Everything you want in a traditional village pub. Friendly, great food and drink plus very dog friendly. The pub dog greats you on your way in and the relaxed atmosphere continues from there. Coupled with lovely food you won’t go far wrong stopping here for a drink or meal. Locals enjoy a drink by the bar and it still seems to remain a pub that is at the heart of it”s community while welcoming people from further afield. We will definitely return.

Nice pub with good ambience. Have visited before in the summer whilst walking in the area and enjoyed a very relaxing pint in the garden.. However last nights visit to catch up with old friends was spoilt by one male member of staff speaking for many minutes in a very loud voice with constant use of the f* word. I was sitting across the room by the window and his voice was loud, intrusive and impossible to ignore. I eventually went over to ask him if he could please mind his language and received a very curt and dismissive response and a further loud JC! to my back as I returned to my seat. I did not respond to that comment although I had planned to move on when my friends arrived if nothing changed. He did however moderate his volume meaning that the rest of the visit went as well as I had been expecting from a venue I had happily used before.

Sitting n the garden for a post-lockdown Sunday lunch was just the best. Tables are well spaced for social-distancing and most have some sort of covering in case the weather turns. Table service only. The burger almost defies description, double burger in glorious melted cheese. Fantastic. The Sunday menu has a choice of roasts, a small selection of pub classics and a choice of “doorstep” sandwiches. Prices fairly typical for a village pub.

Had our first (outside) meal with family at the Tally Ho as lockdown 3.0 eased but, rather than write an immediate rose-tinted review influenced by the occasion, I decided to reflect on the experience first.Having duly reflected I can say that what was a solid 4* pub/restaurant pre-Covid, has been improved during the past year and now offers a superb combination of quality food, great service and a friendly atmosphere - which makes it an ideal place to socialise with family and friends.Ryan the owner/head chef was trained by Alex Aitken (of Poussin & Jetty fame) so cooks a mean soufflé and he's been developing the Tally Ho food to genuine gastro pub standards. The menu centres on traditional pub favourites, such as burgers, fish & chips and Sunday roasts, all served with style, plus local specials - so something for all tastes.Staff were all absolutely on point and we were really well looked after from arrival to departure some 3 hours later. Just add in great beer and a decent wine list for the perfect Sunday lunch and leisurely afternoon.Tally Ho gets one of my hard earned 5 star reviews and we can't wait to return.

Offered to collect, but delivery included in the very reasonable price of £45 (including a bottle of wine!) for 3 courses including sides. The food was incredible and the heating instructions easy to follow and well thought out. Highly recommend, will be going to food after lockdown fo sure! 10/10!!

Despite living not far away, this was the first time we dined here. We received a very warm welcome from the proprietors and were shown to a nice clean table in the restaurant. All coronavirus safety procedures were very well arranged and adhered to. The menu was extensive with several interesting and tempting dishes. Our starters and main courses were wonderful. So much so that none of us had room to try the deserts. The service was efficient and very friendly and it became obvious that this lovely pub is extremely popular with the locals. Many congratulations to both the management team and the staff. We’ll certainly be back again as soon as Boris allows us to!

I visited this pub with my lovely wife and the mother-in-law on Saturday lunchtime. It's a nice little pub in a pleasant village. There's a beer garden out back but was a bit chilly even though the sun was shining so we decided to eat inside. The menu offers fairly standard pub fare plus a selection of sandwiches. They seem very proud of their cheese souffle but none of us fancied it, opting for fish & chips, scampi & chips and a fish finger sandwich. Everything was pretty good but nothing was spectacular. If I'm honest, I wasn't entirely convinced about Covid safety. Everything was fine when we arrived as it was quite empty but by the time we left there were a number of people hanging around near the bar making it hard to social distance on the way out or when heading to the loos.

