I had a few hours to spend in ramsgate.i went in looking to buy a pint and I was refused for some unknown reason while a group of dodgy looking men sitting around a table. God knows what was going on.

Watched football, had a lovely service, table to sit and plenty of screens to watch it on.

Always a warm welcome, and the prices are spot on. Always clean and tidy. Would recommend this place for a great drink

Always good service they show sport on the TVs if your interested volume kept low quiet place with mainly elderly customers but friendly atmosphere closes at 7pm beer is kept to a high standard unfortunately the royal has been sold for redevelopment

Hadn't been in there for years brought back some lovley memories

The staff are absolutely amazing!! We watched the England euros game and didn’t have a table and they accommodated us amazingly. They are all so friendly! I am pregnant and diabetic and needed to eat but they don’t do food other than from across the road (which I couldn’t eat) so they said I could grab something and bring it in. This was just AMAZING as they could have told me tough sh*t but they were just the best people and I can’t thank them enough otherwise I would have had to sit out side in the cold to eat something. Thank you!!

We visitred on a Saturday night and early in tghe evening it was fairly quiet, at 9pm the drinks went down to £2 a bottle and the disco started, the place suddendly filled up with youngsters!! We had a good night !

Overpriced to what I'm used to. Feels more like aimed n designed for much younger generations. Bar staff very friendly and helpful not so.keen on some of door staff come across very patronising n rude blatantly taking the mickey out of u thinking u too drunk to realise

Cheap as chips pubs it's OK for a cheap beer that's it.

Loved this place. After 9 PM the music and club atmosphere kicks in and it's great.

Came into the pub meeting a friend for a few beers,very loud group of men sitting at the back unfortunately swearing, spoilt our visit to the Royal hope it's not a regular in the pub, Alan Williams

The door staff are rude and disrespectful, I am not a young person, and live by the motto, treat others how you want to be treated.. I am not surprised that the younger people kick off...( I must add that the bar staff were great and there were smiles all round)

Modern sports bar. Plenty of tv's to watch sports and more than enough seating. Fair prices.

Firstly just like to thank all the staff on last night at the Royal (Saturday 13th July). We had a Hen Party there last night and it was amazing. The whole team made us feel so welcome. Can't thank them enough for making a night a memorable one. We danced all night and music was just our kind. With the DJ making shout outs to us and playing songs requested. Get priced drinks and such a nice atmosphere. Would definitely like to return.

Very good impressive all round great view of sea and beach from balcony. Beware of seagulls if eating outside.

Visited for a private function in 1st floor area, has bar and plenty of space for family or work gathering

Awful atmosphere for a night out in my opinion. Not worth paying to get in. The floors are always sticky and the music is terrible and it's always so crowded

Nice bar. Serves food. Has some great offers on food and drink. Late nights Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Have to rate the Royal high, Mr Webster and his team, overlooking the harbour and beer second to none

Not a fan of this pub.Tried twice and both times same disappointed outcome.A large noisy sports bar, which hosts regular load and obnoxious wasters.Spirits are an absolute rip off too. Wouldn't be a place I'd want to take kids, and definitely wouldn't entertain taking anyone there to impress. Much nicer places close by.

This place is vile! I live above this place and in all the years living here I have been in here once! I went for a "thirsty thursday" night when the drinks we're £1 for a spirit an splash. The bouncers were rude as were most of the staff, they play the same music every night and this night was no different and the drinks were disgusting! I wasn't expecting them to be great for a quid but f****ing hell they were bad!

Reasonable prices on ale, very pleasant to sit and relax after a photo walk. Calm pleasant place in the day.

Nice place to have a beer during the day, shame the toilets smell so much they need to clean the them from top to bottom daily!

Had the 2 meals for £6,99 I had spaghetti carbonara it only had few bits of ham in it, it was tasty though with a garlic bread on side. Hubby had ham egg & chips(processed 3 slices square ham). Our friends fared better with cod & chips and all day breakfast but these werent on the £6,99 deal,

It's an ok pub, nothing special, lacks character, looks like a throwback to 1999 inside, if you close your eyes you can smell New Labour.

Grate staff and place all away made welcome

Visited with 8 other family members for a catch-up post-Christmas meal. Everyone was delighted with their food, between a mixture of fish and chips, steaks, the fish platter and a veggie burger. All food arrived promptly and hot! Desserts were also delicious. We had a lovely large table, sometimes as a bigger group we end up being shoved round the back somewhere, but this table suited us well and was bright and accessible. Plenty of choice on the menu. Would definitely recommend!

Paid entry club, but one of the best in thanet!

Well came in here for dinner. Don't know why we bothered. It took 45 minutes to do our food, there was no one else ordering food. When we got it it was such a small meal. You would need a magnifying glass to find it. There were only 7 very small chips on the plate. I know because I counted them, and a tiny bit of salad. The Chicken was nice though. We will never go there again. This is the smallest meal I have ever had. When we got home we had to cook a meal, we were hungry. If you want a real meal, don't go here. Not a good experience.

Good service and cheaper beers earlier on in the day with cheap meals for 2. Large spacious area and well equipped. Definitely worth a visit or two. Has a great view of the harbour and good place to wait for the bus especially if going Broadstairs direction (you look through the front window and run if a bus arrives)

Sitting gazing across the harbour and daydreaming. The only place for lunch has to be The Royal. The steak and ale pie is to die for. Never have I ever experienced such a meat filled feast. On a winters day it's the best .

Two words - Thirsty Thursday!!!!

Booked the attic bar above the Royal for a function. This place is amazing and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Everything we asked was done and the food was fantastic. Everything was presented perfectly and there was a great choice. A massive thank you to them for making our engagement party so great!!!

Stopped here when out with my parents who,live locally. Just had drinks as we were on our way to another restaurant, however we will give this a try as the food looked good and interesting and the prices seemed very fair as well. The place has been done up and is no longer the dark low area it was once. Will be investigating this one. Ales were good as well!
