Warm and welcoming dining pub. We both had the steak and kidney pudding, which was delicious. The loos were spotless.

Disabled friendly is a joke Ordered mac and cheese, and it was cooked in a microwave . Do better at home

Food was piping hot but was done in the microwave. Disabled access needs to be addressed. Menu was very poor and not much choice and expensive for what it was.

Had a brilliant dinner here with my family, staff was lovely. Very good portion sizes and I'm a eater!, the lasagna was amazing unfortunately I was too full to try the desserts but they looked good when others was having them. Well worth a visit and I would book can get busy

Catastrophic reception. We wanted to reserve a table for the evening but unfortunately we were told that they do not take reservations. No problem, we'll come back haphazardly in the evening. Arriving at 8 p.m., we enter the restaurant and wait 10 minutes next to a waitress who does not deign to look at us and continues to speak with the customers at a table while we are literally 10cm from her. We finally decide to ask for a table (because there were some available) from the bartender who tells us that they are all reserved. Great….

Excellent evening meal on Saturday. John and Ann-Marie are very welcoming hosts and make you feel as though you are amongst friends. The lamb served on a bed of creamy mashed potato with a dish of fresh vegetables was absolutely delicious, followed by syrup sponge pudding with custard. What more can I say but excellent. When we last had a meal at the White Hart, John did not have any zero alcohol beers, he now has a choice of at least three. Perhaps he did listen to my comment!! The only thing missing was to finish the meal with a coffee and GLAYVA. That would have been more than perfect. Down to you now mine host!

This is always a reliable place to recommend to visiting friends, and we were not let down this evening! Of the many visits I have made here, this was undoubtebly the best. Not only were the menu offerings unusual and interesting, but all dishes were of superlative quality and perfect in size and composition. This place really elevates pub food to another level, without being in any way pretentious or fussy. Keep up the good work - this place is such an asset to the Island...

Arrived at 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday for a drink. only to find this pub closed. When looking at their opening times it's not worth them being in business in our opinion. So we went Elsewhere and spent our money.

Myself and my Husband loved this lovely pub. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere and staff. The wait for the food was a little longer than you’d expect but I can’t mark them down as it was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully, and some things are just worth waiting for as they say! Perfect way to end our week on the Island. Would highly recommend.

Honestly, the best roast dinner out I’ve ever had anywhere The meat was cooked perfect, plenty of vegetables. I had pork belly and oh my, I was in food heaven Great service, a car park, decent ale. Hold on to that chef, she is absolutely class :)

We called in for a drink and the pub was so clean and pleasant, we booked a meal for later that evening. The food was served promptly and was of an extremely high quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal . The service was friendly and efficient. We would certainly go back .

Came in last night for mums birthday. The food was fantastic! However the service let it down, took 30 mins before our order was taken and that was after we asked for someone to take it. The plates took ages to be removed and then again it took ages to take our dessert order. The place wasn’t overly busy so very disappointing service.

Fantastic service. Staff & owners were particularly attentive especially as we had 2 dogs with us on a very hot day. Made a pleasant change to the usual local pub experience Only tried a few starter dishes but food was spot on. Totally recommend this pub and will without a doubt return in the future - thank you

Great food, great location, lovely garden, fantastic staff. A good selection of gas driven beer, but normally only has one or two ales on - that said they're normally local.

Always a lovely meal every time we visit on holiday. We called on the way home from a day out and got a table. Always service with a smile and lovely pub food, definitely worth a visit.

Came here on our last evening on the IOW. The food was absolutely beautiful! Presentation was fantastic and the service was excellent. Such a lovely atmosphere in the garden, our dog was welcome outside. Cannot recommend this place enough, will definitely come back on our next visit.

