The Sunday roast beef dinner was delicious and the gravy exceptional. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere was amiable and pleasant. Very good value and well worth going for.

Honey and lime salmon Supreme was the best salmon I've ever had. Pork belly also fantastic. Great wait staff, reasonable prices (entrees about 12-24). Only complaint: coffee is not hot and not particularly good. But overall, a 5-star experience in a neighborhood pub.

We came here on a whim as we hadn't been for a while. The welcome, service and food were all superb. I had the nasi goreng, my wife had the salmon - both dishes were tasty and hot and served with a smile! All staff seem to really care about the pub and its customers. We.will be back.

Very pleasant experience. Easy free parking, great service and tasty pub food. Some pubs provide more elaborate menus but the service is not as good as this.

Visited one evening, and really enjoyed the selection from the menu… across the 5 of us, all the food looked and tasted great. Parents had been to the place for a few months, and there was a change of ownership around March, apparently, so ignore the older bad reviews. Note, it is a reduced menu at lunchtime. However, a pub that does a food well…. Rather than a chain with an excessive production line menu

Enjoyed a friendly welcome from the team, with engaging chat at the bar and prompt service. Burattas is under new management: it was nice to see regulars being welcomed as usual and to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere on a midweek evening with diners finishing drinks after meals as well as people having a drink. Looking forward to seeing what comes next as the new owner develops the setting and menu - he is clearly passionate about the pub's success and keen to remain at the heart of the community while attracting new guests too.

This was our 2nd visit to.this establishment and I had my reservations but got convinced to give them the benefit of doubt. Nope. Very discriminatory treatment. My melanated sisters, please avoid this place at all costs. If you know you know. If you're not a regular, the confused defeated looking staff will ignore you. They got my order wrong, then they rushed to make my correct order and I had to ask my family to eat while I waited for my meal . I was served a molten hot crunchy undercooked rice, dry rubbery chicken in a nasty salty sauce lacking any depth of flavour. It was inedible. Not a single apology, not one person asked any of us if our meal was ok. I would have told them and requested some crusty bread to eat. They knew and they decided we were not worth the bother. The unhappy looking wait staff came to collect the plates and my meal was barely touched, she did not even mention it, at this point I had lost my appetite and wanted to leave, my husband had to speak up that the meal was inedible. That's the only time she looked at us, and flippantly said, "will remove this from your bill" That's it. They treated me like I was invisible, I shall never darken their door again. I've lived in this area for 7 years and I have never had such an experience in the area. I should have trusted my gut about not wanting to go to this place in all this time.

After moving to twyford recently and enjoying being in this establishment with my wife every weekend for dinner the past 2 months, this is a really disappointing post. I called in to have a quick drink on a Friday after work and when I politely asked to swap a beer after tasting (clearly vinegar or detergent was still on the glass). The man who I’ve met on several occasions while spending my money, told me it’s been served several times today and if I don’t like it to have something else, but there’s nothing wrong with it. I asked him to simply taste it and he said he didn’t care. While he poured me a glass of wine I said (trying to be nice) it must be something on the glass not worry and again he emotionally reacted. Before giving the glass I told him to leave it and said I was shocked he treats any customer like this, let alone some in here every week. He said nothing so I left and my wife and I (plus dog) will never be back again. A shame as we really enjoyed it here, but a lack of manners like that is worse than a horrible meal - a horrible experience.

We had dinner as a group of seven on a Saturday evening. From booking through to our desserts, it was great. As we were in a group, they put us in a room by ourselves, which was nice. The food, as ever was tasty and the portions filling. The bill was reasonable and the service was excellent. It’s nice to support local places like this but they make it easy by being so good.

We live in Twyford but have only been here a few times. I have multiple food (Dairy, Wheat, Soya, potato) allergies so eating out is very difficult for me. This is a gem of a Pub! Nice and big garden, the staff is amazing and very attentive and the food is just delicious! I had a choice of several dishes from the menu which is very rare and I ended up with the salmon and had a sauce specially prepared for me by the chef. The food was delicious and a big portion too. We will come here more often as I have multiple meals to chose from and they are delicious. Highly recommend this place.

I took my wife for a surprise dinner out and we had a lovely time. The food was great and the venue is very romantic. I had a lamb shoulder which was enormous and extremely tasty. The only downside was the slightly underwhelming mushroom soup. If this had more going on this place would've had 5*.

We recently held a family party at Burattas's to celebrate our Golden Wedding and it really came up trumps (despite the blocked toilets previously mentioned!) . We were 19 adults and 8 young children. the latter were given an excellent "childrens' meal" and were able to enjoy the play equipment and ducks and chickens in the garden. The adults had a fork buffet with a choice of 4/5 fairly traditional dishes (eg fish pie, lamb and apricot, risotto) and a nice dessert. Wines were good and fairly priced, and the Twyford Tipple (local brew from across the road) went down a treat. Thanks to Stefano and his staff for making our day. Afraid we did not buy any antiques!