We visited for Sunday Lunch after a local 6 mile walk. What a fabulous pub! Sunday Lunch was superb. A modern twist to the presentation (Long rectangular Platter style plates) but the quality of the food was excellent, and everything cooked to perfection (Every single item - including Yorkshires, Gravy / Sauce, Meat, Vegetables). We eat out regularly and from experience are slightly wary of "Sunday Roasts". However, this meal was truly special and enjoyed to the last morsel. The pub is rural and has an extremely welcoming ambience. Clearly a neighbourhood pub and frequented by locals. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. So is the pub dog!A great no nonsense Pub and really good food. Thank you.

Can only reiterate what other reviews have already said about the hospitality and sumptuous welcome you will receive from Ryan and Kerry. Our meals were fantastic (with a haute cuisine quality courtesy of Ryan's considerable expertise in French cuisine), the ale was outstanding and the soufflé really is as good as they say. Visited recently with a work colleague. Food was ok. Certainly nothing to write home about. Colleague had the prawns to start and the burger. I had the pate (they called it parfait) and the hake. Part was quite pleasant. The hake was a little soggy and the minted peas had no mint that I could taste. Colleague enjoyed the prawns and the burger was “ok”. It seemed the place was trying hard to be something it clearly wasn’t. Some of the food was served on slate and the peas were three quenelles when it just needed to be a good dollop of tasty peas!! For the price I’d go next door to the Greyhound. Slightly cheaper and sooooo much better. Tip: don’t try and be something you’re not. You’re a village pub accept that. Work on your flavours and lose the slates!!

On a very short notice weekend break and with no prior knowledge of the area our search led us to the Tally Ho! in Broughton and all there is to say is what an incredible experience it was. Amazing starters (I had the salmon parcel and superb avocado sorbet and she had the delightful cheese soufflé) were followed by brilliant mains (succulent pork for me and mouth watering chicken poussin for her) and excellent desserts followed close behind. What made the dinner into a truly lovely dining experience was the staff - they were fantastic. Friendly, helpful and a credit to themselves. We were joined at the end of our meal by a very happy and perfectly well behaved furry friend who topped off a wonderful meal with some very impressive tricks taught to him by the head chef (diligently watching on with a glass of wine and equally as friendly). Whether you're looking for really decent bar food (attempt the Broughton Big Boy only if you are very hungry!) or fine dining that defies expectation, the Tally delivers. And, we love the fact that WE are really well catered for when we don't have the children with us(!): on winter nights, it's the perfect spot for a glass of Malbec by the log-fire/perched at the bar. Drinks and food very expensive (£13.95 for a not-very-large portion of fish and chips). Did not have a very welcoming atmosphere. On the basis of this visit, not one of Hampshire’s best pubs.

Great Sunday roast - both vegetarian and meat and sublime desserts. Kery was very warm and friendly host. Very much enjoyed our visit

Went there with a group and found this pub both in ambiance and food very disappointing. Service was very good but what they had to serve was not at all interesting or worthwhile going back for.

It's been a while since I'd been to The Tally Ho! and when we first arrive on a Saturday lunchtime, they were fully booked so we decided to go for our walk and come back afterward (despite been already pretty peckish!) which was a good move. The menu is quite brief with a couple of specials, but both of us thoroughly enjoyed our well prepared and presented choices, service was friendly - we were glad we delayed lunch to try out the Tally Ho! and would be more than happy for a return visit.

This pub has an excellent chef, we have had two meals here now and both were fresh, tasty and handsomely presented. The vegetarian options are especially worth a mention. We ate in the garden with grandchildren and found the staff very welcoming to children.

Landed on a Thursday which is pizza night.Simply the best pizza I've eaten for decades. Can't eat it all? They provide a box. Ate the leftovers cold 24 hours later and it was still fab.Beer was great and good white wine. Service was quick and very friendly. Thanks Kerry (?)Only niggle was the grass needed cutting!

