The Courtyard Brasserie in Milton Keynes

Came here after having my jabs (was recommended to sit for 20 mins before driving) I was the first customer of the day at a little after nine in the morning. Ordered a decaf coffee and a bacon sandwich. Bacon was of a reasonable quality, but was stone cold. Ate the sandwich as would end up running late. A cold bacon sandwich and a coffee at this establishment will cost you £10.20. Paid the bill and pointed this out to the assistant. Was told they would have replaced it. However as the first customer of the day it is a reasonable expectancy that bacon in a breakfast sandwich should be at least warm. Will neither revisit or recommend. Feel ripped off.

A very friendly and welcoming experience that offered a wide range of choices - not just Sunday roast! I chose a delicious cajun chicken dish which was both generous and full of taste. In fact it was so generous in size that I decided (like most of the group) not to have a dessert, though they did look tempting! It's a lovely relaxing place to eat and drink for all dietary needs - vegetarian, gluten free, vegan - whether it's for a meal or simply a coffee. Well worth a visit.

Attended jazz event at Courtyard Brasserie. The DD Powers Trio were great and the singer excellent. Sadly a table of 3 people decided to have a conversation over every song drowning out the musicians. Massively disrespectful and rude to both the artists and the rest of the audience. The manager didn't seem to interested in our complaint. A very disappointing experience.

Had a lovely breakfast here eggs Benedict very tasty. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, food was good. Definitely worth a visit if visiting Olney

Decided to go to the Courtyard for our lunch one day, something we rarely do as the service and food can vary significantly but never enough to have us ignoring it. Service this time was good and the food excellent. We had a sirloin baguette and humous one - both on lovely warm baguettes which were crispy outside but lovely bread centre. Excellent. Service was good but one of the main things which holds us up from frequenting it more often is the noise. Chairs echo around you when moved and when busy, the sound of voices can put a strain on your ears. In decent weather, you can have the option of eating outdoors but in our climate, that is not always possible.

Service was terrible, breakfast took ages to come out and was cold, sent it back and refused to wait ages for another one, coffee was rotten, manager doesn't seem to care, wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, after telling a few people I know in Olney they have all said the same it's no good, needs some staff that care about customers.

Leuk rustig plekje voor een prima ontbijt. De scrambled eggs vond ik wat weinig eieren en veel brood. Service vriendelijk. Je kunt zowel binnen als buiten zitten. Het ligt in een gezellig dorpje met allemaal kleine winkeltjes. Interieur kan ermee door.

Ok but quite pricey. I wouldn’t mind that but the portions were small and the service though friendly was very slow. No one asked if everything was ok. The mega breakfast was a bit underwhelming for the man in our group. I used to love this place so will probably give it another go and hope they were just having a difficult day.

Looks very pretty but sadly rather disappointing. Breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast... was £9 I think for a small portion of egg and very basic sliced white/brown bread. Side garnish of sliced tomato, cucumber and parsley unnecessary and dated looking. Over priced and rather underwhelming, looking nothing like pics on website. Staff were pleasant and helpful, and the place had a nice atmosphere, but wouldn't go back sorry to say.

My Partner Karen and I went here on Wednesday, We both had steak & kidney pie mash and veg, The food here is great we have been a few times this was the best, The service is quick the place is clean & tidy and the staff are polite & friendly

Sadly after being asked to leave my expensive umbrella upon arrival in the brolly box it was taken by a.n other and their cheaper umbrella left in place of. Let's hope it is an oversight! and it might be returned with an apology please. The moral of the story is keep your 🌂 umbrella with you.

Had the potential to be great but service lacking despite quite a few young waitresses milling around who never looked in our direction as tucked away. Cheesecake was as if there was loads of gelatine in it, rubbery. So much lettuce & not much else in the salad. Drinks arrived 10 minutes after dessert.

Have enjoyed eating here on many occasions but I’m afraid it seems to be going down hill. The service is not good. 1 of the girls serving seemed to be wearing a vest top as a dress that only just covered her modesty. No exaggeration ! The other held our dessert bowls with the sleeve of jumper. All of the staff were on their phones. It’s a real shame.

Stay clear me and 4 others received food poisoning service was also very bad I would not recommend

Honestly the best english breakfast I’ve had, I’ve been everywhere, English breakfasts are close to my heart 😂 and I can’t lie this is my favourite place in Northamptonshire for it. Highly recommend, solid portion size and good quality.

