Superb food and very quick service.

Nice restaurant with beautiful terrace by the sea. Food was good, but the service was even better. Nice waitress who sensed the atmosphere perfectly.

Probably one of the best fish and chip pub meals I’ve ever had. Crispy batter and lovely flaky fish. Staff were rushed off their feet on a busy Saturday lunch time but our order was taken promptly and food came quickly.

Firstly I was ignored at the bar. When I did get served I had a job making myself heard over the karaoke that was on. Then I went upstairs to the restaurant where I was further ignored. Drank my drink and left. Good thing I didn't eat there as the prices were astronomical.

Its all about the view, which is marvellous . All the way through to Deal across the bay . The rest is incidental , that being said the food was okay , as was the service . Gourmet it is not but it fills a corner and was not unpleasant

Lovely pub. Right on coastal path, and about a 15 min walk from the campsite in Ramsgate. Dogs allowed in the bar and made to feel welcome. Food was excellent and good value. Nice Kent ales on tap. Fabulous big sun deck area out the back. Service and staff were excellent, right down to retrieving my lost sunglasses for collection the next day! Thoroughly recommend this pub/restaurant.

Lovely beer in the garden on a beautiful sunny day. The view across the sea is stunning. It was busy, but the service was quick. Perfect place for a drink or a meal.

Second time in a week here for family lunch. Really great pub - food is tasty - outside terrace as good as it gets - and the staff are very welcoming and friendly - especially our waitress who was superb!

Basically all service is perfect, food , atmosphere and view..... but pizza!!! OMG 😳 Absolutely rubbish to be honest!!! One of the worst pizza I have eaten in the UK. Staff very helpful and friendly, other food such as burger and fish really good 👍. The garden and view are fantastic!

Great location away from the hustle ad bustle of the town. Live band performing on the Bank holiday Sunday was great. Only had drinks but despite being the only person standing at the bar I had to ask one of the four people behind the bar if anyone was serving as they were to busy throwing balls of paper at each other. The bar and floor were a mess. Other than that a good couple of hours spent.

Amazing service and brilliant food! ❤️ The view to the sea is spotless. If you are up to relaxing time without seagulls above your head to enjoy outside sitting and the view this is the place to go to. Friendly prices, tasty food, great coffee break! We had a coffee with dessert. Lisa and Ryan were serving us. Locally baked as fresh a it is possible could be scone was AMAZING! I'm not big fan of scone, but this one converted me! Size of a palm, nicely presented on a board with butter, clotted cream and a mini jar of jam was stunning(up to the level of happy dance when you enjoy food!) thank you Lisa and Ryan! It was first our visit, but definitely not the last!!!! ❤️

Had a lovely visit to the Belle Vue Tavern recently! We’ve eaten here before, the food was okay, however this time we noticed a big improvement. The atmosphere along with the view of the bay and the lovely garden area made for a great visit! Would definitely recommend coming here!

Having been there many times before, lunch was disappointing. The menu was quite restricted compared to past visits. Fish and chips was off the menu on Friday lunchtime! We seemed to have been forgotten, as having ordered drinks, we waited half an hour to order food. The pudding menu was half it's usual size, most things were crossed out with a felt pen. Presentation awful. Not the place we were used to visiting in the past. New management and it shows. Won't be returning.

Great food, friendly service and fantastic sea views. Book a table upstairs for dinner and watch the tide go out as lots of birds gather, whilst enjoying quality food. The staff are very welcoming and professional and there’s ample free parking. As someone who’s explored a lot of the south coast, i’d consider this a hidden gem if you’re in the area.

We have tried eating at the Belle Vue 3 times over the last year - believing that maybe we were unlucky! Last weekend my husband said "lets try again because even they can manage a couple of pizzas". Nope the worst pizzas we have ever eaten! Come on guys you have a pub in an amazing position get this sorted!

Lovely venue and we go there most times for dinner when in Ramsgate (10 minute walk away) Staff are amazing along with the food quality so always a winner 🏆

Didn't eat here on our visit (my first time actually visiting - I was taken by a friend who lives in Ramsgate) - but the food being served looked amazing! The service at the bar was friendly and quick too. A beautifully decorated place, it had a nice feel to it as you walked in; very relaxing atmosphere on the Friday afternoon that we ventured in. We went outside onto the terrace and the view was every bit as stunning as I'd been told; absolutely gorgeous spot! Cool ciders were enjoyed with an incredible view of the sea. A fabulous place. Would certainly visit again should the opportunity arise.

