I was turned away as they claimed nothing left, but happily served the person behind me just before closing time. The person like me had just arrived so CAMPBELLS REVIEW IS NOT CORRECT they need to red the review first

We had an order delivered Not up to the normal standards that we enjoy unfortunately. The scampi was way overdone, pie was tasty but soggy and the chips were limp and not crispy A real shame as we usually sing the praises of this shop and really disappointed on this occasion

Best Fish and Chips in the area, my husband and I love them. They’re our go to spot when we want a good chippy. The box usually comes with lemon and tartar sauce which is a nice touch. They also do lovely burgers. They give you this big juicy patty with lots of toppings of your choice. It’s great value for the price. The portions for the price are excellent. We usually go for the meal deal and each time they give us great portions. The guys inside running the place are super kind.

Poor delivery rules. I am recovering from major surgery and decided to have Fish and Chips however delivery minimum £16 minimum for that was out of the question.

I recommend it. I would especially like to thank the Boss Mr.Kemal and the employees for their interest.

Another visit here recently. THE best fish and chips 👍. The batter on the fish was crisp and tasty and the chips were perfectly cooked. The place is bright, clean and welcoming with very swift service. The owner is super friendly, as are the lovely people who work here. Highly recommend and as Arnie says "I'll be back" 😊.

Waited 2 and a half hours for an online order. Phoned to chase it up to be shouted at rudely by someone and had the order cancelled. Avoid like the plague!!

Cheesy chips are the best I've ever had twice in a row, very good portion size and price, they are generous too with the cheese. Veggie burger also comes with salad, cheese and sauce which is nice.

Alton Rock Choir had a summer party with fish & chip supper delivered to a venue, Janet & the team were amazing! From the first email to the delivery we had great correspondence and fantastic food. It was delivered to our venue it was hot & tasty, everyone enjoyed their meal. A huge thank you to Cambell’s fish & chips!

I need to eat Gluten free food , wehad just driven across from Hollend to South of England. We stopped in Alton were Cambells fish and chips delivered a Gluten free menu that tasted great, thank you 😊

They cancel your orders not great for the first time ordering

We’ve been coming here since they opened and have always had a fantastic fish supper. Really friendly staff and the food has always been fried to order. It’s also amazingly good value.

Very clean and friendly staff even the boss man cracks a few jokes love the food and the portion you get I was dropping customers off near by so checked the place out very welcoming atmosphere warm and everything is well packed I would definitely visit the place again keep up the good work.

Chicken wings ok, a bit heavy on the oil for our tastes. Asked for chips extra crispy but they came soft. Friendly service.

Always gone here as it’s a local right round the corner, service has always been great. The chips are banging and my stables of fish cake, savloy or battered sausage are always very good. Indulged in some haddock the other night as I was craving it, usually don’t like fish from a chippy as it’s never quite right and often very greasy. The battered haddock was out of this world! Perfect batter, light and crunchy without being greasy. The fish was moist and meaty. Presentation was outstanding from a chippy. Nice wedge of Lemmon and some tartar sauce, I will be having fish from here a lot more often.

Can't fault the fish and chips. One of the best in town. Only thing is if you like salt and vinegar don't order online for delivery as the last 3 orders have turned up without it even though have left a comment when ordering to make sure it was added.

First visit here in a good few years - I believe it’s either been renovated or possibly new owners. Appropriate portion size, crispy batter, tasty chips. Good experience using the online ordering. Will be coming back again!

Haven't been buying fish n chips for a few years because we have been so disappointed and they always repeat. (Sorry but they do). HOWEVER! We had large cod, haddock and large portion of chips tonight and they were absolutely PERFECT! Just as they used to be. Thankyou so much Campbells. P.S The tartare sauce included was even better than i have Ever had too.

Bought large cod & regular chips after a long walk with friends. Quick & friendly service. Nice chat with the owner. Shop spotlessly clean. Food very tasty. Tartare & lemon slice were a nice unexpected touch. Highly recommended.

First time we’ve used campbells and was pleasantly surprised. Just the right amount of batter on the fish and chips were tasty. No complaints about our meal, oceans eleven has lost a customer.

Visiting Alton and went to this shop. Unfortunately the fish was so greasy it was dipping out the bag. The cod looked fresh but the greasy batter over powered it. What they cooked it in had a strange smell Sadly was put off by this and shall not be returning. Pretty expensive as well The shop also gives the appearance of not looking that hygienic needs freshening up

Bought from here the last two times, we collected the first time and found the fish to be very dry, gave them the benefit, but the next time we visited and waited and it was the same dry, and not nice at all. It certainly doesn't taste fresh, not sure if they use frozen fish, whatever they use won't be going back agai

May have been an off night. Used this chippie tonight for the first time. The chicken burger was really nice and tasty. BUT the chips were awful. Not sure what they were cooked in and nearly broke my teeth on some. Martyn

Our food wasn’t cooked, that’s ok - accidents happen - We called them straight away but the owner didn’t care at all. We had to finish cooking the food at home! I’d spend your money else where.

Maybe it was an off day but didn't enjoy the cod and chips at all. Chips looked like they had been fried twice and the fish wasn't fresh. Best part of it was the batter. Chucked most of it in the bin. Ive had far better.

Previous experience was very good. This time fish was so dry and the chips were so refried most were inedible. Won't be back.

Very tasty fish and chips!! Definitely the best in Alton! My wife has never been a big fan of Fish and Chips, but having cleared the entire plateful, said how much she had enjoyed them. Will undoubtedly be returning.

The £5 meal deals are excellent, they'll even bring the food out to your car.

I’ve given this chip shop a fair go... The first time was beautiful, couldn’t fault it. We’ve been a few times since and today in particular was poor. My fish portion was tiny and the batter was very greasy and inedible, my daughter’s plain sausage was a battered one, the large chips was a tiny portion. A little disappointed to be honest, we’ll be looking elsewhere next time. Such a shame given that they haven’t been open long.

Cheesy chips are fantastic if you ask for fully melted cheese and the battered sausage is almost addictive. Honestly it's a pretty great fish and chips.

First time eating there and apart from having to wait a little as they were so busy with delivery orders it was well worth it!! Chips were bang on and not to greasy, lovely bit of batter on my fish and scampi was good too. They also do set meals for £5 that comes with a drink which are perfect size for the price!

Just moved to alton, this was our first visit. Unfortunately not a pleasant experience. The chips were bland with no flavour, the savaloys not only did the taste weird but they also left a weird taste in the mouth. Wonderful customer service just bland food.

Amazingly fast (and friendly) delivery service. Tasty fish and chips which were nicely crispy and generous, and we enjoyed the chicken, too - succulent and with a flavoursome crumb coating. All the family were happy - good stuff. :)

Ordered a takeaway online to be delivered. Super quick service, and food arrived very hot. The chicken was delicious. Customer service was so good, they returned a few minutes later to deliver a drink that was forgotten, that we hadn't even noticed was missing! Will definitely be using again.

First class fish and chips 🍟. The battered fish was first class, the batter being lovely and light with a creamy taste which complemented fish. The chips were a good size, crispy and very moreish. Very good value for money. There is a easy to use web site to order in advance or you can still use the phone. And they deliver and take cards. What more do you want 🤔. Bon appetite 😋

Finally a good and proper chippy, tastes so good you'll be hearing waves crashing in your ears. Just like a seaside chip shop but in the country, will be using again. 👍

First night open! Very busy as expected, chips were very nice, although some were a little soggy as they were squished into the box, the saveloy was a little overcooked and the chicken strips were a little dry but we did enjoy our meal there, would come again :)
