Ordered a steak, requested jacket potato instead of chips, first time ever I was refused so chips it was,my friend ordered chips instead of mash with her main, she got mash and no offer to change it.Chips were vile so I didn’t eat them, felt reheated and tasted odd, peas were like pellets. My friend heard the manager on the phone to a customer enquiring,he told them that they were quite busy at the moment, there were myself and friend, two ladies having a meal and a guy in the bar area with his dog!It was dead in there!Overheard the waiter apologising to the two ladies for something when he brought their food out aswell. Highly disappointing, won’t be revisiting,no appeal or ambiance in the place,no wonder it is never busy anymore!

Amie has been incredible, i told her about my cinnamon allergy and she went above and beyond to make sure none was anywhere near me. from changing my friends glass to going to the outside bar from inside to make them aware aswell. This girl is an absoloute asset to your team, and we are so very grateful for her hospitality!

Our second visit in a month to Sutton Hall. Absolutely outstanding in every way. Food “par excellence” and fantastic service from our lovely waitress. This place is on a different level to any pub / restaurant I have been to. Great selection of beers and wines as well. Dog friendly which is always a bonus. Returning again in two weeks and no doubt it will be 3 out of 3.

My fiancé and I recently got engaged and wanted a meal together to celebrate, the boars head was a perfect choice. The atmosphere was lovely, lucky for us it was very quiet when we arrived and only started to get busy as we were on our last course. The staff were really friendly and even wrote us a card to congratulate us. The waitress was actually the first person who we told about our engagement as we decided to keep it secret for a little while to enjoy the bubble. Now onto the important part, the food. We chose from the 2 courses for £22 menu. I'm a vegetarian and I had the pizzetta for starter and the tikka roasted cauliflower for my main. My fiancé had the breaded scampi for starters then the truffle and tusk burger for main. We shared the sticky toffee pudding for desert. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The 2 for 22 is really good value for money, portion sizes are great. We left feeling very full and happy. Looking forward to going back at some point.

Loved the atomosphere, servers and Bar staff very kind, and love the Oldy worldy style, in the spring and summer they have lovely tables outside with heat lamps, food was lovely as well, had the Turkey Crown and Bread and butter pudding, even when the staff were under alot of stress, with the amount of people, they always had a smile (i Could not do that all Day)

Been coming to the kingfish for a number of years now, with the family each week. But the past few months now the consistency with this place has just gone downhill each time on the food. Maybe they have a high turn over of chefs. But I have bought this to the attention of the manage today but nothing but a cheap apology.

Never again. Food was lovely, the landlady (this is who I think she was, as she never actually introduced herself) was aggressive in her manor and rude. To explain, I had taken my elderly aunt and her friend out for Sunday lunch. I ordered tap water, as I don't drink alcohol nor fizzy drinks, and I was driving anyway. My aunt and her friend also ordered tap water, as they are of an age where they don't drink in great quantities for needing the loo. We also ordered our food. I had brought a small squeezy bottle of cordial with me and put some in my water, as I don't like pub cordial. My aunt asked for a squirt in her water and so did her friend. Whilst we were eating our food, a bolshy woman came over and told us we couldn't bring our own drinks and gave us a telling off. I was flabbergasted. I explained that I didn't like pub cordial, and that we would be ordering desserts and coffees, as well as having the main meal, to be told "we are a business not a charity" and she continued in her aggressive manor, telling us she would charge us for 3 cordials or the tap water. She did not have a quiet word, she was rather vocal, so much so, the table opposite asked what the "trouble" was. I told the woman/landlady that we would be finishing our meals and leaving without ordering desserts nor coffees. She went onto say the desserts are complimentary anyway (apparently, when you order a Sunday lunch, which my aunt and her friend had, desserts are complimentary). Begs the question, are they complimentary or is the cost of a dessert factored into the price of a Sunday lunch, afterall, they are a business, not a charity? I could completely understand her stance had I ordered water and poured my own whiskey into the water, but not for a squirt of cordial. She snatched the remaining water from the table and I asked her to go away, as she was spoiling our meal, to which she did. When the lady on the opposite table asked what the trouble was and I was explaining, said woman appeared again, in the same aggressive manor. At this point we were leaving anyway so we did just that. Our bill was just over £50 but would have been £20 or so more had we had a pleasant experience and stayed for desserts and coffees. It upset my aunt so much she burst into tears when she got into my car. SHAME ON YOU COACH AND HORSES!

Went for Sunday lunch and will not be returning. The service was very slow and the food wasn’t great. The food took a long time to arrive and it was quiet when we ordered. I had to go and find a member of staff to order desserts as we were left with our dirty plates in front of us for half an hour with no offer of drinks or checking if our meals were okay. Asked for the bill and then go and find someone to pay. The food was overpriced for what we received and nothing stood out that would make us want to return. Lots of members of staff stood around gossiping It’s a shame as it’s a lovely place that could have potential if the staff were friendlier and more efficient.