Lovely to find the Brasserie open on Christmas Eve, my wife's birthday. Was able to get a nice four-person window table without booking - thank you. Once again we had a nice very reasonably priced meal in a nonstuffy, laid-back atmosphere. the manager/owner said hello which was since. Will be going again in 2024 for sure.

We all noticed how the quality has gone done here. Service very good but prices are now high and going up. Beans (not warmed) on untoasted bread £6.50. They did reheat promptly. Bacon tasty but scrambled egg dry ++. Such a shame because we’re not coming back.

Very mediocre food… and the coffee was lukewarm warm. One of the eggs was almost raw. Won’t be returning or recommending I’m afraid!

Visited for lunch and had a lovely time. The food was very nice and the staff were very helpful.

Large 'conservatory' style restaurant with an extensive outdoor seating area. Ideal breakfast venue but a bit on the pricey side compared to others in town. Not over the top but noticeable when the bill is received. Biggest negative is noise! Chairs & tables being moved creates a racket which, when busy, grates in your head, hence the reason I would only eat here when it is quiet.

Lovely outside seating area. That's the best thing I can say. The service was appalling. The staff were nice enough, but they were stretched WAY above capacity on a Saturday lunchtime. As for the food, the ideas are way above their station. A veggie breakfast was of basic quality, the main thing on the plate being four slices of budget toast. With no butter. The beans tasted like a budget brand too. I have had veggie breakfasts twice as good at half the price. The fries that came with the burger were cold as well. In fact, the table next to us sent theirs back. Gave up waiting to try and pay for the bill and went straight to the cash desk as it was taking so long. The lunchtime visit was over 90 minutes, none of which were satisfying. Will not be returning.

This place has a brilliant atmosphere as it is located in an enclosed yard, meters away from the buzzing market square. The serenity of the yard gives the place a very relaxing energy. Good coffee and great food! Plenty of breakfast options, sandwiches and ciabattas. For a true british taste, I recommend the Full English breakfast (or go for the mega one if you're a breakfast person...I usually skip it) I've been told that, where it's possible ,ingredients are sourced locally. (that explains the fresh taste ☺️) Also if you fancy a Mediterranean-style lunch, there's plenty of options to go around... from lasagna to steak. I'll definitely visit again, I've got my eyes on some dishes I want to try. 😁🥳

The Courtyard Brassiere never fails to provide good food, good service and a good tranquil atmosphere.

AVOID!!! This place needs to be investigated by the HSE! My salmon came with a salad, which was a left over salad from another person's plate. This was evident as it had half eaten ham in the salad! My partner also found a hair in his food. I've purely only give one star to be able to upload my post. I wouldn't give this restaurant any stars.

Lovely mega breakfast served quickly and politely despite being pretty busy. Alway friendly efficient staff and owner who cares.

Had an ok lunch here. Lots of girls serving, yet service wasn't great. Food was fine - nothing wrong with it, but all fairly underwhelming. Everything was about 25% more expensive than it should have been in terms of quality. I had a very cheap sausage in a baguette. I asked for ketchup and was given some sachets (grrrrrr!!!). For such basic fare, I've paid about £4.50-£6.50 all around the country. This was £7.50. It's a pity, there seem to be a lot of better options within just a short stroll, so won't be rushing back.

A nice relaxed atmosphere, with pleasant staff. We had lunch, and the menu had enough choices for four. Would be nicer if we'd been given cutlery per place setting, rather than all dumped on the table. The food served was good and had generous portions. The website link on Trip Adviser seems wrong. The food wasn’t the best with over cooked bacon. I’ve had much better full English from little village cafe. When one waitress came in all the talk you could here was about the gym sessions they all complete with foul language being used on a number of occasions. I’m always in the area every 4 months and have always seen it but never tried it. Now I’ve been to try it but won’t be going back.

I think 10 min wait for two coffees is too long and the quality was poor. The atmosphere was excellent and the staff very friendly to pleasant.

Have never found the service great here but have always liked the food. This time was particularly bad though. Took a while but the waitress eventually came over. Ordered drinks and food. Drinks came out. An hour later no sign of any food. When I enquired the waitress went off to the kitchen to ask. Apparently ours was next. We had watched them bring out everyone else's food- not quickly though I have to say. The people on the table next to us who came in after us also waited an age but at least got theirs before us! We decided to give up and were told sorry about that- your drinks are £9.00. What bad customer service. I would have apologised profusely and said the least we can do is give you the drinks for free. That would have at least persuaded me to go back there but we've decided never again!

Nice area with outside seating. We had Scampi, chips and peas, it was really lovely , i would have preferred the peas cooked more. We followed with 1 Cheesecake and 1 ice cream both very nice.

