Still waiting even if you think you have delivered it

Waited an hour and half for food to arrive, it never did, no one answers the phone either. This is the second time this app has been absolute rubbish and food has just not arrived.

The food was good but only luke warm,

Delivery time is 20-35, we waited 1hr50 minutes!! For a chip shop that’s 10 minutes away is shocking. Wasn’t even worth the wait, fish had either been sat a while or overcooked, the cod was hard, it was awful awful. Tried ringing to ask to collect the order, phones off, couldn’t even cancel the order as we no longer wanted it. The whole experience was terrible would never order from there again!

Waited over an hr for delivery when placed the order , food came missing part of my order (double cheeseburger) emailed about this then told looking into it because I asked for a refund as by time id of been given a replacement it would of arrived cold and I already had my chips , so far not heard anything about a refund so basically paid £6 odd for a burger I never recieved, I’m actually get fed up of items missing out my delivery nearly everytime I order food ,

it was slightly warm by the time I received the order and I had paid for 2 2 leter bottles of Coca-Cola and I had received 2 1.5 leter bottles of Pepsi, I had ordered 2 leter bottles as that is what I was wanting but instead I got 0.5 leter less that what I had paid for

It was two hours late! And I had a bone in my chicken wrap! No chips came with the fish that we did order as a meal but was told we hadn’t! And not been charged for it! Wont be ordering off then again! We should get half of our money back it’s a joke

Disappointed with the time it took to deliver our order, there was no communication or explanation for the delay and there was no answer when I called several times. An hour and 25 minutes for delivery of a small order on a Thursday evening isn’t really acceptable, especially with no explanation. I requested some money back and would have been happy with a small gesture of good will, however the request has been refused which again is disappointing. We won’t be ordering from here again.

Chips were a mixture of overcooked and undercooked also I detected they use low grade cooking oil which is not typical of a chip shop to use especially in the North. Battered sausage was greasy and soft (undercooked with low grade oil) Kebab meat is a 4 out of 10 and chicken meat is a 3 out of 10. Curry sauce was watered down too when it’s supposed to be thick. For what they charge it’s not worth trying this place at all I highly recommend people go elsewhere for their evening meals

We had a small fish and chips each at 5.30pm this evening costing nearly £20. This was the worst fish and chips we have ever had and a total waste of money. The fish had obviously been there for a while and the batter was soggy in the middle and overcooked and hard at the edges. The chips weren’t much better. Both meals were cold and had to be reheated when we got home, literally 5 mins from the fish shop. Such a shame as it could be a great fish and chips shop and more or less has a monopoly in Wallingford. My recommendation is to go to the van that goes around Wallingford on Wednesday evenings and ends up at the cross Keys. Far superior.

Normally the service and food is very good and being a Friday night I was expecting a delay as there was a high volume of orders on. I’m not faulting the staff or delivery driver who were working as I understand Friday night is an especially heavy shift to work. However, the food arrived lukewarm and the batter on the sausages was soggy when unwrapped and the burger I ordered was missing. My advice would be to collect any orders made on Just Eat instead of getting delivery during peak times

Food was very cold. Items were missing from the order and the restaurant wouldn’t send the items as they were ‘too busy’. Half the family went hungry.

2 hours to long and I ordered two large cod and chips I don’t know what has gone wrong this place it was amazing but alas not for fish and chips no more if you want fish and chips it has to be Churchills there a bit more expensive but the wait is not two hours the food is piping hot not luke warm and a large cod and chips is a large cod and chips my chips were a cone portion and the fish wasn’t even a medium it was a small the mushy peas were like water I will use this place as a kebab house now

Twice in a row I’ve had issues with this restaurant. The first time the food was 2 hours late and tonight we are still waiting at 22:10 for food that was ordered at 18:20. Shame because the food is nice but if you are unable to go into the shop I wouldn’t advice ordering a delivery

Food arrived cold, almost 3 hours after ordering. Inedible and went straight in the bin. Would definitely NOT order again.

Collection order was ready exactly on time. Really good fish and chips for 8 people. All cooked perfectly.

