Smarts in Milton Keynes

I had a chicken kebab which was disgusting however my partner had fish and chips and couldn’t fault it! I wish I had ordered fish and chips too. I was disappointed, the chicken in my kebab was all fatty and undercooked.

I have been pleased with these guys in the past so its my first stop chippy. Todays was nothing short of nasty. Price has increased by £2 or more. Chips were made of leather and the fish (large cod was in a chewy batter jacket, hence large size). I felt quick sick afterwards, i can only say i felt like i had just visited a dirty one legged prostitute. Sorry guys but its true.

I generally use Smarts for a local ‘guilty pleasure’ doner kebab, maybe 6 or 7 times a year depending how guilty I have been feeling? I always find them a little terse, OR maybe very very efficient (you decide) at the till, but generally get exactly what I ordered! I really don’t like that the ‘doner’ is made, shrouded in mystery at the back of the shop only to turn up under the ‘preheat shelf’ to be bagged with well wishes, but up to date I have to say ALL have been really fine! My only comments are that IF you ask for the chilli sauce (which I do) it is great, but can be sometimes so hot that the end ‘burn’ is maybe too much for your fingers, OR more likely a ‘tomorrow’ burn elsewhere! Hmmmm! Don’t get me wrong these kebabs are great but be careful with regards to the Chilli sauce!

This fish and chip shop Is amazing, the staff are helpful and friendly. I’m fussy and can’t eat fish with the skin on and they take it off for me with no quarms and their chips and spicy potatoes are lush. I totally 💯 recommend this place for cheeky takeaways.

I’ve tried every fish and chips prettty much around the Uk and nothing tops this place, maybe because I’ve been going here for 10 years now and nothing compares.

Ordered a cheeseburger meal deal a portion of chips less than half the size of a full portion and the cheeseburger was a very cheap nasty tasting burger it was fatty and dreadful and my clothing stank of chip fat when I left

I went in at lunchtime and ordered chips and a battered sausage. The frying oil wasn’t clean and it was evident in the taste of the chips, and the batter on the sausage was chewy....so not freshly cooked. I couldn’t eat it. Very disappointed. I won’t be going there again.

Great variety of food. Friendly staff. Value for money. We go about once a month. Keep meaning to get a portion of their fab spicy potatoes but always forget. Would definitely recommend.

Such a great price for a really yummy snack!! They're so big, like whole potatoes....!! And not super spicy either, just the right amount.

Sometimes hot, other times cold. Sometimes loads of chips other times not enough. Go there quite often, it's a shame they can't be more consistent

Been here a few times (only started going this year) and have been fairly happy with my meal. A couple of times we have been given the 'odds and ends' of the chips which haven't been great considering a large portion is £3 (and they're not that large!) From experience I've learnt to go in peak times when the food is likely to have been just cooked. Never been waiting more than a few minutes. Tonight's tea of fishcake and chips was lovely and tasty. Free and convenient parking outside, especially if you go after the retail shops have closed, otherwise it is a struggle.

We popped in here for a quick lunch after visiting the patchwork shop just round the corner. The service was quick and efficient and the staff were very helpful to an old gentleman who was unable to carry his plate to the table. It seemed like he was a regular visitor. The fish and chips were delicious. Just the right size for a lunch meal. The fish was perfectly cooked, and beautifully moist and the chips were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, just the way chip shop chips should be.

Not many left really.. those great chips hops where you can still sit in to enjoy spankingly fresh fish and chips.. (and of course lot's of other offerings too..).. Plus they have parking round the back! We really enjoyed our visit and teh food, we will be back for sure the next time a hankering for fish & chips arises! Good price too!

chips and sausage and the people are amazing but needs more tables and chairs and it is a bit slow at serving but it's worth the wait.

Best fish and chips around - the haddock is out of this world!! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, - look forward to having it every Friday

First of all if you want to pay by card your charged an extra 50 pence to cover the costs, I've heard of this when it's under a fiver but over that just seems like money grabbing. paid cashed and was over charged by more than 60 per cent, when questioned it got the cash back but no apology, wonder how many more people have been caught like this. Not again for me

Buen pescado y patatas fritas es difícil por aquí y inteligencia es el mejor. Los precios son promedio, pero el personal es muy atento y el servicio es rápido y eficiente. El bateador puede ser más delgada y nítida, pero el pescado en sí es muy sabroso y bien preparado. Un chips grandes es más que suficiente para tres promedio de los apetitos.

Professional fish and chips shop, offering all of the usual pies, sausages, mushy peas and the like. Much of the food is ready-cooked; this is NOT a problem given the fast turnover of the food. Reasonably priced and tasty food. Don't miss the cod! Highly recommended.

The fish and chips are always fresh (only a small wait) and are very good, portions are a good size. Also they do a lot of other foods such as wraps, burgers etc. Staff are very friendly, overall one of the best in Bletchley / M.Keynes. Pls good value for money.

love smarts .... didn't know Portuguese could cook such great fish and chips ...some of the best I have ever tasted ....portion sizes knock you out

SMARTS is originally a Fish & Chip ship but also serves burgers, kebabs, kebab wrap roll, slush puppy and most things related. Owned and run by lovely homey men from portugal EVERYTHING you buy from there is perfect. The nitty gritty is that it is in a prime position in historical Bletchley, in an old market square, and so quite busy eventhough the service is fast. Now the food, I may have said it before, it is all perfect, even down to the chips.

As takeaways go this is very average and acceptable, fish and chips are pretty standard, fairly priced and its ok for a quick meal.

After the disappointment of the previous nights chinese buffet, we decided to keep it simple and risk the local chippy. Phew, it proved a great choice. We all had different and each was as about as good as you get from a takeaway chippy. The boys even had the battered Mars Bars (other confectionary bars are available (actually they're not)).My cod was creamy and huge, Bens burger was freshly cooked, Joe said that some Colnel bloke could learn a thing or two about coating his chickens and the wife (not that she needed coating) enjoyed what ever she had (actually have no idea what she ate, as my wife noise filter is now permanently on, and I cannot lip read people with a mouthful of food)

Have had food from here on several occasions doing a 6 mile round trip all round. Polite, friendly staff, very clean shop, excellent service and great food. I will continue using them and would highly recommend.

Brilliant all round. If Central Bletchley's Smarts have not won awards they should well have done. So much choice of food, the usual fish and chips etc plus sauces, battered sausages, various types of kebabs, kebab rolls, burgers and drinks - all cooked and served to perfection by fun and friendly staff. There are a couple of tables and chairs for eating in or, of course, take away. No problems ever at this Smarts in Central Bletchley (NOT to be confused with SMARTS in Melrose Avenue which is run by a different family and no comparison to this one).

Chips were soggy and the fish was stale will not be returning again anytime soon, there are far better chippys in the area to go to. Prices were also cheaper then the rival shops however this was reflected in the poor quality of the food.

Very quick service, difficulty getting parked to pick up food, staff friendly.