Popped over for tea and cream scones. Never a lover of spray cream would much prefer clotted cream. The outside patio needs a clean and weeds removing

Popped in here for a drink on father's day waited 15minutes to be served then another 30minutes for some drinks to arrive then another 10minutes for the last drink to arrive then was over charged for drinks won’t be going back or recommending

Gone down hill... I had the mega breakfast and there was nothing mega about it. It was overpriced, half of the plate was beans, the mushrooms were indedible, the egg was undercooked and the tomato was bland. The service was poor, the staff are clearly inexperienced. There was no check back and was practically ignored. We will not be returning.

We chose a seat outside and I went in to order but told it was table service and somebody would be out with a menu. Waited 15 minutes and rather than be ignored any long left and ate elsewhere. The place was not that busy so they obviously did not want my business.

Service was not good. Staff spent more time cleaning tables than serving the customer. Once ordered the food was served fairly fast

Visited on Saturday for a very special but sad reason: remembering times when we ate at the courtyard with my lovely late mother years ago. It was so nice, the food was fab, very reasonable and the service was excellent. The menu was really varied and expansive for somewhere I was expecting to just have lunch offerings so it would be a year place for dinner too 👍🏻 we'll be back next time we're in Olney 😊

Popped in for a latte with my wife. Had a warm buttered teacake too. Delicious! Great service. Definitely recommend.

Was really busy when we arrived, so they couldn't fit us in as there were 9.5 of us. we came back a little later on and got seated. Place is a little dated, and the floor is tiled, so was slippy. The food took a fair while to arrive but was really nice when it finally came. The portions are big too. You get a good-sized pot of tea, and coffee is nice too. The toilets are tiny, so good if you're tiny too, but not so good if you're 6' 1" and put a few extra pounds on over the Christmas period. There's also nowhere for you to change a baby either, unless you put them on the floor with the mat provided, or balance them on the sinks..(which is not what I'd do). Overall I'd recommend trying this place as staff are nice and food is tasty too.

Ended up with food poisoning. Friends took me out to lunch for a birthday treat so when my food arrived I didn’t like to complain as I would have normally. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese, it was honestly the worst jacket potato I’ve ever had. Most definitely reheated and was not hot enough, it was just warm. I thought at the time that the texture tasted like it was old and found at the back of the fridge. The portion of grated cheese was incredibly small and the salad garnish was a pinch of chopped lettuce, one thin slice of tomato and one thin slice of cucumber cut in half, but it had a sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley to elevate its look. I should have known better than to sit there quietly and eat it anyway so as not to cause a fuss, especially since I have a level 3 food safety qualification. I’m really regretting that now having spent the evening and into the early hours with tummy cramps, headache and diarrhoea. I won’t eat there again, catering standards are way too low.

A few customers were already in when we arrived, but soon started to fill up with more customers.. The staff was very friendly and helpful, The service was quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend a visit..

I ordered the fajita seasoned chicken and it was really dry and apparently I'd ordered cold fries. Fortunately I ordered a side of onion rings, but when they arrived and the server asked who they were for, I said for everyone to share. So she said; " Well put them on the table then!", like sorry, I didn't realise I work here 😂. My mum ordered the soup because it said it was chicken and mushroom on the board, it wasn't chicken and mushroom... When asked what it was (it tasted like carrot and sweet potato) the server said it was c&m, she said (at 2pm), that they hadn't changed the board yet and she'd triple check, we didn't see her again. We were a party of five and none of us were impressed with the food. The staff were friendly enough, but just clueless about what they were serving, the cutlery was disgusting and when we first arrived they were dragging tables and chairs around for 20 minutes which was super loud and annoying. Also, one of the two ladies toilets didn't lock so I had a glamorous old lady interrupting me mid-stream 🤷🏼‍♀️

On a cold December day we chanced upon the Cafe. We were impressed with the very friendly staff and quick service. The place was very busy, but there plenty of willing staff on to serve. I had a sirloin baguette and Gill had a salmon bagel. Both were exceptionally tast. The price was not cheap, but fair these days I would say and if you have a good nosh that's OK by me. There is an outside area too which will be great in summer I imagine.

Always an enjoyable spot for brunch or lunch...food is great and the service is warm and friendly!

