Met & Greeted with a smile & took our jackets to store for us. Guided to our table, ordered & recieved Drinks in a nice time. Had a while to decide what to have for Starters & Mains, so much selection You weren't hurried, all done easy. Food arrived very hot & tasty. Plenty of it too. The atmosphere when we arrived was quite with music but due to it being a Friday it got very busy. Enjoyable. Our Waitor Connor was a friendly & interesting gent. A must especially for a Special Occassion.

The setting is good. It has a lively atmosphere, by having the cocktail bar right in the middle. The food items are fresh and overall it's good, not outstanding, but good. For example the steak doesn't have a charcoalled flavour or its meat stands out in any sort of way. The whole meal lacked more flavour, it was too safe. The staff was attentive and friendly. And then came the bill. Two of us at £110 per head, and that is without having had a bottle of wine nor dessert. Extortionate in general, but more so for what is being served.

Mother’s Day, very busy as you would expect. The service was polite and attentive but very very slow. The food, overcooked scallops, overcooked cod loin. The very professional waitress removed both from the bill. If you allow so many tables to book, ensure you have enough staff and a chef that can cook seafood. Won’t go back anytime soon

Ordered drinks on arrival. These sat on the bar for some considerable time until we managed to catch someone's eye and were able to ask for them to be brought over. By then, my husband's ice cold beer glass was warm and wet. The wine had not been chilled, and was lukewarm. On ordering from the menu I chose the osso buco (one of the three monthly specials), 10 minutes later the waitress returned to say they had run out - really? At 7.30 on a Friday night? Whoever the kitchen manager is, they are not doing a good job. My husband enjoyed his curry, but the clams and mussels in my fish stew were overcooked and the dish would have benefited from a slice of bread to mop the sauce up with. I appreciate that you can buy a basket of bread, but there would have been far too much for one person. Service was very slow, and we had to keep asking for our wine to be poured, as the ice bucket in which they had attempted to cool it, was out of reach. Overall, a very underwhelming and disappointing experience.

Birthday Lunch for son. An excellent lunch today at The Ivy, Chichester. It was very busy, but service was good, lovely staff, and food was really yummy! I can recommend the Robata Chicken skewers with bang bang peanut sauce, which all 3 of us loved. and everything else, including a pasta, tomato and slow cooked 3 meat main course, and my delicious dessert, of frozen fruit, with hot white chocolate sauce and yogurt sorbet complete with smoky effect ! We are now stuffed, and not sure we'll have room for birthday cake! . 10/10 The Ivy! (2 courses for £19.99...we thought it very good value )

Tatin Old fashioned cocktail was nice so, I'll be generous and give the food and drink two. I went for a burrito on the way home. So back to a one star. This place is just Pretentious W4nkery, about the same price as a one star Michelin restaurant for worse quality than 'spoons.

Went with my wife and 3yo daughter on a Sunday as heard the roast was good. Considering the poor weather and quiet high street, the restaurant was rather busy and other guests seemed in good spirits, create a cosy ambience from the bitter cold outside. The service was attentive but not overbearing, and the waiter's engagement with our daughter was refreshing. Coffees and drinks arrived swiftly and we were taken through the menu, and ordered the Chicken and Beef Roast. They were well cooked with pinkness throughout the beef (as I ordered). Generous portions left us quite satisfied. Overall a very nice experience. We will be returning!

Chose here for a family Birthday celebration for seven of us. We regularly go to The Ivy in Brighton (exceptional service & impressive professionalism every single time), & had expected the same here but from the (very poor) welcome and directing on arrival, it was a disappointment. Drinks were extremely slow to be offered & even slower to be delivered. It was the same throughout, whereas in Brighton it’s a well oiled, slick & customer focused operation, here it was like a practice run for front of house catering students. There was no evidence of any senior person leading service and whilst the kitchen was sending good food, it wasn’t presented with any sense of care. Lack of attention to front of house detail let the whole thing down. We spent a lot of money for a bit of a sad experience. Wouldn’t recommend it and definitely won’t be going back to this one - the Brighton team win hands down!

A quiet Monday (few tables occupied for lunch). 8 of us booked for 2 o’clock to celebrate our departed Father’s life. There were barely any staff serving. After 15 minutes we had to ask for drinks. Their ‘House Wine’ considering it cost £30 a bottle was really poor. The waiter finally took our food order but then I assume finished his shift, no one took over. Food eventually arrived which to be fair was good - no complaints there. But then not cleared until chased. Again, chased desert menu, took too long and no drinks delivered. Only one member of staff appeared concerned and she had only just arrived for work. No management available or bothered to apologise even though we requested their attention. We should have gone to Côte Brasserie.

