Fantastic little, authentic pub nestled among shops in Canterbury, GB. Loved spotting familiar license plates on the walls and the server was terrifically accommodating offering to snap photos of us. If you're looking for a true British pub experience, this is the perfect spot! The fish and chips were extremely tempting, but opted for Thai that did not disappoint.

Fantastic traditional English pub...restaurant set on a quiet road in the centre of the chilterns on 10th December I took my family, my siblings and partners for a get together Christmas lunch. We were given a secluded almost private room with a dedicated waitress plus others helped. The food was fresh hot and delicious, the staff there are amazing so fruendly, attentive and polite, quite like home from home. Lou the landlady ably aided by Poppy her daughter run a tight friendly ship all geared towards the customers needs. All of us had traditional Christmas fayre, drop of wine. It was nice and warm we all appreciated at our age, I am 74 the baby there is two years between the 5 of us it was comfortable. No hesitation in recommending it.

I had a shocking experience at The Pier Hotel, Eastbourne, and I strongly urge others to avoid staying here. The entire ordeal was a nightmare from start to finish. When I arrived a little earlier than the 2 pm check-in time, the front door was locked, and there was a piece of paper attached saying it would only be open from 2 pm to 10 pm. This is highly unusual and unprofessional for a hotel. I returned at 2 pm and was greeted by a receptionist named Muhammad, who told me that the room I had booked—a single room with a bath—was no longer available due to “bad bugs.” When I asked if he meant “bed bugs,” he curtly corrected me but offered no apology for the inconvenience or lack of communication beforehand regarding this health hazardous conditions they were in. I reluctantly agreed to accept a different room, as there were no other options, but when I asked about their lost key policy (they charge £60 if a key is lost but no one will be there to collect my keys at the reception when I check out at 10am), the receptionist suddenly became hostile. He shouted at me, told me I could no longer stay, and claimed he would cancel my booking. His behaviour was completely unprofessional and shocking, leaving me stranded in Eastbourne and scrambling to find alternative accommodation at the last minute. The hotel itself is run-down and feels abandoned. The restaurant and bar areas are barricaded from outside with rubbish around and look nothing like the photos online. To make matters worse, after I reported the incident to the online booking agents the hotel falsely claimed that I refused to stay when in fact it was their staff who refused to accommodate me. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had in or outside the UK. It is unprofessional, dishonest, and in terrible condition. I’ve reported the incident to the online booking agent, including photos to prove the state of the property. Avoid this place at all costs—Eastbourne is a lovely town, but this hotel will ruin your trip.

I came to Ramsgate as a tourist. At about noon I went into this pub and asked if their kitchen was open. Outside a sign stated food all day. The very apologetic bartender said sorry, drinks only. Disappointment, because the place looked ok. She directed me towards other establishments near by, so thanks for that.

The Frog and Nightgown had been recommended to a group of 10 of us for a few drinks to start a Friday night out in Newport Pagnell. The pub was warm and characterful and we stayed for a few rounds of drinks sitting around one of the tables near the bar. Some of us then stood at and around the bar area near to the table talking. We were asked by a very rude member of staff (we assumed the manager, with short curly hair) to please “sit on our seats as we were blocking the staff’s walk way”. We were simply standing around the bar finishing our drinks. We swiftly moved on to receive a lovely welcome at the Cannon pub nearby but were all shocked at the previous request and its delivery. I’ve never been asked to sit down in a pub before like a child at school. Won’t go back anytime soon.

Absolutely amazing place to eat with the loveliest staff, The most wonderful Father’s Day meal here today, the roast dinner has got to be one of, if not the best roast we’ve had. Portion sizes were generous, the creamiest tastiest cauliflower cheese, and the honeycomb cheesecake is something that will make us come back on its own! 5 stars from us- a happy (very full) family!

Absolutely fabulous Sunday lunch. Everything was cooked to perfection and the array of vegetables was delicious. Good value for money. Such a welcoming pub and great service from all staff, but a special mention to Evie who was very attentive. So glad the Sunday roast is back on !

delivery driver couldn't find my house so he parked nearby and I had to walk, which is mostly fine, but subway screwed up my order too, what was supposed to be one of the custom meatball marinara subs was just the extras I ordered and not the actual samwitch filling, hoping I get a refund but don't know how to report it and ask for one
