Awesome pub, restaurant and bed and breakfast... was fortunate to of stayed a couple of times and the accommodation is off the charts, super comfy beds and cool decor. Most recent surprise mothers day visit was lovely too Thank you staff for a great adventure experience xxx

1 Food cold, then microwaved this was a special treat on Mother’s Day never visit again, they did take the meal off the bill but that isn’t the point when we were expecting a good meal.

We had a lovely early Mother’s Day celebration. The atmosphere was buzzing; the food was excellent and the waitress was very personable.

Despite assurances that although the bath was in the room the shower and toilet facilities were separate and private but unfortunately this is not the case. The shower is in the room with no real privacy and the toilet separated by a flimsy opaque glass door. Not particularly private unless you are a couple! The shower head was tiny and the temperature control faulty as the water was scolding hot only! (I did report this). The breakfast was equally disappointing having been told there were some things not available on the breakfast menu we asked if one of those missing items could be replaced with halloumi cheese available on one of the other selections and was told no it was too expensive to offer as an alternative. Considering the room rate we paid, I find this shocking! We were told the coffee and tea was self service to find no cups available and instant coffee in a bowl.overall the stay was NOT good value for money and I certainly would look at alternatives when staying in Olney again.

Once again The Bull staff delivered excellent service and the food was delicious. After ordering a light lunch we couldn't resist adding a portion of the pork scratchings served with apple sauce. A very pleasant impromptu break spent with my husband in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Brooke was an amazing host tonight. She made our night special and the good was great.

Stayed here recently for 1 night. It was absolutely lovely in a perfect location. The room was very nice and very clean. The staff were extremely welcoming. We dined there as well and had lovely tasty meals. Our waitress was so attentive and friendly. I think her name was Vinja (apologies if that is not spelt correctly). We will certainly return.

Previously had a fabulously nice meals at the Bull ( 3 courses too ) but tonight, booked in at 7.30pm, we ordered our wine ahead of our waitress taking our food order but they had already run out of 3 key classic main courses out of 6 as well as 1 of the specials (1 out of 2)-. Manager was great, apologising and offered us wine to accompany our alternative choices, the risotto was fine but the fish and chips poor ( small cod with thick batter and oil soaked chips which I left. We were very disappointed, like most people, a meal out is a huge investment, our money and time, and tonight we looked forward to our meal at the bull to be completely let down.

Stopped in Olney to find somewhere to eat and settled on trying The Bull. The atmosphere was very inviting and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was incredible and very good value for money. We will definitely be returning!

Terrine starter came with no bread/toast. We were told we could buy some…therefore making the starter £13. Mussels may as well have been served in cloudy water for there was a distinct lack of wine or garlic taste We both had pork belly Bon Bon which arrived cold and extremely greasy and was sent back to be re heated The lady manager apologised but the bill was £70 for what was a shocking lunch and experience. We certainly won’t be returning and other people we’ve since spoken to have had similar experiences, sadly. Just a shame we didn’t know that beforehand.

Visited this venue for Sunday lunch for the first time as we were visiting friends in the area and to be honest we booked as it was the only restaurant that had availability. Well, that was to our advantage. Best Sunday roast we've had in ages. Lovely friendly staff. The desserts were to die for. We will definitely return when next in Olney.

Absolutely gorgeous little place to stay. My room was decadent, my welcome was warm and my breakfast spectacular! Would definitely recommend

We had Sunday lunch here today and it was was absolutely fabulous. The nibbles menu had the best belly pork bites I have ever tasted, very moreish. The ravioli and kofta starters were very tasty. The roasts were huge and beautifully presented, two of us had the trio of meats and one had the beef, no complaints there. Sides of red cabbage and cauliflower and leek cheese were also very nice, the the pigs in blankets were a little bland. The service was excellent, our waitress was polite and very helpful, think she was called Brook, a credit to the establishment.

Lovely surroundings with a great atmosphere. We were a party of 14 to celebrate a retirement and the food was delicious. Only criticism is some of the food could have been hotter. The staff were very professional, attentive and friendly and a credit to The Bull.

We had a lovely meal - 1 pie and chips and 2 sea bass risotto - nothing sent back as we all enjoyed our meals. For pudding 1 stick toffee pudding and 1 cheese board for 2. Again we really enjoyed . Great service from Non and Chris and cannot say anything bad. Would recommend.

