We wanted to book for our daughters birthday but had left if late on a busy Friday night. The team were very accommodating and made space for us. There was a nice atmosphere and nice live music (which is perfect, not too loud). The food and service we had was excellent, 8 of us ate starters, main and pudding and it was really reasonable price wise. I would highly recommend but suggest booking as it gets quite busy. We will be back. The staff and food were excellent.

Went for lunchtime meal in bar area. Tuesday.Had to approach the bar to ask for waiting staff to take orders for meal and then dessert. Chicken breast was bland and had a bone sticking out of it, very small portion. Waitress took dessert order and forgot to give it to kitchen staff , subsequently dessert took over 35 mins to arrive . Having eaten, was still left feeling hungry sadly. Apart from Ursula who was on the ball, waiting staff very slow . Spoke to both owners ref issues. Who seemed keen to take remarks on board.Had reduction to bill which was appreciated, As they didn’t have too.but overall I feel menu very small , limited , and the Thatched has always been my go to for good quality, decent, well cooked food and sadly, this wasn’t the quality I’ve come to expect. Appreciate teething troubles but so very disappointed.

We visited today for a Roast as a treat for my birthday. The food was excellent, big portions and served in a timely manner. Pudding was lovely and fresh as well. The staff were very friendly but do have to say we had to keep asking for drinks, but this would certainly not stop us from returning. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Last night of our visit to the UK and our friends suggested we go here ( their own favourite ) before we see them again in December. We can easily understand why it's their favourite. From the moment we entered, the place, the atmosphere, the menu, the service, the wine, and, finally, the food were all absolutely superb. It's not often that we miss British pubs and their food offerings, but we'll miss everything about The Highwayman until we're able to to go again. Huge Thanks from us to everyone involved with The Highwayman for a wonderful evening.

My friends and I came to The Bells for dinner and what a treat! The bar staff were friendly and welcoming and the pub itself was wonderfully spacious, with lots of different areas including garden seating. The food was delicious, hats off to the chef. The range of food was great, including sharers and “Bar Snack” options (the best chicken strips and prawns!) to suit everyone. The Baileys Brownie sundae was also devine! Thanks for a fab experience and look forward to coming again. Would thoroughly recommend.

Location is great, staff is friendly and helpful, the room was ok but it could have been cleaner.

Winchester is jam packed with cafes, so the Cathedral may not be your first thought. But check it out, delightful location, nicely separated from the Cathedral and, surrounding lawns. Stokist Jude's Ice Cream. First class Fruit Scone. Macciato a bit on the milky side. Hayling Seagoon

Two guys behind the counter today giving excellent service and upselling without being pushy. Both have excellent rapport skills with the local clientele. Excellent coffee also

We went for Sunday lunch on 02/03/25. Ambience and table layout good. Service was attentive and all the staff knew their brief and were professional and pleasant in their demeanor. The food was above average. Starters are inventive and interesting. The sirloin of beef was succulent and had a good flavour. The roast potatoes require attention. An important part of the dish failed miserably. They were black and soft. Rest of veg was good. The bone marrow worked well. Very generous portions too. They did well, but unfortunately the roast potatoes did not come up to mustard!

I came to Ramsgate as a tourist. At about noon I went into this pub and asked if their kitchen was open. Outside a sign stated food all day. The very apologetic bartender said sorry, drinks only. Disappointment, because the place looked ok. She directed me towards other establishments near by, so thanks for that.