I placed my order at 19:15 ready for when the children came home from their sports club. It stated that deliver was between 20 and 35 minutes. I was given an estimated delivery time of between 20:15 and 20:35 which was later than expected but it wasn’t too bad. However the food was extremely late and finally arrived at 21:45

Good quality as expected from Smarts. The cheesy chips were particularly popular as was the burger.

Ordered from the wrong chippy, food turned up, but one of the packs of chips looked liked they had been opened. Were slightly late but no worries.

Kidlington chippy brilliant however for Wallingford my mate waited 2 whole hours for my food . Livid

Over 2hrs to deliver on a Monday night 5 miles away for 3 meals. Never again, don’t bother….they are apparently queuing out the door hence the delay but managed to deliver within 20mins of hitting the “not delivered button”. Food was warm at least?

Delivery is a little slower but n a Friday but I always expect that with weekends. It arrived within the time frame they gave me and and the driver was very pleasant. The food was delicious. By far my favourite chippy and my daughter agrees 😊

Absolutely outrageous service tonight 30/07/24 Order placed at 19.09 told 70 minutes turns out I drive there 2 hours later and they have only just put it in a bag to deliver it out Phone line was set to voicemail so couldn't even comtact for an eta Then told I'm a lier by the staff as to how long they told me it would be !!!!!

Overall not a very good experience with smarts this evening, we ordered our food at 7:45 and turned up at 9:05 even tho it said it would be delivered at 8:15 and was barely warm. I ordered a wrap with no salad and it had everything in and my partner ordered cheesy chips which had two bits of fake burger cheesy chucked on top. They are normal brilliant but this has let them down massively

I have got from here a few times in the past and has been lush. Misses brought tonight for are daughters Birthday and was the worst thing I have ever had. The food was cold, undercooked and felt like leftover from yesterday. Will think twice about going there again. 1 star this time is more than it's worth.

Turned up and it was cold, excuse was just busy

Where do I start.. Food was was hot but that's as good as it gets. Over charged for one and had to double check to get a refund. So be sure to check the receipt!! Then when home to find the food was full of grease dripping out of the kebabs. Large Chips (£5.20) were over cooked and again dripping with grease and the so called large was near enough the same size as the small portion it hardly fed 2 of us..

I rarely throw food away, but tonight, I didn't eat much. The fish was stale. Chips rubbish. On the plus side, mushy peas weren't awful

the food was cold when I had gotten to have it and the curry sauce, steak and kidney pie and the sausages felt like someone's stuck them into a freezer to make them cold, I am not happy as I had spent £21.60 on this to be warm or a little hot but instead I had got it stone cold and to be honest it also have me and my partner really bad stomachs,

Absolutely awful fish and chips. The batter was raw inside and not edible. There was more batter than fish. The chips were dry and hard. Don’t waste your money, go elsewhere as we will do in future. It’s a shame because this use to serve lovely fish and chips. However, I believe the shop has changed hands.

The fish and chips were satisfactory. However, the mixed kebab didn't offer good value for the money, consisting only few bits of meat. The staff and atmosphere were excellent.

Ordered just after 7 with a delivery time between 7.45-8.05 that came and went multiple times trying to ring the restaurant no answer. Finally after asking just eat to get in contact was revised to 8.50 currently 9.05pm no food. And next to no contact Absolutely not happy

Our food arrived 20 mins late (1 hr, 45 mins after order). Food was luke warm and failed to deliver a second pie and Dr Pepper drink. Poor all round really.

I ordered two of the same items for my kids but with different salad options as one of my children can stand onions and wanted no salad , both came with onions on now I have food for me my partner and one of our kids and now have to find my son dinner

Delivery was a little late but completely understandable due to all the flooding in area. Food was lovely and still warm. Delivery driver was very polite.

