Two of the meals arrived cold. Was really looking forward to this experience and thought the food was very middle of the road and overpriced....cold meals just not acceptable. Very very expensive for such a low standard..not going back.

Dropped in for lunch with my wife and we had a burger and a chicken Milanaise which were both pretty well executed and of good quality. The truffled sauce with the chicken was to my taste overpowering but it was served in a separate sauce boat so you could have as little or as much as you want. The chunky chips were nice and crisp and good sized portions. Sticky toffee pudding was also good but the amount of cream a bit on the stingy side as was the amount of pudding for the price. The wine list quite good but a bit overpriced. The decor is very nice and accompanied by a relaxed, up market ambience. I found the menu a bit quirky and finding a suitable dish for lunch a bit harder than it looked at first. Service was pretty good despite it being a very popular and hence busy venue. Overall however I thought the food and drinks overpriced for what you get but it was still a enjoyable, good quality meal.

Typical of The Ivy chain. Lovely decor, good atmosphere. 2 of us went for lunch midweek and it was pretty full, so reservations recommended. We ordered cocktails, some wine, starters and mains from the set lunch menu and dessert and coffee afterwards. We saw the bartender prepare the cocktails and they sat on a tray on the bar for some time. Meanwhile a waitress brought our starters which we asked to be returned to the kitchen whilst we finally enjoyed our drinks. The meal that followed was great, tasty and nicely presented. We then asked for our bill which took over 20 minutes to arrive as our waitress was dealing with a large group who appeared to have ordered all together but wanted to then split their bill to pay for exactly what they had! Frustrating for us but not really the restaurant's fault. A 12.5% service charge was added automatically. I don't like this trend and feel it should be left to the customer's discretion. Overall a pleasant lunch, with a couple of hiccups. Perhaps not the special experience we have had at other Ivy locations.

The Ivy Chichester was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was superb. The elegant surroundings made for a perfect lunch. The service was exceptional, every member of the staff being both attentive and friendly, adding a personal touch to the overall experience. The attention to detail in all aspects was truly impressive from the presentation of the food to the ambiance of the restaurant. Each dish we tried was not only delicious but beautifully crafted, reflecting the high standards they uphold. I loved every moment of it and can’t wait to return!

Beautiful dining experience! We chanced upon The Ivy while in Chichester for the weekend and seeing the positive Google reviews, decided to give it a go. It was quite a busy (and rainy) day when we went, so perhaps that’s why service was on the slow side but everyone was always friendly and very welcoming. We found the prices and portions very reasonable, food was delicious and beautifully presented too. Definable a place to return to!

The food was nice but the service was very slow. There were 5 of us and we were in here over 2.5 hours, on a Monday evening. Our starters came out before the drinks which was 15-20 minutes from ordering. The bill was incorrect and I have no idea how because we all had the set menu. We came for a birthday celebration and had added a note to the booking about this but nothing was done until we asked which was disappointing. All round the poor service experience outweighed the food and atmosphere. I would not rush back.

We felt very well looked after. The food & drinks were so yummy. Atmosphere was perfect. It was a busy Friday night but didn't feel it as the service was speedy yet very attentive. The Ivy Chichester offers a delightful dining experience that combines elegance with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Situated in the heart of Chichester, the restaurant's stunning decor features lush greenery and stylish furnishings, creating a chic yet comfortable environment. The menu is diverse, showcasing a blend of classic British dishes and international flavors. From hearty brunch options to sophisticated dinner choices, each dish is beautifully presented and made with high-quality ingredients. The truffle risotto and the seafood linguine stand out for their rich flavors and generous portions. The dessert selection is equally impressive; the chocolate bombe is a must-try for any sweet tooth. Service at The Ivy is attentive and friendly, with staff well-versed in the menu and eager to provide recommendations. This adds to the overall experience, making guests feel valued and well-cared for. However, the restaurant can be on the pricier side, which may not suit all budgets, particularly for casual dining. Reservations are recommended, as it tends to be popular, especially during weekends. Overall, The Ivy Chichester successfully combines ambiance, quality food, and excellent service, making it a perfect spot for special occasions or a leisurely meal with friends. Whether you’re looking for a vibrant brunch or an elegant dinner, The Ivy delivers an enjoyable experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Yep a return visit after our last date was derailed by a hospital consultant. And back at our Favourite, Table #6 Three of our party opted for your famous Shepherds' Pie. As good as ever, on this occasion twinned with Spinach and Broccoli. As the late Michael Winner would say, "Historic" was the only suitable way to describe the Spinach. Absolutely gorgeous. Desserts were again centred around the Chocolate Bombes. With one divergence towards a Creme Brulee with Espresso. Another inspired concoction. Hayling Seagoon

