The Bell Hungry Horse in South Oxfordshire

We wanted to book for our daughters birthday but had left if late on a busy Friday night. The team were very accommodating and made space for us. There was a nice atmosphere and nice live music (which is perfect, not too loud). The food and service we had was excellent, 8 of us ate starters, main and pudding and it was really reasonable price wise. I would highly recommend but suggest booking as it gets quite busy. We will be back. The staff and food were excellent.

Lovely staff and food, great local pub, fantastic for families and dog owners 🫶 it has a massive beer garden and car park to match, plus disabled parking. Richard and Dominika are a credit to the team!

I come in 5/7 days a week. The staff are all so lovely and attentive. Court and Ash look after me so well and make sure i’m always happy! Highly recommend!

We booked a table on Thursday lunchtime for a small walking group from Marcham. We were warmly welcomed and the food that we ordered was tasty, good valued and was quickly served. There were other customers but as the bars are spacious there seemed plenty of room - ideal for a group. The Bell is perfectly situated for walks round Wallingford, along the River Thames or longer expeditions into the Chilterns. As the car park is quite large, the pub was happy for us to leave our cars while we went off walking. They were open for refreshments on our return too.

A friend invited me for lunch at the Bell, Large portions, tasty food and an amazing team! We could not ask for anything better! Our waitress was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble she was everywhere doing everything and she did it all with a big smile on her face. Hardly ever we see someone working in the pub and actually loving it! We all were really impressed with her skills, I believe she was Eastern European can't remember her name but I hope she will keep up the great job ! We will definitely be back.

As always, immaculately clean, great atomosphere and the food and drink was delicious. Great place to catch up with a friend or to bring the family.

The Landlord is really friendly, organised and on his game. Food was really decent and staff couldn’t do enough for us. A good evening

We have eaten twice this week Tuesday with 5 grandchildren and today with my daughter and granddaughter and both times had a very nice meal manager very friendly and great service will definitely be back again we’ll done seems too have improved since new manager has taken over but as only took over at weekend early days but such an improvement this week already

Came here on a busy Tuesday with my fiance, for some lunch fantastic food again and great service. The lady behind the bar was a real help and the gluten free menu was superb.

Came to the Bell, with all this lovely febuary weather. What a pleasant surprise, plenty of outside tables, great value on the entire range of drinks, #pleasantly surprised. Cheapest pub in Wallingford by a mile.

Was just blown away by how friendly the staff are and that nothing is too much for them. Good little outdoor play ground to keep the kids happy and with the feed the family for £15 deal you can't go wrong (thank you chloe for pointing that out for me the kids loved there ice cream) will definitely be returning

I took my girlfriend out for Sunday lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by the price and quality of the food and the chap behind called Ben recommend the vilot fizz as I was wanted a glass of prosecco for my partner and witch was a perfect idea as it got me some browie points and I will definitely be returning soon. To take my mum out for her birthday meal thank you for such a great experience

Was very pleased today with the friendly and welcoming staff. However we had a problem with one of our meals but it was a small error and in a busy environment it happens but Owen sorted it effectively and quickly with a great smile, and a very kind apology whilst working his socks off.

What more can you ask for then free WiFi and a good cup of tea! Thank you chloe and Carl for helping me get set up

Food was amazing. Service was also amazing and our waitor cain was fun and friendly with us all and I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family for dinner.

I came in yesterday for a late lunch and staff were so friendly and helpful. Thomas was helpful and let it us Know it was order at the bar and Ellie and Andrea did an amazing job with the food. The manager Kieran was amazing, especially with my little one and thank you Carl and chloe for being great hosts to us. Will recommend to my family and friends.

I visited with my family and the bar maid named Zia was absolutely amazing so helpful and such a lovely person. Would definitely recommend.

Just got back from a meal here. 5 of us out of 8 had steak, regardless of how you like it cooked you get it well done, chips over cooked. Service was slow. How hungry horse let this pub remain part of their chain us beyond me? Would never visit again. There is a macdonalds 3 miles up the road-go there