Very disappointing. Pushy and charmless service. Food a mixed bag - chicken good, roast beef was just terrible. That a relatively high end restaurant can serve tough, overcooked, tepid brown strips of meat (stuck together, curling up at edges, presumably from being under a heat lamp) and charge almost £30 is beyond me. When I raised this I was brushed off by my waitress “I’ll pass that on”. No follow up. Robotic service at end “was everything all right?”. Apart from the main course which I’d already brought to your attention, no, it wasn’t. I’ve eaten at several Ivy restaurants and this was a disappointment. Suggest they concentrate on the quality of food over training waiting staff to keep pushing everyone to keep spending. Not coming to this branch again.

Ok, so it's a bit more expensive than a take-away, but you're paying to sit down and eat delicious, crafted food in a lovely environment. I hadn't been here before but the lovely woman I married had, and she recommended it for our date night. I'm glad she did, for 3 reasons; 1 - ambience (relaxed enough, but without letting people get away with tracksuits and such); 2 - decor, it's so nice to eat at tables with proper cutlery, tablecloths and real napkins, and the overall decoration was luxurious without being off-puttingly opulent; 3 - the food, the main attraction does not disappoint, I had the cheese souffle to start (and it was excellent), followed by the truffle burger (just because it took burger form doesn't mean it wasn't delicious). There is ample parking in and around Chichester, we parked in a side street but note there are restrictions in place so read the signs. Plenty of other car parks around as well. If you haven't been to Chichester before, allow yourself extra time to get lost/frustrated on the ring-road and one-way systems.

If you’re going for the festive set menu don’t waste your time or money to say the food was poor would be an understatement. The quality of the food is well below par of what you would expect from the Ivy food was lukewarm at best was sent back to the kitchen as it was all cold my friends ordered the steak this you had to pay an extra £5 to have which when it arrived it was that on a plate a choice of one side £55 for a sorry looking piece of meat! When my meal finally arrived my Friend had to sit and watch me eat as they had long finished. Then the dessert the festive snowman again a supplement of £3.95 for two scoops of ice cream in a white chocolate shell!! Xtra supplements on a Christmas menu!!! This was supposed to be a Christmas treat as a present . The ivy has become all style and no substance! Here’s a rephrased version of your review: Sadly, another disappointing experience at The Ivy Chichester. Our first festive meal out, which we had eagerly anticipated, fell far short of expectations. By 5pm on a Sunday, they had already run out of both turkey and Christmas puddings—hardly ideal for a festive menu. The evening was marred by a series of issues. My partner’s first cocktail was mostly ice with barely any actual drink, despite the premium price. To add to the frustration, empty glasses were cleared away without any offer of a refill. When it came to starters, my partner’s arrived, but mine hadn’t even been ordered, leaving us to eat separately. For my main, I ended up with a soggy duck salad instead of the festive dinner I had hoped for. Not the Christmas treat I envisioned and certainly not up to the standards I expected. The manager and my second waiter were both apologetic, which was the only redeeming aspect of the evening. However, with a total bill of £117 (they removed one starter), I can confidently say it was far from worth the money spent on either the cocktails or the food. Next stop Purchases restaurant.

Dropped in for lunch with my wife and we had a burger and a chicken Milanaise which were both pretty well executed and of good quality. The truffled sauce with the chicken was to my taste overpowering but it was served in a separate sauce boat so you could have as little or as much as you want. The chunky chips were nice and crisp and good sized portions. Sticky toffee pudding was also good but the amount of cream a bit on the stingy side as was the amount of pudding for the price. The wine list quite good but a bit overpriced. The decor is very nice and accompanied by a relaxed, up market ambience. I found the menu a bit quirky and finding a suitable dish for lunch a bit harder than it looked at first. Service was pretty good despite it being a very popular and hence busy venue. Typical of The Ivy chain. Lovely decor, good atmosphere. 2 of us went for lunch midweek and it was pretty full, so reservations recommended. We ordered cocktails, some wine, starters and mains from the set lunch menu and dessert and coffee afterwards. We saw the bartender prepare the cocktails and they sat on a tray on the bar for some time. Meanwhile a waitress brought our starters which we asked to be returned to the kitchen whilst we finally enjoyed our drinks. The meal that followed was great, tasty and nicely presented. We then asked for our bill which took over 20 minutes to arrive as our waitress was dealing with a large group who appeared to have ordered all together but wanted to then split their bill to pay for exactly what they had! Frustrating for us but not really the restaurant's fault. A 12.5% service charge was added automatically. I don't like this trend and feel it should be left to the customer's discretion. Overall a pleasant lunch, with a couple of hiccups. Perhaps not the special experience we have had at other Ivy locations.