Two of us stopped for coffee yesterday. My friend was visiting from the Midlands. She asked if her coffee could be served in a straighter mug rather than a large rounded cup, as she has arthritic hands and finds the rounded cups and handles unbalanced and difficult to hold. With a sour face, we were told that all the cups were the same, all rounded and they had no others available. When we pointed out a straight sided mug in use across the cafe we were told that was actually rounded and there was only one type of mug. This exchange was completely unnecessary and unfriendly. There were other mugs-in fact the coffees came in the type we had suggested, delivered by a different waitress. We left feeling that customers at this cafe are regarded as an inconvenience if we make a special request. Won't be back, wish we had gone somewhere else.

Breakfast was excellent but the restaurant itself needs a really good clean and a lick of paint. It looks like it hasn't been decorated in quite a few years. When you look around, everything from the windows, sills, ceiling and walls needs some TLC. It's also extremely cold inside, so make sure you dress up nice and warm as the metal chairs also make it cold to sit down for any time. The food is lovely as well as the staff, just the aesthetic of the place let it down, so come on owner, get some volunteers and get painting

Haven't been here for some time so for a change we decided to drop in for lunch. Place was busy with diners both inside and out but we headed indoors, once the bottleneck at the counter cleared. (Despite plenty of signs asking you to pay at the table, some folks simply don't comply). Eventually we were shown to a table and being rather hungry, were delighted to experience quick service. My wife ordered a Grilled Chicken Baguette (breast of chicken with salad and mayonnaise) and I had the Stallone (chicken, bacon, avocado, lettuce, mayonnaise drizzled with pesto and served as an open ciabatta) with a tea and latte. Looking at the menu, we felt that the food was a tad pricey in our opinion but given the current energy crisis and recovery from Covid, I guess that was to be expected. When it arrived, however, as we ate it, the quality and quantity certainly justified the price. Both dishes were well prepared, extremely tasty and looking at the menus, other dishes being consumed, I could not understand why this place doesn't open in the evening. The location, setting and layout would make this a perfect sunny evening venue. A thoroughly enjoyable meal which will see us returning to sample some of their other offerings. Only hitch was a problem with their card reader at the end which took a number of failed attempts and a change of machine before we successfully achieved payment. All in all, a lovely experience.

A group of us dropped in over the weekend for a coffee and cake. I decided to try the ‘famous Onley pancakes and a cappuccino. Unfortunately the coffee was average and the pancakes where very disappointing. Admittedly I was expecting American style pancakes when told they come with maple syrup. These came out and where more of a crepe which would be fine, however, they where cold, chewy and small for the price, disappointing to say the least. Especially when paying nearly £8 for them with a coffee. I will say the service was great and I can’t fault that or the venue, pretty location and very clean and well presented just the food / coffee and high price that lets it down. Maybe it was a bad day but unfortunately with so many others around I won’t be trying again.

Lovely little cafe in the heart of Olney🥰! Great customer service, and selection of teas, coffees & cakes🙌🏿 Highly recommend☺️

This our first time in this cafe. It looked nice from the outside. 1. Customer service was OK but not attentive and welcoming. We were offered the kids menu which they never came and I was difficult to get their attention even though the place was not busy 2. The prices were too high considering the quality. 3. Drinks. The hot chocolate and the babycino were OK. I don’t believe how someone decided to present this double espresso. It was lukewarm and served in a big cup with coffee splashes all around. The person who made it had a fight with the machine but still decided to present it. 4. Pancake. In the town of pancakes with so much competition, I just couldn’t believe that we were served this terrible pancake. It was the chewiest pancake swimming in a pool of maple “flavoured” syrup (not maple syrup). We ordered this for the children to share but they didn’t touch after the first bite. 5. No ambience so we couldn’t stay longer than 40 minutes. We did not complain as our morning was already spoiled and were not in a mood. We won’t be going again.

Fantastic staff especially a pretty blonde Turkish girl. Very helpful. Informative and friendly. Excellent lunch. Pork belly was tasty and filling. Pleasant surroundings.

Good location nice staff, slow service as always saying kitchen is busy. We asked for cheese and ham toasty on bread and was charged for baguette! When I questioned my bill was told that they don’t have a price for bread, I think this was overpriced. Parting comment from cashier was have a nice day!

Myself and other guests where treated in a very special way. Coffee and very nice carrot cake, moist but a shade too sweet for me.