Quirky interior complete with antiques shop, not exactly romantic but interesting. Service was friendly but not that attentive. We had a Charcuterie sharing platter to start which wasn't bad but my fillet steak was average at best. I really should have checked before hand but the sauce was not served on the side but smothered all over the beef, I like to use sauce very sparingly on my steak so this disappointed me. The piece of fillet was ok but not of amazing quality and more like medium rare rather than the rare I requested. The cheesecake I had for desert was quite bland. The bill was fairly reasonable. We had an enjoyable evening and overall the meal wasn't bad but with so many great restaurants out there we won't be returning anytime soon.

We used to live walking distance from the Royal Oak and we still pay it a visit from time to time. We like eating in the garden, as the kids like the animals wondering around. The inside is quite quaint and old world, which has a certain charm. There is a little antiques shoo in there with some weird and wonderful items for sale, which makes an interesting feature. The food is pretty decent (quite traditional) and the staff are all really nice people that make you feel welcome. Returning from a weekend in London, my husband chose a pub out of the Good Pub Guide 2013. All we can say is the standards must have slipped considerably. My Sunday roast was not seasoned at all, so bland it was untrue (does the chef not ever watch famous chefs cooking?) the gravy was so runny and apart from no seasoning, the food had no taste at all. My husband had chicken pie and he also said it was bland. It wasn't cheap and the place was really run down. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Had a wonderful night here on Christmas Eve. Everything was perfect, service, food and atmosphere. The place was very busy, each table was occupied and the bar area was full. I started with a well kept Twyford Tipple from the brewery the other side of the road, my wife a white wine. We sat at our table and looked at the menus and around us, we really like the interior augmented by sensitive Christmas decorations. We ordered the mozzarella and tomato salad and for me the port terrine with date and banana chutney. Both arrived swiftly and we enjoyed a well priced and very nice Malbec , at eighteen pounds note their Chilean Merlot is only fifteen, a bargain and it is a good one too. We then had our mains for me a halibut in a cream sauce with potatoes, my wife 1/2 duck with orange sauce. Both were excellent. They come with a nice selection of side vegetables. We were too full for dessert so we finished our wine and walked home. Nice to see both landlady and landlord front of house they are a charming couple and they run a lovely establishment.

However, we decided to give it a go and got a warm greeting at the bar and the menu looked good. The decor/atmosphere could have been either trendy/distressed or in need of refurbishment, depending on where you looked! The garden looked nice but was full of children so we ate inside. The food was good (steak club sandwich/fish and chips) and service friendly and pleasant. No French mustard tho'!We had arrived at 12:30 but at 1-o-clock there was a sudden influx and the bar staff found it difficult to cope but not a major issue apparently. Later they were telling people there was a 1/2hr wait for food. However, we enjoyed it here and had no complaints; just felt that it could have been better.

3 of us went here for Sunday dinner, we eat out every Sunday and as this was more expensive than we usually pay we was looking forward to great things, we were very disappointed. 2 slices of beef and 3 roast potatoes and 3 very boring veg and not much of them, the beef was nice and the gravy was tasty. We was very disappointed with the dinner and although tasty, lack of veg and not value for money put us off would I go again, probably not.

We used to visit this pub a couple of times a week whilst commuting from Bristol to London. We always ate the same thing, the beef stroganoff or chicken stroganoff as they were exceptional. The french bread and pate was also superb as were the desserts. Each time we visited we were on our way for hospital treatment in London but stopping off their made difficult trips more relaxing as there was always a warm welcome, excellent service and delicious food. Now our hospital treatment has resulted in 2 babies we do not go to that area and more, but highly recommend it and wish the owners the very best for the future.

Food is delicious and we would go there more often but it is hard to get a table as they have lots of private parties.

We went for Sunday lunch as a group of 6 including two children. The food was (as always) good and the portions were just right. The restaurant has a slightly different feel to most, partly due to the range of different tables and chairs and partly due to the range of different objects attached to the ceiling. It's always nice to support local places and when they serve beer that is brewed 300 metres away, what's not to like?A good meal in pleasant surroundings and un-hurried.

We booked late on a Tuesday evening at the end of April and were lucky enough to get a table for four. The Royal Oak is a traditional village pub frequented by locals and also houses a small curiosity shop which adds to the atmosphere. Food is traditional English and the chef cooks one of the best fillet steaks around, in fact probably the best in this area. The staff are great and it is very good value for money. Good hearty food at fair prices and highly recommended for family. Having eaten here several times I am more than happy to recommend it. There is always somewhere quiet to sit and plenty of room to accommodate large groups.

We visted burattas for a meal as I was visting freinds in the area.We turned up 20 minutes early which wasn't a problem and the fantasic staff took us straight to are table the wine menu complements the food menu. A great choice of wines and fairly priced after a few glasses of lovely Sauvignon blanc we ordered are food we all opted for the steak and what a incredible meal.I have traveled most of the uk and would find it a hard to beat the steak at burattas.Service was amazing and the restaurant was clean and very quirky read the previews review and I don't think that we are talking about the place. My freinds told me that they have been coming here for years and I don't blame them I will be returning very soon.