Terrible Sunday lunch,waiting staff were lovely but they all need training as they don’t seem to know what each other were doing!!, but this is down to the managers.overcooked beef,dry chicken soggy veg and no Yorkshire pudding . Won’t be returning In reply to your answer our bill was around £40 a head and I didn’t have a starter or pudding, telling us there’s no Yorkshire puddings as the plate is put on the table ( after waiting a long time )and the advertised beef was meant to be pink that turned up overcooked didn’t fulfil your advertised description ! If you weren’t staffed properly why did you continue to take more covers in the restaurant and unfortunately tarnish your reputation

Not many eating on this occasion, one long table and ourselves . Had waldolf salad , almost a bowl of lettuce! As I ate it I found gritty bits not very nice at all . Ordered a latte later and it was really strong like bitter gravy . Such a shame as they really tried with the service but with the rest it really let them down and I think apart coming in for a drink I would avoid which is a shame for such a lovely place.

Hmmmm..... Sunday. The waiting staff were pleasant enough. Service was VERY slow. Food is ok. Starters that took ages to arrive didn't manage to come out in one go (only a table of 6) we had to ask for the last starter! Long wait till mains. We were told there was an accident with the Yorkshire puddings, (I mean the amount of time we were waiting more could have been cooked!!) We were told extra veg was added to compensate...... Well I'm not sure how much veg you get as standard, there wasn't a lot there!!..... But then about 10 mins later a bowl of red cabbage was bought out 🤷‍♂️ Chicken was very dry, beef was overcooked. Again a good wait to order puds/coffee's. Two of the coffees were just about warm by the time they arrived, which again took some time. Eventually the puds arrived. Then a wait for us to ask for the bill..... Then some time after we were asked if we wanted anything else "no, just the bill, someone was already supposed to be doing that...." The place was not busy, so god knows what it'd have been like if it was. One couple did give up and leave!! Nice pub, but don't know if there were new cooks etc, because it wasn't their finest hour that's for sure. Table booked for 6, and we were put on a pretty small table as well.

Very very bad, lamb cofta.. like a stone waste of time, sunday lunch lamb.. uncooked sent back, chicken solid sent back, thai green curry.. nothing thai about it. Dont waste your money

Brilliant gastro pub with rooms. Dead hot in the summer however with no air con. Food is either brilliant or sub-par, depends which chef you have working. Used to be an older bloke from Sheffield and he was a great cook, but wasn't there last visit whilst working.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights over the Christmas period whilst visiting family nearby. We got back to our room on the first night and there was a mouse in the bathroom. With it being late, there was no one around to make them aware of this, we contacted the out of hours helpline 10 times over the course of an hour and no one came back to us. My husband stuffed all the holes in the bathroom in hope that the mouse wouldn't return. We didn't want to stay in the room but sadly we had no choice. This is an old hotel, but having mice is simple unacceptable and very unhygienic. The next morning we made a member of the staff aware, she didn't even apologise and we asked to be moved rooms for our second night. She said she would give us a call later on. We didn't receive a call so we went back to ask about changing rooms. They were able to move us, but still no apology about the night before.

I’ve stayed at this fabulous hotel on a few visits back to the Uk now. The staff are always extremely accommodating and service is excellent! A big Thank you to Noreen for going above and beyond with customer service !!! Rooms are unique and very comfortable ! Breakfast is wonderful !

Great pub plenty of seating and good service

We visit you all the time and choose you for your great service and excellent food. That’s why we booked on Christmas Eve for a very special lunch to celebrate Christmas and also the engagement of our daughter . It was a very important get together and we had traveled far and wide to be there. Unfortunately our lunch was a very disappointing experience which was such a great pity . One of our daughters and my husband had fish and chips ,not that hard to get right … however it was wet and soggy ,they said it tasted like a cheap frozen ready meal not what you expect from The Bull . Our son in law had a risotto which he said was very bland and I had Caesar salad with a chunk of incinerated chicken on top which looked and tasted dire . We mentioned it was a very special engagement celebration, we live far apart and although our waitress was pleasant enough she made no fuss or tried to make it feel special . Such a huge shame as we are folks that are easily pleased . We are really sad that the very special lunch , which costs a reasonable amount of money and we had all anticipated did not live up to our expectations in any way . Such a shame .

Very disappointing meal which took forever to arrive. We won't be back...

Great pub in the centre of Olney, our usual "go to" pub of choice. Always a friendly atmosphere and nice place to be.

Barman and waiter were excellent. Food was lovely. I thought prices could be a bit lower though. Expensive for what we had. Nice environment. The price is the only thing that would make me think twice about going back.

Excellent breakfast served for 20 of us! Food was delivered with good speed and excellent quality. We were looked after well by the staff who served us. Thank you to the team 😊

Had a large group booking for Sunday lunch in the Green Room. We had several changes to the number in the group due to illness over the preceding week and when ringing up to amend the booking the staff were very helpful and friendly. The Green Room was a perfect setting, especially as we had a number of under 5s in the group so were able to avoid disturbing other diners in the main restaurant area. The food was excellent, as was the service. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again, especially as a large group

We had a great Sunday lunch at the Bull last weekend. The food was excellent as was the service from all of the staff. A very enjoyable afternoon we will definitely come again.