Went to this cafe today for brunch after my brother got married yesterday and we had to pre-order all our food a few weeks ago. There was 30 of us but they knew we were coming and it was an awful experience. The drink orders were taken and then some didn’t turn up so we asked again and after half an hour of waiting they turned up. The food all came out at extremely different times and my food (literally two croissants and a two jams) came an hour and a half late! The service was poor and when my food finally arrived (after chasing it up several times) they weren’t even fresh, they looked as though they’d been bought from a supermarket and heated in a microwave. After the meal it took ages for them to work out how they wanted us to pay and when they came up with a solution we worked out what we owed but said to the waitress at the bar we weren’t happy paying for the croissant as it was so late and she said that was reasonable and said they’d remove it but the owner needed to come and sort everything as he’d agreed how we’d pay. The owner then had an argument with me over £2.95 for my croissants!! I was mortified and he was so rude, talk about the ‘customer is always right’ he was convinced the service he had provided was good and that I had to pay for the croissants that were below average and that arrived after everyone in our party had finished their food! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! Cannot believe how we were treated and would NEVER go back!

Lovely little cafe/restaurant hidden away from the high street, the service was polite, the food was gorgeous and the portions were very generous! We will definitely go back for lunch when we visit Olney again!

Lovely place but the service was not so great this time, very disorganised and waited ages and didn't get some of what I ordered which they had forgotten about.

Tucked away off the main road but a nice place. Clean, inviting and a relaxed vibe with plenty of plant life going on. I had a warm scone which was a little dry but perfectly acceptable. Nice friendly staff who were very welcoming.

Fairly nice lunch, but the food seemed to take a long time to arrive when we were hoping for a quick lunch.

Very disappointed. We’ve been eating here for years. This time coffee was cold, food was bland and to finish it off we still had to pay the bill despite a slug found in my salad! Doesn’t deserve one star. We won’t be going back

I liked the food I had a falafel wrap which was tasty fresh and affordable. I'm not a vegan for the record but I wanted to try something light and tasty which this totally was. The service was speedy and polite. There is parking nearby and it's free which is also a bonus. The restaurant provides seating indoors and outside so take your pick! I'll definitely go back I stopped here for a light daytime lunch 👌🏼

We visited on a busy day and was told there would be a 30 minute wait for food. Fair enough, so we ordered simple items (bacon roll and salmon, scrambled egg on toast). Drinks arrived after 15minutes (diet cokes). Several other table were having problems with their food order, one table had been waiting an hour for a salad. When the drinks arrived I asked how long the food would be and was told another 15 minutes , no problem. 50 minutes after arriving I had to cancel our food as we didn't have time to wait then eat it. I don't mind a wait for food, but give me an honest estimate up front so I can decide if I have time (if they had said over 45 minutes I just would have ordered drinks).

Great little spot. Had breakfast sat outside in the sun. Lots of room inside and out.

Menu looked great, we were shown to a table outside & our order taken but we never got our drinks let alone the meals we ordered. Table next to us ordered at the same time & had eaten & paid & still no sign of our order. Patience exhausted went to check what was happening to be told there was no record of an order for our table! An absolute shambles and they clearly can’t cope. Couple sitting alongside us had their meals but no sign of any drinks. Looks a lovely place but no guarantee you will get your food and drinks and generally seemed very poorly managed. Customer care and service not a priority. Only recommendation would be not to bother & find somewhere else. We wasted 45 minutes & definitely wouldn’t give it a second chance.

Only stopped for a cup of tea, but we got 6 cups out of the teapot, extremely good value for money. Looked at the menu and it looked enticing, but we had eaten earlier.

Tasty English Breakfast on a Sunny Saturday morning. Initially thought it was a tad small, but it filled a hole. £24 quid for two breakfasts, one pot tea, one pot coffee and a sparkling bottled water is very expensive and certainly more than i'd usually spend (very rarely eat breakfast), but the friendly staff, lovely surroundings and tasty food made it fair value for an occasional treat.

We have previously eaten here and decided to go again. We shared a cake (watching the calories!) and had cappuccinos as well . Friendly , quick service and water brought for our dog. Lovely quiet location will hopefully go there again

After having a lovely walk around Olney in the sunshine we stopped in at the Courtyard brasserie for tea and a sandwich. How long does it take to make a toasted BLT.? We never found out because after a management type guy apologised three times...

Had lunch here, and were looked after by lovely staff. Three of us had the lasagna, which we all agreed, was the best we had ever tasted. My husband had one of the choices off the special menu of the day, which was belly pork,...

Excellent cafe in Olney. Lovely to sit outside. Service was quick and friendly. Recommend the lemon pancakes, this being Olney, and the blueberry muffins looked great too.

I love this place. Olney in itself is a special little village, full of charm and beauty. This hidden gem of a restaurant (tucked away in a little courtyard) is a lovely representation of the area as a whole. The food is good and affordable, with great portion sizes and friendly staff. The lasagne is absolutely delicious and I definitely recommend sampling it for yourself. Can't wait to go back!