Went for dinner, weather was glorious so thought we'd start with drinks outside. Took over 20 mins to be served although no one else at the bar. The rooms looked cluttered and dirty. We went outside into the garden which was quite pleasant, only then to be spoilt by a woman shouting from the owners flat down to get children in the garden, she made no secret of the fact she was going out clubbing and wanted them to behave. It was like being in a playground in the middle of a housing estate. We finished our drinks and left without eating.

Although this is the first time I have reviewed this place for Trip Advisor I have written about it on many occasions for the Good Pub Guide. Since our first visit they have managed to keep a fantastic level of consistency of service and food which is very impressive. The inside of the pub is quirky and always changing but that is its attraction. The other thing we like is they are very flexible, if you would like plain mash instead of mustard mash it really is not a problem. Although it is setup for food you are always made welcome if you want to drop in just for a drink.

We visited my son and his girlfriend who live nearby, on Saturday, and had dinner at Burrata's. There is a more formal dining room at the back, but we sat by the window in the front room, enjoying the cosy fire. Perfectly judged menu - plenty of imaginative dishes, daily changing specials, and a few old favourites for the less adventurous. We had the pork special, a burger, monkfish and fish and chips and there wasn't a scrap left on any plate. The vegetables were fine, too. Cheesecake was light, the brownie delicious -and giant - and the cheeseboard came with the most delicious chutney I have tasted. I told our lovely, smiley waitress how much I liked it and asked whether it was home made. To be honest, I was hoping she would tell me the brand of the pot it came out of, so I could keep an eye out for it at the supermarket. But she came back from the kitchen to tell me it was home made, and brandishing the recipe the chef had just scribbled down for me. Fantastic! A lovely, homely restaurant with great service. Now, am off to buy a chutney pan....

Simply put, a really nice pub. Welcoming, efficient staff and a relaxing atmosphere with good food, wine and beer to boot.Living locally, we've been quite a few times for lunch both indoors and out in the garden. Yesterday we went for an early supper, receiving a welcoming hello on walking in. The menu has something for everyone from bar snacks to a la carte. There is always a board with daily specials chalked up with a good mixture of both meat and fish dishes. Service is efficient. I enjoyed crayfish salad to begin and then large plump scampi cooked in a delicate cream asparagus sauce, served with fluffy rice. Husband opted for prawn tempura and then a generous cod fillet cooked with ginger and spring onions, served with noodles. Both delicious.Cosy table for two laid with decorative cloth, candle and proper napkins (I do like good napkins!).

The Royal Oak aka Buratta's - not quite sure about the apostrophe, because I am sure the owner is not Mr Buratta! or maybe he is.....I will find out tomorrow. We have been coming here off and on for a few years now, and it never crossed my mind to write a review. Didn't think it needed one!Over the past 5 years or so, we have have family Get Togethers and Sunday Lunches , then last year, as a company, we started to come in on an ad hoc basis. If we were at our Twyford location, Buratta's is our de-facto lunch spot and it never, never fails to deliver. Even when there was a coach in the car park, a couple of months ago, the kitchen din't fail to deliver. This a well run ship with real kitchen cooked food. Whatever you order, from the menu or from the specials board will be A1, today there was veal strips , duck breast, beef stroganoff, plus a couple of others I cant remember, in additional to the pub staples. Unfortunately I have a penchant for garlic bread, and this is the place to go to for that. A half baguette, with an obscene amount of butter and chopped parsley - just the business!. Fortunately I WiFi'd to Twyford Surgery.I can recommend Buratta's for the ambience, a hotch potch of small tables which gives the atmosphere, a larger 'conservatory' and the garden in the summer. There is a genuine welcome - I see the owner in Waitrose on occasion, and the ladies are extremely pleasant. You can take any guest here, family or business and will not be let down. A definite underated gem,

Went for Sunday lunch. Great food, portions are very big. Starters are so large that sharing is a good idea. Excellently cooked and served by very nice staff. Will visit again no doubt

This is an unusual place with lots of interesting things to look at. It's almost like sitting in someone's lounge!! Tables vary in shapes and sizes. We had the steak and it's the best Fillet steak ever. Didn't need a steak knife to cut it. The pepper sauce was a great addition. Portions are generous, as a couple we shared a starter and dessert, both delicious. The menu offers a good selection. Highly recommended for lunch or evening, great wine choices as well. There were 8 of us and we all cleared our plates!!

Nice place but whenever I am there at the end of the week the young girl employee with dark hair and blue eyes (not sure of her name) makes very unusual, unnecessary and inappropriate comments whilst ordering from her. For example, telling me to chug my drink in front of her. Very weird behaviour, turned me and my family away and will not be coming back. A shame since it’s a lovely place, would definitely reconsider the staff member.

This is a well maintained, clean and comfortable accommodation with nicely decorated rooms, great staff, and beautiful flowers outside. I would note that the lighting in the room and bathroom is fairly low and the only outlet in the bathroom is for an electric razor. Also, the bathtub is on the higher side with no grab bars which can be a challenge for those of us who are getting older. There could be more area for storage in the bathroom for personal products. We would definitely recommend this motel and stay there again. There were several options for breakfast and it was delicious and the service was fantastic!