The online booking system was easy, but we were happy to be reassured that the suggested time limit for our table would not matter. When asked, our delightful host, Abbie, simply cast her eyes around the fairly quiet restaurant and beamed a smile that said, "No worries." Abbie was a delight and rose to the occasion of our special date. She was genuinely excited when I asked for a surprise cocktail and delivered her favourite. Mentioning that it was similar to the Porn Star Martini, it took no more than a look and a wink to order the same for my darling as another secret surprise. Our meal was a wonder, and we were especially impressed by the careful preparation and confirmation of our important gluten-free requirements. It was a very nice touch when I stupidly knocked the table and spilt both of our last glasses of wine, and Abbie responded immediately by serupticiously ordering us replacements on the house. Thanks Abbie. Xx

Clarification for the public: If you get a response from the manager asking to email for further assistance you will get no response. It’s just for optics, apparently! Not interested! Food was great, high quality and well presented. Drinks are on the expensive side. Service was attentive but one thing spoiled it all, a young waitress with black under the nails serving food. My sister arranged for us to have tea at the Ivy, it was to celebrate my birthday and to have a day out with our mother. The table was booked online and it was noted this was for a birthday. When we arrived we were asked whose birthday was being celebrated, and we told the staff member. After the tea and food were delivered no-one came to our table to check everything was okay. The tea was nice and the cakes and sandwiches were nice but the service was seriously lacking. My sister told two members of staff, separately , after we had finished our tea that it was a birthday celebration and no-one had brought a cake or said Happy Birthday, but there response was "sorry". Neither person made any attempt to correct the situation and were indifferent. It was a disappointing visit to the Ivy, and even more disappointing customer care.

I visited the Ivy Chichester recently as a special treat for my daughter and as always the food and service was excellent. BUT ....... we were placed in the room right at the back and it was SO COLD in there which very much spoiled the evening for me and of course very quickly made my delicious plate of hot food cold. I did say to the waitress that the room was cold (and I wasn't the only person to make that comment), but for me having been to The Ivy just a few times I was very disappointed. Also the chairs which we were sitting on are no where near as comfortable as the main dining area, so I was cold and uncomfortable. So for me what was supposed to be a special evening was ruined. Some lovely well thought about cheese with grapes and really nice whole grain crackers and very good tasty grapes. A pot of really good coffee and cream…I am a coffee snob and this pot of coffee beats any other coffee I have had In Chichester. A really relaxed and nice brunch. I had never been into this restaurant on a weekend evening before , preferring lunchtime or late afternoon to dine. This Friday evening the restaurant was buzzing with tons of atmosphere and certainly lively no doubt due to the FESTIVAL OF SPEED at nearby Goodwood. I ordered steak tartare as a starter, followed by Tempura Prawns and Calamari. Steak and Tempura Prawns were superb but the Calamari was overcooked with too much batter. Dessert was an open flat bed pastry apple tart with vanilla ice cream doused in a flamed calvados. This was surprisingly good, but really did not need a flaming calvados addition. I ordered a Negroni which did not really meet my taste bud approval, purely because it was the wrong colour making me think it lacked correct quantities of spirits.( I have been drinking Negroni for about 50 years, long before it became a fashionable go-to, so I am somewhat familiar to its taste ). Having said all of the above, the overall atmosphere in the restaurant was superb and our waitress was so wonderful, she went out of her way to really make us feel welcome and relevant. I like the menu for its variety and the quality is 8.5/10. Well worth a visit.

I loved it here. Just everything about it. The decor is fab. It was a lovely evening so we sat outside but would sit inside in future as not a lot to see unless you're looking in the direction of the cross. Monday to Wednesday there's a set menu which is good value for money.

Decor is so nice but does it make up for the food? Pancakes below average just a ton of yogurt, mini pastries naff.. good mocha

Stopped for cocktails. Very nice if somewhat expensive! Service was good and attentive.

Great country pub, we met friends here and really enjoyed our lunch , the food was good with sensible portions, the beers were well kept and the surroundings were homely and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, we will definitely visit again.

Top quality food. Ambitious menu. Worth my drive 30 miles for special occasion meal. Run by husband and wife team that own the premises so do have to pay rent for expensive town accomodation or to employ a star chef. Therefore prices very reasonable for quality delivered. Restaurant out of town near A27 so no country views. But not aware of traffic once inside. Also easy parking in restaurant garden so no access problems.
