Excellent service, we dealt with Michelle who was happy to help. This business allows dogs in, which pleased us. The food was fabulous and not that expensive. Will definitely visit again and recommend you pop in.

Eaten here many times over the years. This is always our go to pub to meet up for a natter. Did pre book online. 1 had normal roast, I had the mushroom wellington the vegetarian option and the other had fish and chips. All meals up to the usual high standard and all very well enjoyed, We all had ice cream for puddings. All staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful, the food is great value for money and if you are in the area please pop in and give it a try.

We found our way to this wonderful pub for lunch while in the Slough area, and it was thoroughly delightful. The food was excellent, the atmosphere most welcoming, and the service friendly and efficient. Really good fish and chips! If we could transport this pub to Waco, Texas, it would be at the top of our regular favorites list; however, since it’s destined to remain in England, we will carry it forward simply as a very good memory.

The pub has been known for its varied menu reasonably priced and has had its deserved reputation for keeping excellent real ales recognised by inclusion in the 2025 edition of the CAMRA Good Beer Guide

Out for a late lunch for my wife's birthday meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was top notch and the staff were very courteous and friendly. A special shout out to Michelle and Jake for their prompt service. Looking forward to our next visit.

Celebrating my birthday with a birthday breakfast/brunch with the family 7 adults & 2 toddlers. From booking with Michelle & being served by Nicky & Jan we all had a great experience, with great food for a great price. Can not recommend this place enough we will definitely be back. Thanks guys 😃 

The staff at this country-style pub accommodated our party of three for dinner as a walk-in on a Saturday night with no prior booking. The restaurant area was full but there was plenty of seating in the bar, where we ate. I had an enjoyable main of fish and chips. Piping hot cod with crispy batter was accompanied by a wedge of lemon, creamy tartar sauce, thick cut chips and mushy peas. After that, I had a little bit of room left for dessert so followed it with a mini biscuity cheesecake drizzled with strawberry coulis and a pot of tea. This is the third time I’ve dined at the Red Lion and in addition to the consistently good food, I’ve enjoyed the friendly and helpful service from the attentive staff. Prices are reasonable and there’s plenty of parking.

A lovely breakfast this morning. Quality ingredients cooked perfectly and not at all greasy. The RL is dog friendly, the staff offered my dog a sausage - her most favourite thing! So she’ll be back :-) Great service. Would thoroughly recommend.

Thank you to Jan who was accomadating in finding us a table. We only came for a drink but ended up having a few starters too. Garlic mushroom were delicious, squid was nice & crispy and the halloumi fries were lovely too!! A really enjoyable evening. Thank you to Michelle S as well, friendly and professional. This red lion is one of the best I have been to yet, I have visited many but the staff here are so lovely and accommodating. Thankyou to Jan who served us and looked after us. We had a memorable evening and will recommend this fantastic pub/restaurant to anyone in the area/visiting.

Turned up on the off chance one Sunday lunchtime. The restaurant was full so we ate in the bar. Food was excellent and staff excellent. Definitely worth another visit.

I moved out of the area 3 years ago but whenever I come for a visit this is my go to place to meet up with friends … I did pre book online. We had a meal off the supper menu I think it was called Starters:-creamy garlic mushrooms on bread-they were very yummy Main:-fish & chips a firm favourite of mine Pudding:-I had 3 scoops of ice cream my friend had coffee with a mini pudding I must say once again all clean plates handed back Our waiter for the evening was a young lad who was very nice to deal with, I am sorry I didn’t get his name. All in all a lovely evening great food & company. I will be back the next time I come down for a visit See you again when I am next down visiting

Jan, Alex and the Team continue to provide a warm friendly welcome and service. The range of menu options is very good and always value for money, Allied to this the pub has a growing reputation for serving a range of excellent real ales this was confirmed recently when a member of the CAMRA Tasting Judges Panel marked the Greene King IPA and St. Austell Tribute 4 out of 5 Very Good on the scoring scale Well Deserved

I went for lunch with my daughter, son-in-law and grandson. Staff are always helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. We all had fish and chips. Great place to have lunch, dinner. Or just to pop in for a drink.

The Red Lion is our local and we come here at least once a week, sometimes more! The Red Lion serve good wholesome pub grub and one or two special dishes, the food is always great quality and well presented. The staff are very friendly and the service is always excellent, Michelle and Lily have taken great care of us tonight!

I had booked a table but was disappointed to be shown a tiny table in a corner within about 2 foot of the next table. Refused it and sat near the bar. I ordered the seabass and scallops. 2 tiny pieces of fish and 2 tiny scallops. Costing £17.99!! It was more of a starter! However my partner had the Korean chicken and it was good!

Christmas Lunch was most enjoyable. The customer service was second to none once again. Everybody goes out of their way to maintain high standards. In addition, the rotating selection of Real Ales is excellent. Highly recommended

We had a great celebration lunch here and the staff went out of their way to make it really special, nothing was too much trouble. The menu varied and as well as the normal pub fair had a few unexpected specials. I’ld recommend the leaving room for the Salted Caramel Sundae if you have a sweet tooth like me.

Had a brilliant night catching up with friends. Have been here a few times for a Sunday roast (which is great) and suggested here to them. My friends were totally impressed. Never been more disappointed with a meal. For a start the waiter came over and said he had a Turkey dinner, we told him we hadn't order Turkey he look at plate again and said Pork, which I had ordered. Asked if we wanted any sauces, requested Apple Sauce and Mustard. The plates were cold and the food barely warm, gravy was instant gravy mix and so thick you could stand a spoon in it. Roast potatoes were barely coloured, don't know what they cooked them in but there was a garlicy/herby taste to them. Needless to say won't be going back

My wife and I were travelling past and decided to drop in for lunch. That is much harder than you might imagine as my wife is coeliac so requires gluten free food and care to avoid cross-contamination. Often this means maybe a jacket potato if lucky. Imagine our delight when we met friendly and helpful staff, offering advice and a separate gluten-free menu with a wide choice of meals. The Signature Burger was superb and even came with a gf bun which did not fall apart to the touch! My non-gf Mixed Grill was also delicious and (very) filling! Will definitely stop by when we are next in the area, and so should you!

We stopped off here on our journey to Cornwall to charge the car and have some lunch. The staff were friendly and very helpful in dealing with our baby’s allergies when ordering from the menu. The pub was nice, conveniently located off the motorway and the ev charger was fast and reliable!

I did hesitate giving this pub four stars as the staff were friendly and service was on point. Food was hot and portion sizes were ok. But surely that’s what you expect when you eat out? The food wasn’t anything other than as expected - not awesome and not bad. That’s really important to us so not sure I would go running back when inundated with good local eateries - I couldn’t tell if the dessert was out of a packet. It was our son’s bday which the staff knew but she didn’t do anything special for him, as other establishments have done, so as locals they missed an opportunity.
