Didn't find the staff rude the opposite actual, food was good but expensive £23.10 for 1 Tea 1 coffee and 2 mid range breakfasts.

Food is average and pre prepared and heated in microwave , staff just grumpy and rude , awful. The worst bit, overcharged. Make sure you ask for itemised bill or breakdown as they like to just give you a total to pay with no detail. Make sure you check what they tell you the total is against what they put into the credit card machine , we were overcharged £5.70 once the confirmation from bank came through a few minutes after paying . Terrible service and dishonest on the bill

Well what can I say, this is probably the worst cafe I’ve ever been to in my 55 years. Should have read the reviews before going. I had the smoke salmon with scrambled egg on toast. Don’t know what the egg was, but I can honestly I can say it was not egg. The toast must have been waved at the toaster, was more like bread. My daughters had burger and chips, The burgers where very greasy. I can honestly say I will never go again

Filthy dirty place. We all know many cafes full up ketchup bottles with cheap ketchup, but haven't changed the actual bottles for many years. The ketchup and brown sauce were presented in filthy dirty bodies, bottles with peeling labels and scum all around. Beware. This place is cash only despite clearly advertising, they take cards in the window. Why does a busy cafe in this 21st century not want to take cards?

Some old bald man was very rude and just horrible! We walked out after sitting there for 20 minutes and daring to ask for at least a drink when people were coming in after us getting served. They had clearly missed us but too rude to apologise and serve us.

Having seen varying reviews, I took the plunge and went at tea time (rush hour) mid-week; and I was pleasantly suprised. There were two male staff on duty, very attentive, polite; and good at their jobs. I had the beef strogonoff that comes with rice and salad, it was well cooked, hot, well presented; and tasty. Pudding was bread and butter pudding with custard, and again, it was well cooked, hot, and tasty. 2 mugs of tea, plus main course and desert came to £20.20, I guess that's about average nowadays. The whole place, tables, seats, toilets, crockery, and cutlery etc were all very clean. I was the only person in for the whole time I was there, about 1 hour, so I cannot really comment on how well the staff cope/what the food is like when they're busy. The menu is a bit generic, not too exciting, bar what I've written earlier, and if your a vegan/ vegetarian your choices, I have to say are very limited; apart from the usual omlette etc! The 'chefs special' board, with a few food options listed; are on the walls and easy to read. There is a large wrap round conservatory there, and signs indicate that dogs are allowed, but only in the conservatory, which is sensbile I think. Would I recommend the place, yes. would I go again; yes.

Vulgar bordering Disgusting food!! Burger was greasy and tasted like liver. Wife has a breakfast, cheap sausages cold beans and really not at all appetizing. Rude staff just about finished it off.. couldn't eat the burger and asked for a refund!

Scrambled egg and bacon on toast composed of probably the very worst egg have every been served, anywhere. in almost 6 decades on this planet. Tasteless, watery and clealy microwaved from some lazy pre mix powder type material. Disgusting mess.

The food here has always been good, i have been a regular customer for quite a while but today the lady who was a waitress was very abrupt and rude. The rest of the staff are fine.

Cheap and cheerful food, fast service and staff are friendly enough. Have stopped here a few times and it's always busy. Mickey's is better than a lot of roadside diners, so I'd chose this place over others any day.

Decent amount of parking and short queue. I ordered a coffee instead of a cappuccino and, within seconds a strong, instant coffee was pretty much slopped onto the counter! Not much of a bedside manner from my server but generally they looked friendly enough. The knick-knacks add character and the red/black decor is appropriate. The venue looked clean.

Friendly efficient staff and service with great food at reasonable prices. Dog friendly in the conservatory too. We had an excellent experience at this place and was very surprised to read the poor reviews, as this is opposite to ours today.

Service terrible used to be a well established diner when Mickey was alive now don’t waste your money or time going . Staff are rude & need human being skills !! Female boss is extremely rude to staff would not treat an animal with respect . Havent been there for a while but when I went there after a good while I found they had got rid of Heinz ketchup to change it with a vinigary cheap ketchup (bats ketchup )🤮 Has it changed ownership?? It was certainly dead on arrival??

