The best restaurants in South East

Lunchtime family gathering. Family all enjoyed their food, I was not keen on my pizza but really enjoyed my starter of pork belly. My wife said her steak was delicious. Portions all a good size

I’d wanted to visit this restaurant for ages as knew it had a good selection of vegan dishes. I booked only two days before, for the 6pm sitting, for my bf’s birthday. We’d had a very disappointing meal at an Italian restaurant in Hove on NY day, so I was hoping that this would make up for it! La Campania was perfect in every way; the service, the food, the ambience, everything was spot on. Everyone who spoke to us could not do enough. One of the waiters even put aside a some or the chocolate torte for me as knew I was looking forward to it and they were running out for that evening. So thoughtful! My bf had the sea bass which he said was the best he’d had anywhere. My vegan roast veggie risotto was really lovely, so many great flavours. The other thing with this restaurant is the layout. There are lots of tables, but nowhere you sit makes it feel like a busy restaurant. It feels like a small, cosy restaurant. Highly recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely return!

We have visited England several times but never on a Sunday. I've been so disappointed to miss their famous Sunday roasts. This season, we found ourselves in the Costswolds over a Sunday and I was excited to partake in this Sunday tradition. After a few internet searches, I stumbled upon an article in favor of the Chester Arms. It bragged about a long line around the block. We made a reservation months in advance. We found ourselves in the middle of an unassuming neighborhood. The restaurant was quaint and filled with locals. That being said, the best thing I can say about the restaurant is local convenience. The appetizers are middle Eastern inspired. You won't find Yorkshire pudding or any good gravies here nor any tender meat. The meat is flavorful but difficult to chew and beef is your only option. This isn't a type of place you want to go to for your Sunday roast but this may be the place you go to if you don't want to drive beyond your street.

I had a meal at this restaurant last night with a friend prior to going to The Watermill Theatre. We both had dishes from the ‘Specials’ board - my friend had sea bass with mussels and leaks and I had Sicilian chicken which was two large chicken breasts on a bed of mushrooms and potatoes with a marsala sauce. Both were lovely. We were tempted by the dessert menu and these were again great. My pistachio tiramisu was excellent. My friend remarked that even the wine ( a glass of Trebbiano) was really nice. The staff were friendly and attentive helping us with information on the dishes. They even phoned for a taxi to take us to the theatre. I have already recommended this restaurant to someone today and plan to return.

Very expensive no parking only an hour in the road outside.

Excellent food and staff made us feel welcomed. From amuse-bouche to dessert each dish was delicious and very well presented. We would recommend the Christmas menu to anyone looking for a special meal around the festive period or any other time.- comments from a Frenchman!

Pretty good food and great location. Friendly service. Nice decor. One thing noted about service, was when our drinks were delivered, the waitress handed the drinks out with her fingers holding the rim of our glasses. Was a little off putting. Other than that, we will return.

Lovely authentic Italian restaurant with a few seats inside. Best to reserve a table to ensure you get a place. Fully recommend the handmade pasta with very delicious spices and herbs. The pizza garlic bread was also amazing, and the service is also lovely.

Ordered a beer with a pork wrap. Unfortunately the chips were droopy, wrinkled and stale, looked like reheated fries. Disappointed

Went for my daughter’s birthday. Service, food and atmosphere great. We had a lovely time and they spoilt the birthday girl. Will definitely come back!

The best Turkish restaurant that I have ever been. Real authentic experience, welcoming staff. They cook the food in front of you on the grill. Everything is fresh and delicious. The vegetables are full of sunshine. Spotless clean restaurant. The atmosphere is unique and very genuine. They have numerous awards and certificates and you can see them placed around the restaurant. Definitely recommend for everyone that likes fine dining and I will be coming again and again here. Thank you for your hospitality Mezze staff and the tasty food you served us.

The restaurant menu changes on a regular basis so you just have to stop by to find out what's going on that day. You are right next to the local farmers market. The food is great and you can get some groceries done without a separate trip to the store.

Not a good welcome when ordering food. First impressions count. Fortunately made up for by serving staff who were much more pleasant.
