Fantastic bar in the heart of Cowes. Extensive drinks menu with a great choice of cocktails and always a great atmosphere. Service excellent. Best place in town for drinks!

We had some lovely cocktails in celebration of my friend’s birthday. The staff were attentive and accommodating. They even have my friend a birthday treat! Will definitely be back the next time I am on the island.

We visited for a quick drink, but stayed for food as the place seemed really nice. The cocktails were excellent, and the platters tasty and generous.

Visited whilst on holiday and we were not disappointed. Lovely relaxed atmosphere to the bar and informal, comfy seating. The food platters were superb - we had one of the meat and one of the cheese, which came combined on one platter with the various breads as well. All quality foods and great flavours - lovely with a glass or 2 of red. Would love to be staying here longer so we could return - we will do, next time we are on the island!

We couldn’t wait to take our 21year old to the compass Bar & it didn’t fail to impress again. Warm & friendly service , lovely window seat and the cocktails to die for ! Initial intention was to have two cocktails but we ended up having three. Sangria Margarita , Port Star & espresso martini . Will definitely be back

We found this bar by chance whilst wandering through Cowes looking for somewhere to eat lunch. We were attracted by the decor and the menu displayed on the window. Staff were friendly & the place had a good ambience. We were impressed with the Chacuterie & the Plant based platters that we ordered to share. The staff even checked that it was ok to put everything on the same platter. The food was fresh, well presented & very tasty. W Would definitely come here again.

We came here after visiting The Coast earlier for a meal and we were in a mood for some more cocktails. The bar is tastefully decorated with friendly staff taking orders. Only reason for not giving a 5 star review was based on the presentation of the cocktails; no wow factor e.g. only a dried piece of orange to decorate. Something to mix the cocktail would have been useful as ingredients (sugar) sank to the bottom of glass. The bar has a nice 'grazing' menu, so I might pop back to graze sometime. Worth a visit and a really good addition to Cowes. Per Ardua 96

We came for lunch and the panni’s arrive fresh and delicious. Great wine too. We later on came back for cocktails and after 4 cocktails called it night although the music and atmosphere was great. We returned again a couple of days later and again had a great night. Cocktails are fantastic

Visited here in August for a lovely cocktail during our long weekend in Cowes. Was so nice we came back again! Nice atmosphere, great vibe, attentive service and perfect for a relaxed evening where you don’t need a big meal but want to relax with a charcuterie board.

We visited on a number of occasions during our stay on the Isle. A few tables and chairs but the best seats are the sofas...just be careful not to settle I'm too much as it could become costly! They operate a full bar. Cocktails and gin but I would particularly recommend the cabernet Red (Oatley). Full bodied, rich taste..delicious both times I tried it! Staff are friendly. Don't go if you want lunch..a few olives maybe but not much else in the way of food. It won't put me off...wine bar feel in middle of Cowes what's not to like

Super bar. Excellent location, décor and ambience. Very friendly staff and fellow drinkers—I went there for cocktails. The Blueberry Margarita is a showstopper.

Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend.

Great food can get very loud at times with people talking over eating others being a small dining area.

Good size meals, especially breakfasts. Good cuppa, no frills just true value, friendly staff. I would visit again and recommend this café.

I can't comment on the Rooms because we didn't stay overnight, we just met other business partners for a Christmas Lunch.....This is where it failed to deliver! Christmas lunch on the 'Specials Board' was either a Baguette with pigs in blankets and a salad or Turkey and Cranbury sauce which should have been called Cranbury Sauce with a few bits of Turkey. I didn't fancy paying £14 for this so had a cheeseburger & chips. My wife went for the Cranbury Baguette specifically asked for No Crabury (it was full of Cranbury). My cheeseburger was dry (well overheated in the microwave no doubt) and my cheese arrived 10 minutes after I'd started (a slab melted onto a plate). I also asked that the Brioch bun was seadless as i cant eat anything with seeds, it was covered in seeds. A colleagues burger was equally as bad though hers was served with the cheese at the same time so a small bonus. Everyone waited ages for the food and everyone was equally unimpressed with the menu choices and the quality of the food. Because we waited so long for the food I couldn't be bothered to ask for a seed free bun and my wife didn't want to ask for a Cranbury free Turkey Baguette and we just wanted to eat and get out of there. This was pre booked but not by us and it wouldn't be a choice venue, certainly won't be in the future. I don't like being negative but this is an honest review. We were looking forward to a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, sadly this was the wrong place to go for a dinner.

Nice staff, reasonable price and we love a bit of cash preferred! Good doughnuts and hot chocolate perfect from when you come out the sea!
