From afar, the hotel looks amazing. But as a guest, you notice quite a few issues. Mind you, these are my opinions and issues or complaints that I would fix as an owner of this property. We stayed in a room on the second floor. Though there were a few twist and turns, along with stairs and no lifts, it doesn’t make it easy to bring your luggage to the room. The hotel did not have a bell person on staff. Just the check in hostess. Our room was spacious, a nice king bed, a beautiful view, and set to where there really is no other guest traffic. The bathroom sits separately from the entrance, so you actually walk by it before you enter the room. They ask you to keep the door shut while showering, so it won’t set off the smoke alarm. But if you shut the door, it’s a chore and a little frustrating to open it back up. The towels have no place to be hung, and the shower curtain won’t keep the water from completely hitting the floor. The little coffee machine is pretty much worthless. Couldn’t get a good cup no matter how we tried. There is no bottled water in the rooms. But if you want one, you can go buy one from the bar. Breakfast was a little hectic, as there were no eggs available in the buffet line. And ordering them was more of a “nuisance” than it should be. Lunch had a great start, but fizzled quickly when we asked for ketchup for the fries. We were brought 4 little packets of ketchup. The tarter that came with the fish was amazing, but a really small amount for the size of the filet. I had asked for more when we were served the plate, so we could have it available to us throughout the meal. It never came. So I went to look for someone to get it from the kitchen. This time, I was given 3 mini packets of tarter. Ruined a good piece of fish with that packaged paste. The staff seems to be extremely busy, understaffed, and sometimes bothered by guest asking for help, or someone wanting a drink at the bar that is supposed to be open 24 hours. Overall, it’s a very nice place. Just not at the top of my list

A lovely relaxed atmosphere and nice menu looked after by Evan and the team so well. Made it a very special occasion. Menu had some nice choices for vegetarians and pescatarians. Restaurant was full on a Thursday evening and nice ambience

We booked three nights here, with family coming for the middle night. Reception staff very helpful, and I was very impressed that Adam, who I spoke to at time of booking, obviously listened to my request and allocated a bright room. This makes you feel valued as a guest! Lovely bathroom (disappointed no heating in the bathroom but the bedroom was lovely and cosy.) Bed comfy, towels and linen excellent. Lovely dining room with large windows overlooking front grounds. Nothing too much trouble. Yes, the hotel food is expensive for what it is and the belly pork wasn't tender, but this didn't spoil our stay - the steak pie was yummy, a proper pie! More choice would be welcome. The grounds are to die for! We had some lovely walks - so take appropriate footwear!! Ample parking. Couldn't fault our stay and thank you Natalie for showing us some of the other rooms for future reference. We will definitely be returning!!

We have several severe allergies in our family and carefully choose where we eat. Grace, was amazing! She really took the time and gave the care and attention when taking our order. She went out of her way to ensure my family were safe and did not take any chances. Thank you Grace and to the chef who took extra precautions and gave us a wonderful experience. :-)
