I went here for dinner for a work social. The food was absolutely amazing, probably the best steak and steak sauce I’ve ever had. One of my colleagues has the pork belly and let me try some - absolutely delicious, it literally melted in my mouth. Beautiful restaurant, great food and friendly service. Absolutely recommend!

Wow - what a great pub! This was our first ever visit after driving passed a million times - it was brilliant - the food was exceptional - thanks to the chef Robbie - who came out especially to see how our anniversary meal was - all of the staff were really helpful with a good range of beers and wines on offer. Will certainly be back. Thanks team Little Angel

Went for Sunday lunch with friends at 1pm a really lacklustre experience. Not busy at all which should have been the first warning sign. Very average food and service at high prices for a Sunday roast so will not be returning. The whole restaurant was absolutely freezing and not very welcoming. Really disappointed as had read reviews which made it sound really fantastic.

We ate here on Sunday 15th, drifting in at about 12:15. They were booked 'solid', but easily fitted us in as we were so early. Let's get the negatives over with first. From the outside, the pub looked like a small, dingy traditional English Victorian ale house. I would suggest that the windows could do with a good clean; they are pretty filthy. We weren't even sure the place was open. I would also concur that the music is on the noisy side. Granted, there were few customers in at the time we ate. The music volume might seem less intrusive with the place packed. Finally, I would suggest that the owners make it clear on the outside menus that the Sunday menu is different to the usual menu. Or simply put the Sunday menu on the outside. Now to the positives. This pub is like the Tardis. Get inside and the whole place opens up into a very large, very spacious and reasonably airy space to dine. Tables were not too close together - we ate in the conservatory section. Toilets were clean and functional - we rate establishments on their toilet facilities. As for the food - WOW is all we can say. I had the roast chicken, whilst my old lady had the Haddock. Portion sizes were, to our minds, generous; we left the restaurant full, but could have had more e.g. pudding. Which is as it should be. The majority of portion sizes in this country are excessive. The meals came with roast potato, and a tiny assortment of vegetables. Mine came with one Yorkshire pud, one pig in blanket (over cooked - hence 4 stars), one golf ball sized sage stuffing (which was delicious). However, two side dishes were also served; as small bowl of vegetables and another of cauliflower cheese. The former were delicately cooked, soft without being over cooked. The cauliflower cheese was stunning; so full of flavour. I would suggest that the owners should make it clear what the meals came with to avoid confusion. We weren't sure what veg the mains came with, so were pleasantly surprised with what came. Flavour wise, excellent. Always difficult to accommodate all tastes. If you find the food a little lacking in taste, then add salt and pepper to taste. As for cost of food. Looking around at the other pubs and restaurants in the 'expensive' Henley on Thames, this was competitively priced. You can find cheaper, but only marginally so. The staff were polite, attentive and behaved like proper waiting staff; professional, discrete, watching how customers were eating. Of course, the place was not full while we ate. However, it was filling rapidly as we left over an hour after arriving.

Been before and it was fabulous. Just taken family for Sunday lunch and disappointed. We all had the beef that was cut as thick as steak and was tasty but too tough and hard to cut. The veg was bland. Staff were good but don’t think we’re going to return. Shame.

We came for a Sunday lunchtime which has it's own menu (wasn't listed online). Very expensive for what it is. You're paying mainly for the meat of the Sunday roast which was lovely and the roast potatoes were great, but the rest of the meal was lacking a bit. The vegetables didn't have any seasoning and was presented in the middle of the table in a bowl for 7 people. For vegetarian, they only have one choice, and being a Sunday, the only other option they could offer was basically just vegetables. When I made the booking I didn't realise it would be so limited. (Aparently the have a specific chef just for Sunday roasts).

Design, style, good food... This place has all of this, plus the canny added benefit of free parking 'this side of the often jammed bridge'. Service from everyone was great - ‘on it', responsive, energised. But on reflection, everything too felt a bit like a very well oiled machine. Receiving our 'roasts' just minutes after ordering them, certainly suggested 'efficiency' trumping anything more 'personal' & relaxed. But nothing can take away from the general quality of food and the dining environment. Outside, the Terrace appeared 'buzzy' on a bright Summer's day. £24 for pork loin + veg = reasonable value in the context of the 'positives' mentioned. £9.50 however for an embarrassingly small sized portion of Tiramisu was not on. And as others have commented, there tasted to be nothing home made about this dessert ; watery & forgettable.

Plusses + attentive, friendly service for our party of 4, we had good 'light' (good portion sized) lunches based on starters and sides from the main menu + one main from the Bar menu and drinks. Minus - music too loud throughout the pub so we ate outside and got the music switched off in our area. Very minor quibble some plates / bowls a bit small, we should have asked for plates.

Advertised as a smokehouse but no smoked flavour in the food. Had better tasting burgers (beef and veggie) for less at other places. Over £70 for 2 starters, 2 mediocre burgers and 2 drinks! The veggie burger was new on the menu and after finishing I realised that it was missing some elements so I mentioned this to the staff. Their response, 'thanks for letting us know, we will make sure it's better for the next customer'. I should have asked directly, but I would have expected that they would offer to take some money off the bill for not giving me what I paid for... I was surprised to see the place so empty on a Friday night but now I understand why!