The team went above & beyond. Service was impeccable and they made the occasion feel even more special buy wishing us a happy anniversary with a lovely little pudding as an extra treat. We felt very well looked after. The food & drinks were so yummy. Atmosphere was perfect. It was a busy Friday night but didn't feel it as the service was speedy yet very attentive. Thank you very much for such a lovely evening! We will be back.

The Ivy Chichester offers a delightful dining experience that combines elegance with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Situated in the heart of Chichester, the restaurant's stunning decor features lush greenery and stylish furnishings, creating a chic yet comfortable environment. The menu is diverse, showcasing a blend of classic British dishes and international flavors. From hearty brunch options to sophisticated dinner choices, each dish is beautifully presented and made with high-quality ingredients. The truffle risotto and the seafood linguine stand out for their rich flavors and generous portions. The dessert selection is equally impressive; the chocolate bombe is a must-try for any sweet tooth. Service at The Ivy is attentive and friendly, with staff well-versed in the menu and eager to provide recommendations. This adds to the overall experience, making guests feel valued and well-cared for. However, the restaurant can be on the pricier side, which may not suit all budgets, particularly for casual dining. Reservations are recommended, as it tends to be popular, especially during weekends. Overall, The Ivy Chichester successfully combines ambiance, quality food, and excellent service, making it a perfect spot for special occasions or a leisurely meal with friends. Whether you’re looking for a vibrant brunch or an elegant dinner, The Ivy delivers an enjoyable experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Delicious food. Friendly and attentive staff but not suffocating. Great decor. Very faint background music which is excellent. You won’t be shouting to each other. I cannot bear loud music in restaurants, it is totally unnecessary. The Ivy know this so no loud music here.

Yep a return visit after our last date was derailed by a hospital consultant. And back at our Favourite, Table #6 Three of our party opted for your famous Shepherds' Pie. As good as ever, on this occasion twinned with Spinach and Broccoli. As the late Michael Winner would say, "Historic" was the only suitable way to describe the Spinach. Absolutely gorgeous. Desserts were again centred around the Chocolate Bombes. With one divergence towards a Creme Brulee with Espresso. Another inspired concoction. Hayling Seagoon

The online booking system was easy, but we were happy to be reassured that the suggested time limit for our table would not matter. When asked, our delightful host, Abbie, simply cast her eyes around the fairly quiet restaurant and beamed a smile that said, "No worries." Abbie was a delight and rose to the occasion of our special date. She was genuinely excited when I asked for a surprise cocktail and delivered her favourite. Mentioning that it was similar to the Porn Star Martini, it took no more than a look and a wink to order the same for my darling as another secret surprise. Our meal was a wonder, and we were especially impressed by the careful preparation and confirmation of our important gluten-free requirements. It was a very nice touch when I stupidly knocked the table and spilt both of our last glasses of wine, and Abbie responded immediately by serupticiously ordering us replacements on the house. Thanks Abbie. Xx

Two amazing lunches in the past month ... superb food, great service and a lovely buzz! Try the spicy kebabs with a coconut and coriander sauce, green beans and almonds and maybe chips to share, yum! We shared the cheese board and then shared the cheese board, all superb. We went for the house white wine as the wine is annoyingly over-priced but were very happy with the Portuguese white!

The food is absolutely delicious and worth every penny. I went with my wife on Goodwood revival weekend in the evening and it was very busy so service was understandably a bit slow but our server was attentive, very friendly and gave us some nibbles while we waited. The décor is beautiful and full of character with everything very clean

I went here Tuesday lunch. We arrived at 12.00 staff were very smiley but not genuine. We waited until 1.10 for our one course. Which was on the specials. No one caught your eye, but when I complained very politely. It was just oh apologies. Take off wine & bread. It was my friends first time never again. Mine no more, dreadful they rest on the name, without commitment. All show & uniforms. Shallow.

Our first visit to the delightful pub. We received a warm welcome and excellent service. A nice choice on the menu and the food was delicious. The pub was cosy with a nice open fire and plenty of car parking space. Will definitely return.

Recently visited on a Sunday lunchtime. The kitchen was only open until 3pm and the dining area was fairly full so it's probably best to book ahead. We called ahead to check that the nutroast was suitable for vegans and the staff confirmed that it could be made to a vegan recipe - staff double checked with the chef when we arrived. Food was delicious - the nutroast had a great flavour and texture, and there was a generous portion of roast potatoes. The portion of meat on the pork roast was slightly on the small side, but the giant homemade yorkshire pudding made sure noone was hungry!