What a fantastic place the food is out of this world and nothing is to much for the staff they are so friendly and welcoming now when we go we take all our friends having told them how good the place is first time we went we had the beef stroganoff and the beef melted in your mouth then next time we went we took 6 people and had it as a birthday party and the staff was so helpful and this time of the 1940s show at havernstreet we took 12 people and having spoken to all the people they said the food was excellent Sgt major Marmite and friends Thank you again

First visit to this pub and what a find , from the moment we entered the pub to the food a fantastic visit . We were served at the bar by the owner (John) and a lovely attitude , we popped in for a drink and lunch and as we had the dog had to sit in the garden but did not spoil our visit , the service was always with a smile from the three staff we delt with on the day , the lunch we had was served piping hot , excellent presentation and very tasty , would say a lot better food than your average pub food and would say even though we had simple meals it could not have been improved on. Fantastic effort and if visiting the isle of wight worth giving them a visit .

The best lunch we've had on the Isle of Wight and the best lunch we've had anywhere for a very long time. Spotlessly clean, cosy place; great food; professional and friendly service; amazing desserts. Truly family-run and family-friendly inn. Five minutes walk from the Havenstreet railway station, and worth every step you'll make to get there. It is also very reasonably priced, and they don't add service to the bill, though it's likely you'll decide to add it yourself. Sorry, no pics, we have finished the food before taking photos.

Lovely country pub, good food and service.

I hadn’t been here for a while but considered it the best pub on the Island so I was delighted to find that it’s still a great pub. The landlords John and Anne-Marie are highly professional, friendly, and genuinely care about giving a great customer experience. Several cosy seating areas, a wide choice of food at fair prices, Ringwood ale on tap and an unhurried but attentive service. This is a country pub at its best.

WOW!!! Not been here for a while. Food, staff and atmosphere still excellent. We had the Beef Chasseur which just melted in your mouth. Definitely be back again.

Wow!! What an amazing experience!!. From the moment we stepped into this place, it brought us joy. All the staff were so friendly. Service was quick, restaurant was spotless. We had a really nice table with a window view. The food was exceptional- its the best chicken ive ever eaten, so flavourful and tender. In fact, everyone on our table really loved their food. Will definately return next time we visit the Island.

So we might be a little bit biased with the White Hart Inn being our local go to pub for great service and super home cooked food. Loved the crab ramekin starter followed by an amazing home made steak pie filled to the brim with tender melt in the mouth beef. Fingers crossed for some warm sunny weather so we can all get out in the beer garden.

Everything about our visit was fantastic. From the second we walked in the staff were great. A cosy inside dining space and large outdoor dining space. The staff took our order swiftly and made adjustments to suit my pregnant parter. We will definitely be back.

I went here for the first time last October and loved it and vowed to go again, so I went for a second visit last week. It was amazing I loved everything about it. The food was amazing, the first time I came here I had a lamb roast dinner which was gorgeous and this time we both had food from the specials, a pesto chicken Kiev and a tikka masala. All the staff we met were nice and friendly. Thank you all so much for a lovely experience.

Excellent customer service but you pay for it with over priced mediocre warm food and the pub and restaurant were so noisy you could hardly hear your self think . I can say my bill was the most expensive i have ever paid for one person . I am sorry Mr Manager but you are pumping above your weight , sadly i shall never darken your doors again . Remember you are a pub not a Michelin star restaurant

Not been here for ages. The food and service were very good. Only gripe was that they didn't have deserts left that I wanted so maybe ask them to put aside when ordering main meal. Will definately go again.

Lovely Sunday lunch with great service

First of all I just want to say how lovely the staff are here. We haven’t been here for nearly 4 years. At that time I thought the food was delicious, this time round-average. Lacked finesse and it was just a bit dull. Not bad but not amazing..just so so.

Limited small plate lunch menu unless you want a jacket spud or sandwich/baguette. I wanted the tempura batter prawns, but the batter had eggs in it - I'm very allergic to eggs. I had the pork with apricot and stilton - very tasty but much too big for lunch for me. I marked down for the atmosphere as it was mostly elderly people eating and my Mom and I kept having our conversation halted by very loud phone dings and beeps. The guy on the next table's phone rang - it was so loud you could've heard it on the mainland - his wife chided him and said he should have his hearing aids in... 🤔🤔

A wonderful traditional, homely village pub. Exceptionally clean, friendly and comfortable. An impressive menu with even more impressive food quality and taste. (The Chilli Nachos are to die for!!!) Every member of staff, out the front and behind the scenes are genuinely magic. A genuine and attentive, kind and caring individuals - every single one!!! Visited for dinner with 4 adults and my 2 children (6yo and 2yo). The service was perfect and the staff were really friendly to our children. The food was of a really high standard and far above the average pub. Extensive specials menu alongside the standard a la carte. Would strongly recommend.

