Always the best experience when visiting the George Vaults, atmosphere and food are amazing, cocktails are the best and the staff are so friendly and cannot be more helpful, exceptional service from Ryan, Nicole & Gaye. Thank you.

Was disappointed today with breakfast experience, waiting almost 5 minutes by the door to be seated, food was good, service declined since our last visit a month ago,the guy waiter I guess spill my coffee in soccer, after serving meal no one came to check on us if we want something else, blonde woman looks like second class manager with foreign accent didn't bother to check after on us after she brough food to ,girl behind the bar was overly tired to smile,a whole atmosphere was miserable and almost too much for them, after 12 o'clock second shift I guess started so they smile a bit. I visited Ivy in London Tottenham court road,Chelsea as well and must say this one should employe better staff doubt we will come back again...shame interio is nice and food as well fix management and waiting staff

Deeply disappointing. Staying here for a very special reason. The welcome bottle of Prosecco was nice but the glasses were filthy. Went for dinner - awful! Dirty table, bar covered in used glasses, staff lovely but completely rushed off their feet. There was nothing on the menu that I wanted, settled for the smallest tiny slice of salmon ever, the bread part arrived after I had finished. My husband’s soup was not as hot as the bowl it came in. Main course of plaice was ok but the accompanying vegetables were overcooked and just nasty. Lots of other people in the bar area are still waiting for their food over an hour after ordering. We are staying two nights and will find somewhere else to eat tomorrow. Such a shame

Sunday lunch with my family for my 70th Birthday. My Family have never been before and I wanted to take them to somewhere different and surprise them. My Granddaughter had looked it up on the internet and was very excited about going. When I booked they asked it it was a special event and I said it was 70th Birthday. We arrived and I ordered drinks and asked for them to be brought into the Moroccan lounge to told that the Moroccan lounge is not more as it under renovation to become a Thai massage room. 1st disappointment! I asked to then sit by the pool, it was OK but everything had been squashed up as renovations, 2nd disappointment! We went into lunch and I was surprised that I could not see any of the quirky heads, flamingos etc. Its makes the place, its why I wanted to take my family there. I asked and was told that the Crazy Bear is under new ownership and the last owner took all the crazy stuff with him! 3rd disappointment! I asked why the website had not been changed as the original pictures are still on there and its what my family expected to see. The waitress just shrugged. We chose our lunches and waited half an hour to get them. All of the Yorkshire puddings were dark brown almost verging on black!! I complained to the waitress and again she smiled and shrugged (none of us ate them) 4th disappointment! my beef was impossible to cut it was so stringy with sinews. I complained and the waitress was so apologetic and said she would get me a new one but it would be 15 minutes, I said the others would be finished by then and offered to take any meat available, whatever was quickest. I waited 20 minutes and a pork dinner arrived with an even blacker Yorkshire pudding! 5th disappointment Everyone else had finished so they all had to wait for me before pudding and I rushed along, not enjoying it at all. The puddings arrived and they had written on one of the plates Happy 70th Birthday in chocolate - It was very pretty and thoughtful but it was on the wrong plate! It was on my daughter in laws pudding plate and not mine. I laughed in astonishment that it was all going so bad, the waitress apologized again, looking embarrassed and said she would get another one. I said don't bother, I have seen it now and I am not waiting another 20 minutes for it to be re written! So my daughter in law ate her dessert off my 70th birthday greeting plate. 6th disappointment. In addition to this, the bar and areas were looking a bit shabby, the ladies had a sink out of order with a roughly scribbled bit of paper sellotaped to it (out of order) the door locks looked like they had seen better days. The whole thing was a let down. I still had to pay a large bill with tip which was included so no choice but to pay. Not the birthday lunch I was expecting. I emailed a complaint to the address on the internet and I got a nice apology from whoever, who said they were very sorry and could understand bla bla bla but I needed to write to the Manager or the owners! and attached both email addresses. I forwarded the complaint to both the email addresses and now 3 weeks later and I have had no response! 7th disappointment! I used to recommend the Crazy Bear to friends as somewhere special to go but now I'm telling them to steer clear as its just a multi disappointment. Avoid!

First impressions weren't great when I had my drink thrown over me by the clumsy waiter. Beer was topped up but was left soaked. Dinner alright, could of done with few more chips. Also a bit pricey. It was alright...

Food and service was okay, but I was bribed with a shot to write a good review. So I guess it was good!

The whole place is charming and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the toilets. Extremely clean toilets, I've never seen a pub this clean before.

Always a consistent warm welcome, great service and a good variety of beer. Fantastic food-a really interesting mixture including all the classic pub style stuff- but the real gem is a variety of Asian-style dishes not to be found on the Island. However the fish and chips is unbeatable.

My first time back at the Eastney Tavern in over 40 years whilst on a brief visit to Portsmouth. Thoroughly enjoyed the excellent hospitality and super food offering, all at very reasonable prices. Happy to heartily recommend.

Looks a bit shabby from the outside, but the welcome was friendly. Good choice of keg beers and extensive menu with specials on a board. My tuna & mayonnaise sandwich was tasty and great value.

Great Harvester which has been given a makeover since the last time we came last year. Kathy was our waitress who was very friendly and helpful. Food was as good as the last time, BBQ Stack chicken was tender and tasty as was the Half Chicken Rotisserie. Highly recommended we will be back!