Only had one drink each ,no food so can't rate it .

Went for a walk at Pegwell Bay nature reserve with our dog and went to pub afterwards for lunch. Lovely view across the bay, nice food setting.

Lovely place for a drink, nice pub but I’d say fisherman’s board in sharers should be moved to starters instead For the price of £24 with two tiny slices of bread, served cold with tons of spread with nothing to spread it on was a waste of money unless you wanted to order extra slice for another £2,50 Not impressed The amount of butter that came on that plate would last for two days Mussels were delicious tho again this place should consider to serve it with baguette or bread as chips not totally coming with it I get all the fancy pricey bread thing but sometimes it’s not necessary and paying extra for a slice just to enjoy the left over sauce not good …

Been here many times. Good beer and nice snacks. We had cheese and chutney sandwich, crab thermador and prawn cocktail . Today was disappointing as the cheese salad had hardly any filling and the crab sauce not good. We didn't complain and put it down to the young team. To months ago had a great Sunday lunch.

A nice pub with good views from the garden

Only an hours visit but service okay, beer okay, not doing food after 5pm Friday evening. So I left.

Served by an indifferent young man. The Master Brew was great. The glass of wine wasn't. Not to worry. She didn't drink it but left the wine on the bar on the way out and mentioned it to Mr Indifferent to bring it to his attention. He turned to a female manager on the wrong side of the bar for guidance. Without even looking up, she said 'there's nothing wrong with the wine because they have a wine saver'. Huh! We left but got agitated with the attitude. No 'do you want your money back', or, 'do you want a replacement', or 'can we get you something else'? Just indifference.

If you sit outside and order starters and mains, they all come at the same time!!! Apparently that is what happens if you sit outside. Thanks for telling us when we ordered. So you get your crab starter and roast beef dinner they come together? You have to pay when you order though so why oh why can they not bring the starters first followed by your main when you finish your starter?. It would not all fit on the table. Not impressed or happy. Will not return .

An absolutely lovely place, particularly in summer with the outdoor terrace where they have bands play on a Sunday. Only criticism is a lack of gluten free food on a Sunday afternoon (dunno about the rest of the time as I’ve not had food here since I’ve been GF). On Sunday afternoons they offer several pizzas but no GF option on these.

Typical Shep pub. Beer a bit overpriced but good quality. Sunday Roast is okay for the money, but again, okay, but not exceptional.

Went for lunch but ended up having drinks only. The menu is quite boring and limited now. They used to have a lovely home made pie and other nice specials but not any more. We sat and had a drink, the blue fabric tub chairs we sat in overlooking the balcony were really dirty and stained, on the arms and the seat. This place isn't what it used to be.

Wonderful Sunday Roast with a view over the water. Friendly staff and lovely service.

It was lovely, very friendly, very welcoming, lovely food would highly recommend.

The young bar staff were great, chatty, busy and smiling. The older bar staff were very sour, not a flickers of a smile or welcoming comment. I hate 'who's next' shouted out, good bar staff have a rough idea of who is next! It was busy but that has been the same during the summer/sunny warm days for years! We love the location and have been many, many times but probably won't go back for a while, not a nice experience!

Our first Sunday lunch at the Belle Vue. Full menu plus traditional Sunday lunch. Three of us opted for roast beef, one for roast chicken and one for nutroast. All were first class my roast beef delicious and a good portion of meat. The vegetables were great as were the yorkshire puds. We'll be back!

Horrible experience at Bell Vue Pub! Waited an agonizing half-hour just to get a drink, and the queue didn't budge on a busy bank holiday weekend. The place was understaffed and chaotic, with no sense of organization. Definitely won't be returning!

Stunning view, fab location but pants food. Very very dry literally toast sandwich. Nice flavors but not what you expect a toasted sandwich to be. 3 layers of dry toast. Will go back but just for drinks and the view.

Beautiful location, stunning views, excellent staff & ambience in the restaurant. Beef Sunday roast was superb ( a pity the lamb had all gone and there was no cauliflower cheese available) roast potatoes were yummy & good vegetable trio of green beans,red cabbage and sweet potato mash. Crab Thermidor starter was perfect . Vegetarian menu was good with various options. Highly recommended . Price range starters £7 upwards ,mains £14 upwards. beef roast was £18.95

Came across this lovely pub whilst walking the coastal path (Pegwell Bay to Ramsgate). Very clean and tidy inside, we took our dogs through to the garden area overlooking the bay as we got a fairly strange look by a lady behind the bar (dogs weren’t dirty, just damp after a light rain shower), but there were some very clean and very well groomed dogs inside🤔). The rest of the staff were very chatty and cheerful; the bar prices were ok, we didn’t eat, but we will be returning for food on our next walk.