Went to Broughton to an Open Gardens afternoon with a friend, arrived a little early so popped into The Tally Ho! Received a very warm welcome, decided to have lunch in the lovely garden there. To drink ?? They have a great selection of gins, right up my street, so a delicious Silent Pool with fever tree tonic and roast lamb followed by apple tart, so worth popping in ! The staff were so friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. And when we went into the pub the 'locals' were extremely friendly to us, that doesn't always happen in country pubs. Lovely lovely time, treat yourself

I booked a table here for my partner and I for Sunday lunch. We decided to sit outside as the weather was fab, in their pretty garden. We opted for one roast beef and one roast lamb, the service was faultless and the food was fantastic, with the most amazing gravy!!.For the quality of the ingredients, the prices were very reasonable. As we are lucky enough to live in a neighbouring village, we will definitely be back.

Went to the Tally Sunday night to see local band Uncle Tom Cobleys who were excellent as usual. Great atmosphere and very busy, we had the chilli and nachos to eat which was good and reasonably priced but as for the price of a Guinness £5.25 a pint. I know you expect to pay a bit more for food and drink in a country pub but that is ridiculous and the most expensive Guinness I've bought especially after finding out later in the evening from a couple of locals that they only pay £4.20 a pint. Definitely won't be going back there in a hurry after feeling ripped off with the two tier pricing they seem to have for locals and outsiders.

I have just taken 10 fellow walkers to this pub and what a great service we had. Full credit to the kitchen and bar staff, they were excellent. And the food was superb. I had the vegetable roast and most of the others had the roast chicken or roast lamb. We all agreed how good the food was and left well satisfied. I highly recommended this pub if you are in the area.

Visited the Tally Ho with friends for Sunday lunch and boy we were not disappointed. The food arrived hot and freshly cooked and the sweets were to die for. Friendly staff and very helpful, just what you would want from a village pub . Don't mind paying for quality. Top job.

Nonostante si trovi in un piccolo paesino, è frequentato da molte persone. Il locale è molto ospitale e caloroso, ci si sente subito a proprio agio. Sono stato qui due settimane e a pranzo mi recavo sempre qui. Ottima cucina e personale molto friendly e simpatico. E poi il cane, bellissimo. Abitassi qui sarei sicuramente un cliente affezionato. Ciao Tally ho, a presto

We have just returned from a lunch at the Tally Ho in Broughton which was stunningly good in every respect. Our walking group numbered 13 and having pre-ordered we returned to find our table already laid and smiling people behind the bar ready to take our drinks orders. The pub was quite busy but the service we received was exemplary and the food excellent. About half our group had soufflé and without exception were highly complementary about the dish. We would thoroughly recommend this pub which proved to be exceptional in every respect. If we could award more than 5 for each rating we would. GS

Our plan for lunch was a little last minute so we didn't really expect to find anywhere especially as there were 6 of us.I rang ahead and the lady I spoke to was really lovely and booked us in When we arrive I will confess the exterior did put us off, BUT we very quickly changed our minds as we entered (do not judge a book by its cover )Such a lovely cosy pub with an open fire and a gorgeous pub dog called JarvisThe food was lovely they had a NYD brunch menu on, I had eggs Benedict with ham hock and hollandaise sauce which I have never had before and it was beautiful. We will definitely be coming back to this lovely pub

Do not be fooled by the unprepossessing exterior. This is a wonderful pub, has a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. We first visited it afew weeks ago after a long dog walk for a brief drink, we were warmly welcomed by the bar staff and regulars. We thought the menu looked interesting so re-visited last night and were well rewarded with the visit. The twice baked cheese soufflé was divine as was our turkey escalope burgers with brie and cranberry - we are not going to wait long before we return to try out the rest of the menu. Highly recommended!

This is a lovely Pub!It's friendly, cosy and has really atmosphere. Kerry the Landlady is a genuine star always chatty and genuine. Ryan the other half is quite a chef who occasionally gets a bit stressed. But his food is certainly wonderful and his curry a real treat. They run many events from live bands during a Beer Festival to themed evenings which generates a real buzz in the village. We are really lucky in Broughton we have a great village shop, two pubs and Broughton Buffalo. But the Tally is a jewel !

Great Spoons. Excellent beer, food and service. The roof terrace is a good beer drinking location when not raining. The hotel is highly recommended if staying in Andover.