Positives: great decor, good ambience. Friendly staff. Negatives: Underwhelmed by the food given the relatively high cost. Way too salty (especially the coleslaw). Extremely dry chicken burger. Booked a family Easter Sunday lunch for 1pm. I checked beforehand that lamb was being served. When we placed our order, around 1.20pm, they had sold out of lamb! The lovely waitress offered to ask the chef if there were any leftover pieces for us to at least taste - it seemed there were - so we had a plate of little end bits of lamb in gravy for the table with, for some reason, an extra Yorkshire pudding. We each had a couple of mouthfuls and it was gorgeous. Extra disappointing. We ordered roast beef (tough) and pork (nice). Vegetables (unlimited) and potatoes were good. Indeed the pumpkin soup starter was very good too. When the bill arrived, I queried a random entry of £5. It appears that we were charged for the little bits of lamb to taste!! Although the service we received was excellent, we shall not be returning.

We would’ve understood if it was 3pm but an hour and 20 minutes after the start of lunchtime service was a bit ridiculous. The starters were delicious, a tad over priced. They ranged between £9.50-£10. The beef was mediocre. Very very fatty and was not pink like we were told. We found it to be extremely over priced for the quality of food. As a result of The Bull in Henley having plumbing problems, we ended up here. I really enjoyed my mushroom parfait starter which was followed by lamb (very small portion) with cauliflower and a delicious sauce. It became very busy and the combination of a screaming baby, dogs barking and the high volume of chatter made the visit very unpleasant. It was impossible for us to hear what the other was saying, and it was headache making. Such a shame as the dining area is very attractive, but with stone/tile floors, no tablecloths etc. the noise is amplified

We had dinner here recently and the ambience and service was excellent - wine choices also good and parking was no problem at all. I do feel that the approach to food needs rethinking - it’s quite a small menu for such a big pub and needs more variation on the main course choices IMO. The pork was great and really well cooked but the overall dish was dry and could have done with more of a sauce and cooking the broccoli slightly longer. Burger was good but probably would have benefitted from a bit more presentation for the price! Starters were expensive and the ox cheek was quite greasy and chorizo over cooked. We’ve popped in for drinks and some bar snacks before which were great so maybe just an off day. They’ve got the all the ingredients for a fantastic restaurant just more variety would help massively

Very disappointing meal. Starter ok, but how do you get a burger wrong???? It was pretty inedible. The frangipane tart was indescript and tasted of nothing. Again, it is inedible. As we were guests, it would have been churlish to complain but won't be returning any time soon.

Charming place with very pleasant staff. The food was very good, except for the Welsh Rarebit, which was basically a piece of soggy toast with cheese on top. Excellent pulled pork, corn ribs and fish. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon in idyllic surroundings.

Great service, lovely food and a beautiful setting. Overall a wonderful pub. Alex and the team were a joy, get patient with the five kids in our party, and very friendly and attentive. We felt like it was our local even though it was the first time we've been. We'll be going back. :-)

Friendly and helpful staff. Had fish and chips which I found a bit greasy and on the small side compared to other places I've eaten. My daughter really enjoyed her burger.

Popped in without reservation booking to free car park. Lovely looking pub - we were sat in the conservatory. Excellent food and service - the free warm flavoured bread and whipped butter was lovely. We shared a starter (mushroom pate and sourdough), then had fish and chips - the hugest real chips ever - just perfect with no extraneous batter. Gorgeous. Glass of lovely house white and shandy and two coffees. All for £70-ish inc service. Result! Absolutely too stuffed for pud. Fully recommend.

We had a most wonderful lunch at the Little Angel today. The place is immaculately appointed and beautiful. The menu offers unique options for every palate. We ordered the pea and mint soup and mushroom pate as starters and all four of us gave them five stars. We all ordered the fish of the day which became a traditional fish and chips plate with the best fried fish I've ever had. Even locals we were visiting said the fish was exceptional! Great options for beers and wines by glass or bottle. We failed to make it to dessert but the offerings were super tempting! The staff is great, music fantastic, and feel is just good - a place you want to make your go-to! Wish we could go again before we head home, but it's definitely flagged the next time we are back. Be sure to get their house made mayonnaise. Frankly I wasn't expecting to be wowed, but I was. Enjoy!

We have been coming here for drinks and casual meals for 20 years, on and off. In that time it has ranged from the best run pub in Berkshire to dreadful. The current incarnation is …well…not the worst. Thats the best I can say, really. Since the latest landlord moved in there hasn’t been so much as a lick of paint and it is sorely needed, esp in the ladies loos. There doesnt seem to be much pride in the place, tables uncleared, cushions unplumped from the night before, toilet roll trailing around the loos, even just after opening. Get some decent cleaners. But my biggest gripe is, there are just NO bar snacks. Nothing whatsoever. How can you call yourself a pub, how can you sell alcohol with nothing to eat? Yes I know there is a restaurant attached but if I just want a pint or an (excellent, by the way) gin and tonic? Are we supposed to bring our own peanuts?

The food is absolutely fantastic. When was the last time you went to a restaurant that made their own mayonnaise? Little things like this make a big difference. Service is top notch. Great location. My new favourite pub by a large margin.

The food has always been amazing here, if you like Thai food, you should give this place a try. If you’re lucky like we were last time we went you may get a chance to put a team into their pub quiz. The staff are polite and attentive, plenty of parking and food it excellent.