Needed a place to stay for a night on business, was recommended The Bull and it didn't disappoint. Courteous staff were really helpful upon arrival and the room was really good too - not the regular 'box' of a Premier Inn but actually had some character! Just went there for lunch. The atmosphere, food and prices were all really good. The quality of service was poor. Almost empty yet a long wait to order, a long time to serve food and a ridiculous wait for the bill. If it's that bad when it is so empty I dread to think how bad it is at busy times.

Went for a meal today. Walked out (never done this before) I'm lactose intolerant. Whilst the waitress was as helpful as she could be the management was not. She was not allowed to ask Chef if any dishes contained dairy. The QR code list was incomplete and despite her efforts was not able to assure what was in each dish. I have eaten here before with no problem. I'm thinking this is a change of management. I won't be going back

Great pub with free parking in the town Square opposite. Lovely welcome and service and a delicious burger. Super clean, including the bathrooms. What more could you ask for?

Fish was tasteless, garnish painfully limp. Ordered Peach Tarte Tartin supposed to come with a quince brandy puree, what we got was a breakfast like square pastry that looked like it had a couple of shallots on it. Could not taste peaches, was not a proper tarte tatin and no puree. It was similar to what you get for a £1 on supermarket shelves alongside croissants. There was no taste or likeness at all to a peach tarte tartin, so disappointed, I am afraid we will not be returning or recommending. I guess that explains why it was practically empty when we are used to hoping to get a seat. No presentation, could not taste tartar sauce, I would be ashamed to put that food out even in a greasy cafe. Chef is either clueless or does not care. In answer to your response, we did raise it with your staff, who advised they would speak to chef, by the my partner had returned from conveniences, no one had returned to us, so we left unhappy.

Stayed here for one night and had a great breakfast. The room was beautiful, parking just across the road, Mr & Mrs Murphy were lovely hosts, as were all the staff we met. Look forward to staying there again when in the area.

The Bull was fantastic. We stayed for one night and were amazed at the friendly staff who really looked after you. From a warm welcome to engaging staff led by the manager, our meals were top notch and accompanied with local ales and super coffee....

My friend and I had the most incredible roast dinner on Sunday, I’m still dreaming of it now! It was perfection. I can’t wait to go back. Love the decor and dining environment too. All the staff we encountered were lovely and attentive. Nothing negative to say.

Wouldn’t recommend this place , went for our wedding anniversary stayed in the pasture room , bed was rock hard like sleeping on concrete slab worst night for no sleep, went to bar asked for jack Daniel’s n coke they didn’t have any what pub doesn’t have jd, so settled for s/ comfort the poor girl had to go hunting for that , went down to book table for dinner to be told chef has a large table of people to serve so we would have a long wait , we went elsewhere for dinner, came down to breakfast to be told the chef had rung in sick so only breakfast on offer was cereal no toast , that’s when we left , it spoilt our anniversary and certainly wasn’t worth the £130 we paid , I will certainly not be going back and certainly wouldn’t recommend this hotel to family or friends it would be embarrassing,

This was a fantastic Hotel for our 1 night stay in Olney. Lovely rooms in a very quaint and quirky 17th Century property. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb. Excellent value too!!

We only had a lunchtime meal so unable to provide a room review. I so very rarely give 5 stars as there is always room for improvement. On this day I had the burger. So I wasn't expecting anything more than a good pub burger... BUT NO.. THIS IS NOT WHAT WAS SERVED UP. I've been fortunate enough to once experience a 2* Michelin chef burger [never would have considered any burger worth a Michelin *] but it was really good. The Burger I had at the Bull knocked the socks off the Michelin * one I had; so much so I felt impelled to walk through to the open kitchen to personally thank the two chefs for procuring and cooking the very best Burger I've ever had. EVER! So thank you! I'm sure there are many other wonderful items on your menu and I truly hope to sample some on our next holiday or opportunity. M&D

Excellent place to sit and relax for a bite to eat or over a favourite drink - with friends, family, or simply by yourself. Wide choice of beer, cordials, wines, spirits a d non alcoholic drinks to choose from, to suit all tastes. Mouthwatering menu to select your meal or snack from also, which covers many dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan. Plenty of places to sit, including the odd hidden snug plus outdoor seating both at the front and back. Friendly atmosphere and friendly atmosphere and customer service. Worth a visit.

Good value, good food, the only thing difficult were the steep stairs to the rooms. Next time will bring a smqler case!

