The best restaurants serving British food in South East

We ate here two nights in a row on a recent trip. Both evenings the staff were extremely friendly and the food was excellent also. One downside is that they do not have an area for baby changing, although I was able to use a quieter room. They did however have a high chair available and were very accommodating otherwise. Worth a visit!

We all had the pleasure of being served our ice creams by Keith on Mothers Day! What a delight and credit to your business this young man is.... so enthusiastic and with an abundance of personal recommendations on so many flavours and options available. He made our afternoon!

One of the best Sunday pub roasts we have had and we have had a few. The beef just melted in your mouth, the vegetables were plentiful and nicely crunchy, all accompanied by some lovely roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding, just perfect!

Fantastic atmosphere. Lovely interior. Stranger outside garden. Lovely to take a break here for a drink.

Mixed feelings about it. On Sundays they offer only a set menu, which should make everything much more express and quick. Instead we have been on the restaurant for more than 2 hrs and the first 40 mins was waiting time of various sort.

Erin was a delight and provided efficient and friendly service and we couldn’t thank her more for the lovely experience we had last night!

How lovely to have this wonderful veggie / vegan pub at the end of a long walk along the Thames. Delicious food and tasty beer on tap. Fast and friendly service and peaceful river views. Highly recommend the cauliflower steak with it's amazing caper sauce.

Coming back again this year 2025 Ideal wonderful hotel with seafront views Lovely breakfast and staff 😋 looking forward to it.

Great pub. I’m involved with the Jazz Club X jazz jam on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30pm. Sam the manager has been very supportive in bringing in the crowds and I would recommend this pub to anyone who wants to organise an event. Their function room is a nice size and the bar / restaurant has a good range of drinks and food.

We use this restaurant regularly and are normally served by Lesley in the bar area. Food is always good and the service from Lesley is 1st class, she is welcoming and takes time to engage with all her customers.

Nice food, large portions. Busy so get there early or book. Dog friendly and there is a menu for dogs. Reasonably priced too.

Hidden Gem! Didn’t know this pub existed, but met some friends there. Excellent friendly staff, good food, clean, tidy with a large garden with outdoor food and seating areas. Highly recommended.

I had a medium pie of cod tonight take away, not only small, I've seen bigger fish fingers. It was the worst cider I've eaten, to me it was re-fried and wasn't cod and £8.90 for a total rip off

Excellent Service and Food. We asked for a quiet table when we booked...andvthey honoured our request The Service was excellent all night...as was the food. Asparagus starter was amazing ..I also went for the steak which was ordered 'medium rare' but it came more medium to well...still very tasty though. Choice of wines and drinks was very comprehensive...many English wines on offer which were lovely Excellent choice of deserts...well definitely be back!