Literally the worst breakfast that I’ve ever seen. Only to then find a hair in my mushrooms was enough for me to pay and swiftly leave. I shall never return. HNY

Good portions, good prices, I liked that they do two slices of toast one with baked beans one with scrambled egg. In other cafes it's usually two slices of toast with the same topping. The coffee was nice and hot, the service was really quick. Two vegetarian set cooked breakfast options and the veggie sausage was tasty.

Always had good food and served well but today was dreadful. We saw two men at a table with a dog on the bench furniture, then they put food on the table and allowed the DOG TO EAT OFF THE TABLE!! We complained to the waitress who shrugged her shoulders and said it’s ok as dogs are allowed in. Later, we saw the man feeding the dog using his own cutlery. YUCH!!! I complained again to who I guessed was the manager, and got the same reply that dogs are allowed in and that sort of thing is ok. I complained a third time when I paid the bill, and was just ignored and blanked out. I heard other customers complaining also but don’t know if they fared better than we did. We’ve been many times before, but definitely never again

Absolutely amazing little cafe tucked away near bluebell hill. The cafe was impeccably clean, even the toilets. This place allows pets as well. The staff are friendly and the food was amazing. Very efficient service. Only had a baguette and cappuccino but it was lovely....

Since the sad change in management, this place has gone downhill. Very expensive for the below average ingredients used. Customer service below average and rest rooms dirty. Not a good future in store for this diner if it fails to pull its socks up...

Thanks for being open, collected a roast dinner today for my Mum who is house bound and at risk. She said it was delicious. Much appreciated by her and by me.

We had a great breakfast here, the Eggs Benedict was superb, beautifully presented too. The full English was tasty and filling and my daughter loved the birds. Will definitely return.

I have seen this diner for years and allways fancied going in, so today i made the effort and im so glad i did.I usually stop at maidstone, folkestone or ashford or some other services that are on the way back from Dover or Eurotunnel, but they are just so busy. You wait for ages for food thats over priced and the people serving you really dont care about you or your food one bit.At Mickeys diner the minute you walk in your greeted by a charming young lady who is ready to take your order once you have sat down or at the bar for takeaway.If your lucky enough you may get to meet the legendary Mickey himself just as i did and what a character he is, such a lovely man.There is a lot of food to offer at this diner and its all freshly prepared. Whilst your wsiting you can admire the memorabilia all over the walls and hanging off the ceilings.There is plenty of seats for singles couples or families with children, its an ideal place to stop if your hungry and travelling that way. If your not passing then take a detour because Mickeys diner beats all the high priced junk food you get at the services hands down.I strongly recommend you visit this diner its convenient and fun and an experience you wont forget.I make a lot of journeys over the channel and back but i know where i will be stopping from now on !!!

The food was good, hot and plenty. However the owner bought a scratty little dog in and put it down on the bench seat next to me whilst I was eating to take a phone call!! There was also a strong aroma of bleach everytime the main door or toilet opened. Wont be going back. Wondering if the dog is allowed to roam around the kitchen and food prep area. Most probably is.

Visited here when travelling back home from a day visit to Maidstone.We saw this 'American diner' after a quick drive-by view when we were travelling to Maidstone and decided to visit it for lunch on the way back.As soon as we entered we realised that it was not so much an American diner and more of an old fashioned road side cafe. Cheap tables and chairs crammed together and a menu that was very truck stop.There were three of us and I had a cheeseburger and chips and the others were served fairly quickly. It soon became obvious that they had forgotten mine (my widfe and son had nearly finished theirs) and when i looked over to the kitchen area they started to look at the orders and then mine was quickly cooked. When it was delivered (without me saying a word) the cook said "we didn't forget you" which I took to mean yes we did.The food itself was very average with slightly soggy chips and cheap thin burgers with grated cheese on top.Overall a very under whelming experience and wished we had found somewhere else.