Took almost 2 hours to arrive for what was a relatively small order. The food itself was really good once reheated, so it's a shame the service can't match the quality. Maybe best to head to the shop directly rather than attempt getting it delivered! Shame.

they are really good at making kebabs, probably better than the local kebab shops in wallingford, no disrespect to the others of course 🙏

I did not receive my order. I sat here patiently waiting ...as soon as it hit 18:45pm the sign popped up enjoy your meal. This is out rageous. Just Eat just takes orders and takes money...no food! I am not a happy person right now. This is stressful. I have medical disability and stress causes me pain onsets. No thanks to Just Eat Service. I am disappointed with Smart Fish and Chips severely. I feel the drives need to be fined when they don't deliver! Charline Cooper

Delicious mixed kebabs and chicken and sausage.

£12 for cod that had obviously been sat in the heating tray for some time. The cod was really very greasy and the chips were incredibly dry like they'd been sat for a while. Go somewhere else if you can.

The phone number is wrong on just eat. They didn't let us know it would be late we had to chase it, they hadn't made it till we rang when it was 50 minutes late. The food was average, get the kitchen roll on standby to dab the grease up. The burgers are particularly disappointing. The battered mars bar is tasty but that's a battered mars bar. Apparently they had been super busy on a Tuesday night? The driver didn't even apologise for the delay. Use Churchills instead if you can, much better food.

First and last time ordering delivery. Buying food in shop before has been good and had high hopes for an order that was quickly dashed delay after delay came in. When food finally arrived after them ignoring calls all evening (and don’t try the one in just eat, it’s a dead line) - It was cold. It was chewy. It was disappointing. Along with that, missing the curry sauce ordered as well. Deliveries were clearly just last of the evening food where they just did them all at once with whatever was left

Food was freezing cold, chicken wrap chicken was rock solid and over cooked, burger you pretty much had to build yourself, no flavour and chicken burger was overcooked also, not to mention they was also late & forgot my drink. AVOID!

Ordered for delivery, said 55 minutes. Was nearly 2 hrs! Food was cold, and onions rings had gone soggy! Never again!

The overall quality was good but the hot dog was missing onions, ketchup and mustard as advertised so borderline inedible/bland. Service was good.

Kebab had mayo and no chilli, bought the garlic mayo to go with the chilli, wasn't needed as they messed up the sauce anyway

Great people running the shop, always have a bit of a laugh while collecting my food. The food is exactly what I expect and always hot.

Somewhat a shame their service is poor. The food is a bit hit and miss too. Had a small cod and chips, lots of over cooked small scraps in the chips and the cod was half the size of the batter it came in which was a shame. Be aware, If you order online, the last 2 out of 3 orders we made were not delivered and on the last occasion I had to drive there and ask where my food was after waiting more than 2hours. Eventually they realised their mistake but not before a few heated exchanges which proved we were right. They did refund us 50% of the order without asking which was a good offer on their part. We were not looking for compensation, just a good meal after a bereavement in the family as nobody felt like cooking. Let's hope lessons have been learned and next time is better.

Meal was 30 ,mins late heated up again in oven.if delivered on time I would of rated food higher dispute that I enjoyed the cheese burger generous filling.but reheated chips not nice.sorry smarts.

Food was tasty but Luke warm by the time it arrived - which was 2 and a half hours after I ordered it. If you’re able to collect it might be worth it, but when an advertised 25-35 mins delivery ends up being 150 mins… I’d suggest going somewhere else

A very easy process from ordering to delivery. The delivery was late, however I live in a very awkward place to find and the food was still piping hot. A big thumbs up from me.

I have ordered my food at 17:07 and after being told my food was due between 18:20 and 18:40 it is now 19:13 and my food is yet to be delivered to my home, but the app is saying my food has been delivered. Despite calling the restaurant numerous times there has been no answer and no solution to this issue

Delivery was an hour in a bit late. Couldn't even get a hold of the restaurant when I tried calling. Only text I got was saying that they do apologise but that's going to be delay on my order and then it turn around and said that my food had been delivered when it hadn't been

This was our second delivery, the first on was absolutely beautiful, tonight there was so much grease the food was all stuck to the paper and the chips were roar!

Delivery driver was so polite and i will be ordering again in the future
