Even though we only live a couple of miles from here, we've never been before but thought we'd try Sunday lunch. It was absolutely delicious! I had the roast beef and my wife the lamb and both were exceptional. The staff were lovely and attentive without being too pushy and were not rushed to leave our table after well over 2 hours. We'll definitely be going back.

Fabulous village pub …lovely friendly staff and just amazing food…. Sunday lunch was a real treat , and we try to go to all the fine dining evenings… Kerry is a ray of sunshine and looks after us so well. A great mix of pub, village gatherings and fabulous food.

My friend & I & my Springer spaniel went & ate dinner in this gem of a pub. There is a good selection of ales, lagers & ciders, The food was sensational I had garlic mushrooms to start, followed by the Luxury Fish Pie which was just that & more finishing off with Toffee Apple Crumble. My friend had Mozerella sticks followed by Cumberland sausage & mash & the same pudding. There was even a sausage for the dog. Massive compliments to the chef he definitively needs to be held on to. I have to say the barmaid/waitress is a real asset to you too she was friendly & nothing was too much trouble. My friend & I thoroughly enjoyed our time tonight & will definately be returning. Thanks for a lovely meal & a warm welcome. 100% dog friendly

We have been visiting the College Oak since it was built. Inbuilt. In fact, I can actually remember it being built. During this period of time, the staff generally provide very good service, and they’ve always been as helpful as possible. As time has passed, my mobility has become very reduced, and I cannot carry a beer and walk with crutches. Even with one crutch, I can’t carry a glass to the table without spilling a lot of it. Until now, the staff I’ve always been very helpful and have brought some drinks to the table. Nothing was too much trouble in any shape or form. We visited for lunch Cheltenham races were on. The pub was quite crowded, which was nice to see. My wife went to the bar, ordered some drinks, set up a tab, and brought our drinks back. A short time later a waiter passed our table, I asked if he would bring me a pint of Strongbow. He replied that they don’t do table service, especially when the other guests at the bar are waiting to be served! Shortly after that, the female waiter passed, and I said, “Is it true that you don’t bring drinks to the table?” She replied, “ We’ve never done terrible service here. I’ve worked here for four weeks, and we never have. I was also told that if I want table service, I have to order the drinks through the app, and they will bring them to me. I’ve never been as disputed in my life. On the door at the premises, the landlord was asking for reviews, so I am happy to oblige!!!!!! Rather than just posting this, I thought I would telephone the landlord. When I called, I got a voicemail. I left a message asking the landlord to phone me. We had a desert, the custard was cold…………… Come back Ed and Carole, you are badly missed.

Found out this pub had live sports and as England were playing Finland ...needed a pub to watch it in. Decided on Henry V1...phoned them and asked if I could reserve a table...drinks only....absolutely no probs. When we arrived..we were so delighted we had the front of the pub reserved with what turned out in the end ...a private area and TV. Many thanks to the friendly staff

Best Sunday Roast for miles! What a fabulous roast we all had at the Crown - couldn’t fault a thing. The meat (we had the lamb, pork and beef) was perfect - succulent and thinly sliced, and a lovely selection of vegetables both on the plate and to share. The option of a smaller portion at a very good price (which I think only lost one roast potato and slightly less meat) was really welcome as then we had room for puddings which were just delicious! We will be back!