Great food. We were under the impression it was dog friendly but dogs are only allowed outside. So when it started raining we had to eat in the rain!

We were made very welcome and enjoyed our meals and drinks at this lovely village pub. Some of us felt the food might have benefited with the addition of a little more spice in the curry as it was very mild, perhaps offer an option of mild, medium or hot?

Great food, fantastic service. Just wish we’d discovered it earlier on our week’s holiday as we’d have gone back again and again.

The halloumi and pesto fries were a tasty starter. Me and my friend liked the lasagna but agreed it was a little too cheesy , the garlic bread was lovely that came with it though. My other friend enjoyed her scampi.

Excellent Sunday roast, we have been twice this year (visiting from London) and food so wonderful, we went back today. All 3 visits were very busy so book a table to guarantee a stop, the food is fabulous and home made. The landlord and landlady are very welcoming and lovely, as are the rest of the staff. Well worth a visit.

Grabbed a cheeky pub lunch today at the White Hart Inn, Havenstreet. Sat outside as the sun was shining. Superb home cooked pub food with the usual attentive and friendly service. The pub was very busy with locals and tourists enjoying some rare summer sun over the Bank Holiday weekend. Staff greated us with smiles and took time to chat and make us feel welcome. Whitby scampi or traditional roast pork, what's your choice?

My two daughters and myself popped into the The White Hart, Havenstreet for lunch whilst on a day out on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. This English village pub cannot be praised enough, both for it's food and wonderful, friendly staff. I had the Ham and Cheese Ploughman's, with, mouth-watering, succulent thick cut ham, my girls had the ham sandwiches, totally outstanding in taste and presentation. I would probably say, this is the best Ploughman's Lunch I have ever had and I have had some fantastic ones in other English village pubs down the years. They had around 3 real ales on tap, can't recall for certain which I had, think it was from the Ringwood Brewery, but whatever it was, it was so good, I had a second pint to wash down my Ploughman's. For dessert, the girls and myself had locally made dairy ice cream - truly scrumptious! The down side of being such a popular hostelry is, you need to get here early. We just missed out on the last table indoors, but as it was such a glorious sunny day, we did not mind eating out in the beer garden. Top marks to the wonderful owner who served us and the lovely ladies behind the bar. If you are holidaying in the Isle of Wight, please make a point of visiting the White Hart Inn, it will be an absolute joy to eat and drink here.

Excellent! Sat outside as we hadn't booked and the restaurant was full. Friday lunchtime we thought would be ok, don't make the same mistake; make sure you book! Great choice on the menu and specials too. We both ate from special menu and food was perfect. Service helpful and friendly too. Can't believe we've not been here before.

A well anticipated lunch meet up with good friends, resulting in disappointment. We waited over an hour for our food. Over half an hour just for the order to be taken! Sadly NONE of the looked forward chicken dishes were available during to a 'delivery problem'. Well Ryde is only 15 minutes away, and shop there sell chicken! So I wasn't impressed as I only eat fish and chicken. By the time we had our order taken the lamb had also sold out and we had got there at 12.30! Which was sad because only one week before my partner had a lovely meal with good service. Just a bad day I guess.

Good food good service. We wouldn't keep going back if it wasn't. Probably one of the best pubs for food. Not just the usual pub grub, but good quality food. Personally recommend the Beef Ragu & Ginger Steam pudding 😋

What a find! Popped in for lunch and met with a friendly greeting. Every table had hand sanitizer and there was a plenty of choices on the menu. Both of our dishes were superb and the service was great, we will certainly be returning in the near future. More draught ales would have been nice, but it will not stop us going back.
