Stopped for a quick drink whilst passing through. Was nice and quiet, loved the advertising for the upcoming supper club events, they sounded great. Nice garden patio area with nice seating, also noticed they had some pods which I see the gent set up for dining so assuming you can book those to eat in. Situated in a nice area. Thank you!

What a beautiful place with gorgeous food. We were lucky enough to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine in lovely surroundings. Matt who looked after us was so friendly and helpful as were the rest of the team. We will definitely be back.

Perfect spot , very clean, lovely garden and interior. We pop in only for drink but will back for food. Attentive staff,highly recommended.

We were there for lunch and ate outside. The place is very nicely done out. Service was very good, mature, with smiles and helpfulness although some things came up a bit slowly. We had three courses. Food was not run of the mill and with some interesting mixes. The veggie tart starter was very good; mains - my trout was good but was slightly undercooked so had to send it back -no problems with that.. Anne's duck was nice but was two slabs of meat so a better presentation is needed. Choc mousse was good but the choccy bread and butter pud (a special) needs work. (I have high standards) Overall - recommended. The three course set menu is £32 +12.5%.

Sunday lunch at its finest! I cannot recommend the Greyhound highly enough after our recent experience for Sunday lunch. Food was fantastic but it was the service, in particular from Alex that made it. We were a party of 6 with lots of questions and despite a very busy restaurant, Alex made us feel like we were no1! GREAT job! Thank you Greyhound. We already booked for next Sunday.

An excellent Sunday lunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, superb food and outstanding customer service from Alex. Not only was he knowledgeable and professional but delivered our service with a great sense of humour that kept us laughing all through lunch. Thank you Alex and team we look forward to returning soon.

Celebrated a special occasion with some work colleagues. The meal was lovely and we received a very warm welcome from Tom, Jess and Matt. I would definitely recommend the Greyhound at Finchampstead as a perfect venue for dining.

We visited The Greyhound in November and returned in January following the launch of the new menu. We had a great evening and the place was buzzing. The new menu especially delighted the fish lover amongst us. The staff were really attentive but not overboard and it was good value for the quality of food. Full intending to go again, would recomend.

Just back home after having lunch at the Greyhound. As usual the food was top class. We are real foodies and always willing to try new things. Every single morsel was exceptional. The real reason for this review is for our server Jess. Keep in mind that this was a cold January day and my husband , daughter and I decided to eat outside in a Cabana. The Cabana was heated and we were dressed for the cold weather. Jess, our server was not . This did not stop her being the perfect hostess. With her lovely smile and enthusiasm she braved the cold in her indoor clothes to give us the best service. Her knowledge of the dishes and wines were really helpful. As it was our Daughters birthday the chef sent a special dessert for the Birthday lady. Thanks to Jess who made the whole experience so lovely. Would happily recommend this restaurant for amazing food and even more amazing staff like Jess. We'll be back very soon again.

I last went to the greyhound more than twenty years ago, and was amazed when we recently stopped in for a drink. It's been beautifully redecorated and the menu was full of good food. We've since eaten there a few times and it's always been good. On our latest trip the.menu seems to have had lots of work and the hog and hogget from the specials board was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten, rich and savoury and just wonderful. The service was great, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely be going back...

Made an enquiry on 12/09/23 for Christmas Day booking at 1pm for x3, the response was only 12.00 & 2.30pm free. Booking so early was disappointed that 1pm request all the tables had gone. We've been out for Christmas Day for many years and always secured our desired time. Must have been off the ball in 2023. We arrive at 12.00 full of Christmas cheer and excited for our Christmas lunch. We where greeted and escorted into complety empty dining room, hummmm okay we must be the first. 20 minutes later we asked the server where is everybody she said they will be busier later. One hour later a table for x2 arrived by this point we had become so uncomfortable with the experience we had received being the only table in a completely empty restaurant with the staff staring constantly we felt like a zoo exhibition. The starter arrived and once cleared removed within seconds of the cutlery being placed and the main arrived meer minutes after. The whole experience was horrible I've had more atmosphere at a wake than at the greyhound. More tables did arrive around 1.20pm and by the time we made a hasty exit at 1.40am the resturant was a 1/3 full. Leaving me baffled as to WHY we where given such a time at the response email. The greyhound deliberately placed us in an completely empty restaurant for 80% of a meal which was £110 each + drinks and £50 inforced tip the server made it clear they did not want to be there. Who ever runs this place clearly states as the profits and does not want returning custom. We had been regular patrons until 2023 wake-mas. Know its avoided like the plague and not recommended to anyone I come in contact with.

Lovely cosy restaurant with polite efficient staff. Ordered burgers which were perfect, not greasy or sloppy and lovely chunky chips. Nice Chilean Chardonnay. Car park spaces a little tight.

Quite rare nowadays to find somewhere that does a nicely prepared & interesting vegetarian course (that isn’t lasagne, veggie burger, or risotto!) The grilled cauliflower was a lovely thoughtfully, presented dish. We also really enjoyed the cocktails. The atmosphere is lovely as well. Service was great. What a little treasure! I’m looking forward to coming back in the New Year.

Went for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and it was truly a treat. You are really spoilt with full plates and as much extras (potatoes, cauliflower cheese, vegs) as you'd like! Probably the best roast we've had in a very long time. Excellent service, specially from Jess, who couldn't do enough to look after us. This place will definitely become a regular for us! :)