We dined at midday in the upstairs restaurant overlooking Pegwell Bay, it was quiet and very relaxing with a superb view overlooking the bay. The food was good value and as tasty as you could expect for 'pub grub' The waitress was very friendly and attentive and we wouldn't hesitate to return. I think a 3 star rating does not do justice to the venue but would not like to mislead people, 3.5 / 4 is perhaps a more accurate assessment.

Have eaten here three times in past 6 months. The evening meal we had in November was great. Good vegetarian food Came back with a friend 2 months ago. They wouldn't serve us lunch as they had a large party. They did eventually offer us a Fried camembert. It was ok. I just ordered a bruschetta. It was cold, straight from the fridge. Had no dressing, wasn't toasted and not a drop of olive oil. I don't expect much from British pubs these days but that was an insult. To add to the injury the cheese melted chips were barely warm. How they'd managed to melt the cheese must be a miracle of science.

I love the location and building, so had planned a few times to try the food and booked for Mother's day. I really liked that you could choose either a set menu or specials. All our food was delicious, hot and good portions. My mum was so impressed with her lamb and the amount she got. Am so pleased they had great vegan options too. The staff were really helpful and we had a great view over the bay from upstairs. There was even a log fire burning and live music when we went back downstairs. There is a huge outdoor area too, which must be perfect in the summer. If you want a lovely country pub, with great food, friendly staff, built on a cliff, facing out over uninterrupted sea views, then you've found it 😊

Went here today with my family for a roast dinner and loved it. Beef, Chicken and Nut Roasts were huge, 4/5 roast potatoes each, lots of meat, gravy and veg. Pudding was delicious, would recommend the pavlova to anyone. Staff were very attentive and the food was very reasonably priced. Can’t comment on the other reviews however our experience today was excellent and we will be coming back soon!

One of my locals with outstanding views, nice selection of beers/wines, excellent service and tasty food. Every time I have visitors we stop here. Last visit November 2023 midweek. Helpful staff, slow service, food variable and views still fab. Dropped slightly on the quality of the food but I have hope for the new team.

Tried to buy a glass of red wine in this pub. I was informed that they do not serve Red Rioja by the glass unless there is a bottle already open. so if I wanted a glass of Red Rioja I would have to order another bottle. Suffice to say I would go the pub next door, The Sir Stanley where there is no quibble about ordering a glass of wine. Poor customer service this evening and I will not be using this pub again.

Went with a friend for lunch, i had heard a few stories that the food wasnt as good since it changed owners but thought I would give benefit of dout as maybe teething problems..she had the ploughman's sandwich, the bread was hard and stale. I had the mushrooms on soughdough, the mushrooms were hard and dried out. My friend did say to the waitress she didn't eat it all as the bread was stale, she said sorry about that. Since I got home 2 hours ago I have had a terrible upset stomach. It used to be a great place to eat. Won't be going again and won't be recommending to my friends and family.

One of the worst meals ever! Cutting into raw meatballs, what kind of a chef serves up undercooked meat? Grey creamed potato’s and tough pastry crust making up 90% of the pie my husband was served, covered in congealed sauce. By the time my meal had been replaced, a full 15 minutes later! my husband had finished his meal. Altogether disappointing, unappetising, and potentially dangerous.

We were staying in the hotel just down the road and we thought it would be lovely to pop in and grab a couple of cocktails and have a catch up with friends for an hour or so. Started off asking for the cocktail menu, off they went to find one…. There were a few tables to the right as we came in and asked the bar staff if we could sit there….. we were left standing whilst they chatted at the end of the bar, menu arrived and as no one had said anything to us for a good few minutes and we were just standing there, we popped through to where there were 3 or 4 empty tables. Before we could sit down the bar person came over and said we couldn’t go there as they were still checking if the tables were booked.. about five minutes have gone by at this point…. We moved back to the bar, no interaction at all from the staff, we started to feel unwelcome so we said we are moving on, popped the menu down and walked out. Next thing we know is a male member of staff comes out the door calling down the road saying we have taken the menu!! Not the case, we explained we wouldn’t do that and carried on… no apology from him at all, either for the shocking service or the accusation that he had made towards us. Appalling service here, not welcoming and missed out on some easy money…. We were going to go there in the Sunday as it looked lovely but went elsewhere due to the poor service.