I've worked in Maidstone for the past 4 and a half years and I'm due to move for work once again. Stupidly I've only visited this place three times over the years. The food has always been of good quality and the service very quick. You cant fault the prices really as the portions are much bigger than a wetherspoons and the prices are very similar. Love the decor and the parrots kept in the conservatory.

Great service as usual at Mickey's. It's our go to place for breakfast en route to The Netherlands to visit my brother & his family after making an early start from north of Cambridge. Had 2 x gutbuster breakfasts. Great service as usual & would recommend it if you're passing.

Always passed this place but never stopped till now.

Proper British food with specials like liver and bacon, steak and kidney pudding, rice pudding and bread and butter pudding. All in addition to a full range of fried 'breakfast' type foods.

Lots to choose from,lovely staff however our breakfast was not as hot as it should have been unfortunately.Tasty sausages but cold beans and egg.

First time I have been to mickys diner ,was not disappointed the decor was Lovley from red chairs and checked table clothes as we entered we noticed some parrots which had a place outside the diner also where dogs can be taken hanging from the ceiling were records and memoribilla on the walls very interesting .food was delivered very hot and fresh and very filling will go again

We stopped here (2 adults & 2 children) for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't that busy & service was exceptionally quick. I wouldn't say that we received the warmest of welcomes & the staff though polite weren't overly friendly & there was a slight language barrier. I couldn't really fault the food, we had typical English breakfasts which were good & were served with decent beans (not nasty cheap ones) fried eggs were a little overcooked & with 2 kids meals of jackets & nuggets which the kids loved. I thought that for cafe/diner food it worked out a little expensive at over £40, I've eaten in similar places for less but all in all it was good food.

Been here a few times and every time the staff seem pretty miserable. I promise you, yet again, not one smile was seen in the serving and eating of this breakfast.

We stopped here for lunch on new years day it was very busy but we got served quickly and really enjoyed lunch, portion size was good, toilets nice and clean,it's dog friendly also, only thing was that everyone could hear the chef shouting at his colleagues would go back again

Had the miss fortune of stopping for breakfast here, never again the sausages were cold and like rubber with no taste, the coffee was like dish water, the beans were awful, my friends burger meat was rubbery, The bacon tasted like Plastic’ to be fair the chips were nice but you would have proper idiot to mess chips up. We only finished the chips and left the rest, We were charged nearly 25 pounds for the slop and all but the chips were left on the plate. As we paid I said to the the server “that was the worst meal I have ever had” he then smiled and said thanks very much.

Visited today for the first time

I was running late, so only had time for a quick egg & bacon buttie and a cuppa. Which was all delivered quickly and tasted lovely. Wish I'd had time for a full English, as looking at other peoples plates gave me breakfast envy :-) This will definitely be my brekkie spot whenever I'm passing.

Would really recommend this diner for a great breakfast. Excellent variety on the food front and always friendly staff.

Had a lovely breakfast here today, staff was friendly food was hot and tasty, would of like the drink included in the price, wasn't overly dear but the cost would of been better with the drink included, would definitely eat there again.

Love the decor of this diner and with some more love for the food and customers it could so easily be an excellent experience.

A vew days ago we stopped by Mickey's on the way to Canterbury to have a bite to eat. We regretted that. We ordered a cappuccino, a tea and pancakes. The cappuccino was coffee with milk, the tea came with milk in it without asking, and the pancakes were definitely not freshly made , but came out of the freezer, and were not even warm. Next time we don't stop here anymore.we advise you to do the same.

Stopped here with my mother-in-law for lunch yesterday. We have been here several times before and the food has always been great - as it was yesterday. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful and the food was great. I had the liver and bacon from the specials board and it was really delicious and plenty of it. I believe that you never used to be able to book here - but yesterday I noticed an information screen in the restaurant saying that you could book a table online. It is my understanding that this restaurant is not open in the evening.

