in any way. We have visited various Chef and Brewer venues but on this occasion this was the best. I guess that there's been a change in management and staff. Congratulations the visit could not have been any better. We will be back again soon.

Parking on arrival was limited, as quite a few spaces had been cordoned off for contractor's equipment who are in the process of refurbishment of the hotel rooms. We checked in to the restaurant and were shown to our table, which was a good size and position. Our server was Molly who was friendly and chatty. Drinks were a little slow to arrive and our order was taken. The food was OK, though not outstanding and the portions were quite adequate. The Yorkshire puddings were excellent as was the Green King IPA.

Great service, came late on a busy weekday night, very friendly staff who were very helpful and welcoming. Even though it was busy food service was quick and the food good, and good value. Good choice of beer too.

We chose this restaurant for a large family event (17 people + 1 dog). We were allocated a space all to ourselves. The staff were fantastic and the food was good (and better than at some other Chef and Brewer restraurants). Very relaxed. The staff were very accommodating and tolerant.

Very friendly staff great food lovely atmosphere nothing too much trouble. Warm and comfortable very dog friendly they even have their own water and treat station. Lovely pub inside and out! Great selection of foods, the specials board has some amazing choices! Our server Molly was an absolute delight, only her first week at The Wheatsheaf but she absolutely owned it!

The food here was lovely and so was the service. We had Grace looking after us and she was totally brilliant. We had a big party of us and a cake which she handled brilliantly. All the food came out hot and at the same time so big thanks to the chef as well! We had a great time, only put a four as the booking process was a bit of a pain and the manager unfortunately wasn’t so friendly over the phone or in person.