First time here, loved it. Food was fantastic, I had the sausages with new potatoes and veg in red wine gravy, I will be going back for sure!

I wasn’t going to review this place as it was the first time we went and we like to give the benefit of the doubt but with recent events and news articles it’s clearly an ongoing issue We paid a lot of money for our roasts and they were terrible, when we informed the restaurant we was shut down and told everyone else likes it We wouldn’t go again

Poor food and service, Sunday roast probably the worst I have ever had.

Went in on Sunday, hadn't booked and a lovely lady squeezed us in! The food was delicious. We had squid and panko prawns to share to start ( 2 starters) and then haddock and chips x 2 and the mussels! Really tasty food! Great friendly service, and we thought very reasonably priced. For the 3 of us with a pint of beer, pint of cider and a mulled wine, it came to £87.

Had a lovely homemade pie here from the new lunch menu. Delicious and you could really tell it was freshly made.

I attended a wake following a funeral and the staff I Belle Vue Tavern couldn't have been more attentive. Will definitely go back for a meal in better circumstances.

My partner and I just got back and not impressed is an understatement. We both had the beef Sunday roast, could not be simpler, the thing that impressed me most was the beef, how they sliced two small slices of beef that thin to be able to call it a portion is beyond me! Three small roast spuds cold and a parsnip all cold in the middle was served with a cold Yorkshire pudding, a few minutes later followed with the smallest portion of veg to share i have ever seen. 7 green beans, a soup spoon of orange mash and a soup spoon of red cabbage and apple. The veg was warm as it had been in the microwave, and all for the small sum of £18 !! Check the picture out, I had more beef in the picture because my partner wanted to equal what was plated. A very underwhelming, expensive meal. I would give it no stars if it were an option. The pub, staff, ambience of the pub is nice and welcoming , and view from the garden is picturesque on the plus, but if I was honest I would rather eat in the toby carvery ( which I detest) than eat here!.

Lovely little pub overlooking the sea. Would be great in the summer. The only thing I found a bit strange was that they closed at 9.30pm, may be just a one off.

We came to visit Belle tavern on Sunday the 24th September for my mother's birthday. We came for weekend away to visit the coastal places in the area. Sadly 3 of us became unwell after having the beef Roast dinners. My poor mum. The other guests had pork & they were fine. They weren't overall impressed. I did not eat all my beef/dinner so I gave some beef to my dog & she was poorly aswell. Wish I hadn't!! The cuts of beef looked awful very chewy, rubbery & undercooked. Should be lovely, fresh, lean , tender & cooked properly. Not very appetising at all. The vegetables didn't look great either. Overall luke warm. We will not be returning when we come to visit Ramsgate again in near future We're from Suffolk. Hope no one else gets poorly from eating at this restaurant. Head office sent me a voucher via email to cover the 3 meals. I highly doubt we will be using them to eat food in any of their restaurants for sure.

We visited this restaurant for a roast dinner. ( weekend break) We come from Suffolk. 3 of us was ill from eating the Beef roast dinners The beef was very chewy undercooked & looked horrible. Not very appetising at all. You'd expect to get lovely cooked tender lean cuts of good quality meat. Not from this place. Quite shocking they serve that up for us. Had lovely cuts of beef over the years in many places to eat. The Vegetables in the serving bowls to share was pretty awful too & small portions. Meal wasn't hot. 1 parsnip & 3 roast potatoes on a adult meal plate. I couldn't eat it I shared a bit of my left over beef to my dog & she was sick. Wish I hadn't given it to her. Will we be visiting again? That's a big No!! Hope this doesn't happen in future for other customers who visit. Head office has given me a voucher in total for the 3 roast dinners. Not a refund. Will we use the vouchers in their other restaurants? I highly doubt it Its put me right off.

Service was polite enough, had a couple of club sandwiches which were okay. Chicken looked a little pink for my liking. Chips were pretty good. Liked that the sauce bottles were labelled to monitor their date of use. Toilets were fine. My daughter had the burger and fries and when I tried a bit at the end of our meal I could see why she’d only taken one bite. It was literally like a biscuit. I can only imagine it had dried out a lot before it was then over cooked. I was quite upset for her, it really peeves me that less love is given to children’s meals. Couldn’t be bothered to go through the awkwardness of complaining or being offered a replacement when we’d otherwise finished. Don’t think I’d go back or really recommend.