Popped in with a couple of friends on a Saturday morning for breakfast, I must say service was very good and very welcoming. Fairly busy, and a good selection of food not only Brekkie. Better than any other local places where they serve Brekkie.

We came here early Sunday morning for breakfast. Really nice friendly service, lovely cup of tea. I had eggs benidict which was cook perfectly really was yum. My friend had poached eggs on toast but they weren't running at all. Other than that nice place I will return :)

Came today (4th may) with my dad for brekkie as it's one of his favourite places to eat breakfast or lunch before his bike rides with his friends. The place was absolutely packed out! Really busy no where to park, so need a bigger car park. But walked in and went to sit at an empty table only to be told nocant sit there sit in the corner, so had to squeeze past other eaters to get into the seat as the tables are quite close together. The staff after that seemed friendly enough, I asked for a redbull it didn't come in the can and didn't taste like real redbull either.. The menu has a little bit of everything on it, breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, baked potatoes which is nice as then it's not just fatty food.

If you are looking for a quick and easy fry up at the weekend here is the place! Service is always super quick and tables and chairs etc clean. Fry up is great and the choice available is good as you can add on items etc. Been here several times and will always come if I am looking for breakfast at the weekend.

Found my first and last visit to this diner very unpleasant. Everything looked grubby. What the kitchen is like I dread to think. Even a grubby smell when you walk in. Condiments had dirty finger marks on them together with old sauce congealed on bottles. Absolutely everything needs a good clean . That includes fixtures and fittings.

We come here often for Sunday breakfast. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a warm welcome and shown to a table. Food orders come out piping hot and everything is nicely cooked with no grease. If you want a good breakfast without having to wait ages in a spotlessly clean environment then this is the place to go.

We went for breakfast as a group, just the 3 of us. All in all not bad effort. I'd eat here again without hesitation. Usual cafe breakfast I had.

We were told about this eatery by the proprietor of our B&B; who didn't happen to be doing B when we stayed. You head north from the M20 for a mile or two & then there's a filling-station on the left, & that's where Mickey's is, too. It seems to have started life as a Little Chef, but is now a sort of quasi-American diner, with English food. We got a decent breakfast, which was just what we wanted. The lady who served us was a little harrassed, but very pleasant. The price was OK, at £15 for the two of us, & we've been in both better & far worse places. Take it as you find it, we'd say.

We visited this cafe for a bite to eat on our way home. Firstly there was a party going on, so we were put into a quiet room to get peace to eat, but room had 3 large cages containing parrots, not ideal eating partners.

This is as revolting as you can get, food is disgusting, cold and tasteless! All food seems to be pre cooked and kept in a Bain Marie, tell this by how quick it came out! And someone pls leave a book on manners in there, staff especially the owners are outrageously rude! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Just had a quick breakfast on our day off. We were the only people in there and yet our breakfasts were both stone cold, apart from the egg which is obviously fried up to order. There are plenty of other places nearby who will give you a freshly cooked, hot, fried breakfast so we'll be going there in future. Such a shame.

I have now been here four times over that last 4 months - as i meet a work colleague here for breakfast, when he pops up from Southampton. But now i am going to suggest to meet somewhere else.On all occasions I found the owner could have a better attitude, the food is ok but to date i have not had what I would call a hot meal.Will I be going back - no I don't think so If you have not been try it - but be prepared to be a little disappointed

Went in Sunday morning 8th Oct for a spot of brunch. The waitress asked us to grab a table and she'd be straight over. Yes there was only the two of us but as the restaurant was half empty we sat on a four seater so we could sit on a bench next to each other rather than on a tiny table opposite. When the waitress came over to take our order the little rude man (who I can only assume was the duty manager) instructed her to get us to move on to a smaller table. My girlfriend didn't mind but I'd never felt so embarrassed so asked her if we could go eat somewhere else, which we did do in a better ambience. Won't be going back.

We love this place and have been here loads of times. We visited yesterday lunchtime (Sunday) most recently - we already knew we wanted to try the giant Yorkshire pudding filled with mashed potato, veg and three different roast meats (beef, pork and turkey) with gravy. It didn't disappoint. This is a no frills diner and the food is always very good and lots of it - it's not expensive either, always very good value, I would thoroughly recommend it.