Myself and nineteen members of friends and family attended The Bull on a busy Saturday night for my mother in laws birthday celebrations. Due to the numbers of diners in our party the food was preordered. We found the staff to be friendly and efficient and always willing to help. I cannot speak for all but all diners within our group appeared to enjoy the food. I certainly did, with the Beer-Braised Beef Brisket Arancini; caramelised shallot broth being particularly good. The only negative for me was the Banana Crème Brûlée, soft ginger cookie and lime toffee. Had a texture of baby food with a rather tasteless ginger cookie. However, it’s not put me off going back again in the near future.

Great hotel, characterful rooms, clean and comfortable. All the staff I met, from the manageress (owner?) to the cleaning staff (Mia) and Non (?) in the restaurant we’re exceptionally helpful. Fantastic - 5 *****

We went to eat and drink with the family. I really liked the decoration, it makes you feel like you are at home, but also the warmth of the staff and the food. All very good. Highly recommended.

Average food, trying to be too fancy with some dishes and not getting the basics right. Pie crust was like cement and the banana creme Brulee was split and inedible. The staff did offer an alternative. Food and drinks took a long time to arrive even though it wasn't very busy

Went for a Saturday late lunch and came away feeling disappointed. Too many staff hanging around the table at the restaurant entrance.One member of staff, probably the chef, walking through the dining area eating on the go and dropping some as he went. The snacking...

Food was very average more a greasy spoon than a hotel restaurant. No flavour and either undercooked or overcooked and very greasy. The staff were dressed very untidy and scruffy not what you would expect from a hotel.

Took a chance on Sunday lunch and we we're glad we did. The only disappointment was some of the dishes were sold out by 1pm although there was still plenty of choice. Choosing pudding for anyone with food allergy's needed a smartphone but the waitress was very helpful. Would definitely return.

Had a lovely meal here, I had fish and chips which was really nice, hubby had ham egg ,chips and assured me it was lovely. Oh and we shared a really tasty scotch egg to start. We went at lunchtime so it was very quiet. Defo recommend you try it sometime.

Been in here a few times now and a really lovely atmosphere and setup. Has a cosy little bar area with sofas and board games towards the back, a conservatory area where I'd imagine if it was raining would be incredible to sit and enjoy a meal, and an outdoor area with maybe 10 or so tables. Lovely feel and friendly staff.

Stayed the night as part of a wedding party. The staff were excellent. We arrived late and missed the check in but thankfully the manager (we think) very kindly showed us to our rooms. Rooms were clean and well kept and comfy. Breakfast was delicious!

Absolutely avoid if your scottish!! We were told our £20 note wasnt accepted on the basis it could be fake! Tosh!....all pubs etc have ways of checking counterfeit notes... Either pen or light detection I'll wager it was because it was scottish,we all live under the same monarchy .. Time to abandon this arcahic outdated practise.... Small wonder there is cause for misunderstanding... The management need to instruct staff this is the 21st century! Appaling service....

I have been going to the Bull for over 35 years now. We went there today (Friday lunchtime) and had to wait nearly an hour for our food. They weren’t busy so clearly there was a problem. I ordered a ham eggs and chips, and it was all overcooked. The eggs were hard the ham was dry as were the chips. My wife’s duck Breast was a bit too pink but I guess that can be expected, but some people like their duck cooked through. I’ve had very good meals at this pub in the past but today wasn’t great which made it disappointing.

We had such a lovely time!! Stayed here due to visiting Silverstone and was a late minute booking. We were greeted by the manager who was very nice and attentive! We stayed in the stables and it was perfect!! Followed by a fantastic breakfast which was served by the most polite staff!! I am so pleased I found this hotel and would highly recommend to anyone!! Stayed here for one night en route to Bletchley Park. The room was quirky, with older style furniture and the bed was comfy. Unfortunately the room was at the front of the building overlooking the main road, and we had to have the window open...

Stayed one night and had room 7. Was a little over our normal budget,but we were in the area for a wedding and went for it. Our room was well, stunning. It was beautifully presented and it was a good job we didn't see it when we checked in, or we may not have gone back for the wedding reception. The breakfast was included in the price and the food was top quality, perfectly cooked and prepared. Staff were very professional friendly and happy. Well worth the money . My only personal observation was the security lights in the carpark area. They shone into the room even with the curtains closed and I'm sure the local wildlife were setting them off every 10 seconds for fun.

Ellie was an amazing waitress and a lovely host for us. Would come back here just for her.

A fabulous overnight stay following a concert at MK Bowl. The family room was stunning with everything we could possibly need. All staff were friendly in particular the lady who booked us in and looked after us during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. All finished off with an amazing breakfast before heading home. Thank you so much for making our stay special. We'd love to come back!