This diner is literally on our doorstep, and in the past few years we have enjoyed a lot of meals here, a quick lunch, or a treat for the kids. But so much has changed. It has been updated internally, and looks a lot more spacious, and welcoming, but that is where the praise ends. We were surprised at how quiet it was, only 5 tables occupied so we thought we would be in and out with no hold ups. Wrong. Took our order for drinks which arrived, then we had to sit and wait for the food order to be taken. Those before us had had no orders taken, so it was a complete farce as no one knew who to see to first. Then the couple next to us found hairs in his meal, whilst hers was cold and greasy. They left without paying. Our meal took ages to arrive and when it did it was ok. About 30 minutes wait for two burger meals and an omelette. Then the couple across from us returned one meal as the food was not what was ordered, and the partner ate his food and then told them that his order was incorrect too. What has happened here? Was always busy, always good service, and would have recommended to others. Only 3 staff, no system, complete dissorganised, and will not be returning.

Waiter had a fake Rolex, enjoyed picking and wiping his nose in front of customers. Had one eye looking at you, the other, for you. His customer service skills was appalling. The food was disgusting and had been under a heat bulb for way too long. His personal hygiene was atrocious, and I imagine broke many many regulations. The only good thing I can say about this dive, is when you leave, you never have to experience it again.AVOID AVOID AVOID

A group of 14 of us met for breakfast here one Saturday morning. It was busy so pleased that we had booked. I have passed this diner hundreds of times but never thought that it would be serving such good quality food. Our friends who regularly go to the diner recommended it.All 14 of us had different breakfast options with most of us having a variation on the full English breakfast - including a lovely, vegetarian full English. Everywhere in the diner is spotlessly clean and the service is very efficient and I love that it is family-run rather than a chain.We will definitely be going back!

We visited after the Kent Garden Show in Detling. The diner was quiet with only a couple of people in the conservatory. On entering one of the waitresses was feeding the two African grey parrots that are in the entrance, she greeted us as we went in. We found a table and had a look at the menu, I ordered a burger & chips, my dad had the shepherds pie. We had a little wait while the food was prepared but drinks were bought out promptly. The burger was nice and freshly cooked exactly as I ordered it, the shepherds pie was also really nice. The price is reasonable for a good meal and the staff we encountered were friendly.

I was looking for a simple place to have a simple meal with family.I have passed Mickeys a thousand times on the way UP Bluebell Hill, Chatham, but what a little gem this turned out to be!Lets lok at the positives; The food is all home cooked, no frills but hot, hearty and loads of it! The place is spotlessly clean and although the decor is eclectic at best I loved looking at all the different "stuff" on the walls.The negatives; service is functional and sporadic and you don't get addressed as "guys". All staff wear logoed poloshirts and were clean and tidy.Back to positives, this restaurant offers such a wide arrangement of dishes, I think everyone should be catered for breakfasts are hearty, in fact not one meal we saw was rubbish or sparing on content.The beer is cold, the tea is strong, Sundays is a carvery as well, and the puddings, good old fashioned!!But don't take it from me, if you are in rhe area do your self and your wallet a favour and visit. We will certainly be back!

My partner had a Monroe breakfast (scrambled egg on toast, bacon, sausage and baked beans) while I had beans on toast. All the ingredients were good quality and the service was friendly and efficient.

The owner and his staff are surly and inattentive and have the attitude they're doing you a favour.Food is ok but is overpriced but they lost me at the door with their lack of anything approaching friendliness or civility. We visited here with the grandchildren, its ok but not somewhere I would go out of my way for.The children had pizza and chips, the pizza's were hard to cut, and the chips were frozen chips deep fried which i am not a fan ofI had a mega breakfast, again the chips sames as the children, which was a disappointment, otherwise enjoyableAN OK experience and not badly priced, just the lack of home cook chips really
